Are you wondering why Your SaaS GTM Isn't Working, And How to Fix It with Operational Discipline? In today's competitive business environment, success depends not just on great products, but on how effectively you bring them to market. Yet, many companies struggle with go-to-market (GTM) strategies that fall apart under pressure. Why? Because marketing and sales often operate in silos, pulling in different directions instead of working as a unified force. Think of it this way: marketing should act as the recon team, gathering intelligence, identifying opportunities, and setting the stage. Sales, on the other hand, is the strike team—responsible for execution and closing. When these two functions are misaligned or overloaded with conflicting motions, the result is confusion, inefficiency, and missed revenue. In this episode of the Grow Your B2B SaaS Podcast, Joran Hofman sits down with Head of GTM Garrath Robinson to explore why most GTM strategies fail—and how a disciplined, military-inspired approach can help businesses stay focused, aligned, and ready to win.Key Timecodes(0:00) – The Battlefield of Business(1:12) – Meet Garrath Robinson: From Combat Veteran to Growth Architect(1:39) – GTM Gone Wrong: Real-World Horror Stories(5:52) – What Is a Go-To-Market Motion, Really?(7:17) – When Motions Collide(8:33) – Leadership Fails and GTM Breakdown(13:26) – Inside the Strike Operating System(19:51) – Signal Calibration: Finding What Really Moves the Needle(22:47) – Marketing 2.0: From Arts & Crafts to Operational Powerhouse(26:09) – Avoiding the GTM Trap: Common Pitfalls to Watch For(31:43) – Give It Time: The Patience Behind Real Transformation(33:16) – The People Behind the Process(35:12) – Garrath's Golden Rule: Discipline Over Dollars(36:41) – Building the Future: Gut Instinct, Fundamentals, and Human Connection(39:33) – Scaling Revenue: From 0 to $10K MRR and Beyond(44:15) – Wrapping Up: Key Takeaways + Connect with Garrath Robinson

In this Lughnasadh 2025 episode, the witches celebrate the first harvest and the lessons woven into this sacred turning of the Wheel. They honor Tailtiu, the earth goddess whose hard work cleared the land for future generations, and reflect on how her story calls us to roll up our sleeves and tend our own lives with care and intention. But this year we remember that Tailtiu worked herself to death, and that honoring her means not only embracing hard work, but also learning the sacred art of self-care. They share ways to find balance during this busy season, from simple magical routines to small rituals of rest that keep your energy grounded and sustainable. They also honor Lugh, the bright and many-skilled god, and the sun's golden power that ripens the fields. Crafts take center stage this year, with a special focus on drying and preserving herbs, a timeless way to honor the harvest while stocking your magical pantry for the months ahead. Whether you're baking bread, crafting charms, or simply watching the August sun dip low, this episode invites you to honor the work, the rest, and the magick of this abundant season.Got a question? The man who founded Artichoke is our guest on the Country Life Podcast this week, talking us through the history of the brand, as well as his own personal journey as a craftsman, and what the future holds for heritage crafts.Bruce's journey to Artichoke wasn't what we'd call traditional. After ‘being asked to leave' school, and a brief stint in the army, he returned to the thing that made him happy as a child. But it wasn't straight into the Country Life Top 100 for him — he spent 15 years working as a carpenter before Artichoke became synonymous with elegance, timelessness and quality.• Listen to Country Life podcast on Apple Podcasts• Listen to Country Life podcast on Spotify• Listen to Country Life podcast on AudibleBruce's is a fascinating story, but he's not done yet. Not satisfied with creating one of the country's most well-respected interiors companies, he's determined to put making and craftsmanship back into the spotlight.Whether it's little steps, such as re-framing woodworking away from being just ‘a hobby' and to be taken more seriously as a career, to larger projects such as the Inspiring Makers conference, apprenticeships, work experience and the Artichoke School of Furniture, it's clear that in Bruce, making has a fine champion.Episode creditsHost: James FisherGuest: Bruce HodgsonEditor and producer: Toby KeelMusic: JuliusH via Pixabay Hosted on Acast. `This is a dynamic and inspiring community panel on the joyful power of arts activism. In a time when many are facing systemic erasure — politically, socially, and culturally — Pottery Northwest is transforming art into resistance through equity-driven programming that uplifts Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ voices. Moderated by James Miles, the panel features ceramicist Aisha Harrison, former legislator Kirsten Harris-Talley, and Pottery Northwest Executive Director Ed King. Leading Pottery Northwest is a privilege for Ed King after a career as an award-winning visual artist and ad agency art director in Miami. He has held roles as an arts administrator at ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale and the Chief Operating Officer of Creative Pinellas in St. Petersburg. King is deeply passionate about non-profit arts leadership, advocating daily for the financial well-being of working artists — a crucial element of a thriving creative economy. He is committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity, ensuring that the arts serve as a powerful tool for personal growth, community building, and social change. Aisha Harrison is a studio and public artist working primarily in clay and bronze. Aisha is currently working on a solo show at Bainbridge Museum of Art in Fall 2025, as well as a large-scale outdoor public art commission with The University of Washington Tacoma and the Washington State Arts Commission to be unveiled in 2026. She has done residencies at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Women's Studio Workshop, and Baltimore Clayworks. Aisha has taught at Pottery Northwest, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Penland School of Crafts, The Evergreen State College, Bykota Senior Center, Baltimore Clayworks, University of Nebraska- Lincoln, and the Lux Center for the Arts. Kirsten Harris-Talley (she/her) is Co-Founder of In The Works; building belonging, anti-racism, and repair practice with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, and youth led organizations and movements. She previously served as a Seattle City Councilmember and a Washington State Representative. She is an activist and power building strategist; championing Reproductive Justice and the #BlackLivesMatter movement for abolition. Kirsten believes the personal is political – that which we practice is how we show up in the world – and she invites us to be whole, accountable, and caring. He's an Assistant Professor at Seattle University and the Chief Strategic Officer at Path with Art. The Author Events Series presents Rebecca Romney  | Jane Austen's Bookshelf: A Rare Book Collector's Quest to Find the Women Writers Who Shaped a Legend  REGISTER In Conversation with Allie Alvis  Jane Austen's Bookshelf investigates the disappearance of Austen's heroes--women writers who were erased from the Western canon--to reveal who they were, what they meant to Austen, and how they were forgotten. Each chapter profiles a different writer including Frances Burney, Ann Radcliffe, Charlotte Lennox, Charlotte Smith, Hannah More, Elizabeth Inchbald, Hester Lynch Thrale Piozzi, and Maria Edgeworth--and recounts Romney's experience reading them, finding rare copies of their works, and drawing on connections between their words and Austen's. Romney collects the once-famed works of these forgotten writers, physically recreating Austen's bookshelf and making a convincing case for why these books should be placed back on the to-be-read pile of all book lovers today. Jane Austen's Bookshelf will encourage you to look beyond assigned reading lists, question who decides what belongs there, and build your very own collection of favorite novels. Rebecca Romney is a rare book dealer and the cofounder of Type Punch Matrix, a rare book company based in Washington, DC. Rebecca is the author Printer's Error: Irreverent Stories from Book History (HarperCollins; with JP Romney) and The Romance Novel in English: A Survey in Rare Books, 1769-1999; her current book is Jane Austen's Bookshelf (Simon & Schuster), chronicling her efforts to build a book collection of Austen's favorite women writers. Since 2011 she has appeared as the rare book specialist on the History Channel's show Pawn Stars; she was also featured in the 2019 documentary The Booksellers.  Allie Alvis is Curator of Special Collections of the Winterthur Library, where they are responsible for the stewardship and engagement of the collection. They have previously worked as an antiquarian bookseller at Type Punch Matrix (Washington, DC) and as the special collections reference librarian for the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives. Allie's research is diverse and far-reaching, with interests in physical patterns of use in books, the history of ephemera, and Arts and Crafts bookbindings. They are particularly involved in the study and act of using social media for communicating book history, and maintain popular accounts across various platforms as Book Historia. Greg Jenner is joined in Victorian England by Dr Isabella Rosner and comedian Cariad Lloyd to learn all about the ethos, practitioners and creations of the Arts and Crafts movement. Most people have heard of William Morris, one of the leaders of the Arts and Crafts movement that came to prominence in England in the last decades of the 19th Century. His abstract, nature-inspired designs still adorn everything from wallpaper and curtains to notebooks and even dog beds. And the company he founded, Morris & Co., is still going strong. But the history of this artistic movement, and the other creatives who were involved, is less well known.Arts and Crafts, which advocated a return to traditional handicrafts like needlework, carpentry and ceramics, was a reaction to the Industrial Revolution and included a strong socialist vision: its practitioners wanted everyone to have access to art, and to be able to enjoy homes that were comfortable, functional and beautiful. This episode explores Morris and other creatives both in and outside his circle, including Edward Burne-Jones, May Morris, Gertrude Jekyll and Philip Webb. It looks at the ethos that inspired them, the homes and artworks they created, and asks how radical their political beliefs really were. This is a radio edit of the original podcast episode.
