We open episode 122 LIVE from the NH 10 Miler but quickly get to our guest segment with Jenene Vernon early on the Pod (03:45). We talk all about the NH 10 miler with some of our PodFam favorites at (01:42:15)Jenene Vernon shares her journey from hating running to becoming a passionate runner. She grew up dancing and had a strong aversion to running, even withdrawing from a college class that required running a mile. However, after her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, she decided to participate in a 5K race for a cause and found herself enjoying the experience. The second 5K race solidified her love for running as she saw improvement in her performance. Jenene emphasizes the accessibility of running and the importance of not comparing oneself to others. She also talk about their experiences with injuries, particularly her ACL injury and his road to recovery. They highlight the importance of mental strength and the support they received from the Peloton community. Eric also suggest the idea of a Peloton PT series to provide specialized exercises and stretches for different injuries (Peloton?). Everyone shares their experiences at the Peloton studio and their first Peloton classes thanks to the amazing community that Jenene and her husband Josh built with team Wicked Smart Zone.
