From Amy:From the beginning of my work as a "real" writer (which I had tried to be on my own for a very long time, but I couldn't move past the journaling stage... no matter how "gifted" anyone said I was at wordsmithing...) I have found that I cannot succeed without the support of collaborative partners whose gifts and vision complement mine. That's true of this podcast, and it's definitely true of an audiobook. So when my long-time podcast editor moved on to brighter things (he's a gifted musician who graduated from college and spends his time performing on stage), and I couldn't get traction recording and editing my second audiobook (surprise, surprise), I reached out to K.O. Myers, whose work I had long admired from Natalie Miller's Mindwitchery podcast.I could not have been more pleased with the results, and I have to let you in on a secret. This was an experiment I was conducting not just for my own audiobook, but because I refer my writing clients to professionals I know firsthand. So let this be my ringing endorsement: I love the audiobook that K.O. produced for me. He's got skills and profound wisdom. Beyond that, I felt supported and seen—or should I say, heard. If you're wondering what the process looked and felt like, for curiosity sake or even because you're considering if audio work is for you, this episode lets you in behind the scenes.K.O. From her earliest memory Natalie Miller has loved making art. As a young adult Natalie took a break from art, focussing more on working with horses. In her mid 30's Natalie was hit with an overwhelming drive to create again. Natalie started with pen drawings and painting, before taking her first pottery class at Station Gallery in Whitby. From the very first class she was hooked. It was everything I'd ever hoped it would be. Natalie is very much inspired by Mid Century Modern, Scandinavian design, clean lines, and bold colour palettes. Natalie lives with her partner and their two cats in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. http://ThePottersCast.com/1083

Capitalism is geared against most of us, though here we are working within this system. How do we find a way to be in this system that is not exploitative? How do we find a way to be in the system that does actually help us to find some power-- when power is in this system expressed through money and that can be so problematic!" That's basically how Natalie opens up this seriously badass conversation about money, gender, power, and privilege. In this episode we talk about: Money and gender Money and power What it means to be extractive and how not to be! How can we feel good about making money? Why do so many women get stuck at earning "just enough" Ways to be generous! How to think about scaled pricing--should you or shouldn't you do this? This week in anguish: - Bo Horvat and Ardella's DAWG rating goes stratospheric, while Tristan puts the old captain's tears under the microscope. - Sometimes bitten, forever mauled, Ardella and Iain McIntyre lead us on a tour of the five players who were happiest to see the back of us, statistically speaking, at least. - The PWHL releases their jersey "designs" for their inaugural season, and they're spectacularly unimpressive. Sad Whale noises. - Natalie Miller supports Hockey Helps the Homeless, and I just hope it doesn't ruffle too many feathers when I say I think that's swell. Thanks for listening! We talk about this issue from multiple angles and through the lens of academia and life at home. You can be a successful academic and set boundaries on your time, wants, and desires. It may require systemic change in the framework of your institution, but even more importantly, it requires personal and professional development. Tune in to hear our thoughts on hyper-responsibility and how to leverage high standards in a way that does not result in burnout or overwork. For full show notes visit scholarsvoice.org/podcast/185. Jennifer Sodini, one of the creators of the very popular Amenti Oracle talks about new deck, Modern Nirvana Oracle and it's many uses. We discuss, the importance of practicing creativity in ones spiritual practice, ways to stay grounded in your ascension process, and the importance of using intuition in the NOW. Amenti Oracle, with it's stunning artwork by Natalie Miller, was a game changer in the Oracle realm for more reasons than just it's art deco inspired soothing aesthetic. It follows the unspoken rule that oracle decks ought to be accesible to all, but allows you (if you so choose) to get deeply esoterically educated. Get a fresh take on developing and retaining talent in this eye-opening conversation with Natalie Miller, Regional Director of Apprenti. She and host Brandon Laws discuss a new perspective on the age-old concept of apprenticeships but with an unexpected twist. Listen in to learn how your business could take advantage of this innovative employee development initiative. TAKEAWAYS When we think of apprenticeships, we often think of those for trade jobs, but apprenticeships can also be used for what we call “non-trades,” essentially career paths that we don't commonly associate with apprenticeships. Among the current talent coming into the workplace, only 30% have four-year degrees. Apprentices allow employees to get on-the-job training — working with managers and a mentor, understanding what works and what doesn't, and eventually being hired into an entry-level role. Organizations that focus on career mobility tend to show increased employee retention. Think about the purpose and functionality of the four-year degree requirement and consider other pathways for those who might not have been included in your talent acquisition process. This week we're back with another live coaching episode! I'm chatting with makeup artist, beauty educator, and Creative Virtual Assistant Sofaya Hussein about the worry around spending money in our businesses – a big stumbling block that comes up a lot! Sofaya tells us about feeling resistant and terrified of spending money even when she has the utmost confidence in her ability to make money in her business. She shows up with a ton of great questions around how she's built her own money beliefs – why is there such a discrepancy between action and feelings? Huge thanks to Sofaya for sharing her time and experience with us! You can find Sofaya here: https://www.headblush.com/ https://www.sofayaonline.com/ www.instagram.com/headblush/ QUOTES FROM SOFAYA ‘Even though I had the utmost confidence in myself and knew I could work it out and I could make that money, I found myself so absolutely resistant and terrified of spending that money. It brought me to the question of where's this discrepancy coming from and how do I get my actions to match up with my feelings.' FROM RAY “I just did a podcast interview with Natalie Miller who's an amazing coach and she talked a lot about being a conduit of money and the way that money flows through us, rather than us being the receptacle for money.” “We don't have the money for the sake of having the money. We have the money to give us a feeling of safety and security. Or to buy a house. Or if we have children, to pay for something for them. There's purpose to it.” “Both thoughts exist in my head at once and you recognise both those things, and it makes you feel more confused. Though a lot of people don't recognise it and that's when it's cognitive dissonance, where you don't even realise you are holding these two thoughts… I absolutely believe I can make the money that I need to make in my business. And I'm really scared of letting go of any of it in case I don't.”

In this episode, I'm chatting with the brilliant Natalie Miller about what it really means to invest in your business and the huge impact this can have not just on your life, but on society as a whole. For people who have been traditionally left out of money making, it can feel dangerous, taboo or even shameful to desire more. Whether we realise it or not, we hold ourselves back: we under-price, we overwork, we focus on the limits of our market value instead of our value. Natalie and I talk through how you can break out of this shame cycle and into a space that prioritises your values on a level that not only improves your own life, but also allows you to invest in others in a life changing way. We get deep into what it means to invest, and how to define the value of investments that are less tangible, like learning, coaching and self-development. If you're looking to make an investment that allows your business to grow in impact, income, and integrity, this is one not to miss! More about Natalie: Natalie is a feminist coach and host of podcast Mind Witchery, who helps evolutionary leaders pivot into whole-self-honouring lives and work. QUOTES “As our identity is pushed more and more to the margin, desire becomes more and more and more demonised and problematic.” “What I'm investing in are those vibes, those values, that perspective. And then it kind of takes me away from the dollar amount. It takes me away from: how many pounds? And is much more like: Okay, what do I need to do in my own life in order to get access to that?” “I think if we're going to a coach and we are thinking, ‘they're going to give me something I don't have,' we're going to be disappointed. Because a) it doesn't work like that… It's not like donating blood. I can't say: here's some courage, here you go. It's more like: I'm resonating with this and that person. That must be because it already exists in me. So let me, they can help me find that.” “That's another reason to invest in coaching with someone who shares your values, right? As you get more powerful, you'll exercise that power with more integrity.” “I love to tip 100%, at least when I have a service. When I have something for my body or when I travel, I love to leave a large tip for the person who cleans rooms… and the way that I am able to do that is to be a conduit for wealth: the more money that I can kind of pull through and inspire my clients to pull through.” “I might be saying: let's all have wealth that changes the world. But if I'm not changing my own self, if I'm not working on the ways that the world is constantly asking me to be afraid, then basically that is where the business model becomes exploitative.”

I am so excited about this episode today as we are breaking down the myth that you have to be (and be seen as) an expert to succeed in business. Together we unpack the concept of "expertise" and reframe it in a way that is more empowering, and honestly a huge relief! So many women are struggling with imposter syndrome because they believe they have to be someone else's definition of an expert before they can show the world their wisdom. Natalie Miller is a boldly feminist coach who helps evolutionary leaders break free from the golden cages they've achieved themselves into: the work, roles, relationships, and everyday lives that look lovely but feel confining. Oscar and BAFTA-nominated film “The Father” in cinemas this month was of course brought to you by the doyenne of Australian Cinema, Natalie Miller. With a keen eye for the latest greatest films, film distributor (Sharmill Films) and part-owner of the iconic Carlton Cinema Nova,Cinematic queen Natalie Miller transformed Melbourne and Australia into a film hub.Sourcing the best international and National films from across the globe she is revered for her dedication and determination to bring the best films to our local screens.Directors and producers across the globe from Fred Schepsi to Jane Campion, Sue Maslin (The Dressmaker) to Alan Finney respect her curated content which has seen Cinema Nova celebrated as Australia's premium art house cinema. As Oscars buzz swirls around her latest distribution selection “The Father” is carried by Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. This movie is told from Hopkins' perspective, as he ages his memory fading...“Based on the acclaimed, award-winning play, “The Father” starts out as a deceptively simple drama hinged on a deceptively familiar dynamic. Anne (Olivia Colman) is losing patience with her 80-year-old father, Anthony (Anthony Hopkins), whose grip on reality is fading but who refuses to allow a carer to look after him. She's moving to Paris and needs to ensure his safety while she is away so before she leaves she must find someone who will endure him. For Anthony, life has become a source of ever-disorienting confusion and in a masterful stroke, the writer-director Florian Zeller (who created the original stage production) tells the story from his eyes as characters and locations shift and we become as muddled as he.”Natalie joins me on the WhatIveLearntPodcast to discuss her latest choice, the Oscars, the collateral damage of losing her beloved cinema for Covid, her unfettered passion for film and storytelling, the new ACMI which she helped foster as an alumni board member, and the belief that the shared experience of going to the movies will always survive.

Welcome to Seize the Day Podcast with Natalie Miller-Snell. In todays podcast I discuss steps to help us reframe failure and offer tips to help develop new habits. When we perceive things have failed, it’s important to address the cause and not the ‘symptom’. Conversely, it is also important to review and celebrate when things go right. Theory and evidence suggests ‘little and often’ is a sustainable way to achieve long term habit changes, and these can be formed in as little as a few months. “Forget mistakes. Forget failure.
