Matt talks with author Todd Carnes about his new book, Burying Home: Memoir of a Mill Village Missionary. Todd grew up in the small mill town of Alabama City, Alabama. All of his grandparents worked in the cotton mill and lived in mill village homes. As a child, his family struggled under the curse of violence and addiction. This led to Todd's own struggles with addiction, which he overcame by faith while studying at the University of Alabama. During his career, he has engaged in a wide variety of disciplines, working as an engineer in Florida, a missionary in Russia and a church planter, small business owner and elected town councilman in Lexington, South Carolina. Todd married his wife, Kerri, in 1994 and they have three daughters, Laina, Amanda and Kristy.
