The first part of the show will be all about Make Music Day, which happens worldwide annually on June 21. This year over 40 acts will play in over 25 venues/parks in KC. We hear music from some of those acts playing on Make Music Day including Molly Hair, Musicbyskippy, Keelon Vann, SliKc, and Damon Parker of The MGDs. The second half of the show will feature more new releases, this time from Danny McGaw, Ethan and Charlie G, St Violet, Hermon Mehari, Rewound x Calvin Arsenia, and Collier Cash - you may know him as the Foo Fighters kid, as he was on stage with Dave Grohl and was gifted his guitar.

COPA states  social networks can't collect analytics on children under 13 without their parents consent. It's why many of the apps have 13 as the age minimum. Marcus Barnes, author and music journalist, is one of the most affable men I’ve ever met, and one of the most knowledgeable about British festival culture. So when Spotify asked me to do a live podcast for their London event “Rewound in Sound,” of course I called up Marcus. On the podcast we speak of Britain’s brilliant festival history from country fairs and fêtes, through the goliath of Glastonbury, the acid house revolution, and the explosion of festivals today. We end our chat discussing Emile Durkheim’s idea of collective effervesce, participatory events like Burning Man, and the reason we gather. Something I’ve noticed doing podcasts is that there can be an inflection point of shared vulnerability where we drop into effortless openness. I have an acupuncture appointment in the afternoon, and the acupuncturist can barely contain her excitement as she does her best induce labor. I have another appointment booked for the next day, but she doesn’t think I’ll be there. I go home, rest and drink raspberry leaf tea. It's supposed to help too. Labor might begin at any moment. Then again, it could be another week. I go to bed, trying to put it all out of my mind. For me, it had been a bit of a dark week, waiting and not knowing when our life together will start. I wake up during the night and feel a sudden gush. It's my waters, they've broken. There's meconium in them. I know this means it's urgent.  We race to hospital. Labor happens in a blur, with moments of hyper-sharp focus.
