He offers parents heartfelt strategies for engaging adult children who stray morally or spiritually, nudging toward reflective conversation rather than confrontation, while challenging both superstitions about cursed religious objects and casual justifications for grave sins like abortion. In between, Patrick slips in musical asides and a reminder to weigh internet voices with discernment, holding up prayer and thoughtful evangelization as anchors through faith’s messier questions. They commend Webster as a rigorous and uplifting Reformed theologian, then trace the unifying threads of 1 Corinthians through Paul's concerns for love, unity, the body, and rightly ordered freedom. The conversation also explores Theopolitan instincts on polity—holding together local rule, presbyterial order, and episcopal responsibility—before turning to the church as the new humanity in Christ, a chosen people drawn from every tribe, tongue, and nation. The video draws a stark contrast between the legacy of Charles Darwin and the Christian understanding of human dignity, arguing that Darwin's theory of evolution, particularly his assertion that humans evolved from primates, has profound moral and theological consequences. It highlights how Darwin's views—such as his racial hierarchies and the concept of 'survival of the fittest'—paved the way for dehumanizing ideologies, including eugenics and genocide. The sermon underscores that the rejection of divine creation as a foundation for human worth has eroded moral boundaries, enabling justifications for abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide. By referencing Westminster Abbey as a symbol of enduring legacy, it warns that ideas, especially those denying God's role in creation, carry lasting and destructive consequences. Ultimately, the message affirms that true human value is rooted in being made in God's image, not in evolutionary progression.

Jesus, Paul, Peter, and Jude all warned that a time would come when many who profess faith in Christ would abandon sound doctrine, embrace deception, and follow teachings contrary to God's Word.Pastor Ken explores what the Bible says about apostasy, why it matters to believers today, and how Christians can remain steadfast in an age of increasing confusion and compromise. TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com The David Alliance Garth Heckman Common Patterns Across Preparation for the ultimate purpose. OR AS I LIKE TO THINK OF IT WHAT THESE WAVES PRODUCE AS MY FREQUNCY - Obscurity and delay built character: Long "preparation seasons" stripped self-reliance and taught waiting on God. - Suffering produced empathy and reliance: - Skills and context were strategic: God repurposed their vocations/cultures (shepherding, fishing, scholarship, administration, tentmaking) rather than erasing them. - Failures were not disqualifiers: Denial (Peter), murder plot involvement indirectly (Paul, Paul shouting at the High Priest), family dysfunction (Joseph/David) became part of their testimony. - Positioning: Experiences placed them exactly where needed (Joseph in Egypt, Daniel in Babylon, Paul on Roman roads, Ruth in Boaz's field). - Ultimate purpose was bigger than comfort: Their lives advanced God's redemptive story—preserving Israel, establishing kingship, prophesying, building the Church, and pointing to Jesus.     Purpose Disruption follows purpose.  ie. God created the earth and sin entered. God calls a person and disruption enters,    If our purpose does not end in people it's empty of true fulfillment!     1 —  Purpose is simple. It is given to us by God. But is fulfilled thru your gifts, talents, passions, abilities, (these are different waves that create the frequency of your life)       2. Purpose has nothing to do with perfection - but rather in motion - continually moving forward in Gods purpose.   3. The sum of your interruptions, roadblocks and daily grind fulfill your purpose more than the grand scheme, dream or goals you achieve.   4. "Your unique gifting, passion and quirks were engineered for friction and addiction. What do I mean? Your purpose will cause friction for some. Your Purpose will be your addiction… you can't give up.   Joseph told his brothers his dreams. This wasn't just a young boys blunder, but a confidence and stubbornness born out of his purpose.       5. "Your purpose might look entirely invisible to the world." Culture tells us that impact is measured by volume, dollars, visibility, likes and applause. A divine perspective, however, measures weight differently.

Jesus has risen, the disciples have him back, and the first thing he tells them is to wait, which may be the hardest command in the book. Then he is taken up, and two angels gently ask why they are still staring at the sky. Most of the Christian life is lived in that in-between space, after the promise and before the fulfillment. This first episode sets the table for everything that follows and speaks to anyone weary of waiting on God.  The Rev. John David Duke, Jr., pastor of Salem Lutheran Church in Buffalo, NY, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Acts 1:1-26.  To learn more about Salem Lutheran, visit salembuffalo.com. The book of Acts picks up where the Gospels leave off. Jesus has risen. He has ascended. And now what? Acts answers that question. Luke tells the story of how the Holy Spirit built the Church from a handful of frightened disciples in Jerusalem into a movement that reached Rome itself. Along the way, you get Pentecost, the first sermons, the first martyrs, the conversion of Paul, the first church councils, shipwrecks, riots, and the persistent, stubborn work of God through Word and Sacrament even when His people didn't have a plan. If you've ever wondered how we got from Easter morning to the Church you sit in today, this is the book. Tune in for this new series on Thy Strong Word with Pastor Phil Booe and guest pastors as we open up the Book of Acts.  Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. Submit comments or questions to: thystrongword@kfuo.org.

The early church didn't just baptize new believers. They delivered them first. For the first several centuries of Christianity, exorcism wasn't a dramatic spectacle reserved for extreme cases. It was woven into the baptismal rite itself, practiced across traditions, and considered a normal part of welcoming someone into the body of Christ. Somewhere along the way, we forgot.ABOUT THIS EPISODE:Matthew Esquivel returns to Remnant Radio to walk us through overlooked chapters in church history. We'll examine the deep and consistent link between baptism and deliverance in the early church. From the Apostolic Tradition attributed to Hippolytus of Rome in the third century, to the Seventh Council of Carthage in 258 AD, to the near-universal practice of renouncing Satan as part of the baptismal liturgy, the historical record is clear. The church fathers didn't see deliverance as a crisis intervention. They saw it as part of what it meant to cross from one kingdom into another. This episode is for believers who want to understand deliverance ministry historically and theologically. It's for people who've seen something real in deliverance prayer but haven't had the church history to back it up. And it's for the skeptics who wonder whether any of this has any grounding in Christian tradition.INTRODUCTION TO DELIVERANCE MINISTRY:https://www.theremnantradio.com/intro-to-deliverance-ministrySubscribe to The Remnant Radio newsletter and receive our FREE introduction to spiritual gifts eBook. When St John Chrysostom was exiled, the Great Church caught fire and was destroyed. Most of the people saw this as a judgment upon the City for exiling the holy Archbishop; but St John's enemies tried to blame his followers and persecuted them fiercely. Two of these loyal followers were Tigrios, a priest, and Eutropios, a reader. Tigrios had been a slave in his youth and was a eunuch; but once he was freed he had given his life selflessly to the service of the Church. The governor, Optatius, had Tigrios viciously tortured, then sent him into exile in Mesopotamia, where he died in captivity. Eutropios, another pure and holy servant of the Church, was flogged with whips and rods, then hanged. Christians carrying his body for burial heard a beautiful angelic chanting in the sky above them.

The video uses John Bunyan's grave in Bunhill Cemetery as a powerful backdrop to reflect on the enduring spiritual truths found in Pilgrim's Progress, emphasizing the weight of sin, the reality of temptation, and the ultimate hope of eternal salvation. It highlights how Bunyan, imprisoned for 12 years, transformed his suffering into a timeless testimony of faith, grace, and perseverance. The central message underscores the Christian journey as a pilgrimage toward the heavenly city, where the burden of sin is finally laid to rest in Christ's empty tomb. Through the imagery of the cross and the relief of forgiveness, the sermon affirms God's redemptive work and the lasting impact of faithful witness. The tone is reverent and encouraging, inviting listeners to find strength and hope in the enduring legacy of a man who endured hardship for the sake of the Gospel.

250 years of freedom and independence is something every one of us should be thankful for. Too often we take for granted the freedoms and liberties we enjoy and forget there was a price that many paid. There were 56 signers to the Declaration of Independence that pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. Sadly today, there are those who desire the downfall of our nation, trying to destroy celebrations and recognition of this milestone. Further, there is erosion that has taken place trying to take away the values and freedoms we hold dear. We must be ever vigilant or this cherished treasure, America, will vanish before our very eyes. Not only will we discuss these matters today, but we also take a look at the author of the original draft of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson. Joining us is Dr. Jerry Newcombe, Executive Director of the Providence Forum, a division of Coral Ridge Ministries. He is also a columnist and podcast host for Providence Forum and has produced a series of documentaries on America's Judeo-Christian roots. He is the author or co-author of 33 books including George Washington's Sacred Fire, The Book that Made America: How the Bible Formed Our Nation, American Amnesia: Is America Paying the Price for Forgetting God, the Source of our Liberty, and Doubting Thomas? The Life and Legacy of Thomas Jefferson. Jerry is also senior pastor at New Presbyterian Church in Wilton Manors, FL. More information: ProvidenceForum.org

Most people skip Romans 16 because it looks like a list of names they cannot pronounce. But every name here is a person who carried the Gospel to Rome before Paul ever arrived. Phoebe delivered this letter. Prisca and Aquila risked their necks for Paul's life. Andronicus and Junia were in prison with him. These are real Christians with real stories, and Paul knows them by name even though he has never visited their church. Romans ends the way the faith has always spread: through people who showed up for each other because Christ showed up for them.  The Rev. John Shank, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, IL, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Romans 16:1–27.  To learn more about Trinity in Edwardsville, visit trinitylutheranministries.org. Why does doing the right thing sometimes feel impossible? Why do feelings of guilt follow us even when we've been forgiven? These aren't new questions. St. Paul wrote his letter to the Romans for a church he had never visited, and yet he addressed the struggles every Christian knows firsthand: the weight of the law, the persistence of sin, the sufficiency of what God has done in Christ. Romans covers enormous ground. Paul moves from the universal problem of sin through justification by faith, the role of baptism, the war between flesh and spirit, God's faithfulness to Israel, and the shape of life together in the body of Christ. There's a reason the Reformation was born in this letter. Join us on Thy Strong Word as we open up Romans, weekdays at 11am or on-demand anytime, at KFUO.org.

One of the greatest crises of Christianity is that we've lost our understanding of how to actually do what Paul Is teaching in this passage of Romans. I'm not exaggerating! By and large over most of the past 2,000 years church leaders have tried to make God's people holy by warning them not to do bad things and scolding them when they did which, as we all know, doesn't work. Like the man Paul describes in Romans 7:15-25, after a good scolding we grow sorrowful and try to exert our willpower to change our behavior or attitudes only to find our flesh is too strong to resist. We end up feeling like prisoners trapped in our own bodies. After enough attempts and failures, people generally resort to one of two options: either they live a double life pretending to be a good Christian while secretly carrying on some kind of hypocrisy, or they grow exasperated with themselves and God and quit trying altogether announcing they simply aren't able to live the Christian life, so they might as well enjoy a life of sin. The tragedy here is that there really Is a way to experience genuine transformation. That cycle of frustration and condemnation so associated with Christianity is absolutely unnecessary. But in order to find freedom and live a victorious Christian life, a person must learn to "walk according to the Spirit." Isn't it time to stop scolding and start teaching people how? Somewhere over the centuries the Church forgot how to access the power of the Holy Spirit, but that's what Paul is teaching us again today. For Christians and non-Christians alike, Mormons remain a bit of an enigma – especially in the UK. In the US however there are almost 7 million and they punch above their weight in terms of political influence; notable members of congress include former senator, and one-time presidential candidate, Mitt Romney. This influence meant that a row erupted in the past fortnight when the Pentagon released its updated list of religious affiliations and listed the Church of Latter-Day Saints independently from other Christian denominations, implying members were not Christian. This move was quickly denounced, with Mike Lee – a Mormon and Republican Senator – leading the charge, calling the move ‘outrageous', the Pentagon subsequently backtracked. Yet, many other Christian denominations have long felt that Mormons are not Christians as they have their own supplemental scripture and hold different views over the Trinity and the afterlife. Mark Tooley, a methodist and friend of Holy Smoke, joins Damian Thompson to discuss the row. Are Mormons Christian? Who gets to decide whether a person is Christian or not? And can the government and state ever have a role in this debate?Produced by Patrick Gibbons.Become a Spectator subscriber today to access this podcast without adverts.
