This week we talk about our experience at Six Flags Great Adventure: Heros and Villains Fest. It's safe to say our girls will forever love Cat Woman and the Joker now. We talk about the opening cavalcade, the dance parties, the ending street fight and how it became the memory of the summer for us. For the first time ever, we interviewed our 4 year old twin girls to get their honest take on it all! We can without a doubt say we hope to see this event for many years to come!
Send us a textIn 1976 a group of friends meet in the desert to record a podcast. There they stumble upon an abandoned town called Outcast, or maybe it was Conquest, we're not sure. But they are not alone. A family of masked psychopaths have claimed the town as their own and are hell bent on destroying the recording so no one can ever listen. On Episode 684 of Trick or Treat Radio we discuss the 70s-styled horror film Brute 1976 from director Marcel Walz! We also talk about why backwoods slashers just don't work the way they used to, the double standard of streaming services censoring art, and why this month will be a Shemptember to Remember! Welcome back to Not a Bomb! This is the podcast where we claw into cinema's biggest box office cat-astrophes and decide if they deserve a second life. We're feline pretty proud to be celebrating five years of batting around cinematic flops (the cat puns are just beginning, folks)! The Catwoman episode from Not A Bomb sounds like a glorious descent into the litter box of superhero cinema. Directed by Pitof (yes, just Pitof), this 2004 disaster ditched DC's iconic Selina Kyle for a leather-clad, basketball-playing Halle Berry—who somehow went from Oscar royalty to dodging CGI cats and shampoo-fueled villainy in under two hours. The film couldn't use Batman, Gotham, or any recognizable lore, and yet it still managed to purr its way into infamy. But leave it to Not A Bomb to find the silver whisker in the furball. With Jose from Watch Skip Plus bringing his signature energy, Troy suffering existential dread, and Brad unleashing a barrage of feline puns, this episode promises to be a riot. Whether Catwoman is a misunderstood gem or just a cinematic hairball, the debate is worth the listen. If you're ready to hear grown men meow through movie trauma, this is the episode to curl up with. To celebrate the last 25 years of film, the Not A Bomb podcast is compiling a Top 25 list from the Not A Bomb community. If you would like to submit your own list, please use this form to enter your 25 choices. For a film to be eligible, it must have been released between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2025. Those are the only rules. Thank you for being a part of the community! Stay tuned for a special episode revealing the results in December. Head over to Not A Bomb 25 in 25 to fill out the form!Want to help support the show? Head over to the Not A Bomb Tee Public store and check our merchandise. Special thanks to Ted Blair for the amazing designs! We're committed to hearing your feedback and suggestions. If there's a cinematic flop you'd like us to delve into, please reach out to us at NotABombPod@gmail.com or through our contact page. Your reviews and feedback are what drive us. Halle Berry is an Oscar winner, Catwoman is a beloved comic book icon, and Sharon Stone is the perfect villain. It would be tough to screw this movie up, but lo and behold! Jason, June and Paul welcome Jamie Denbo (Kevin Can F**k Himself, Grey's Anatomy) to discuss the 2004 superhero flop Catwoman. Despite the occasional girl power messages and sometimes amusing witticisms, it revealed itself to be a poorly scripted, oddly dated mess. Send us a textToday we're doing the impossible task of ranking every book in the entire Sarah J. MAAS averse, including Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Crescent City, and the lesser known standalone book and DC collaboration, Catwoman. That's SEVENTEEN books that are all 4+ stars that we pick apart with a fine-toothed comb to come up with one winner, and unfortunately, one at the bottom of the barrel. What's fun about this episode is that it's full of SJM spoilers and possible connections, if you've read them all and you're just here for the tea. It's also interesting to see how much our rankings have possibly changed over the years, and after doing rereads, buddy reads, and multiple podcast conversations. Our choices might just surprise you! Our hosts return to the podcave for one last ride through the shadowy streets of Batman: The Animated Series as they review its final episode, "Batgirl Returns."They break down this stylish send-off, praising the standout animation and the dynamic team-up between Batgirl and Catwoman—easily her best episode in the series. As they say goodbye to the original art style, the duo looks ahead to The New Batman Adventures, teasing what's to come with the revamped designs and shifting tone. Our hosts also discuss Bruce Wayne's mysterious trip to Paris, Rolland Daggett's no-nonsense villainy, and a surprisingly steamy undertone that had them wondering if this episode was this close to turning into a very different kind of show.Tip Jar: https://buymeacoffee.com/batmantaspodJoin Our Discord - https://discord.com/invite/bQF76V3nUsOutbreaks Vol. 1 Kickstarter - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/speechcomics/outbreaks-volume-1-an-ongoing-zombie-anthology-series?ref=discovery&term=outbreaks&total_hits=1475&category_id=252Follow us on TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@batmantaspod?_t=8zn1yhsgnfz&_r=1Follow us on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@batmantaspodFollow the Pod on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/batmantaspod/Follow the Pod on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BatmanTASPod/Follow the Pod on Twitter - https://twitter.com/batmantaspod1Subscribe to Will's Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/willrobsonSpeech Comics Website - https://www.speechcomics.com/Monster Mash 1-2 Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/speechcomics/mobster-mash-1-2-classic-movie-monsters-as-mobstersWill's WhatNot Page - https://www.whatnot.com/user/speechcomics

Jace and Rocky are back with the DC Comics weekly spotlight. It's a great week in Jace's opinion, but Rocky was less impressed. Absolute Batman make both top five lists with an incredbile origin for Absolute Bane, Absolute Flash also impresses with it's best issue in quite awhile. Jace also thought that Carwoman has it's best issue of the current run, though Rocky remains disconnected with the story which is more of an ensemble than a Catwoman-centric story. New Gods continues to build and the invasion of Earth doesn't feel far off. We have two canine focused stories, Krypto and the lead feature in Detective Comics #1100th issue and Jace ranked them very highly. The other co-features in Detective were also excellent as was the debut issue of Justice League Red, Wonder Woman stays just as divisive as ever with a big chunk of the episode breakign down Tom King's writing style and why so many people may like or dislike it. There are a lot more titles and a lot more opinions in this episode so join us for all the details!

On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, Kristian Harloff and Mike Kalinowski dive into a huge new DC rumor: Zoë Kravitz may NOT reprise her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Batman Part II! On this vintage episode of the Brand X Podcast, John Jamingo and Deuce take a nostalgic walk down memory lane, diving headfirst into the stories, debates, and cultural touchstones that shaped their youth. Kicking things off with a special March Madness-style "bracket game," the hosts pit iconic TV women from the 1960s and 1970s against each other to determine who reigns supreme in pop culture crushes. Along the way, they offer witty banter, personal anecdotes, and sharp opinions about what made these decades—and the women on their screens—so unforgettable. The conversation takes a sharp turn to a heated rant about New Jersey's controversial gas tax hike, sparking a broader discussion about taxation, state politics, and the everyday woes of living in the Garden State. Whether you're a fan of classic sitcoms or looking for a bit of cathartic commiseration over taxes, this episode has something for everyone. In this episode, Jamingo and Deuce discuss:The ultimate bracket showdown of classic TV women from the '60s and '70sWhy men love debating pop culture icons—and whether women care what men talk aboutPersonal favorites (Marcia Brady, Janet from Three's Company, Catwoman vs. Batgirl) and what made them irresistibleThe impact and fallout of New Jersey's notorious gas tax hike, plus a full-on rant about state mismanagement and taxesStories from growing up, working local jobs, and how daily life has changed from free roadmaps to price hikes at the pump

On this episode of Word Balloon, we're talking with the legendary Beau Smith — a true cowboy of comics. From creating the cult favorite Wynonna Earp to seeing it ride high as a hit TV series, Beau's journey is as action-packed as his stories. We dig into the roots of Wynonna, and how he's now teaming up with the show's stars Melanie Scrofano and Tim Rozon to bring new adventures to the page. But that's just the start. Beau shares his unfiltered thoughts on the new Superman movie, and why he thinks the portrayal of Guy Gardner may be the most accurate DC Comics adaptation to date — especially considering he wrote the book on Guy. We also hit the DC vaults to revisit Beau's time writing Catwoman, Wildcat, and other unsung gems that show his knack for tough characters with heart. If you love straight-talking creators and behind-the-scenes insight from someone who's lived it, this is a conversation you don't want to miss.

CATch Her in IMAX! On this week's episode of Hot Dave's Summer Film Fest Vol. V: The Future is Super Female!, Halle Berry plays Patience Phillips, a super hot nerd who is turned into a super hot Catwoman, as she battles a stone faced Sharon Stone who's out to turn the women of America into face cream addicted monsters – from visionary director Pitof, it's Catwoman! I'm your host, Dave, and joining me as we scrape the absolute bottom of the superhero barrel is fellow cinephile and Bast fanboy, Ryan. Topics of discussion in this episode include a question as to whether free movie vouchers included in Batman DVDs count towards a film's total box office gross; we wonder if the screenwriters used the Superhero Name Generator to come up with Catwoman's alter ego: Patience Phillips; and finally, we wonder how bad the shelved Batgirl movie could have possibly been if this was considered releasable. We'll be back next time as we stay in the early 2000s era of superhero films with 2005's forgotten snoozefest, Elektra.

In this trip back to the 1990s, the Geeks investigate two "Batman: The Animated Series" episodes, "Almost Got 'Im" and "Baby-Doll." These are two episodes chosen by Preston for Todd to sample. - "Almost Got 'Im" is an episode where a handful of Gotham City's biggest villains play poker & reminisce about times that they almost defeated Batman. What did the Geeks think about the villains' elaborate & questionable methods? - Where did the giant penny in the Batcave come from? - What big twists, from both episodes, did the Geeks refrain from completely revealing in their review? - Was a scene between Catwoman and Harley Quinn significant enough that the Bechdel Test would apply, and if so, did the scene pass or fail? - What did Todd think about Baby-Doll, the main villain in the 2nd episode reviewed? - What deeper meanings & social commentary did Preston appreciate and/or relate to, from the "Baby-Doll" episode? - How much, if at all, does Baby-Doll deserve some sympathy, despite her villainous actions? - Was Baby-Doll's plan smart...or not? - And, why did Preston choose these two particular episodes to review?Listen now for the answers to these and other vigilant questions as the Geeks investigate "Batman: The Animated Series."You can send us a message at discerninggeeks@gmail.com or leave a comment on episodes at podcast listening apps like Spotify and GoodPods. Jace and Rocky chat aobut he DC Comics titles for the week of June 18, 2025. A stellar week with some very solid titles. Superman Unlimited #2 picks up right where the first issue left off and things are going to be very challenging for the Man of Steel going forward with Kryptonite ever and a new power that is both a blessing and a curse. Detective Comics gives up a Batman/Penguin Team-up that is both formidable and funny, while the bond that we know exists between Batman and Robin begins to show in Year One. Absolute Flash gives us a glimpse at another Absolute version of a classic Rogues character, but will Wally be up to taking him on? Catwoman continues to be a complex story that may read better as a trade and in New Gods when the refugees arrive on Earth they are met with both empathy and hostility in equal measure until John Stewart takes matters into his own hands. Finally, Krypto is getting a detailed origin like we have never seen before and its a great balance of fun and emotional moments. Join the guys to hear all about these tilles and more this week from DC!

In this week's episode, we are speaking with Sassee Walker, founder of the non profit cat rescue Sassee Cats operating in New York City, specifically Brooklyn and East New York areas. She also works full-time for NYC Health and Hospitals in their billing department. Sassee started working in cat rescue and welfare in 2011 so she's been doing this for a long time. And she is another person out there, boots on the ground, walking the walk, and making a HUGE impact on the welfare of street cats in New York. She is also supporting and educating other animal lovers on how to trap through getting certified to do TNR or trap/neuter/return, and how we all can learn how to help so many cats get fed, vet care, and find homes. Sassee is deep in the stray cat trenches, and she's here to take us through a day in the life of a cat rescuer and what it really means to be all-in for one of our favorite companions. We're so happy to introduce you to our new favorite Catwoman. Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer were iconic, sure, but in our book no one beats Sassee Walker.Lots of Love.Time Stamps:Introduction: 00:16Interview: 6:32TA: 1:00:29Show Notes:https://www.sasseecats.org/https://www.instagram.com/sassee_badass_tnr/
