Send us a text*** This episode is all about the magic messages waiting in times of quiet. When I've felt down and alone this last year, one major form of 'company' has come from watching Desert Drifter on YouTube. His wife, Evelyn, posted that he was in a car accident on Friday, January 31st. He underwent lifesaving brain surgery and is fighting for his life. Below is the link to his YT channel. If you feel compelled, join his Patreon, to give their family some monthly stability during this trying time. If money is short for you, play his videos and he will receive earnings from YouTube. He's one of the good guys, going out and hiking to sites that hold ancient art, creation, history, and knowledge, all the while teaching his viewers how to be a good steward of such sites.I dedicate this episode to Andrew and his wife, Evelyn, and am sending prayers for his full recovery. The Quiet to Hear the Divine(how getting quiet & pushing past discomfort can result in golden gifts)Last week you and I took a long look at the spectrum of emotions, many of which have been stigmatized or suppressed by Western Culture. What struck me is that boredom deserved its own conversation. Complicated, positive, negative, a mix of both, and at its heart, uncomfortable in this overstimulated time.Boredom is one of the most misunderstood feelings. What if moments of boredom are golden opportunities to imagine? Create? Problem solve? Learn? Grow? And more! How did boredom lead me to be introduced to two angels? For the Record is a conversation series where we speak with all manner of music heads — DJs, music journos, indie label captains, record shop owners, listening bar kingpins, et al — about their stories + the music that makes them. Join the Crate Coalition: https://discord.gg/sAaG6a7bv4 Farida Amadou is a self taught bass player based in Brussels, Belgium. The electric bass has been her main instrument since 2011. In 2013, she started to play a lot of different genres, including blues, jazz and hip-hop. Then Farida discovered improvisation music, a style and community she quickly embraced. In 2017, after spending a year playing bass for Belgian punk band Cocaine Piss, Farida decided to focus on her solo improvisation practice and collaborations. Since then, she's played with folks like Steve Noble, Thurston Moore, Peter Brötzmann, and Moor Mother.
The Role of the Holy Spirit in Engaging with Others In this conversation, Steve Noble and Lindsey Medenwaldt discuss the importance of bridge building in apologetics and engaging with people who hold different beliefs. They emphasize the need for prayer as a foundation for these conversations and highlight Jesus as the ultimate bridge builder. Are American Christians...too American? (feat Preston Sprinkle.) In this conversation, Steve Noble interviews Preston Sprinkle about his book 'Exiles: The Church in the Shadow of Empire.' They discuss the concept of living out faith in America, the idea of exiles, the dual allegiance to God and country, America's checkered history, shifting pronouns from 'our country' to 'my country,' and the importance of a global perspective. This conversation explores the themes of citizenship, the role of the church in relation to empire, and the challenges of political engagement for Christians. The chapters cover topics such as the humiliation and exaltation of Christ, the political realities of the book of Revelation, and the three approaches to church and state. The conversation encourages Christians to consider their allegiance to Christ's global kingdom and to approach politics with a prophetic witness rather than getting too entangled in the power politics of the day. Our goal is to apply Biblical Truth to the big issues of the day and to spread the Good News of the Gospel to as many people as possible through the airwaves as well as digitally. Join us for Part Two of Suanne's conversation with author, researcher and professor Steve Argue, co-author of Growing With: Every Parent's Guide to to Helping Teenagers and Young Adults Thrive in their Faith, Family & Future. Steve & Suanne are joined by Christ Church Family Pastor & Fuller Seminary Doctoral Student Steve Noble. Together, Dr. Argue & Steve share insights about how a parents' relationship with their child changes over time, what this means for parents as they, too, learn to grow and adapt to the needs of their kids, the real pressure parents feel for their kids to "measure up" (and what happens when they don't), and how relational warmth, empathy and community lead to hope and joy in parenting."Our children are changing as they get older. We are changing as they get older. Our relationship with them is changing as we get older. Often our parenting focuses on behavior but as our kids get older, it doesn't work so much. We need to go on a mutual journey with our kids as all of us change and grow together," Steve Argue. Learn more about Steve Argue's research, including his books, at stevenargue.com

Steve Noble is joining Leslie on the podcast today. Steve is the Host of The Steve Noble Show, a nationally syndicated daily Christian talk radio show, and he also launched NOBLE U in 2022 to add online classes after having taught over 600 HS students locally since 2011. Steve joined us at our event in Pigeon Forge this year, and the response to his workshop was overwhelming. We had people stopping me in the halls to tell us about it, so we are very excited to discuss how we can disciple our teens as we teach important subjects like history, civics, ethics, etc. Meet The Guest:Steve's walk with the Lord had started late and with a whimper, but God tossed several amazing opportunities in his path and gave him the faith to give them a shot…and that's when Steve left his life as a “pew potato” and enlisted as a “Christian Wacko”. Since then, God has taken Steve on a grand adventure including mission trips to Africa, Thailand, and Iraq. He taught an adult Sunday school for nearly five years and has led many Truth Project groups, as well. Called2Action has been at the center of it all since 2004 followed by the radio show, which started in November of 2007. God sold Steve's business in May of 2011 which really put his faith to the test…but never His provision. Topics Covered In This Episode:How do I incorporate discipleship and worldview into class? How do you cultivate a Gospel Mindset with students? How to fight back against cultural indoctrination?Additional Resources:Find out more about Steven Noble

If you've been listening to Curious Cat this season, then you know that this year I've been into angels. In fact, I've taken direction from my morning meditations as to which angel to research and feature next. Archangel Gabriel is one that takes my breath away, he is gloriously beautiful, dazzling, I can't look at him straight-on. There's a series of meditations I listen to that invoke the angels for protection and each time the narrator, Steve Noble, mentions Archangel Gabriel in the east I blush. I am working to feel worthy of his love, time, care, and assistance because it is definitely a ME thing, not a him thing. It is said that Gabriel is archangel of revelation because God chooses him time and time again to convey important messages. He is also archangel of the moon. When you encounter white or copper tinged light in your dreams, that's a sign Gabriel has been working with you while you sleep. He is also associated with the colors purple and light blue.He appears in the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament of the Christian Bible, and the Quran. He appeared to the prophet Daniel to explain the visions he'd been having. He spoke to the parents of John the Baptist to share the news first that their son's birth would be rejoiced across the land. He came to Mary and Joseph to share the good news of their son, Jesus's birth. This is why many call him the Christmas Angel. If you wish to master your emotions without repressing them, then turn to Gabriel. In addition, he is associated with water magick and the chalice is his elemental tool. Other attributes? He's sometimes depicted holding a lily, a trumpet, a shining lantern, a branch from Paradise, a scroll or a scepter. Archangel Gabriel might need a dufflebag to hold all that. The image of him holding a trumpet is one frequently seen in the form of classic Christmas tree topper angels and atop Mormon temples guilded in gold! The episode dives into Gabriel in many world religions and also pivots to a soul conversation when we turn to the work of author and podcaster, Julie Jancius. Mayor Steve Noble: "We can't prevent hate crimes" This week in La Voz en Breve, journalist Mariel Fiori has a show on business and well-being. She spoke with the Mayor of the City of Kingston, Steve Noble about the latest news from the city, such as the meeting this Wednesday at Everette Hodge from 5-7 pm to discuss the Franklin Street renovation project, with Spanish interpretation. The mayor also invites city businesses to say what they need to grow and recover from the pandemic, as the city has $17 million of federal stimulus to invest in businesses. There will be two meetings in late October, for Hispanic businesses. One of the main topics of today's interview had to do with the third act of vandalism against a poster that Radio Kingston has at a bus stop where the phrase: We believe that black lives matter was crossed out with red paint, for the third time. The radio sent letters to the mayor, city police chief and Ulster County District Attorney on all three occasions asking for something to be done about it. The mayor said that the three of them will come to the radio to make a special program to discuss this type of crime and send a message saying that these crimes are not tolerated. When asked what is being done specifically to prevent these types of crimes (which according to Noble also unfortunately occur in all parts of the city, uptown, midtown and downtown), he said that "we cannot prevent crimes, people who have hatred are going to commit hate crimes." He also said that by January 1 more video cameras are expected to be installed in hot spots in the city, but he did not know if there would be one at the bus stop in question. In her column Let's Talk about Economics, Professor Martha Tepepa from the Levy Institute of Economics at Bard College spoke about the importance of immigrant women in the economy and about a recently released book, Women Who Dare and Overcome Limits, Inspirational Stories In difficult Times.

Steve Noble was born and bred in Gippsland (Regional Victoria), which meant Steve spent his after-school hours working on his parents farm. Upon leaving school, Steve had many retail jobs including furniture and car sales, as well as stock feed, eventually becoming a fertiliser consultant with local company. For many years Steve had dreams of owning his own clothing range, but the clothes he was supplying to local sporting clubs were not yielding enough of a margin to survive on.In February 2020, Steve and his wife, Alice decided to launch Hugh Charles clothing as a side hustle to earn enough so that Alice didn't have to go back to work after their son Timmy was born. It quickly grew far beyond a side hustle, and by August 2020 Steve had quit his day job to pursue the business full time. Growth is still amazing and currently the business is consistently selling 300-350 shirts and vests per month throughout Australia, and occasionally abroad.Socials:Website: https://www.hughcharles.com.au/FB: Hugh Charles Clothing @hughcharlesclothing Insta: Hugh Charles Clothing hugh_charles_clothing LinkedIn: Stephen Noble Mentions:Startup GippslandPatagoniaLaurence O'TooleMick HarringtonThe VoiceEnjoy the visual here on Youtube

This week we were fortunate to sit down with Jeff Ford, better known as "The Wolverine Guy". After a wolverine was ran by coyote hunters in Michigan's Thumb on February 24th, 2004, he set out with Steve Noble to locate the wolverine himself. Once they cut the wolverine's track soon after, Ford would embark on a six year journey documenting the wolverine. We discussed his passion for wolverines, the importance of his support system during his mission, and theories about where the wolverine originated from. We also relive his lone encounter with the wolverine at his research site. This is a unique story you won't want to miss!

Most recently he has been touring with This Is Not This Heat, which brought him over the States for a series of shows. Clarinet, guitar, London, improvisation and a whole lot more. Today is a good one!

Ep 39 Malisa Humphrey & Diana-Sofia Estrada: The People On this episode our guests are Malisa Humphrey & Diana-Sofia Estrada. Malisa Humphrey is an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles and Diana-Sofia Estrada is also an artist who lives and works in Los Angeles who is also an avid cyclist and animal lover. This episode in our Notes from The People we're featuring a contribution from long time friend of the show Andrew Choate, an audio collage titled "Dope As Self Control" compiled from sounds he recorded on a recent trip to New Zealand. To close out the show, we have music by Peter Brotzman brought to us by Los Angeles' own Andrew Choate / The Unwrinkled Ear. He has produced a concert on May 16th, 2016, which is coming up if you're listening to this near the original air date, that will be at the Echoplex featuring legendary German saxophonist Peter Brotzmann. Brotzmann is bringing a band to Los Angeles for the first time since the 1970s, and that band is none other than the stellar London rhythm section of Steve Noble on drums, John Edwards on doublebass and, Chicago's finest, Jason Adasiewicz on vibraphone. We'll hear an excerpt from their album "Mental Shake", recorded at a recent live date at Cafe Oto in London.
Welcome back JP Nation! You are in for a treat. We are truly honored to have an incredible guest with us today. We have Steve Noble on our show to share some wisdom with you. He is the host of Called2Action Radio as well as a teacher at a seminary school. Steve shares with us a little of his journey in becoming a born again Christian. He has always viewed himself as a Christian, much like most of the population. The one difference between the Christian he was and the one he is now, is one simply word, grace. He had truth, but no grace. Jesus had grace. When he was being nailed to the cross, he could have brought wrath but instead he brought on grace. He says one simple thing that speaks a million words, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34, ESV) Have you ever gotten into a rut basing your self-worth on material things? Have you ever felt depressed about the way your life was going? Steve gives us three ways to overcome depression. We must get to know our Creator. We have to rely on His love and stability. We can’t put our weight into worldly things; we can only trust in Him. We have to acknowledge that we need help. Most of us were brought up being taught to hide our struggles, not letting other people know we are suffering through something. We were taught that to show weakness is weakness. That ultimately will lock us into unhealthy habits. We have to be teachable. We have to be open to receiving help. Many times we have to humble ourselves in order to get the help we need. Some people might have too much pride to reach out. We must put our pride to the side. There are two different times that Steve had a struggle he overcame and he shares those with us today. But he wasn’t able to overcome these struggles on his own. God sent his wife to walk with him through these adversities. When he started his Called2Action radio ministry, it was a different path than everyone else in his family had taken. He and his wife were visiting family when he hit a wall. He felt so shameful that he wasn’t making as much money as the rest of his family. He was holding his self-worth and value in material things. He was condemning himself for not being as “successful” as the rest of the family. His wife then spoke to him and pulled him out of that depression. She explained to him how he was called to that type of work and how he must obey! His other struggle was very similar. But instead of his wife talking him through his depression, she just simply handed him a Bible and said that he needed to get back into God’s Word. Both times, he was able to have a quiet, calm reserve come over him. His wife was standing with him and gave him the courage he needed to move forward. He didn’t know what the future held, but he knew that God was holding that future for him. There are so many people who endure the battlefield of the mind. They are having a hard time distinguishing true thoughts against the lies of the enemy. You have to obtain fuel from the outside and Jesus is that fuel. God will perform miracles; they just take time. Miracles happen through the perseverance of faith. Are you willing to continue to ask for something and have the faith that God will make it happen? God is for you and with you. He proved that on the cross. You will not be disappointed by tuning in today. Steve keeps us all on the edge of our seats the entire time. He has great wisdom that he is sharing with us. To get more information on Steve Noble or to reach out to him, you can visit his website at c2atoday.com.
