Hey HBs! Another friend is here! Jenny Nordbak joins Erin and Melody to discuss her new podcast Bonkers Romance and her romance debut HIS LEADING LADY. She's releasing a scorchingly hot contemporary romance about a Hollywood A-List actor who's trying to roughen up his squeaky clean image and an elite dominatrix who doesn't want the limelight, but can't help but be drawn to his mysterious charisma. There's fake dating and BDSM training and it's a book you absolutely have to read! Then, we recap Netflix rom-com He's All That, a gender bent remake of 90's treasure She's All That. Come play with us! Bonus Content: Matthew Lillard is a national treasure, wax play Jenny doesn't approve of, The Matrix vs. Big Hero Six, Mel's special "party backbend," Mel flexes her horse girl cred yet again, we image horse car washes, bestiality loopholes for centaur romances, and nutella. It's a ride! Lady Loves: Mel: Amazon's new musical Cinderella with Billy Porter. It's so delicious even while being extremely cringey. Erin: Drive Me Crazy, the far superior gender-bent remake of She's All That with Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier's floppy curls. ALSO, it's spooky season! Enjoy being a pumpkinslut without shame! Jenny: the podcast "I Will Teach You to Be Rich" with Ramit Sethi. It's real life couples talking about real life money issues, filled with specifics and marriage counseling. Follow Jenny on Instagram and Twitter! 1999 was quite a year for teen movies: Cruel Intentions. 10 Things I Hate About You. Drive Me Crazy. Jawbreaker. And of course, "She's All That" starring Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook. The Pygmalion adaptation focuses on high school teens who fall in love in the midst of a cruel bet. And Rolando was surprised how dark the film could be at times. Was high school ever really this mean? Then, flash forward to 2021 when Netflix dropped "He's All That," a retelling of the beloved teen movie but with a twist: The girl gives the guy a popularity makeover. Because equality? The film explores the fragile relationship between teenagers and social media. Does it actually deliver on a message? Listen to find out. Netflix made a gender-swapped version of the teen classic "She's All That," and you'd better believe we watched it. Join us as we discuss "He's All That," asking a wide range of questions including:-Does Addison Rae's TikTok dancing fame translate into a strong on-screen acting presence? (Spoiler: no)-What constitutes a good promposal?-Why did they write a movie about an influencer without bothering to do even a modicum of research about the influencing economy?-Horses — how do they work?-Is it possible to replicate the magic of She's All That's infamous synchronized dance number? In which Kat and Alex long for the Emmy-award winning acting on the CW. Also, Kat discovered after we recorded this episode that the screenwriter for the original She's All That is the same screenwriter for He's All That! It does explain how the terrible dialogue comes off. (Insert Steve Buscemi "how do you do, fellow kids" GIF here.) What up!? This week Dereck and Austin talk about He's All That, Varsity Blues, Lord of the Rings, more triple-A movie talk, We Are The World (1985), a tiny bit of football, the VMA's, Conor McGregor vs. MGK, and much more!
This week we're giving our thoughts the new Netflix gender-swapped remake “He's All That”, starring Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan, and how it compares to the original 1999 version “She's All That”. Plus some early thoughts on Dear Evan Hanson and what we're watching this week (spoiler: we are watching the same thing and we even agree on it).
The queen of Tiktok & Gen Z, Addison Rae is here!!! The triple threat who I'm obsessed with talks about how she went from a small town Louisiana girl to a mega star, friends with celebrities like the Kardashians and starring in the new Netflix romcom “He's All That.” At only 20 years old Addison made all of her dreams come true. She tells me all about what that wild ride has been like, how she stays grounded and kind, and what she's currently focusing on. Produced by Dear Media

On the show today… The new Netflix movie He's All That might have been slammed with bad reviews but its leading lady, TikTok star Addison Rae, has just come out on top with a surprise career twist. And thanks to his private Instagram messages being leaked to the world, it looks like Scott Disick and his girlfriend Amelia Hamlin are over for good (much to the relief of her famous parents). Their break-up has been linked to a pretty attention-grabbing t-shirt, but it's a move that's been done before. So let's talk about the day Julia Roberts T-shirt started a tabloid war. Plus, everyone is talking about actor and comedian John Mulaney, and it's got nothing to do with his new TV show. After months of speculation, John confirmed that he is dating actress Olivia Munn and, in a plot twist, the couple are also expecting their first child. It's a lovely announcement, but everyone is focused on how they really met and it's a wild story. This week's sister chat portion of the episode includes talk of bank holidays, working over the weekend, late night massages, hippie shit, botox, skincare (lengthy section on this) & birth charts. SKIPPERS If you want to cut directly to the main discussion of the week He's All That, the remake of the cinematic masterpiece She's All That, go to the 22:44 mark. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS First off, the sisters talk about the biggest looming question that came out of watching the trailer for this movie, is Rachel Leigh Cook is in fact playing the same character from She's All That? After that crucial piece of information is answered Elizabeth and Sarah spend a lot of time wondering whether or not the writers actually consulted any Gen Zers during the making of this film. From performing the classic Brandy-Monica joint “The Boy is Mine” at karaoke to eating Pizza Hut a lot of the decisions made were headscratchers. The only thing that rang true is the amount of time spent on social media, which felt exhausting to these two millennials. Tangents during this episode include but are not limited to; go-to karaoke songs, horses, birth certificates and Matthew Lillard. If nothing else they both agree, "Kiss Me" is still iconic.
Episode 75 of the All Spoiler Recap wades through the various product placements to spoil the gender-swapped remake HE'S ALL THAT. We follow a guy from hot to more hot! Complete the journey with Julia Cunningham and her guest, Dylan Wilcox.

We're so happy to be together again on Breakfast All Day. We took a couple weeks off at the end of summer, but Christy, Matt and Alonso are back with reviews of the musical “Cinderella,” the horror sequel “Candyman,” Addison Rae's rom-com remake “He's All That,” and “Swan Song,” with its lovely lead performance from Udo Kier. In news, we talk about what we've been up to over vacation, the Telluride and Venice film festivals, the opening this week of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings” (and why none of us has seen it), Patty Jenkins‘ streaming comments, Miles Teller‘s covid infection, new release dates for several big movies (including “Top Gun: Maverick”), the fake Keanu Reeves scam and the death of the great Ed Asner at 91. And over at our Patreon, we recap the last three episodes of “Ted Lasso,” which go into far deeper emotional territory than we ever could have imagined. So kick off your glass slippers and join us over this long holiday weekend.
Hey everyone and the theme of this week if a rabbit hole could have a theme is reboots. Nate brings up the idea of the new movie He's All That and that takes us down other reboots of Cobra Kai, High Fidelity, Wonder Years, and others. Before we get there we do have a moment of discussion over the issues going on in Texas. That leads into some Supreme Court back and forth. We do bring the fun back but we do have a moment. We do enjoy the sport riots towards the end before having some baseball stories. We hope everyone is doing well and being safe out there.

On the show today… If you're desperate to see your favourite celebrities and sports stars be tortured until they are emotionally, physically, and psychologically broken then you're in luck because the official air date for the new season of SAS Australia has just been announced and the cast list is pretty intense. And Zoe Foster Blake announced that she has sold 50.1% of her wildly successful brand Go-To Skincare to BWX for a reported $89M but there's a catch to the deal that will soothe any worried fans. Plus, He's All That, the highly anticipated reimagining of the iconic 90s movie She's All That has dropped on Netflix and there are a few important points we need to passionately debate. Like was Addison Rae really hung out to dry? Is that claim about bringing back the original scriptwriter all a lie? Did the horse make a formal complaint once filming wrapped? We need to talk about it all. In this episode, Sister Spill catches her listeners up on her first week of senior year and her feelings going into it. Per usual, she gives some advice to her listeners -- letting go of someone who hurts you even if you love them, and determining whether or not a group of friends is right for you. Later, she discusses her thoughts on Addison Rae's debut movie, He's All That. Plus, she mentions the confusion surrounding the Sway Boys, Amelie and Avani's friendship breakup, and plenty more. The title suggests something equally sweet and horrible and art can be both. There is certainly a lot of art and artists on this week's movie review episode. There are influencers and a photographer in the remake of She's All That (He's All That). The music and life of Guy Clark is featured in a new documentary (Without Getting Caught or Killed). There's the story of a domino artist named Lily Hevesh (Lily Topples the World) and a guy who is good with numbers but bad with social interaction and fumigation (Mosquito State). But there is also another relationship on pandemic lockdown (Together) and another film about the final days of Ted Bundy (No Man of God). It's enough to want to get away with John Cena and Lil Rel Howery (Vacation Friends). But wait, there's more art in the tragic story of a beloved painter (Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed) and the whole damn shady world of art is exposed in a fascinating new documentary (The Lost Leonardo). Finally, there is another artist featured in Nia DaCosta's updating of Bernard Rose & Clive Barker's Candyman. Does the film have the right palette? Tune in and hear the opinions of Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy. 0:00 - Intro Without Getting Caught or Killed 10:15 – Mosquito State 18:21 – He's All That 29:58 – Together 40:27 – The Lost Leonardo 53:19 – No Man of God 1:05:00 – Lily Topples the World 1:14:10 – Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed 1:26:16 – Vacation Friends 1:37:52 – Candyman 2:02:25 - Outro

In advance of the gender flipped Netflix remake He's All That, Brenna, Joe and special guest Lindsay revisit Pygmalion / My Fair Lady update She's All That. The film has an all-star cast, but doesn't seem to know what to do with most of them. And while Lindsay and Joe still find it funny, there's no question that the gender politics, as well as the handling of race and fatphobia have aged *badly*. The film's disinterest in exploring Cook's Laney Boggs in order to prioritize Zack's white male privilege is very late 90s.On the plus side: we have two of the most memorable dance sequences in contemporary YA, a bizarre arc for Jodi Lynn O'Keefe's character and Anna Paquin as the character we wish the film were actually about!Wanna connect with the show? On the show today… You might want to mark today's date in your calendars because Rihanna has officially been declared a billionaire. She's been dubbed the world's richest female musician and second only to Oprah Winfrey on the list of the world's richest female entertainers. But it isn't her music that secured this level of wealth. And, Netflix has released the first trailer for He's All That, the highly anticipated gender-flipped remake of the hit 90's movie She's All That, and we need to talk about it. There are false news headlines, surprise cameos, and a little debate about whether or not the gender-flipped storyline can actually work. Plus, Meghan Markle has released a surprise video in celebration of her 40th birthday, calling in the comedy big guns in the form of Melissa McCarthy. The intention behind the video is to inspire charity and change, but there are also a number of carefully hidden details sprinkled throughout it. Predictably, the video has angered a number of people, so let's talk about what's really going on here.
