Her humble beginnings in a small farm town (there was only one traffic light!) sparked her creativity at a young age and her adopted home of New York City keeps her inspired daily. Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia features a magical array of warm, cuddly and comforting creatures along with storybooks that help parents and kids improve their communication and deepen their relationships. Whether she is strutting down Fifth Avenue in Manolos or curled up on her sofa in slipper socks, Kristina is ready to create a masterpiece. Her crochet hooks and knitting needles are always within reach to whip up anything from stuffies to baby sweaters, while her kitchen table is often covered with her watercolor paints and brushes or freshly baked cookies. After an injury forced her to reconsider her 100-mile-an-hour corporate career, Kristina realized her true path: to be the artist she was meant to be. The door of Curiously Curated Creations of Kristina Lucia opened upon her receiving a sign from her Mom. The journey began in November 2019. Kristina is also a competitive dancer, an avid reader, and travel buff. We love stuffies! My kids and I love them! I have to admit I like those cuddly, cute, furry animals more than my kids. What is not to love about cute adorable huggable animals? Soft, squishy, and cuddly, they can easily brighten your mood, keep you entertained, or just be a friend. However stuffies seem to have a way of multiplying like rabbits on a spring day. I find them everywhere and they take over the house, the kids rooms, and especially the kids bed. In this episode we talk about three helpful tips and tricks to avoiding being overwhelmed by the avalanche of animals. How to get rid of animals, even if your kids refuse. Listen in! I pray this blesses you! Michelle PS. In this kid's story, Beau and Amelia discover that their dinosaur stuffies come alive. Together, they make some chocolate popcorn.
This episode is a short story of why it's worth it to have children that was spurred by her son making a pretty accurate statement about being a parent.
The Stuffies compete in a music contest.
Lisa Sprague clams up when you start sniffing around for her chowder recipe. Same goes for her Stuffies. What's a Stuffie? Some would say a tiny clam meatloaf served in an ashtray. There are a few variations on how to serve a Stuffie. And the exact ingredients added to the butter, breadcrumbs and clams remain unknown. Lisa is like a Knights Templar. Guardian of a vast and important secret handed down through generations and protected under a veil of mystery.Clams run in the family. Lisa's Dad, the legendary Bo Gemp was a "tonger" (a professional clam harvester). We learn about Lisa's clan and their long standing ties to Block Island.Lisa started living here full time in 1976 after she graduated from college. At the time she was working as a lifeguard at what was then State Beach. During this segment, Lisa recounts a tender moment interrupted by Champ Starr who was on the hunt for a late night snack. She also had a close encounter with a hammerhead shortly before meeting Peter Benchley (the author of JAWS).At the end of the season, she answered a classified ad in the local newspaper seeking a Physical Education Teacher for the Island School. Lisa got the job and became the first Gym Teacher here on the island. She designed the course and had to get creative sometimes. No- she didn't take the kids clamming.Lisa's service to the community has been a constant. She joined the rescue squad in 76' as well and has been involved ever since. She's been a dispatcher at the police station too. Both jobs were serious ones, but we get a couple of funny stories from Lisa. Once, an escape prisoner hijacked a police cruiser and found himself in a real...picklement.All this and skillet tossing stories too! Just remember- Manhattan clam chowder is NOT a thing. Don't ever bring it up in front of Lisa.Put down the clam rake and hit "PLAY", Cap'!

Concrete, simple, can adjust to a busy season and I had ideas at the ready. That seems the key to success. Tracking something I'm doing every. Here are some examples: Stretching, foam rolling, going for a walk, going to bed early, reading before bed to quiet my mind, tea, no stress knitting. I took a bath with epsom salt and candles. Ask me Anything In this episode I answered questions from Ravelry user knittergirlkatie about using citric acid to set color into sock yarn. I use the Knitmore Girls Tutorial I think it's helpful especially when using multiple colors/skeins in your project and especially for handdyed yarns. I haven't had as much bleeding/absorption with commercial dyed yarns but be careful with reds, blues, purples and neons. On a Happy Note We had a 4 kid holiday sleepover with Eme (13)/ Oisin (9), Will (10), and Aila (8). We celebrated Dan's birthday, decorated the tree and enjoyed pancakes! Emelyn's school concert. I had an extra sock my bag so gave it to Megg (Eme's mom) so she and knit together. It was lovely! A non-stressful holiday season. There are a couple more things I'd like to do and things I'd like to get, but shopping is mostly done. Waiting on a few things to come in by mail so I can wrap- which I'll enjoy doing. Turns out I'm a Grinchalong fail. Still making gifts because I can...and my heart keeps growing 3 sizes.
