Anders. Neuartig.

On this episode of The Prepping Academy, Patrick picks up with a Grid Down Comms Up episode. We begin with a look at the battle rhythm in the first seventy-two hours of the disaster and what that looked like for the people on the outside, who were providing communications support and processing information for those with limited access to reliable information. Next, we look at the fog of war, how that impacted operations from day zero, and how it impacted those in the disaster area, followed by a look at the communications picture inside eastern TN and western NC.   We wrap up with a what-if discussion about how the picture would have looked very different and been much more complex had the Mt Michell amateur radio repeater not been in the picture. This episode illustrates Patick's quote, "Without communication, you are just another person wondering what just happened."  Remember, when the grid goes down, you are on your own, and what you don't know can kill you. Join PrepperNet.Net - https://www.preppernet.netPrepperNet is an organization of like-minded individuals who believe in personal responsibility, individual freedoms and preparing for disasters of all origins.PrepperNet Support the showPlease give us 5 Stars! www.preppingacademy.com Contact us: https://preppingacademy.com/contact/ www.preppernet.net Amazon Store: https://amzn.to/3lheTRTwww.forrestgarvin.com

Have you ever wanted to try out tiny house living? Or go glamping in something other than a canvas tent? On this week's episode of Peak Northwest, we get it all on a little camping trip to a tiny house off the slopes of Oregon's tallest mountain. Our two-night excursion to the Mt. Hood Tiny House Village included a walk along the Salmon River, a cozy afternoon inside Timberline Lodge and a night by the fire under the stars. It was a very different kind of camping trip in a beautiful part of Oregon. Here are some highlights from this week's show: What is it like inside one of the tiny houses? The joys and trials of traveling with a baby for the first time. Why Timberline is a great stop in the cold season – and how it could be even better. Why we struggled to find a good place to eat on the mountain. Subscribe to Peak Northwest on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify or anywhere you listen to podcasts. In this episode of the Slow Style Home Podcast, I sat down with Michael Bartz, a homeowner who built and lives in a tiny home with his partner and three cats. Michael's journey to sustainable living began in 2015 after a life-changing breakup, leading him to question traditional housing and embrace the tiny house lifestyle. He built his 175-square-foot mobile home in his brother's backyard over four years, relying on YouTube, books, and the National Tiny House Jamboree for guidance. Michael later found a perfect spot to park on an elderly couple's farm, facilitating a community-oriented living arrangement. We discussed the challenges and rewards of off-grid living, the importance of aligning home design with personal values, and the impact of his podcast, 'In Over My Head.'
