How does someone go from the corporate world to fully embracing life as an artist? I can only speak for myself and this is my backstory. In this initial kick-off to my miniseries "From Hustle to Flow: My Artist's Way Experiment," I peel back the curtain on how I got into staffing & HR work in the first place, what made me good at it, and why I ultimately walked away from the corporate burnout. But this isn't just about me. This is also about you.Because here's the deal: if you're still clinging to the idea that creativity is optional—that it's only for “artists” with paint under their nails—you're setting yourself up to fail in the modern economy. The people who thrive now are the ones who can pivot, innovate, and create. Doesn't matter if you're an accountant, a doctor, a carpenter, a barista, etc. Whether you're in business, tech, HR, or something that doesn't even have a label yet, creativity isn't a luxury. It's survival. In this miniseries, I'll share my journey through Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way and show how unlocking creativity isn't just about making art—it's about reclaiming your life.Links:https://www.amazon.com/Artists-Way-25th-Anniversary/dp/0143129252 ****Decoding the Unicorn is live on Amazon! Welcome to the #SPAITGIRL Talk Show with Yvette Le Blowitz EP.157 - Seeking Wisdom with Julia Cameron, International Bestselling Author of The Artist's Way Seeking Wisdom: A Spiritual Path to Creative Connection Julia Cameron has been Hailed by the New York Times as "The Queen of Change". Julia Cameron is credited with starting a movement in 1992 that has brought creativity into the mainstream conversation, in the arts, in business and everyday life. She is the best-selling author of more than forty books, fiction and nonfiction, a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright. Commonly referred to as "The Godmother" or "High Priestess" of creativity, her tools are based in practice, not theory, and she considers herself "the floor sample of her own toolkit". The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity was published thirty years ago, and it has been translated into forty languages and sold over five million copies to date. In Seeking Wisdom, Julia Cameron invites you to nurture your creativity by connecting with your higher power. Julia Cameron returns to the spiritual roots of the Artists Way in this 6-week Program. Tracing her own creative journey, Cameron reveals that prayer led her forward at a time of personal crisis. Unexpectedly, prayer became an indispensable support to her artistic life. The tools she created to save herself in her darkest hour became the tools she would share with the world through The Artist's Way. Seeking Wisdom details the origin of these tools, and by Cameron's example, the central role that prayer plays in sustaining a life as an artist. In this volume, Cameron shares a mindful collection of prayer practices that open our creative souls. This path takes us beyond traditional religious rituals, welcoming readers regardless of their beliefs and backgrounds. As you journey through each week of the program, you'll explore prayers of petition, gratitude, creativity, and more. Along the way, the three beloved tools of The Artist's Way, Morning Pages, Artist Dates, and Walks are refreshed and re-introduced, to provide a proven, grounded framework for growth and development. Additionally, Cameron introduces a fourth tool, Writing Out Guidance. She believes this powerful practice will greatly aid aspiring artists. Seeking Wisdom issues an invitation to step further into exciting creative practice. Imagine you're on a path to compete in the Olympics and a spirit crushing, career ending injury occurs, destroying your biggest dream? Today's guest experienced just that. Cristi Christensen, author of the newly released "Chakra Rituals: Awakening The Wild Woman Within" is a Global Embodiment Coach, whose mission is to empower women and expand their definitions of yoga and well-being. After her injury, determined to heal her body and reignite her spirit she embarked on a path of spiritual discovery and was brought to her first yoga class. There, Cristi shifted her focus towards healing herself, while helping others heal and awaken through embodiment movement (yoga, Pilates, personal training, dance, and meditation). She's the creator of Soul Fire, a unique style of yoga that incorporates dance, meditation and mudra practices to awaken and empower you. Additionally, she's the co-founder of the Asia based Kirana Yoga School and US based Deep Exhale, a transformational experience merging the worlds of breath, music & movement. Cristi's new book is a self-help guide that makes the ancient science of Chakras accessible through a seven-week step-by-step program. In this episode we discuss daily rituals for empowerment, honoring our body, reclaiming our voice, and so much more. Hello my friends, I wanted to share one of my daily practices with you today, something very simple, that you can literally start doing at any moment, any time, anywhere and it can start to make you feel better, shift your mood, the atmosphere around you and change your entire outlook on life...and that very simple thing is asking yourself powerful questions. Dr. Edith Eger, holocaust survivor, psychologist and therapist writes that her experience in Auschwitz was hell on earth but that the worst prisons by far are the ones we build in our minds. She says the foundation of freedom is the power to choose and asking ourselves questions is one way we can start to open the door to freedom and choice.

Bring an alternate thought and action to each conflicting thought. 4. Write a note to yourself from your future self. 5. Scan for evidence to support your new thought. 6. Take Massive Action towards your new belief.
Believing new things - if you can establish mastery in this skill...you can create anything you want! Everything starts with a thought! Follow @artistsrisingco
It's Valentines Weekend and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share an exercise that we've been doing in my Mastermind for Creatives where we help ourselves as we practice believing new things and creating new thoughts by writing love letters to ourselves from our FUTURE selves. I do this as part of my daily morning routine and I model it for you here, teach you how to implement it as part of your own practice, and share an audible love letter TO YOU today...that will hopefully help you to really know how precious and valuable you are today.

She is the best-selling author of more than forty books, fiction and nonfiction; a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright. Commonly referred to as “The Godmother” or “High Priestess” of creativity, her tools are based in practice, not theory, and she considers herself “the floor sample of her own toolkit.” The Artist's Way has been translated into forty languages and sold over five million copies to date. Is article writing or a newsletter really worth it? Will anyone really read it? I say yes! Writing is a great exercise-it gets your juices flowing. Looking back, some of my writing is just funny! Look up the Book: The Artists Way. The author says to write morning pages to let your creativity freely flow (write like you talk); Ask other people for prompts (questions); Think of yourself as a gardener, who takes care of ideas. This takes the pressure off always trying to be creative. When you write…the ideas come! It's important to find a regular way to communicate with your audience. (besides podcasts, etc…) People want to hear your “voice.” Write TO your audience, but write what interests you too! Sometimes you just have to write! Don't be afraid of the blank page! (scary!) Read for ideas. Jot them down-don't lose them! Walkaways: 1. Have the mindset of an exercise with writing. Don't be so self-critical of your past writing 2. Just start writing-journaling. As a “gardener” you're just cultivating, then grabbing what's out there 3. Let your true voice be heard-write to your specific audience (your avatar) 4. Don't be afraid of the blank page. It's OK to repurpose material 5. Pick a platform and stick with it for a good length of time to get going. Then re-evaluate.
Time for a treat and success What would happen if instead of waiting to complete something your doing before you congratulate yourself and treat yourself for the achievement you you did in in the middle as well? Counter intuitive? maybe but it works and it works for everyone in any context. That's a BIG statement Cloughie Not really cos it does. Don't just trust me 'The Artists way' confirms this too as well as many more example. In my life it all started hearing about dolphins, I've mentioned this before but stay with me if you listened to that episode (and if you haven't then maybe you should and success will be your starting point) because adding this as a ritual to you goals/projects, everything is a goal/project by the way (think about it) :O) So come with me down this little part of our warren and put this to the test.
