Nobody wants to miss a concussion. Mind Mirror uses your cell phone to measure Pupillary Light Reaction or PLR. Glenn Bowers joins Ben Stephenson and Jeremy Jackson to discuss the new concussion tool. Artificial intelligence, mobile computing & pupillary light reflex (PLR) In 2022 Mind Mirror started because I was coaching my kids and missed a concussion with my own son. We saw an opportunity to take AI tech and pupillary light reflex to assess concussion risk within 30 seconds. Is Mindmirror used as an on-field assessment tool or a return-to-play tracking/monitoring system? Both, with the speed of the test and subjectivity taken out of the assessment, it can be a great tool for on-field assessments. It also provides an objective return-to-play measure providing clinicians with the ability to determine safe RTP without bias, subjectivity or dishonesty from patients. One study found that the PLR test isn't affected by exertion or emotions which can't be said about all of subjective tests commonly used for concussion testing.  Mind Mirror doesn't use baseline tests, so how are normative values collected? While baseline testing isn't required it is highly recommended.  Baseline testing for this model is extremely efficient, it only takes 7 seconds for each athlete to be tested and automatically stored in the system. Will be adding a roster system that can link the rosters with Healthy Roster, Rankone and other EMR software.  Could this help prevent lawsuits and protect athletic trainers when returning players with a possible brain injury? Is it lawfully sound? There is no single test to definitively determine if a brain injury has occured, we are more practically used as an objective test to determine if symptoms associated with a brain injury are present.  While most concussion testing is subjective we provide an objective measure.  What biomarkers are we testing? (like Sway tests balance, memory, and movement coordination) what makes the PLR test superior to these existing solutions?   Velocity of constriction Velocity of dilation The system calculates all 14 biomarkers and provides a probability score ranking them into 3 categories green, yellow, and red.  Green is less than 0.3 probability indicating the brain is likely healthy. Yellow is between 0.3 - 0.6 probability which is in the middle and requires further testing.   Red is above 0.6 and indicates there is a high chance that the patient has a concussion.  How was the AI software created? Iris, an old colleague from Italy had a cool idea and I knew that if we could figure out the technology this could be big.  We are already working with the U.S. military, collegiate, and high school settings. James van den Bergh, Chief Executive Officer of Trufin #TRU explains the significance of Satago's commercial agreement with Lloyds Bank and talks about progress within other parts of the business. Highlights TruFin is pleased to announce that following the conclusion of the commercial pilot first announced on 11 December 2020, and a competitive tender process, Lloyds Bank has confirmed its intention to enter into a commercial agreement to license Satago's software platform for its Single Invoice Finance and whole of book Invoice Factoring customers. Satago and Lloyds Bank have signed a letter of intent and are working towards finalising a commercial agreement in the coming months.  Satago's platform will introduce a new digitised proposition designed to help the Bank further support UK businesses. Satago expects to be paid a recurring fee for each customer of the Bank which utilises Satago's platform, as well as one-off implementation fees, with the final terms of this landmark agreement subject to commercial negotiation. TruFin is also pleased to announce that, ahead of signing the commercial agreement, Lloyds Banking Group has today completed an investment of £5 million of new equity capital in Satago, at a pre-money valuation of £20 million. All parties believe that the commercial agreement will be transformational for Satago and has the potential to deliver significant equity value uplift for Satago. TruFin has agreed to vary the terms of an existing £3 million loan to Satago so that it is convertible into equity capital in Satago at the same valuation as the LBG investment or, if a further funding round takes place, the valuation implied by the funding round. Assuming conversion based on the £20 million valuation (and assuming LBG does not subscribe for its pro rata entitlement to shares), TruFin would hold approximately 68% of Satago (on a fully diluted basis). In addition, the Company is delighted to announce Ben Stephenson will be appointed to the Board of Satago. Ben is Managing Director and Head of Specialist Client Solutions at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking and is responsible for the teams who provide SMEs with Invoice Finance, Trade, Payments, Asset Finance and Merchant Services solutions.  He sits on the Executive Committee of the LBG's SME and Mid Corporates Business and is a member of the UK Finance IF&ABL Product Board. As Satago rolls out its best-in-class platform to a growing pipeline of leading finance providers, the Board believes there are multiple value accretive developments to follow.

The rating was roughly comparable to the 2009 episode, Part 1, which had 10.0 million watching on BBC One and 0.4 million on BBC HD. A preview of the episode was shown during the annual on 19 November 2010.   The crew of a space liner carrying more than 4000 passengers struggles to maintain the ship's course while traveling through the strange cloud cover of a human-inhabited planet that interferes with their controls. Amy and Rory, aboard the liner for their honeymoon, send a distress call to the Doctor to help. The Doctor is unable to use the TARDIS directly to save the liner, and lands at a house topped by a giant antenna-like spire that seems to control the clouds. The sole resident of the house is bitter, peevish, old Kazran Sardick. The wealthiest and most powerful man on the planet, his father had built the spire. The Doctor tries to convince Kazran to turn off the cloud controls — isomorphically locked to him — but he mockingly refuses. Kazran, like his late father, considers the rest of the population of the planet little more than cattle, and cares not for the lives aboard the liner either. This becomes apparent to the Doctor when Kazran refuses to release a young woman, Abigail, from cryonic storage to her family for even a Christmas day. Recognizing that Kazran's father has had a significant effect on Kazran's life, the Doctor devises a scheme inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the idea being to influence Kazran in his past and present to become more compassionate to the lives aboard the liner. The Doctor visits a young Kazran shortly after his father had struck him for trying to experiment with a unique phenomenon of the planet: the ability of all manner of fish to "swim" in the foggy air. The Doctor discovers the ice in the clouds contain a weak electrical charge; this is what allows the fish to swim, but is also what is disrupting the space liner. The "boys" experiment with the fish anyway, until a shark attacks them and swallows the Doctor's sonic screwdriver. The Doctor recovers half, but inadvertently harms the shark in the process; it cannot return to swim in the clouds. The Doctor concludes that some sort of life support container could transport the shark safely to the clouds. Young Kazran shows the Doctor a system of cryonic chambers beneath the spire, where Kazran's father stores as "security" family members of people to whom he has lent money. Kazran directs the Doctor to Abigail's chamber; Kazran knows she had been fascinated by the fish before she was put into storage. They release her, and she sings to the shark, resonating with the ice crystals, and calming it. The three then successfully return the shark to the clouds. Before putting Abigail back into her chamber, Kazran promises that he and the Doctor will return every Christmas Eve to celebrate it with Abigail. The Doctor keeps this promise, travelling forward every year to reunite Kazran and Abigail, taking them across time and space, and watching them develop a romance as he grows to a young adult and is introduced to her family. However, after several Christmas Eves, Abigail reveals a secret to Kazran, leading him to decide to end the tradition and leave her in cryonic storage indefinitely. The Doctor gives the broken half of the sonic screwdriver to Kazran to use when he needs it. Meanwhile, in the present, older Kazran enjoys his many new memories, but, heartbroken at Abigail's fate, still refuses to disable the spire. From the liner, Amy appears to present-time Kazran as a hologram. She shows Kazran the crew of the doomed liner, singing Christmas carols, using the musical vibrations to partially stabilise the ship within the cloud system, just as Abigail calmed the shark, but still leaving the ship doomed to crash. Kazran waves away the holograms, continuing to refuse to release the controls. When the Doctor appears and tries to show Kazran his future, Kazran reveals Abigail's secret, that she was dying before she was frozen and will live only one more day outside of the chamber. Fully admitting that he will die alone, he values the one day left he has with Abigail over the thousands on the liner or the population of the planet. Unbeknownst to Kazran, the Doctor has brought young Kazran into the present to show the boy his future; he is shocked by his elder self's revelation. This change is reflected in the newly compassionate older Kazran, and he agrees to release the spire controls. They find, however, that the Doctor's interference has changed Kazran's past too much; Kazran's father, seeing his boy too kind to others, never programmed the spire's controls to recognise Kazran. The Doctor concocts a new plan: by unfreezing Abigail and having her sing through the broken half of the sonic screwdriver amplified by the spire, the other half, still inside the shark, would be able to resonate the ice crystals, disrupting the cloud field, and allowing the liner to safely land. Kazran is aware that Abigail will die after one day, but he releases her anyway; she comforts him, reminding him they have had many Christmas Eves together and it is time for Christmas Day to come. The Doctor's plan is successful, and as the ship safely lands on the planet, the breakup of the clouds releases snow across the city. As the Doctor takes young Kazran back to his past and reunites with Amy and Rory, the old Kazran and Abigail celebrate a shark-drawn carriage ride together. [] Continuity Several nods to earlier outfits in the series appear in A Christmas Carol. Amy Pond wears her policewoman's outfit from "", while Rory wears a centurion's outfit as seen in "". In one of the many Christmas Eves the Doctor and Kazran spend with Abigail, they present themselves to her in matching long, stripy scarves. The 's trademark accessory was long, striped scarves. The two also appear in fezes, an item of clothing the Doctor became fond of in "". The Doctor initially scoffs at the idea of "isomorphic controls" – controls that will operate only for a specific person or limited set of people. In the classic series the Doctor states to that the TARDIS controls are isomorphic, although many other characters are seen operating them. In "", the had a laser screwdriver with isomorphic controls. During one of his trips with Kazran and Abigail, the Doctor introduces them to and inadvertently ends up marrying , though he later attempts to claim that the ceremony did not take place in a legitimate chapel. The Doctor has hinted at marriage before during "", suggesting his wife was , which was also reported upon by Liz 10 in "". [] Production [] Writing According to Ben Stephenson, Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning, the episode is a "clever twist on the much loved ". I feel proud and honoured to have been given this opportunity to join a team of people that has worked so tirelessly to make the show so thrilling. "David Tennant has made the role his own, brilliantly with grace, talent and persistent dedication. I hope to learn from the standards set by him. The challenge for me is to do justice to the show's illustrious past, my predecessors and most importantly to those who watch it. I really cannot wait." Lead writer and Executive Producer Steven Moffat said "The Doctor is a very special part, and it takes a very special actor to play him. You need to be old and young at the same time, a boffin and an action hero, a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe. As soon as Matt walked through the door and blew us away with a bold and brand new take on the Time Lord, we knew we had our man. 2010 is a long time away but rest assured the Eleventh Doctor is coming - and the universe has never been so safe." Piers Wenger, Head Of Drama, BBC Wales added "With two hearts, a ferocious mind and over 900 years of experience behind him, it's not every 26 year old actor who can take on a role like the Doctor but within moments of meeting Matt he showed the skill and imagination needed to create a Doctor all of his own. It's just the beginning of the journey for Matt but with Steven Moffat's scripts and the expertise of the production team in Cardiff behind him, there is no one more perfect than him to be taking the TARDIS to exciting new futures when the series returns in 2010." Ben Stephenson, Controller BBC Drama added "I am delighted to see Matt take on this iconic role. It will see him continuing his relationship with the BBC following his performances in Ruby In The Smoke and Party Animals, and his upcoming role in Moses Jones. The combination of Matt, Steven and Piers will, I know, take Doctor Who onto new and even dizzier heights." Jay Hunt, Controller. BBC ONE said "Matt Smith will be a mesmerising eleventh Time Lord, true to the spirit of the show. He is a worthy successor to David Tennant who has been utterly remarkable in the role and promises to continue to be in next year's four special episodes."  Matt Smith Matt Smith, 26, grew up with his family including one sister in Northampton. He was head boy at Northampton School For Boys where he excelled at sports, music and drama. Initially, Matt wanted to be a professional footballer and played for Northampton Town Under 11 and 12s, Nottingham Forest Under 12,13,14s and Leicester City Under 15 and 16s before a back injury forced him out of the game. Following his injury, and with the encouragement of one of his teachers, Jerry Hardingham, Matt decided to join the National Youth Theatre. It was during this time that Matt first gained attention at the Royal Court Theatre when he was cast in the play Fresh Kills, directed by Wilson Milam, whilst still at the University Of East Anglia where he was studying Drama and Creative Writing. Already a stalwart of the National Youth Theatre, his performance at the Court led to a variety of theatrical experiences at the National Theatre: in the award winning History Boys (directed by Nick Hytner), On The Shore Of The Wide World (directed by Sarah Frankcom) and also in the acclaimed trio of plays Burn / Citizenship / Chatroom (directed by Anna Mackmin). These roles led to Matt's first outings on the small screen, alongside Billie Piper in Phillip Pullman's period detective stories, The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North, where he played Jim, right hand man to Billie's detective heroine Sally Lockhart. These pieces were followed by the lead role of Danny in the BBC Two series Party Animals, the brilliantly observed drama set in the world of young politicians. In a dazzling return to the Royal Court in 2007, Matt played Henry in Polly Stenham's award winning first play That Face, opposite Lindsay Duncan. His performance gained Matt an Evening Standard Best Newcomer nomination and a year later the play had a second life in the West End at the Duke of York's Theatre. In between the two runs, Matt played Guy opposite Christian Slater's Buddy in Swimming With Sharks, Mike Leslie's searing West End adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood film. In this time he also played a lead role in the BAFTA winning BBC One series, The Street, opposite Gina McKee and Lorraine Ashbourne. Matt has recently completed work on Moses Jones for BBC Two, directed by Michael Offer, in which he plays the lead role of Dan Twentyman, alongside Shaun Parkes in the title role.
