Welcome back to the Tahoe TAP, everyone! Your hosts, Mike Peron and Rob Galloway, are back in action, ready to bring you another fresh episode packed with all things Tahoe—the latest news, epic adventures, and the incredible people who make this place special. In this episode, we sit down with Tony Karwowski, President and CEO of the North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA). A 20-year resident of the North Lake Tahoe region, Tony was the Director of Base Area Operations at Northstar California Resort for 14 years. He served on both the Truckee North Tahoe Transportation Management Association (TNT/TMA) board and the NLTRA's Capital Infrastructure and Transportation committees, and was involved in employee housing while at Northstar. On this episode of the California Now Podcast, host Soterios Johnson talks to three local experts about how to make the most of a winter trip to Lake Tahoe. First up, Johnson learns the ins and outs of skiing South Lake Tahoe with Robin Barnes, director of skier services at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Barnes shares what initially drew her to alpine skiing and why teaching the sport is so rewarding. “Some people maybe don't grow up playing sports and then you put them on a pair of skis and they realize they're actually quite talented,” she says. Barnes then offers a beginner's guide to skiing, sharing tips on where to rent equipment, the benefits of taking lessons, and the joys of hitting the slopes for the first time. She also name-checks some of her favorite expert runs at Heavenly. Next, Johnson explores more snow sports options with Aaron Pearlman, manager of the Northstar Cross-Country, Telemark, and Snowshoe Center in North Lake Tahoe. Pearlman gives an overview of Nordic sports and how visitors can enjoy them. “You just attach these snowshoes onto your boots, go out into the forest, and stroll around through fresh snowfall,” he says, “It's just the most amazing and quiet experience.” Lastly, Johnson talks with seasoned travel writer and 20-year Tahoe resident Ann Marie Brown. Brown discusses her favorite off-mountain activities for anyone looking to enjoy Tahoe's winter without strapping on skis. “People are so surprised that you can go out on a boat on Lake Tahoe in the wintertime and have a great time, be cozy, warm, and see amazing scenery,” Brown says. She also highlights some don't-miss restaurants, breweries, and spas in the area.
On this episode of Tahoe TAP, hosts Mike Peron and Rob Galloway deliver local news and feature an in-depth interview with Ryan E. Sommers, Fire Chief of the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District. Chief Sommers' team is renowned for their excellence in preventing, preparing for, and responding to emergencies in the communities of Incline Village and Crystal Bay, Nevada. Ryan E. Sommers was unanimously appointed to the position on September 21, 2016, becoming the seventh Chief since the district's founding in 1959. Sommers was born in Reno and raised in Incline Village, and began his career with the NLTFPD in 1991 as a seasonal volunteer firefighter. He has since worked his way up through the ranks, serving as a dispatcher in 1995, firefighter in 1997, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Assistant Fire Chief before being named Chief. Enjoy!
The beach-cleaning robot, BEBOT, conducted its first full beach clean up in North Lake Tahoe. It was joined by members of the community, in a friendly competition between human and machine.
AJ Hurt's passion for skiing and ski racing began at a very early age. Growing up in North Lake Tahoe, Palisades Tahoe was her winter playground. At four years old, she entered the Team Palisades Tahoe and fell in love with the sport. With a father who has been a member of the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol for the past 30 years, Hurt was raised a true member of the Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) family. At 14, Hurt was invited to be a part of the National Training Group. As a first-year FIS racer in the 2016-17 season, she was the top junior for birth year 2000 in NorAm qualifying race points—not only in the speed disciplines but also the technical disciplines. Hurt scored her first World Cup points in 2020 placing 18th in the Courchevel giant slalom. The 2023-24 season was a major breakout year for Hurt. Each World Cup race she improved upon the last scoring person best after person best. In Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, Hurt had a major slalom result scoring third place, her first ever World Cup podium. Then later in the season she did it again! This time in giant slalom, a third place in Soldeu, Andorra. AJ and I discuss injury, going fast, control and lack of control, the recent NCAA women's final four, and what aggression in women's sports looks like now. And she talks about the not-glamourous, living-out-of-a-bag-for-6-months World Cup tour. This episode is a perfect follow up to last week's episode with rock climber Beth Rodden because AJ too likes being in the mode of figuring things out, which she was happy to share with us. I like that mode as well! Always looking for a little bit of improvement or some greater understanding of how things work. Have you been to Tahoe? Well, let me introduce you to my friend & colleague Brandon Walsh. Brandon moved to North Lake Tahoe in 2009 to join the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol. He took his talents to real estate in 2014 and joined the family-owned Tahoe Real Estate Group, then in 2018 became part of the founding team of Compass. Brandon has sold more than $80 million of real estate to date and continues to excel in his career as a real estate broker, servicing clients locally and from across the world. DID YOU KNOW? 1. Lake Tahoe is over 2-3 million years old. Tahoe is considered an ancient lake and is counted among the 20 oldest lakes in the world. 2. Most of Nevada's side of Tahoe is a National Forest, thus housing supply on that side is limited. 3. The stored heat in the Lake's massive amount of water compared to its relative surface area prevents the Lake from reaching freezing temperature under the prevailing climatic conditions. 4. Tahoe's clarity has impressed visitors since the time of Mark Twain in the 1880s. Historical accounts indicate the water may have been as clear as 120 feet during that time. I'll rephrase… where Tahoe ranks among ski resorts in the continental United States??? Guest Question from Levi Meyer of Compass Miami: Brandon, I referred you a buyer for Lake Tahoe and you sold him a house in Nevada! I wasn't expecting that. Can you elaborate for us on the crossover from Tahoe to Nevada and how that works for you as an agent? Deep Dive Questions: I'd like to think the 20s are a struggling time for young professionals. In a special bonus episode of our recreation X wildfire series sponsored by Protect Our Winters, we spoke with professional skier Cody Townsend about what it's like to live in North Lake Tahoe as the threat of wildfire (or smoke) in that area seems to increase exponentially every fire season, as well as what kind of advocacy work he suggests for listeners who don't know where to get started in the climate or advocacy space. And we know what you might be thinking right now: A professional skier? On a wildfire podcast? You betcha, and for good reason—Cody hasn't just been an outspoken advocate for better climate policy and the politicians that support them, but has also experienced the community impacts of wildfire first hand, whether through air quality, forest and trail closures, figuring out what to put his family's go-bags or otherwise living with the near constant threat of wildfire and smoke. His experiences likely mirror those of many folks in California and beyond, and are particularly pertinent now as the Mosquito Fire continues to burn intensely—blanketing much of the Tahoe and Reno areas in dense smoke. You can learn more our sponsor, Protect our Winters, and their Stoke the Vote campaign—which encourages the outdoor community to do their research, register to vote and make their voices heard ahead of this fall's midterms. Mark Tsigounis and I talk about where he got the idea for an Adventure Flask, it's functionality, and how the Hibear Adventure Flask came to life. The Swiss Army Knife of Insulated Bottles: Unmatched versatility to pack less & do more. Back their Kickstarter Project HERE It's been a couple of years since we caught up at Outdoor Retailer right? Yeah, it was Summer OR 2019. That was my first outdoor retailer show, and completely eyeopening. If anybody's in the industry and you haven't gone yet, you need to go it's amazing. It's pretty phenomenal. And you were just kind of walking around, you had a sample, just getting feedback and stuff. How did that go? Obviously you got a lot of positive feedback, so here you are. Yeah, I mean, I felt like I was almost like pirating the show. I didn't have a booth. I kinda like went rogue. I plopped down next to the cafe downstairs and was just trying to show what we had created to as many people as possible. How did you get introduced to the outdoors? You did a lot of stuff in the Navy I'm sure. But what was your first outdoor experience like? Well, I grew up in New Jersey and I don't think most people think of New Jersey as being an outdoor hub. Most people think of, you know, exit 10 Elizabeth and all the refineries out there, or the second city to New York. But North Jersey is actually a pretty beautiful place and we have 80 miles of the Appalachian Trail that run through there. So my dad used to bring me out there and when you're a young kid, it's hard to wrap your head around the fact that this trail actually goes from Georgia to Maine. And I said . . . wait, so you're telling me if I keep going North, I'm going to go all the way up almost to Canada? So I think that always resonated with me. What made you want to hike the trail? I think that too much time in a desk job when you're a free-spirited individual, you have these ideas that were planted in your mind start to grow roots. And I think that's just, just something I couldn't get out of my head. I think it was in 2014 that my desk job just started wearing on me and it was just time for a change. And that was kind of like a rebirth. So I wanted to leave my desk job. I had worked in finance for 12 years at that point That'll do it. You have an impressive adventure background. Was that the inspiration was to hang up the desk job and go play, or did you grow up doing some of those things with the family? Yeah, I grew up, spending a lot of time on the Jersey shore. My dad brought me camping a few times, but I never really loved it. I loved video games. I used to always play manhunt in the neighborhood and I'd ride my bike everywhere for sure. Where did the idea for an adventure flask come from? When you're a through hiker on the Appalachian trail, you're used to carrying everything on your back. And you learn that the stuff that does more are the things that you value a lot more than the other things, like multipurpose stuff. I spent some time in Africa where I got an insulated bottle. So when it's 115 degrees outside, it's pretty amazing that you can have ice cold water all day. And I had no idea that this thing existed. And back then I had an Amazon business for a little bit and the writing was on the wall that I needed to start my own brand. I lived by coffee, right? I was just always working and led by coffee. Originally it was a French press and then we were thought, well, this is kind of boring. An insulated French press idea led to let's do something a lot cooler. So we came up with this idea. This concept of one flask with seven interchangeable tops. We did a bunch of 3D printing and we'd get all these parts. We had about 140 parts delivered to us. And we thought this is totally not going work, for a lot of different reasons. I mean, can you imagine just having this mechanism in your backpack and how much space that would actually take up? It's just not rational. So we took the summer and really thought about what it is, what we were trying to do with the seven interchangeable tops. We took the best of the best of all of that and integrated them into one, just beautifully designed flask. And I think there was this aha moment as I'm walking down the beach with my father. My father says, you know, I think it would be really cool if you took that top and you just turned it upside down and then you could do like coffee with it. And I was like, dad, that's absolutely brilliant. So that was the focal point in which we designed everything else around once we figured it out that one design feature transformed into the Swiss Army Knife of flasks. I mean, it's a cocktail shaker, it's a coffee maker. It keeps your water cold. It's really cool. Take us through how the product actually came to life. All of that, you had to do a number of iterations, I guess, right? 3D printing and whatnot. What was that process like? After we more or less figured out what the design was going to look like and we had our rendering, and I think a lot of creators, might stop and think, okay, we need to go out and fund this on Kickstarter. And I think that was the case was in the early days, right. You're right. A lot of folks spend a lot of money on the first round of samples that end up being the 10th round of samples. When they could have saved a ton if they had done more design and more 3D printing work like you did. That's smart. Yeah, exactly. So a lot of those iterations have taken us a long time to try and figure out. You're obsessing over every quarter of a millimeter on this and stuff that the end-user will never ever know. But at the end of the day, you just want that to just be part of their experience and the fact that you have noticed it makes that design better. How did you get that done? It's just a combination of different companies. Shapeways is a decent company where you can just upload your solid work files and they'll send you the parts. But 3D printing is a little bit different, more difficult in terms of getting everything to work together. Working with a manufacturer that has prototyping abilities before you move into sampling is really nice. Yeah. You got to get all that right before you get to that step, otherwise you just spending money. How did you find your factories? Did you go on Alibaba or what was that process like? It was like a combination of everything. It was like the mish-mash of sourcing agents. Going into town and talking to manufacturers that that would help find another type of sourcing agent. I went on Alibaba. We had come up with this portfolio of different manufacturers and ended up going with the one that I actually found on Alibaba for a number of different reasons. And number one is, is that they had the most amount of experience. They had the largest factory and the pricing was about the middle of the road. Now, if I had to do it over, I would definitely use our quality assurance company to help do the sourcing as well. Simply because they have a lot more boots on the ground. They're a lot more familiar with the different areas where manufacturing gets done. And they probably have a really tight process of QC and production once it's done. So you mentioned going into town, did you go into Reno? Where did you go look, are there people in Reno that do this? Yeah, there's a company in Reno. I really love how the whole thing functions and works together. Did you come up with the ideas yourself? Obviously, your dad came up with the idea of flipping it over and doing coffee, but was there a bunch of family and friends or, where did the ideas come from? Yeah, it definitely culminated out of the French press. In terms of coming together with all the people, I don't have a solid-works background. I'm not in the industry, I'm not an industrial engineer. My background's in finance. So we have an industrial design firm called Tech Collective out of Slovenia and they just do amazing, beautiful work. To the point where we collaborated for about a year and a half on this new design just trying to work through all that functionality. At the end of the day, all of our efforts have been validated this year when we were awarded a red dot award in product design. Congratulations. That's exciting. How about mentors? Who has been some of your mentors in the development of High bear? So we're attached to an incubator that's a startup in Reno. It's a portfolio of coaches and mentors that are experts in their own silo that I can just lean on for expertise trying to expedite the process of getting high bear from ideation to market. You must be outside all the time. Tell us about a couple of your favorite activities outdoors. Yeah, Part of the reason that I live in North Lake Tahoe is the trail running around here is absolutely amazing. There is a race once a year called the Castle Peak 100K and it's like the greatest hits album of trail running in Truckee. It goes through Prosser, it goes through obviously castle peak, and then there's a section called the Palisades where there's rope set up. So it's a course and you're almost mountain climbing over that shale rock or the decomposing granite. If anybody is into running it's probably one of the best-kept secrets in running around. We'll link to that in the show notes for all your runners out there, go do it. Do you have any suggestions or advice for folks either wanting to get into the outdoor adventure biz or start a company as you did? I would say that if young folks are trying to get into the industry, they should, number one, read your book because it's the best way to get a sampling of so many different experts from all different walks of life on the outdoor industry. From my perspective, I came in as an enthusiast with a business background. But if I was a younger person trying to get in, I would certainly say just be a guide. Start out as a whitewater rafting or climbing guide or whatever it is that is your passion and get into it that way, you know, have some fun with it. That's good. And just so everybody knows that book is Trails To The Top and it's available on Amazon. I appreciate that. Thank you. That's why I asked that question because I think learning from those that have come before you is so important. Anything you can do to learn from all those folks that have already been there or are going through, it's a great way to go. What is your favorite outdoor gear purchase under a hundred dollars? I would recommend everybody have an all-day adventure flask as part of their everyday carry. If you could have a huge banner at the entrance to the OR show, what would it say? I would really like to say hug someone today on the outside, but it's definitely not appropriate for the times right now. So I would say just be generous today, do something for someone, and expect nothing. Because something like that has as a multiplier effect and it's infectious. As we wrap up, is there anything else you want to say or ask of our listeners? Yeah just stay curious, fight the good fight and keep creating. It's a very divisive world right now and, we all just need to be part of the solution. The second thing is to invite somebody for tea. In the last few months we've been conditioned to isolate ourselves and we need to an excuse to break out. Where can people find you if they want to follow up? email: mark@highbearoutdoors.com Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter find the All Day Adventure Flask on hibearoutdoors.com We're coming to Kickstarter in early September and we're really, really excited about that. Our page is beautiful.

Lisa's Adventure Club: Lake Tahoe (0:00:00) Welcome Back to Lisa's Adventure Club! I'm sure you have many destinations on your wish-list like Rome, the Swiss Alps, or Hawaii. But, not all of our adventures need to be on the other side of the word. I've got a place that's a short drive or plane ride away that you should consider adding to your destination list: Lake Tahoe! This large, freshwater lake is right on the state line between Nevada and California, but even if you aren't from that region of the world, this beautiful natural wonder is worth the adventure. Joining us to help us plan a trip to this beautiful lake is Director of Communications for North Lake Tahoe, Liz Bowling. THON (0:19:41) Do you ever feel that you want to make a difference but that your impact wouldn't be big enough if you tried? That thought never stopped the students of Penn State University in 1973 when they held a dance marathon to raise money for a cause. Now 41 years later, this dance marathon known as THON has become the world's largest student-run charity having raised more than $146 million to raise awareness for childhood cancer! Today we're talking with Regina Duesler about this inspiring event and how we all can make an impact in our own communities. Regina Duesler is the Executive Director of THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy. It's Just Dinner (0:34:05) Last year Visa reported that the average family spent over $1,000on prom. With people spending more and more money on extravagant dates, it's no surprise that the younger generations' perception of dating has changed along with its dating culture. With big dates considered the norm and simple dates, like getting ice cream, happening less and less, our kids are struggling to find the fun in dating, let alone date at all. After hearing about the terrible dating culture among college students at Brigham Young University, Dr. Tom Robinson, a professor at BYU, began researching why people have skewed perspectives on dating. He joins us to discuss how to change our conversations with our kids to make dating fun again. Foster Parenting Teens (0:50:36) When it comes to foster care, older kids are often overlooked. In fact, more than 23,000 kids age out of the foster system each year, and many become homeless, drug dependent, and never go to college. Couples looking to become foster parents tend to take home babies, toddlers or younger kids... because let's face it, parenting teenagers is rough. But teenagers need parents more than anyone to teach them how to become adults. Here to tell us more about foster parenting teenagers and how we can help is foster care consultant and parent Jennie Sheperd. Closet Cleanse (1:06:57) With spring coming, so many of us are going through our closets and trying to figure out what to keep and what to get rid of. Thinking about what we really wear and what we don't is a frustrating process. So how can we make sure we don't get rid of anything we'll regret giving away? Lauren Messiah is a personal stylist who helps women discover their unique sense of style. She has some great ideas on what we need to do to perform the best closet cleanse possible. Hair Loss (1:27:00) A quick look at social media will tell you that thick, luscious locks is what everyone is looking for. Unfortunately, a full head of hair isn't reality for a lot of people. Hair thinning is very common, especially as we get older, and while it can be discouraging, there are ways that you can overcome it and feel confident in yourself. So, we invited hair stylist, color expert, and instructor for L'oreal Professionnel, Michelle Lindsey, to come talk to us about the different types of hair loss and how to treat them. Michelle is also a friend of the show.
In S3:E2 we go deep into the mind, heart and soul of veteran heli ski guide Lel Tone. Known as the consummate local hero in North Lake Tahoe, California, Tone has been a ski patroller at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows for over 24 years. During this time she has become a leading authority as an instructor for the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education and co-founded the popular women's S.A.F.E. A.S. avalanche safety clinics. Tone is an Alaska fishing guide, has beaten a Navy Seal on a reality television show, worked a pit crew for off-road motorcycle races and guided the biggest names in the ski and snowboard business with Warren Miller Films. One would think someone with this type of pedigree would be burly and perhaps unapproachable. On the contrary, Tone carries herself with an open heart and a wonderful degree of kindness and compassion rarely seen in this day and age. We talk at length about her role in a male dominated profession, how she deals with failure, her spirituality, what it means to be vulnerable and how a devastating divorce allowed her to rise from the ashes of life. We hope you enjoy an insightful conversation with one of the most badass and caring people to ever grace the ski industry.
Early retirement is one of those things that many people dream about and some do. My guest today is Tanja Hester. Tanja and her husband Mark Bunge were able to retire from formal employment when she was 38, and he was 41. Tanja is now able to devote her life to fun and purpose. She is the author of Work Optional: Retire Early the Non-Penny-Pinching Way. Tanja and Mark have an award-winning financial independence blog called Our Next Life. Tanja also podcasts on The Fairer Cents Podcast with her friend Kara Perez where they explore marginalized and tricky financial topics. Her new found freedom also allows her to focus on interests like gathering women together to talk about financial independence at Cents Positive retreats and volunteering in her community. She’s also able to indulge her love of traveling the world, and enjoy sports like skiing, hiking, biking, paddling, and climbing around her home in North Lake Tahoe, California. She is basically living the dream. On today’s show, we talk about how she and her husband tracked their progress and timed their leaving work and how they downsized their lifestyle to retire early. Tanja has researched and explored every aspect of early retirement from the best strategies for saving to redefining your identity without a career. She applies those lessons every day in her work-optional life. She has a regular column on MarketWatch. She’s spoken at Google, Tesla and at conferences around the U.S. She has been featured in the New York Times, TIME, MONEY Magazine, Vice Media, Yahoo! Finance, Forbes, LifeHacker, Bloomberg, Buzzfeed, and media outlets around the world. If you want to learn how Tanja was able to retire early and make it work, this episode is for you. Highlights from Episode 18 [02:11] Tanja retired early at 38. [02:20] Tanja's definition of retired probably most closely matches the military definition of retired. [02:40] She feels that things like being able to podcast and write are a privilege, because they don't feel like work. [03:01] When approached with projects, she's more concerned with the fun aspect as opposed to how much it may pay. [05:01] Every six month period of Tanja's retirement has been different. [05:31] Tanja was 38, and her husband was 41 when they both retired. Looking back, they would probably have gone a little slower and not been so aggressive with their savings goals and said yes to more things. [06:18] If they could do it over again, they would have taken more vacation and rested more. [06:58] They both started out at entry level pay, but they were making six figures before retirement. At the end, they were saving quickly. [08:01] A micro retirement is more of a career intermission where you take a year or two off. You could also use it as a bridge to a new career. [09:40] Tanja saw her dad retire with a genetic disability when he was 42. She didn’t want to be powerless and forced into retirement. She wanted to travel, hike and have fun. [12:01] She developed her love of travel as a kid. [14:44] Tanja and her husband were die hard index fund investors. They have tax advantaged funds that they can't access until later and then regular investment accounts that they can access. [18:04] Solid investors have to think about downturns. Good investors need to be mentally tough or not look at things and get emotions involved. [20:04] The worst thing would be to retire and not have a cushion. [22:35] They have insurance on the exchange and pay $1000.00 a month. [24:58] If you want to look into retiring early, track three months of spending and see where your money is going. Then get very clear about what you want to spend. Set up automated saving and investing. [29:43] When you are watching your savings grow, it's a lot easier to avoid that impulse buy. [30:43] If you know you're going to retire, think about what you want to do in advance and where you get your identity and community. [33:28] She’s found ways to do public speaking without having to have a job. [33:51] Tanja has learned that podcasting takes more time than anyone thinks. She also found that writing her book was more enjoyable than she thought it would be. [35:35] She's a Top Gun fan! Which should come first—lifestyle or career? On today's episode, Matt Hanson shares the story of how he designed his life and business exactly the way he wanted. He also offers powerful insights into marriage, sales, relationships, and the joy of being a small e-entrepreneur. Making Your Life Work Matt made the decision as a young man to live the way he wanted. It was never easy, but his wife of 28 years has stayed by his side through every decision he made. This included committing to a life away from the city. He didn't want to live the way people did in the Bay Area. He also knew he wasn't fit to be part of the rat race, so he headed to another direction. And now, he's reaping the fruits of staying true to himself. “The lifestyle certainly came first and figuring out a way to support the lifestyle kinda came second.” - Matt Hanson Lifestyle First, Career Second He then looked for ways to live by his lifestyle choice. Over time, he stumbled upon real estate, which has allowed him to continue his lifestyle while making a very good living. Matt says that this is the right way to approach life. Matt likes walking into houses being built whenever he sees them. He also enjoyed the idea of houses and understanding whether they were designed right. And the more he saw, the more he learned just how unique each and every house is, in terms of layouts and proportions as well as marketability. “Far and away, the majority of houses I walk into, I would never buy in a million years.” - Matt Hanson Being Personal Mike says that real estate, much like everything in life, is tougher than it looks. It is an emotional career choice. And Matt has figured out that sticking to formula wasn't how he could stand out. “I take the satisfaction, the closing, the fact that people are happy... I take it very personally.” - Matt Hanson To hear more about why Matt's mustache is a force to be reckoned with and how he found his voice in real estate, download and listen to the episode. Bio: Matt Hanson is a ski enthusiast, mountain lover, and realtor. His love for building houses came to be when he made the decision to move to Lake Tahoe. He was voted Realtor of the Year by his peers in North Lake Tahoe. #111: Tanja Hester and Mark Bunge used to have demanding but fulfilling careers as political and social cause consultants. While they loved the mission behind their work, they grew tired of the exhausting hours and grueling travel. Their home felt like a weekend crash pad. They had no time or energy to pursue outside passions like skiing, biking and volunteering. Six years ago, they read a book that changed the course of their lives. The book, How to Retire Early, set the couple on the path of financial independence. They moved from pricey Los Angeles to the more affordable North Lake Tahoe. They started automatically saving and investing huge chunks of their paycheck. They crafted detailed spreadsheets, plotting precisely how much they'd need to save before they could comfortably quit their jobs. Today, Tanja and Mark are newly-retired ... at the ages of 38 and 41. How did they progress towards early retirement so quickly? And what lessons would they share with anyone else who wants to escape the 9-to-5 grind? Find out in today's episode.
