Happy Saturday! With Father's Day tomorrow, I just wanted to share a little bit about my dad and how thankful I am for him. I wouldn't be an entrepreneur today without his impact in my life and the lessons he taught me about hard work and entrepreneurship. I often share my birthday with Father's Day and I am thankful I do. I think the day I was born was actually on Father's Day that year (I'd have to fact check that with my mom). But both are special days and I love my dad so much. So, in honor of Father's Day, I wanted to share a bit of my story, give you a little behind the scenes look into Ashley June. I've talked about this before, so you might already know, but I grew up working at my dad's auto body shop. He was a teacher at a local community college prior to that, and we were in a position where we didn't have much money. I was qualifying for free lunch at school, and we just weren't thriving as a family. That spurred my dad into action, to take a risk and start a business. He had followed all the steps that other people thought he should, he went to college even though it wasn't really what he was into. He's a gear head, he loves working with his hands; not sitting, reading, taking notes in college classes. But, he graduated college so he could get a good job like others wanted him to. He actually started fixing cars as a teenager, but his mother didn't like that, she wanted him to go to college. It's interesting that he didn't do anything with his degree, but ended up building a business where he was able to do what he loved, support his family, and wasn't going to be financially stuck for the rest of his life. Read More… I just pray that everyone can have peace on this day, that you will cherish your dads. Whether it's your Abba Father, or your earthly father, I just pray that you can cherish that relationship. Just a quick reminder, The Selah Collective applications are open for the month. Can I build an online business in 10 hours a week? I love this question and I get it all the time. You want to build an online business but you don't want it to rule your life. So today I am going to give you some quick coaching advice and answer this question. Build the Schedule You Want Building a business and a life you love that supports your family mission and values in 10 hours a week is POSSIBLE! Now, it's not going to start at 10 hours a week, but you'll get there. You can absolutely build the schedule that you want, working as much or as little as you want. You can be there for the baseball games and school plays. You can have the freedom to travel, and to work during naptime. The most important element though, is actually showing up and being consistent. It's easy to forget because at the beginning it's so exciting, then the day after day routine sets in and it's easy to lose focus and become distracted. When we don't build in time to work on our business, we'll notice that clients start to dry up and we'll get discouraged not seeing the return for our work. So again, consistency is what will help you build the schedule that you want. Read More... Exciting Opportunities I want to remind you about the Free God-Given Online Biz Masterclass. We're going to be talking about automation today and how you can build the life you want instead of settling for the 9-5. I do want to preface this that it's totally okay to have a 9-5. There is no shame in going to work and just doing what you can and keeping life simple. My real thought though is that we were made for more and that God is more exciting than the typical day to day. If we enjoy our work and have purpose + get to live out our calling, that is a wonderful life. In Ecclesiastes, it says that having joy in one's everyday work is a good life. I think we should strive to have joy and contentment in life and work. So, today I want to focus on how automation can specifically help with this so you don't have to settle for the 9-5. First, let's talk about what automation is. What is Automation? Automation is basically how you can automate and simplify the steps of something to get to the point of completion. When we think about automation, we often think about manufacturing, or factories. And maybe about Henry Ford and the assembly line. In manufacturing, when things are being assembled, there is also the concept of batching things. Read More... I think you would agree that our goal is to be able to enjoy our lives and our work. Wouldn't it be great to be able to spend time with our families, not having to worry about work, but being present in the moments of life with our loved ones. I have some thoughts for you today. Do you ever wonder if you have been set up to fail when it comes to wealth? I've heard so many interesting things over the last few years, with all the craziness going on, that have got me thinking more about wealth. We're so used to the American dream and I love it, I'm all for the American Dream. I can create a business, I can make money while doing something I'm passionate about. There's so many wonderful things about it. But when it comes to building wealth, I'm questioning what we've been taught. Are we doing it all wrong? If you look at the uber wealthy families, they live very differently. We always hear that we shouldn't do business with family. But a lot of these wealthy families do business with family. And maybe they even live in the same family home. Also, in different places around the world, multi-generational families are living together. As opposed to our system where once you go to college, you move out and all the different family members are paying separate mortgages and rent, and all the money is spread out in different places. It's just got me thinking… Seven Streams of Income To start off, there are seven streams of income to diversify your portfolio. The Bible even talks about diversifying, and I really think we should. But, Americans often only have one stream of income. They go to their jobs, maybe have a 401k and that's it. So, when they stop working, they'll be in a tight place. I think we need to be striving to diversify our income whether that's in real estate, stocks, online business, local business, job, etc. And then how can we build in those passive income streams, or make things as passive as possible. If we're only making money through our job, then we're probably not going to end up being that wealthy. Not that wealth is the ultimate goal, but it makes you wonder why we're in this system that has us capped at what we can make at our jobs. Read More... This month is all about automation, and creating courses is actually a GREAT way to build an online business that sells on auto-pilot. And the thing is, EVERYONE has something to teach. What is trading time for dollars? Trading time for dollars is when you're spending your days working and your income is capped at however much you can output. If you work 40 hours, you get X amount for those 40 hours and then you're capped. So literally, you are trading your time for dollars. It's not realistic to think that everything can be on autopilot or that passive income can be totally passive, but we want to get as close as we can. Once you reach the point of maximizing your passive income, your hour can be worth $1000 vs. $50. And you're not just getting paid when you show up. You're getting paid behind the scenes with your funnels that are constantly selling your content that is living on the internet forever. There's so much opportunity, but our goal is to get out of the rat race and start being efficient with our time. Time is your most valuable gift Time truly is your most valuable gift and this is why I hate hourly pay structures. With all hourly jobs, you show up for your eight hour shift and that's all you do. You get paid for eight hours no matter how hard you work or how quickly you work. For me, I want to make the most money in the least amount of time. I want to be as efficient and productive as possible, making the biggest impact I can in the least amount of time. Time is so valuable and it's something you can never get back. Investing in business is not just with money, but we have to think of the time investment we are putting in. If we're only focused on trying to build-build-build, and it's taking up all our time because we're not being efficient and not looking for the scale potential, that's the same as trading time for dollars. So, when we're building an online business, the awesome thing is that we can sell our content or services pretty much on autopilot. How can we do this? The scaling potential is HUGE in the online space. One of the reasons I left the local space was that if I was going to scale, my operating costs would be through the roof. Compare that to an online business where your operating costs can be low and your reach can be huge and impactful. Read More... Play Episode Listen Later Jun 4, 2022 26:34

Happy June! Today we're going to have a quick chat about God's purpose for the rainbow, and how we can hold firm to what he says instead of what the culture says. This is a touchy subject and I want to be clear that my heart is not to be aggressive or mean; it's not to hurt people's feelings. But, I do think as Christians, we have to stand for Biblical truth and unfortunately that often goes against the culture these days. Our Symbol Was Stolen I want us to remember what the rainbow really stands for because it has been stolen from us - our religious symbol of God's promise was hijacked. When people see the rainbow they no longer think about God. He has been mocked. This beautiful symbol God gave his people has been mocked and Christians have just let it go. But now it's time to take it back. I don't think the best way to do that is to necessarily always argue and talk about everything we're against. I think we really need to talk about what the rainbow is for. The rainbow was actually commandeered in the seventies when the LGBTQ movement started to gain some steam. And now because our culture is so divided, many Christians have been silent because they're afraid of being labeled a bigot, or have their businesses attacked. But right now, we need all hands on deck. We need to start conversations again about these things, and not be afraid to speak the truth of the Bible. What Does the Rainbow Actually Stand For? The rainbow is ultimately God's promise for protection and a covenant with man to never destroy mankind again. His judgment was restrained after flooding the earth and he promised Noah that he would never again wipe out creation like that. It's an incredible and beautiful symbol because it's such a picture of the gospel, of God's mercy for his creation. Every time we see a rainbow, we are reminded of God's love and his promises for his people. And we don't have to be a slave to this world, to the culture that we live in. Christ died to give us new life, an eternal life in heaven with him. A Picture of the Gospel So, every time you look at the rainbow, think about the gospel and the beautiful promise God gives us in Genesis 9:8-16. I encourage you this month to be reminded of what the rainbow actually stands for and have courage to share it. We need to stop censoring ourselves out of fear of the fallout. Don't be silenced by yourself or anyone else. Speak the truth, but speak it in love. Allow the person you are in private to be the person you are in public, and God will work out the rest especially if your business is on the line. Sales don't have to be complicated. I think as business owners we feel guilty about selling sometimes because we are afraid that we will come across as the sleazy car salesman and people will feel pressured to purchase what we have. What starts out as a real concern for the people we are working with turns into an insecurity on our end - which then hurts our bottom line and doesn't allow us to help others as we have been called to help. So in today's episode, we are breaking the mold when it comes to overcoming some of these mental blocks around sales. The thing is, it really doesn't have to be that hard. You are providing an option for a consumer, and they are mature enough to make a decision as to whether or not they should invest with you. You would actually be doing them a disservice if you didn't offer up what you built - because it could truly help them with reducing their pain points. Never feel guilty for giving your potential clients a choice to work with you or not. And never feel guilty spending time communicating the value, benefits and information regarding that offer. Connection is actually your biggest selling point - if you can connect with your potential clients then you are miles ahead of your competition. That's why branding is so important. If you can learn to speak to their heart (which is so much easier when you run a business authentic to your calling), then selling will honestly feel like a conversation. Not to mention, sales start before you even officially pitch! Lastly, remember that they started following you first. These clients were interested in your brand for a reason, and they said yes to you once they hit that follow button, subscribed to emails, contacted you and more. It doesn't bother them to keep giving them value and presenting them with an offer. In fact, if it does, then it means they were not your client to begin with. And that's okay! God has special clients just for you. Need help learning how to sell in an authentic way without feeling like an icky marketer? The Selah Collective applications are open, and we are only accepting 5 new students this month. I get this soooo much, you want your online business to just grow, grow, grow and you feel discouraged if things are moving slowly. A lot of gurus will tell you that growth is overnight, but the reality is, it takes time to build a business. I also want to address the concept of passive income -> I think it is a bit of a myth. There are things you can automate, but your business is a living organism. You have clients to take care of, and you'll have to adjust, adapt, and change things at times. With all that, I understand why you might be frustrated, confused...not knowing if it will work out. So on this episode of the She's Wild & Radiant Christian Business Podcast, I want to talk about coping, about walking through different seasons in your business, and I hope to encourage you to enjoy the journey and enjoy the season you're in. God Knows The Season You're In God knows the season that you're in, he knows exactly where you are and what you need. When you see someone else having the success you want though, it's easy to become envious, feeling like your time is not coming right away as it should. I want to tell you that God KNOWS exactly what he's doing! God has it handled, he is in charge of the timing and we don't have to fight it because it's ultimately for our betterment. If you're having a hard time coping with the season you're in, just know you're right where you are for a reason. God knows how badly you want to build your business, he put that desire inside you. Just trust that he's got it handled. He'll say when it's time to grow and in the meantime, you can build your business the right way. Build It The Right Way Those who are quick to success are going to be quick to lose what they have. It's like the one hit wonder concept. When we are gifted with too much all at once that we didn't have to work hard for, strive for, shed tears for, we rarely appreciate it or have the ability to handle what such quick growth entails. You need goals, something to work for, metrics you want to hit. You need to be ready to build your business the right way. Read more... EPISODE LINKS Applications are open for the Selah Collective. Welcome to Selah Moment Saturday. My heart for these Saturday podcasts is to give you encouragement, give you something to pray about, reflect on, and dig deeper into scripture going into the weekend and next week. So on this episode of the She's Wild & Radiant podcast, we are going to have a Selah moment and I'm excited to share what God has been putting on my heart. I hope to give you some encouragement about the season of life we are in; I believe it's time to drop the weight of what has been holding us down. Dropping what is weighing you down So many of you have been feeling the weight of so many things and I can definitely relate. The last couple years have been so heavy with things happening in the world, in families, just so many heavy burdens. If you're like me, I have been noticing that God has been asking us to go into a season of simplification. So, I have been working to drop things that are causing me anxiety, things that have been weighing me down. I've been seeing this not only in the spiritual things, but also physical things in my life. I feel like after everything we've been through in the last few years, God is calling us to step into a new season; a season of letting go of what's been weighing you down. Whether that's the past, your relationships, or anything that God might be telling you to let go of. For me, over the last few years, I have had some friendships become distant or break. A lot of it has been because of what has happened in the world and the stand I have taken as a Christian. When you're seeing the book of Revelation start to play out and you share it, it offends people because a lot of people don't want to see it. So, I've lost friendships, had people abandon me. These are some ways that God has physically been removing things from my life. Read more... EPISODE LINKS Applications for the Selah Collective are open! Today, on the She's Wild & Radiant Christian Business Podcast, I wanted to give you some quick tips and thoughts I have about niching down your target audience, which is a common question I get. I think that the people who haven't niched down just don't grow. This is because they're lacking aim, lacking focus. Barriers to Niching Down A lot of people don't niche down out of a place of fear. They worry about hurting someone's feelings and worry about not being open to everyone...I think this INCLUSION mentally actually hurts us and is more of a cultural thing than a sound business strategy. Not in a bad way, but I think that if you go from the place of inclusion you are actually marketing to a specific type of person. This could actually hurt what you're trying to build because you won't be aligned with the type of client that God has called you to work with. You have to know who your target audience is and create content and services for them. This has nothing to do with politics or discrimination, it's basic marketing strategy. For example, when I was at a photography conference a few years ago, I went to a class that was talking about marketing to the wedding industry. They were saying that to market well in the wedding photography industry, you have to have a really inclusive portfolio, including couples of different races and sexual orientations. For me, as a Christian Business Owner, I absolutely would not diversify my portfolio with things that go against my biblical beliefs, such as inclusion of diverse sexual orientation. However, getting back to strictly marketing strategy, there are different parts of the country where your portfolio is going to look a little bit different. In Colorado, for example, the population of the African American community is only 6%. So it wouldn't make sense to have a super diverse portfolio when you live in an area where your clients coming in are not super diverse. It has nothing to do with the political race discussion. In today's episode of the She's Wild & Radiant Christian Business Podcast, we're talking all about retreat planning. I thought it was the perfect time for this discussion since I am currently in North Carolina, having a blast at my student retreat! I have planned a lot of retreats, and have come up with a pretty good system that keeps costs down, gives an ease to the planning process, and helps create and foster a sense of community. There are lots of ways to build retreats, but today, I want to share with you the system that works for me. Different Approaches- students vs. non-students Just a disclaimer- events don't make a lot of money. Any live event or retreat is naturally going to be more expensive than an event you host online. Make sure to go in with realistic expectations. Hopefully you won't be in the “red”, but just don't expect to make a large profit. The typical model for hosting retreats or events is to invite non-students. The concept with this is that you're going to bring in potential clients and pitch your higher ticket programs with the goal of gaining new clients on the back end. I personally do more events for my students. I enjoy creating an experience for those in my paid community. This approach has worked well for me and it has really created a community of culture within my business. And I've found that I don't have to market or advertise my events very much. My students look forward to it and I have some that sign up as soon as registration opens. That being said, I'd actually love to plan a retreat in Costa Rica for non-students at some point. Top 5 Tips Whatever approach you take with your retreat, student or non-student, the tips I have to share in terms of planning will work either way. But before we get into these tips, I recommend planning your retreat 5-6 months out so that you can fill the retreat. If you're having to go through an official marketing process to attract non-students, you may want to start planning 10 months out. Here are my top 5 tips: Read More EPISODE LINKS I'm excited to announce that last week I opened up the Selah Collective waitlist, and I'm actually opening up applications this Thursday. Is summer the right time to start working on your online business or course? In this episode of the She's Wild and Radiant Christian Business Podcast, I'll be sharing my thoughts with you and helping you decide if summer is the right season to dive into something new and build + scale your business. Trust God As believers we should always be asking God where He wants us, having discernment and being at peace with our choices. That being said, it's important that you trust when the Lord keeps putting something on your heart. When God continually brings things to the forefront of your mind, that is usually when it's time to step out in bold faith. Clarity comes with action The Bible says that God is a lamp unto our feet. He shows us what we need, and how to move forward, whether it is one step at a time or a giant jump forward. You don't always need to know how it'll unfold. I encourage you to start with an idea of where you're going, and then just go! When you take action, you gain clarity. Why wait and miss the train? Summer may not seem like the right time, but speaking from experience, opportunity rarely comes to us when it's convenient. You'll always have other commitments pulling for your time and attention. You know how the saying goes….the best time to start is yesterday. So take the step and boldly walk forward. The reality is, you will have uncertainty with any leap you make. You may never feel fully ready, so don't let yourself be led by feelings. Instead trust the Holy Spirit and courageously conquer the unknown this summer! Summertime as a business owner can be tricky. You might wonder how to schedule family and business during the busy summer months, well I've got you covered. In this episode of the She's Wild & Radiant Podcast I'll be sharing with you how I handle a busy summer with family, manage my business, and much more. I'm excited to share my plans for summer as a mom, believer, and business woman in this episode of the Christian Business Podcast. New Seasons and Traveling If you want to get a jump on what you're doing this summer now is the time to be making decisions and planning. You are probably like me and are more than ready to step into a new season. My biggest tips for traveling during the summer are to make a list and look at a calendar. It is important to know where you need to be, and when you'll need to be there. Then comes the fun part of researching and planning activities and getting them on your calendar. Accept a Slower Pace and Enjoy Time It is time to think about how you can plan your summer around the things that you want to do with the people you love, instead of planning your summer around working your business. I'm looking forward to camping, road trips, and being in the moment. It is important to schedule your down time. Plan for smaller work hours and fit your business into the gaps. You have permission to accept a slower pace and focus on being present. Pre-Plan Your Biz Schedule and Commitments Right now is a great time to be thinking ahead. Know what you're going to be launching and when you're going to do it. Break down when you'll need to be working on projects. Summer goes quickly so be thinking about which summer months you'll be working on specific things, and how you can better prepare yourself for fall. I am praying that you will have a productive and FUN summer for your business and your family. Take care of yourself, enjoy every moment, and thank you for being a part of the She's Wild and Radiant community! These days, Americans have started living in a way that requires two incomes. This has become a problem and is leading to the breakdown of family units because parents aren't around to instill strong family values. Today on our Christian Business Podcast, our guest host, Lisa Lord, is breaking down ways to cut costs and make extra money on the side so YOU can be the one raising your family. Kids are a product of who they spend the most time with, so make sure it is YOU! Who is raising your kids? After all the expenses of childcare, how much money are you really making? Is it worth it to have someone else raising your kids and instilling their values instead of your own? The window of time you have with your kids at home is so short and it is the time they are most impressionable. Make sure they are learning the values and lessons that reflect Christ and your family morals. How can you cut costs so you can be home more often? Do you need to get rid of cable or a streaming service? Perhaps you could eat at home more or skip a family vacation. If you want to be at home more, you are likely going to need to adjust your spending habits. I promise, the sacrifice will be worth it! Brainstorm ways to make extra money. Take a hard look at your bottom line. How much do you need to live the life you want? Then you have to either adjust your income or adjust your lifestyle. Crunch the numbers to see how much money you need to make and then figure out how you can supplement your income by cleaning houses, being a virtual assistant, working at the kids' school or doing childcare out of your home. It might feel like a step backward in your career, but the lifelong reward for your children is unbeatable. It might take sacrifice in the short run to spend time with your kids and teach them Christian values, but it will pay off in the long run. There are a ton of ways to make extra money to supplement your income and give you family freedom in the process. EPISODE LINKS Want to hear more from Lisa Lord? Have you thought about how toxic mom culture can be? We go into parenthood with these big dreams, but often are disillusioned when the hard moments hit. And culturally speaking, we've created a dynamic where moms aren't thriving - they are merely surviving, and off of fumes to boot. Well, today on the podcast, we have my student, Jennifer Lacey, as a guest! She is sharing her wisdom on how to overcome the toxic mom culture and step into the joy and purpose of motherhood through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. From her own experience with adult ADHD and depression, Jennifer is pulling back the curtain on how she has learned to parent with grace and vulnerability. Toxic Mom Culture There is a permeating trend that says moms are a hot mess with no sleep and messy hair. It is true that being a mom is hard, but we need to make sure we are leaning into God's strength and not our own. When we lean into the Holy Spirit and find our identity in Christ, we can find love, joy, peace and patience on a deeper level. By embodying these characteristics, we can model Christ's character to our children. Don't Do it Alone You can't and shouldn't do “the mom thing” alone. We were made to be in fellowship with others and we need a trusted community that can come alongside us to help in the journey. By combining a loving faith community and the Holy Spirit, we get a power packed punch to help us in the ring of parenting. Embrace the Season - But Don't Stay There We need to be patient with ourselves and others who are struggling with heavy issues like depression, anxiety and mental illness. Our kids are watching, and they see how we deal with these issues. When we model healthy ways of dealing with heavy things though, our kids see that and are able to be more open with their struggles as well. It is time for women to put themselves in a place where they can be physically and mentally available to their kids. EPISODE LINKS Want to hear more from Jennifer Lacey? 65. Save Our Kids: An Urgent Plea To Steer the Ship NOW & Fight The Cultural Seduction That's Poisoning Their Hearts and Minds

It is time to steer the ship and make some hard decisions when it comes to parenting our children in this fallen world. The cultural impact on our kids, teens and younger generation is widespread, deep and scary. It is time to be present for our kids and filter what is coming into our homes so we can raise them with biblical convictions and Godly influence. Today's Christian Podcast is a plea for us to rise up and raise our children to be IN the world and not OF the world. We Need Our Little Men to Rise Up Men, fathers and husbands, it is time to rise up and teach our boys how to be Godly men. By using the Godly examples in the bible, the men in our lives can teach our boys how to be independent thinkers, leaders, and have strong masculinity. Boys need to get outside, be rough and tumble and learn how to become strong, Godly men. The Jezebel Spirit Needs to Leave Our Girls Jezebel is a sneaky spirit of control and seduction that wants to manipulate our girls into using seduction to get what they want. This spirit takes power away from men, which means it is silencing their warrior hearts. By sexualizing them at a very young age, the Jezebel spirit is teaching girls that they can get what they want by using their sexuality and body to manipulate and control. We Decide As Parents What The Future Will Look Like It is time for us, as parents, to take a hard look at the influences we let into our homes. What are the major influences on our kids? Do they honor God? Perhaps it is time to go against the culture and take a hard look at what influences we are allowing over our children. Do we need to make some changes? Perhaps you need to find a different school or homeschool your kids. Maybe you need to get rid of streaming services or the internet on phones or devices. By being intentional and evaluating influences on our children, we can take back what the culture has stolen from us. As parents, we need to course correct and decide what we're standing for and not just accept the cultural standard. It is time to be proactive and not reactionary when it comes to the cultural climate. Let's make sure that we are protecting our kids, families, wives, and husbands and look to the Bible for our moral standard. It is up to us to encourage the younger generation to be of high moral character and to become men and women who are counter-cultural and pleasing to God. Do you have a lot of guilt and perfectionism when it comes to your business? Owning your own business comes with a lot of pressure and often it leads to feeling like you are letting someone down or like you are always making mistakes. We really have to accept that as business owners, we are going to make mistakes. This week's Christian business podcast is all about letting go of guilt, giving yourself grace and moving forward so you don't continue down that path. Accept that we can't be perfect It isn't about perfection all the time. We make mistakes and the sooner we realize that the sooner we can stop beating ourselves up when the mistakes happen. There are seasons of life that are busier, and our brains are on overload, which means mistakes happen more often during those seasons. Ask for grace + forgiveness The first step you need to take is admitting the mistake and asking for forgiveness. People are usually understanding and sympathetic if you tell them what is going on and openly talk about your mistake. It will make you feel better and let your customers or clients know that you are human too! Not only do you need grace from those around you, but you need to give grace to yourself as well. Allow yourself some grace and don't be so hard on yourself! Don't settle for continued errors It is impossible to show up 110% every time, all the time, but that doesn't give you an excuse to not be prepared or not do your best. If you are noticing and consistent short-coming, then figure out a system to help fix the problem: set reminders, hire an assistant, write it down, do what it takes to make it right in the future. Failure is inevitable, but the better environment you can create, the stronger team dynamic you have, having clients who are really in alignment with your vision and care about you as a person and the stronger family unit you have, the more grace and forgiveness there will be all around. As business owners, we need to be more comfortable with admitting when we are wrong, fixing consistent problems and giving ourselves grace in the process. This Christian Business Podcast episode is a must listen for all the mompreneurs out there. Stop splitting Your Biz and Fam It is a shift of mindset. Our kids need to see the hard work and sacrifice we are making in order to create wealth for the family. Including them in the process is SO important. Yes, we need to have clear boundaries about work time and family time, but our kids also need to see how to build wealth and by doing that, it alleviates a lot of pressure. Find Your True North Sit down as a family and come up with your values and mission. They should directly align with your business values and mission. By having these two aligned, it makes decision making much easier and gives your business and family a consistency that is so important. Make it a Family Affair Let your kids sit on your lap and see what you are working on. Tell them when you are working on something important and how THEY can help. By including them in the process and communicating what needs to be done and why it is important, they are learning what is important and seeing how to build a business. Continually have conversations at the table so they can see the ins and outs of business and why it is important to the family Create White Space If you don't create downtime and white space on your calendar, it isn't going to magically appear. Starting an online business can be so daunting. You know you want to do it, but you don't know where to start and it feels like it will never happen, or it will take a really long time. The reality is, there are a few simple things that will help you get to this point quicker than you would've imagined! The sixth episode of the Christian Business Podcast Series Captivated: Courses & Coaching is full of tips on how to create a successful online business with consistent monthly income. Mindset Are there some limiting beliefs that are holding you back in your business? The biggest mindsets that limit businesses are paralysis, fear, immediate gratification, and money. By looking at each of these and evaluating their influence on our business, we can shift the mindset and move past the barriers they create. Simple Sales Machine By creating one signature offer, you can focus on building and perfecting that offer instead of going a million different directions with smaller offers. I recommend having one large offer and sticking with it until you make a million dollars. Don't over complicate your sales machine. Community This is SO important for you as a business owner and also for your business. Creating or being a part of a community of like-minded people who share the same beliefs and values is incredibly valuable and necessary. Being an online business owner can be lonely and iron sharpens iron! Find or build a community that you can share ideas, wins, losses and deep relationships with. It will make your business more successful and will be a huge asset to your mental health and well-being. You can build a business that is in alignment with the life you crave. You don't have to spend another year waiting for a breakthrough and floundering. The time is NOW! You can run with power and purpose and have an authentic spirit-led brand. Running a business as a Christian and specifically marketing to Christians can be tricky. There are a lot of limiting beliefs when it comes to earning money as a believer. But the reality is, the Bible is full of abundance, and it isn't about the prosperity gospel but rather the nature of God's goodness. In this, the fifth week of the Christian Business Podcast series Captivating: Course Creators and Coaches, I am sharing what it took to earn $140k in 3 weeks. Purpose Meets Passion When I first started in the online world, I was marketing to the secular world and it felt void of depth. When I took a leap and niched down into a faith based market and ultimately overcame the fear of what people would think, my world changed! Create a Simple Sales Machine Test, test, test! Don't get bummed out if something doesn't work. The key is to stay focused and create a simple sales machine from the beginning and selling ONE thing. Have authenticity with what you are selling, what you are creating and do it with intense purpose. Launching With Intention and Alignment You need to launch with intentionality, knowing that the timing is right. Create anticipation and build brand awareness to nurture the clients that are coming in. Your messaging might change from season to season, depending on what you are launching and that is okay. By creating a repeatable launch system, you can save time and energy by replicating what has worked in the past and just change the content to match your current product or program. In case you don't know, there is no such thing as an overnight success! You have to step into your purpose and allow your passion to guide your steps. When passion and purpose come alongside intention and alignment, magic happens! You have to be consistent, test things out and then when you find what works….repeat it! Don't be discouraged, keep testing, trying, failing, starting over, finding and repeating what works and your business will grow. Running an online business is not all butterflies and rainbows, but I have managed to find a balance, rhythm and a freedom that makes it all worthwhile. There are seasons of hustle, but by creating good systems and working my hours around my family schedule, I have made a business that is profitable, flexible and life giving. Within 6 months of starting my business, I was able to work 20 hours a week and hit the 6-figure mark and I want to teach YOU to do the same in part 4 of our Christian Business Podcast series Captivated: Courses & Coaching. Scheduling: If you have kids, it is best to create a work calendar that coincides with their school calendar. Then you have the flexibility to be less busy when they are home or on break. The beauty of an online business is that YOU control your hours, launches and busy seasons. Create a Support System: There are going to be seasons in your business when you need more support, like during a big launch. Be sure to communicate with your spouse and family your expectations and needs ahead of time so they can adjust their schedule or help a little more with the kids or house. Clearly setting expectations in your marriage is key for making your business run smoothly as well. Ask for help! This might look like hiring extra childcare, a house cleaner or a virtual assistant. Discipline: I love working and creating, but sometimes I need to take a step back and have discipline to say no or to stop working to spend more time with my family. Other times I need discipline to complete a big task or launch. This can be a tricky balance, but by taking a hard look at your priorities, you can figure out where you need to be most disciplined in order to have the balance you desire. Often it means that you have to hunker down and hustle during certain seasons so that you can have breaks and down time with the kids when they are home. Every business has seasons, and it isn't always easy. But often when you put in the hard work and are disciplined, you will reap the rewards and be able to enjoy seasons of rest and fruitfulness. Are you ready to take the next step in your career by creating an online course or coaching program, but you are stuck on how to START? You might be questioning your gifts, feel like an imposter, or that you aren't good enough. Don't let those lies take hold! If you know even 10% more than someone else, you are uniquely positioned to teach something that can help someone. Sometimes the hardest part is choosing WHAT to teach or coach on, but in this Christian Business Podcast, I teach you to narrow the focus and tap into what God has in store for you Your Zone of Genius: When choosing a topic for your first course or coaching program, look at your passions, successes and where your zone of genius lies. Sometimes you want to teach what you are most passionate about, but you might need to start with something else. Perhaps something that has been a success for you and then you can build into your passion as you build your online presence. Use your testimony to speak, build and teach and that will fuel your program. Simplify in the Beginning: In the beginning, start small and really niche down. Creating a huge course or program can be cumbersome and overwhelming. If you start with something small that you are really equipped to teach on, you can build and make mistakes on a smaller level. Then as you are successful in the small things, you can add and develop larger programs and expand your business. Specific Course Ideas: Find something that connects with you, keep it simple and go with it! How to oil paint in 30 days, how to crochet gloves, how to parent kids with ADHD, investing in crypto, how to organize your kitchen. The ideas are endless! Think about something you KNOW how to do and someone else wants to LEARN how to do. It is about serving and helping your audience and creating something for them, as well as sharing your knowledge and expertise. The online course and coaching world feels intimidating, but by taking small steps and sharing your knowledge with others, you can expand your business. We are kicking off a Christian Business Podcast series called Captivated: The Course Creators and Online Coaches series. If you are a course creator, a consultant wanting to build an online business, or you've already started an online business and you just haven't been getting a lot of traction, you do not want to miss the next six weeks! I'm going to take you behind the scenes of my business, give you a backstage pass of the things I've gone through, what I've learned through the process, and also help you build an online business that is ultimately in alignment with where God has called you for this season. This week we are focusing on my background story and how I knew it was time to step away from my local service business and jump into the online world. Changing Passion: I was starting to have seasons of burnout with my photography business, especially as I had young children and it was hard to shoot while pregnant and it was hard to be gone so often when they were so little. When you are not excited about what you are doing, or it feels heavy, it might be time to move on and close a door or chapter. These changes can be bittersweet but they can propel you to do something bigger or better. Wanting to Scale: I wanted to scale but in a local, service based business, that meant building a physical team and I didn't want that pressure. I wanted to build something bigger than myself and go deeper into helping people. Ultimately that led me to building an online coaching business. Perhaps you feel God calling you to something beyond a local business so that you can impact a larger audience! Following God's Leading: Sometimes it takes a leap of faith. It might mean turning away business, inquiries or money (like I had to do), or perhaps it is making a pivot in your business that is scary. If God is pressing something on your heart, it might be time to take the leap of faith and go into an unknown future for your biz. Lean in to what God is speaking over you and follow his leading. If you want to build an Christian online business or start a Christian coaching business, follow along on the Christian Business Podcast for the next 5 weeks as I continue to deep dive into how I built my successful online biz. 56. 3-Steps To Reading & Studying The Bible As An Entrepreneur

Have you ever struggled to sit down and study the Bible? Maybe you feel like you're not a great reader or you're having a hard time with pulling out messages or you just don't know what to study. In today's episode, we are going to talk about how to study the Bible and I'm going to break it down into three steps to help you relate it to your business on a daily basis. It is about creating good habits, figuring out where to start, pulling deeper meanings from the bible and relating it to your life and your business. This Christian Business Podcast will help you, as an entrepreneur, dive into God's word on the daily and apply it to your everyday life. Choosing What to Study: If you are newer to the bible, you might want to get recommendations for a solid, biblical study. Or you can ask God to reveal things and as the Holy Spirit leads, you can look up and study topics that God has put on your heart. Recently, I have been working on a monthly program for entrepreneurs who want a bible study that helps them with decision fatigue and being consistently in the bible. Pull Out Deeper Meaning: If you want to go deeper in the scriptures, look at several different translations of the bible. Often, you will find different words and by looking up those words it can also help you better understand the message God is speaking to you. Writing in a journal can also be powerful when it comes to gleaning more from your time in God's word. It can be a place for prayers, thoughts, what you have learned, connections you have made or notes from the study you are working on. There is so much power in His word, and He is continually revealing Himself to us through scripture. How Does It Relate to Your Business: It isn't about centering the bible around our life but centering our life on the bible. Reading and understanding God's word spills over into all aspects of our life and helps us deal with customers, conflict, money, work/life balance and living a life on purpose. Centering your life on the bible is about taking in knowledge and wisdom and applying it to your everyday life. Just like anything in life, bite-sized habits make for big transformation. By spending time in God's word on a consistent basis, it can change your life and your business. Getting into the scripture reminds me on a daily basis to soften my heart and love like Jesus. Marina and Ashley started to notice that the current fitness culture wasn't honoring God. They found that if they were going to make a change in the world and really reclaim the culture in all aspects, not just fitness, they needed to reclaim it on the spiritual side, as well as the physical side. So, they started Jab Cross Jab to combine worship with workouts. Their dream of owning a business that honored God and met their goals has been a road of obedience and through a series of open and closed doors, they have created a new kind of business that meets both the physical and spiritual needs of women. Their advice about starting a new business that honors God is on the podcast. God is preparing you: We are not just called to survive, but to thrive. The world is moving away from God, and he has been calling us back to Him. By spending time in God's presence and asking Him what comes next, He is preparing you and paving the way for His plans. By exercising that obedience, we get to see God's design play out. Reject the Current Culture: Instead of focusing on the self-love and “me time” that the world is promoting, we need to focus on worship, time with God and that our bodies are a temple. By flipping the narrative, we can use and move our bodies with intention and make it a spiritual and physical act. Instead of wanting to look good in a bikini, you can think about being a good steward of the body God has entrusted you. Live in Community: By creating a community of women, we have been able to come together and worship while doing our workouts. We have found that networks and connections provide a structure of accountability where you can be challenged to show up and shine your light into the darkness. Surround yourself with people who will challenge culture, live according to God's will and encourage you to live your life with purpose. This Christian business podcast is sure to encourage you as you endeavor to honor God in your business and your sphere of influence! EPISODE LINKS Want to hear more from Marina and Ashley?
