A new arc kicks off Batman/Superman: World's Finest #55, pairing Poison Ivy with Ra's al Ghul as they assemble a new group of Four Horsemen while Jace praises the cleaner look of Adrián Gutiérrez's art under Vicente Cifuentes' inks. The Bad Seeds crossover disrupts Selina's ongoing story throughout Catwoman #91, though the continued focus on her relationship with Carmine Falcone gives Jace and Rocky something worthwhile to latch onto. Amanda Waller's increasingly brutal power grab drives Dark Knights of Steel II #3, especially the apparent murder of Lara, which provokes one of the strongest reactions of the entire episode. Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow's Hand expands Cassandra's history with Lady Shiva, David Cain and the surviving League of Assassins while revealing a compassion that separates her sharply from her mother. Yara Flor leads the Titans back to the Esquecida for New Titans #39, where Static's unreliable powers and characterization prompt sharply different reactions from Jace and Rocky. Blüdhaven gets dragged into Bad Seeds during Nightwing #142 through the tragedy of a former Gotham resident, even though Jace would rather Dan Watters' regular storyline had continued uninterrupted. Kyle Starks and Steve Pugh keep the absurdity and emotion working side by side throughout End of Life #8, as Eddie's captivity, Little Cock's torture and one very unexpected return make it one of the week's standouts. Lobo's trip back to Czarnia turns into a trap during Lobo #7, launching "The Last Death of Lobo" while Jorge Corona's darker, more visceral artwork earns especially strong praise from Rocky. Joe Kubert: 100 Years — A Life in Covers becomes a celebration of Kubert's ability to tell a complete story through a single image, even as Jace objects to the omission of his beloved Star Spangled War Stories #138. Verity Pennyworth becomes unexpectedly important to Detective Comics #1113 when she uncovers the lethal flaw in Commissioner Savage's planned herbicide, while the backup introduces the new villain Rhetoric. The return to Wonder War gives Wonder Woman #37 a major Diana-and-Steve reunion and gorgeous Daniel Sampere artwork, though Jace feels the emotional payoff is muted and the issue functions mostly as setup. Superman Unlimited #17 pushes Kingdom of Zod closer to its conclusion as Lana Lang helps purge Superman's kryptonite poisoning and he realizes there may be a way to save everyone else as well. Absolute Green Arrow #5 appears to finally answer the book's central mystery before Pornsak Pichetshote delivers another twist that completely reframes what Jace and Rocky thought they understood. Kate Kane answers Batman's call during Batwoman #7, returning to Gotham to deal with Vandal Savage's forces in a Bad Seeds tie-in that Jace thinks is slightly more interesting than the book's ongoing story, though neither host is especially enthusiastic. Jace and Rocky break down all 9 DC releases for the week of September 9, 2026. Clayface: Celebrity Dirt #3 deepens the mystery around the two Basil Karlos, with Rocky praising the timely body-horror angle behind Lossomix while Jace finds the dual identities increasingly difficult to track. In Supergirl #17, Kara begins to understand Ursa's desire to save Krypton, while the time-travel mechanics leave Jace questioning how much damage their very presence in the past may cause. Action Comics #1102 pushes the dilemma further as Ursa tries to convince a younger Zod that Jor-El was right, while Kara wrestles with whether saving Krypton—and billions of lives—could erase Superman and all the good he would do. Batman and Robin: Year One — Dynamic Duos Chapter Two leans into Dick Grayson's banter with Alfred and his undercover infiltration of the juvenile gang, building toward an initiation that puts Catwoman directly in his path. This week we talk all about 2026's DC Heroes and Villians Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure. This event has become so near and dear to our hearts because our daughters love it so much (and so do we!) Every part of it from the characters (especially Catwoman) and dancers, to the shows and the workers who make it all run smoothly. This is such an amazing event! Matt Reeves' The Batman is a bold, moody reinvention of the Caped Crusader that leans hard into noir, atmosphere, and a version of Gotham that feels grimy, broken, and alive. Whether you loved the three-hour runtime or thought it dragged, this review digs into what works, what doesn't, and why The Batman has sparked so much debate.

Mostly Film – Take 247: Harrison Ford In Review — Episode 5BAn honest accounting of a difficult stretch. Jonathan and JP cover the long middle — eleven years, three films, roughly $165 million combined box office on budgets totalling nearly $180 million. None of them hits.First, K-19: The Widowmaker. The most defensible of the three — a genuinely ambitious film directed by Kathryn Bigelow, edited by Walter Murch, shot by David Fincher's cinematographer, based on a true Soviet nuclear disaster that was classified for 28 years. Ford was paid $25 million for approximately 20 days of filming and was advised by everyone around him not to take the role. He took it anyway, specifically because Vostrikov wasn't a hero. The surviving crew members sent an open letter objecting to the film. It opened to $12 million domestically on a $90 million budget, ten months after September 11, asking American audiences to empathise with Soviet naval officers. Bigelow's next film was The Hurt Locker, which won her the Oscar. The character of Polenin is based on the man many historians believe prevented World War Three during the Cuban Missile Crisis the following year.Then Firewall. The same Beacon Pictures team that made Air Force One tried to recapture that film's formula. They did not succeed. Ford was found sitting on the airport baggage carousel during a Vancouver shoot, going around in circles on his phone. Virginia Madsen thought his personal voicemail offering her the role was a prank call and didn't return it. Paul Bettany kept being told his punches were too soft until he finally hit Ford at full strength — Ford's response was "that's it." 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. The premise is stronger than the execution. The dog GPS sequence near the end is as bad as advertised.Then Paranoia. Ford in a supporting role behind Liam Hemsworth, reunited with Gary Oldman sixteen years after Air Force One with the dynamic inverted. 5% on Rotten Tomatoes — lower than Catwoman. Opened to $3.5 million domestically. Oldman didn't attend the premiere. The distributor filed for bankruptcy two years later. Jason Hall co-wrote the screenplay and went on to write American Sniper the following year. Richard Dreyfuss appears in a small role and his scenes with Ford are the warmest thing in the film, which tells you everything.Between 2002 and 2013 Ford made eight films outside of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. None of them worked. The question for the episode: was the decline inevitable, or were there different choices available? And is the commercial disappearance of Harrison Ford the movie star the same thing as the disappearance of Harrison Ford the actor?

After initially competing in both soccer and basketball, health issues pushed her toward focusing on basketball—and that decision changed everything.With her father helping develop her game, Chelsea became a relentless worker. She eventually helped Fairmont reach the state tournament all four years of her high school career and capped it by winning a state championship as a senior.But her college journey wasn't a straight line.Chelsea originally signed with Duquesne before eventually playing at Pitt and finding her way back home to Wright State. That move helped unlock another level of her game. She became a two-time First Team All-Horizon League selection and established herself as an elite scorer.Then basketball took her across the Atlantic.Chelsea signed professionally in Portugal, where being an American import came with one simple expectation: PRODUCE.And she did exactly that.Playing for CAB Madeira, Chelsea became one of the league's premier scorers and earned Import Player of the Year honors. Jace and Rocky break down all 13 DC releases for the week of August 19, 2026. Dark Knights of Steel #2 finds Amanda Waller's machinations continuing as an illness threatens Kara and the House of El, while Barbara Gordon serves as a literal Oracle and the developing relationship between Kal-El and Lois adds another layer to Tom Taylor's expanding fantasy world. Lobo #6 sends Lobo to Hell to battle the Tooth Fairy in an intentionally ridiculous detour, but the issue feels disconnected from the characters and plot threads Scotty Young had carried forward from the previous arc, making the story feel unusually disposable. End of Life #7 sees Eddie's attempt to do something genuinely good by rescuing a kidnapped kid land him in the hands of the killers hunting him, and after escaping another brutal beating he discovers Little Cock has finally caught up with him looking for revenge over the death of Big Cock. Beneath all the absurd violence and comedy, Eddie's relationship with his dying father continues to give the series a surprisingly human core. Deathstroke the Terminator #6 escalates Adeline's revenge from murdering Wintergreen to trying to kill Rose, forcing an already battered Slade into a confrontation with his ex-wife. Slade survives, but the real damage is psychological: stripped of his identity as the world's greatest assassin, he is left wondering what remains if he is no longer a "killer for hire" and is simply a killer. Catwoman #90 finally gives Maggie Kyle the chance to confront Black Mask and use a nerve agent against the man who murdered her husband and traumatized her, but what should have been a powerful moment of Maggie reclaiming her agency feels frustratingly abrupt and underdeveloped. The conclusion also leaves the fates of Black Mask and Katarina Belova open while Carmine Falcone remains firmly embedded in Selina's increasingly complicated family story. New Titans #38 brings Static to Titans Mountain while he struggles to control his powers, Yara Flor begins experiencing visions of her Amazonian homeland and Stephanie Brown continues growing into a leadership role. There are plenty of potentially interesting threads, but with so many characters competing for space, the issue feels disjointed and several of the Titans come across as noticeably younger and less experienced than their recent portrayals. Batman/Superman: World's Finest #54 drags Batman, Superman and their fellow heroes into Hell for a baseball game against its denizens in a deliberately absurd one-and-done that recalls DC's old Super-Sports stories. Mark Waid makes the ridiculous premise work, although for an actual baseball story, Jace wanted considerably more baseball. Absolute Flash #18 keeps expanding Wally's world as Absolute Hunter Zolomon, Director Bones and Eleanor Thawne all enter the picture, while Eleanor genuinely believes the Absolute Justice League are the good guys. Ralph Dibny may also have just experienced the event that gives him his powers, setting up a potentially wild confrontation between Wally, Abra Kadabra and Hunter Zolomon. Batwoman #6 flashes back through most of its story to events before the series began, clarifying how Kate and Beth reached the point where their stories diverged, before the final pages return to the present after Kate has rescued her sister. The added context helps explain some of the confusion from the first five issues, although ending with both sisters seeing the same psychiatrist still leaves the series in an unusual place moving forward. Absolute Green Arrow #4 provides more context for Absolute Oliver Queen's values and creates a stark contrast with Hector Hammond's depravity, while a terrifying Absolute Solomon Grundy enters the picture and Dinah Lance appears increasingly close to manifesting powers of her own. The lingering question remains whether the mysterious Green Arrow can actually be Oliver at all when Hammond claims Oliver Queen died and attempts to resurrect him failed. Nightwing #131 has Dick preparing to turn himself in over the catastrophic bridge accident no one believes was caused by a witch, only for another woman to suddenly confess to being the witch herself. That apparent manipulation deepens the supernatural mystery as events from Blüdhaven's past continue reaching into the present and Nightwing remains caught in the middle. Wonder Woman #36 continues Steve Trevor's telling of the story of the woman he loves to his daughter as Stephanie Williams retells Diana's origin with strong Clayton Henry artwork. There is little here that substantially changes the familiar story, but framing it through Steve sharing Diana's history with a daughter who is equal parts Steve and Diana gives the retelling some added emotional resonance.
