On the 81th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom & Zeus welcome back special guest The King of TNA Wrestling and musician, Frankie Kazarian to review the 1980 transitional album from Black Sabbath, "Heaven And Hell!" By 1980, Ozzy Osbourne was out of Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio was in as the new singer. Heaven and Hell was their 9th album and a whole new era of Black Sabbath had begun for this legendary metal band. Dio brought his undeniable voice and lyrics to the band. The "Riffmaster" Tony Iommi was still killing it on guitar, while the legendary rhythm section of Bill Ward on drums and Geezer Butler on bass was still in tact. The album was produced by SIOL favorite Martin Birch. Dio breathed new life into Black Sabbath and gave it a new sound. The album made it to #28 on the US Billboard charts and eventually went platinum. This was the Patreon's pick. A great discussion with an awesome guest about a landmark album. On October 6, 1894, 18-year-old Frank Westwood answered the door of his family's Toronto mansion, Lakeside Hall in Parkdale. Someone standing outside shot him through the gap left by the door chain. In part one of this two-part Victorian true crime story on Canada Is Boring, Rhys Waters takes Jesse Harley through the Parkdale Mystery, the Toronto murder that caused a newspaper frenzy in 1890s Canada. Before Frank died of his stomach wound, he described the gunman as a man in dark clothes with a thin mustache. The only name he gave police was Gus Clark, a "stone hooker" his family had chased off their shoreline for digging out shale. We cover the crowded funeral and the chaotic inquest. We meet amateur sleuth W. H. Hornberry, whom the papers mocked as "Parkdale's Sherlock Holmes." We also look at how newspapers begged Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, to solve the case. Then there's the Listowel Horror, the murder of 13-year-old Jessie Keith, which set off rumours that Jack the Ripper had moved to Canada. Part one ends on a cliffhanger: police arrest a surprising new suspect, a 32-year-old woman. After the story, the Small Talk Dimension Zone covers Jesse's Tuscany wine festival trip, inspired by The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. Jesse also shares a trick for quitting smoking with ice-cold ginger ale. Her stomach held ground glass, and so did her father's, both of them served from the bowl of rice her stepmother Pearl O'Loughlin had set on the table between them. Pearl had already tried the same method on her father-in-law's sugar bowl and on her sister's cat and dog, and the story comes from Troy Taylor's "Suffer the Children – American Horrors, Homicides and Hauntings."From there the show turns to Dr. Francis J. Tumblety, an uneducated patent-medicine peddler who kept a collection of women's uteruses in jars and was renting rooms on Batty Street in Whitechapel when the 1888 Ripper murders began. Inspector John Littlechild of Scotland Yard named him as a suspect in 1913, and the whole theory rests on one disputed date – whether Tumblety made bail on November 8th or November 16th, with Mary Kelly butchered in her bed on the 9th. He died at St. John's Hospital in St. Louis in May 1903, an estate of more than $135,000 behind him.Next is Bradshaw Ranch, 140 acres outside Sedona in the Verde Valley, where Linda Bradshaw reported orbs, shadow people, four short gray aliens in tan one-piece uniforms, a Bigfoot she nicknamed Big Girl, and a five-foot bipedal lizard standing on a dirt path one evening. She wrote it up with ufologist Tom Dongo in "Merging Dimensions: The Opening Portals of Sedona," and instrument readings on the property measured a magnetic field hundreds of times stronger than the surrounding desert. The U.S. government bought the ranch in May 2003 and closed it to the public without explanation.Then a Weirdo family member named Ashley Delia describes the morning her family drove out to tell her second-grade cousin that their grandfather had died in a hotel room in Effingham, Illinois. The girl wasn't surprised – a little old lady in the basement of their newly built house had already told her it was his time, and told her not to be sad. Four months later the lady came back to say the girl's other grandfather was going next, and the phone rang twenty minutes after that.After that comes Bob Lazar, who sat for a KLAS-TV interview in May 1989 under the name Dennis and said the military was reverse-engineering alien craft at a facility near Groom Lake. He described a ship that turns its belly toward its destination before it moves, which is close to what Navy aviators recorded in the Gimbal and Tic Tac encounters the Pentagon released decades later.The episode closes on Easter week of 1895 at Emanuel Baptist Church in San Francisco, where someone opened a closet in the church library and found Minnie Williams strangled and stabbed, her hands nearly severed. A search of the building turned up Blanche Lamont in the belfry, stripped and posed with her hands folded. Sunday school superintendent William Henry Theodore Durrant had courted both women, and the jury convicted him in five minutes, then sat and finished their cigars before walking back in so the verdict wouldn't look rushed.

In December 2002, the discovery of dismembered human remains inside garbage bags in Camden, London, launched an investigation that would uncover something far more disturbing. The remains belonged to two women, but evidence soon led detectives to a nearby apartment where another woman had been found dead less than a year earlier. Weirdos! We're revisiting Whitechapel in this MASSIVE episode which includes all 5 episodes of Alaina's Roman Empire, Jack the Ripper! Alaina takes us to the streets of Whitechapel for part one of Jack The Ripper, and boy is it a stark picture she's painting us. Whitechapel was dark, damp, dirty and downright desolate at the time Jack The Ripper was roaming the streets. People were living in all kinds of horrible conditions, butchers and slaughterhouse workers were walking around covered in blood and because things were like this, it made the perfect stomping ground for a vicious murderer. Mary Ann "Polly" Nichols was the Ripper's first victim and the main person that we'll go over in part one while Alaina also gives us a background on a couple of other potential early victims. Stay tuned for (we're thinkin') three more! Jack the Ripper part two brings us the absolutely horrifying murder of Annie Chapman. Annie's story, much like the rest of the women who were killed, is incredibly devastating. She was struggling with sobriety when she landed on the shady streets in Spitalfields in the East end and was having a terrible time trying to find work to just get by. Robert Anderson, the head of the criminal investigations department was still on vacation, Sir Charles Warren's ego stepped on the scene and they were not even one step closer to uncovering the culprits identity. Jack the Ripper Part three will cover what is known as, “the double event.” Both Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes were found killed on this September night. Both women shared a lot in common with the previous two victims. They'd struggled through pretty much their entire lives just to make ends meet and then were met with this as their end. In this part we'll start to entertain the theory that Jack perhaps had some kind of medical background and you'll see just why one might think so once you dive into the episode! Hold onto your butts! Jack the Ripper part 4 is here weirdos! This installment will cover the horrific, and most brutal murder yet: the murder of Mary Jane Kelly. Mary Jane was the youngest victim at just twenty five years old and the only victim that was killed in her own room. When the police arrived on scene they were shocked, but still not any closer to uncovering the identity of the ripper. OH and also, Alaina has some HOT TAKES on the letters we went over in part 3. Katie joined our friend Nick and Jess Lee on their podcast "Murder Through The Grapevine" to chat about The Mohawk Valley Ripper.With their permission we're posting the episode as well. The Mohawk Valley Ripper, who's real name way John William Hopkins, a resident of Johnstown NY. His reign of terror lasted from 1972-1978. Hopkins was finally apprehended in 1979 after one of his teenage victims escaped from his kidnapping attempt and ultimately helped to identify him.Hopkins was convicted on 2 murder counts and was also investigated for several other sex crimes in Fulton County. He was sentenced to 25 years-to-life terms but ended his own life in 2000 while he was locked up in Green Meadow Correctional Facilities. German immigrant Frederick Hollman, one of America's earliest serial killers, was hanged at the Ford County Jail in Paxton, Illinois, on May 14, 1897, after promising to return and rap on the windows of the witnesses and jurors who convicted him — and the jail is now a paranormal hotspot where his face has been photographed glaring into his old cell. Lavinia Fisher and her husband John ran the Six Mile House near Charleston, South Carolina, in the early 1820s, allegedly poisoning and dropping wealthy travelers through a trapdoor before their hanging for highway robbery, and her aggressive spirit is still blamed for choking sensations and foul stenches at the Old Charleston Jail. Raymond Snowden, dubbed Idaho's Jack the Ripper for the 1956 stabbing of Cora Dean, endured a botched twenty-minute hanging at the Old Idaho Penitentiary in Boise in 1957 and reportedly haunts the gallows site alongside inmate Douglas Van Vlack, who leaped to his death from the cell block rafters. Ted Bundy, executed in Florida's electric chair on January 24, 1989, has supposedly been seen grinning atop the chair and telling guards he beat them all, while Willie Lloyd Turner — executed by lethal injection in 1995 after fifteen years and five aborted trips to the chamber — appeared so lifelike after death that inmates mistook him for the living. The segment closes across the Atlantic with executioner John Ellis, who hanged more than a hundred people at Manchester's Strangeways Jail before killing himself in 1932 and is said to still patrol B Wing to keep the prison's other ghosts, including poisoner Mrs. Merrifield, in line.From there the episode moves to Alcatraz, the federal penitentiary that operated on its fog-bound San Francisco Bay island from 1934 to 1963 and earned a reputation as one of America's most haunted sites. The solitary cells of D-Block known as "the hole" are tied to the 1940s strangulation death of a screaming inmate in cell 14D, possibly the work of former occupant Rufus McCain, and visitors report icy fingers and unnatural cold there. The 1946 Battle of Alcatraz left two guards and three escapees dead in a utility corridor where clanging noises still echo, psychic Sylvia Browne sensed murdered hitman Abie "Butcher" Maldowitz in the laundry room, and the catacomb "dungeon" beneath A-Block preserves the screams of prisoners once chained naked to its walls. Al Capone spent part of his 1934 sentence strumming a banjo to hold off insanity, and that banjo music is still reportedly heard in the halls, while "Birdman" Robert Stroud haunts the hospital wing where he was confined among his canary research. The island carried dark associations long before the prison, from Ohlone tribal beliefs that it gathered evil spirits to the Civil War soldiers who died chained in its guardhouse basement, and even the 1969 to 1971 Native American occupation ended in fire and loss before the ghosts reportedly stayed behind.Next the episode turns to a fringe theory that reframes flying saucers as human technology rather than alien craft, arguing that a secretive commercial group used patent-law secrecy to build working time machines in twentieth-century laboratories. The account claims these machines can move an ion through time in both directions, that short-range "trans-burst" devices let a person leap across nearby distances, and that the UFOs people photograph are previews of future mankind rather than extraterrestrial visitors. It ties the idea to Einstein's 1901 work as a patent clerk and to E=mc², and recasts Area 51 as cover not for alien bodies but for a commercial experiment involving four trained monkeys linked to a 1961 interstellar flight.The episode closes with a listener account from Amber Harris, who lived at the end of a cul-de-sac in Williamsburg, Virginia, in a house set down in a ditch so the second floor sat level with the street. After her next-door neighbor died suddenly in his home and his widow moved away, the house sat unsold for months, and one night past midnight the hallway light outside Amber's bedroom switched on without the telltale sound of anyone climbing the loud staircase, casting the shadow of a male figure beneath her door before it went dark. Weeks later her sister woke her by text to watch the dead neighbor's dog standing beneath the orange street light, barking at the empty house before turning its head directly toward the two of them at the window and then vanishing, an image that stayed with the family until a job moved them to Indiana, with the neighbor's house still unsold when they drove past it the following May.
