Jared Leto's Joker Is Getting His Own Movie According to a Variety report, the actor will star in and executive produce the film, which is said to be “paving the way” for additional Suicide Squad spin-offs. Warner Bros. had a film focused on Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in development before Suicide Squad even landed in theaters, but the Joker news suggests that the studio's efforts to turn Squad into its own mini-cinematic universe are solidifying. Chrono Trigger's PC port is getting the original SNES graphics back Square Enix says that three patches are coming to fix the Steam version's problems. Chrono Trigger's surprise release on Steam in February was great news for fans of the classic role-playing game, right up until the point they saw what Square Enix had actually released. The Windows PC version of Chrono Trigger wasn't a faithful recreation of the SNES original, but a poorly received port of one of the company's mobile releases. Duffer Brothers Accused Of Lifting ‘Stranger Things' From 2012 Short Film Charlie Kessler, who directed the short film Montauk that debuted at the 2012 Hamptons International Film Festival, filed a lawsuit Tuesday (read it here) in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming he pitched the Montauk concept to Matt and Ross Duffer in April 2014 at a Tribeca Film Festival party and later presented “the script, ideas, story and film” to the duo that they allegedly used to develop their hit series. Spotify valued at nearly $30 billion in unusual Wall Street debut Spotify opened at $165.90 a share on the New York Stock Exchange Tuesday. The stock later fell below $150 a share. Its Wall Street debut has been closely followed in recent weeks as much for the unconventional approach to a public offering it chose as for the company itself. Unlike traditional IPOs, Spotify did not raise new capital. Instead it simply listed existing shares directly on the stock exchange without relying on underwriters to attract investors, set a price and stabilize the stock as it begins trading. Kicking off with our huge announcement! That's right, digitalSoup is an official member of the GonnaGeek.com Podcast Network! The guys then dive into some more of Jason's PC woe's and his plans on his next build which includes the new Ryzen SKU. Atari announces the Ataribox, a mystery machine in the making. Samsung finally releases their new Frame TV at a premium price and then the conversation stays with TV and movies including a potential John Wick TV spinoff and a “What If” discussion about movies swapping cultures. Plus move over Pokemon Go because Garfield Go is now a real thing! Weekly Riddle: A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. Through the second door there is a fire-breathing dragon. How does the man escape? Answer at the end of the episode! Atari is working on a new console called the Ataribox?!?! Atari CEO Fred Chesnais told GamesBeat in an exclusive interview that his fabled video game company is working on a new game console. Chesnais declined to describe a lot of details about the console. But he said it is based on PC technology. He said Atari is still working on the design and will reveal it at a later date. Samsung's Frame TV The TV that looks like a piece of framed artwork on your wall is now available for purchase for the low price of $1999 - $2799 plus up to an additional $500 depending on how you want to customize the materials and look of the frame. A John Wick TV Series in the works? It looks like we'll be seeing the universe of John Wick, the super mysterious world of assassins, brought into a TV Series mode. While no networks have been announced just yet, it's in development at Lionsgate and is going by the working title of “The Continental”. Keanu is not the star, but is slated for guest appearances. Garfield GO! So in a true knock off of the popular Pokemon GO Mobile game, apparently Garfield GO is a real thing. Described on their site as a “brand new augmented reality treasure hunt game, featuring everyone's favorite lasagna-loving cat!” you can now go adventuring with Garfield. Looks to be available on both iOS and Android and available in the US, Canada and Australia. The Weekly Garnish 98DEMAKE YouTube Channel Ever wondered what some of your favorite modern games would have looked like on the original PlayStation? Me neither, but now that I've seen these I can't help but be intrigued! The Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Stargate Pioneer, Agent Haley, and Agent Lauren discuss the Iron Fist premiere episode “Snow Gives Way.”   THIS TIME ON LEGENDS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.:   Iron Fist “Snow Gives Way” Marvel News Since Last Show Listener Feedback   IRON FIST “SNOW GIVES WAY” [03:45]   IRON FIST SERIES OVERVIEW   Netflix made all 13 episodes of Iron Fist available on Friday March 17th, 2017.   MAIN CAST   Finn Jones - as - Danny Rand / Iron Fist (The Sarah Janes Adventures, Game Of Thrones) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3645691/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A billionaire Buddhist monk and martial artist proficient in kung-fu, with the ability to call upon the mystical power of the Iron Fist. Jones described the character as "someone struggling to find his identity", and identified with the character's loneliness being an orphan like Rand. He noted that "Danny gets really stressed and really pissed off sometimes, and I understand that ... [his] optimism and where that comes from."In preparation for the role, Jones studied kung fu, wushu, and tai chi, along with weight training, Buddhist philosophy, and meditation. Toby Nichols portrays a young Danny Rand.   Jessica Henwick - as - Colleen Wing (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game of Thrones) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3725055/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A martial artist ally of Rand who runs her own martial arts dojo called Chikara Dojo in New York City. Henwick felt the most defining word for Wing was "alone", saying, "She doesn't want to be anyone's love interest and open herself up in that way." Henwick also tried "to pull out that sort of very dry humor that [Wing] has, and that no bullshit New Yorker demeanor" from the comics version in her portrayal.   Tom Pelphrey - as - Ward Meachum (Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Banshee) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1670601/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 The son of Harold and childhood acquaintance of Rand, whose work building up Rand Enterprises with his sister Joy is threatened to be undone with Rand's return. Ward is a character from the comics, though Pelphrey noted "we’re not necessarily beholden to representing him [in the series] exactly as he appears in the comic book." Stroup said that Ward would experience some "male angst" on Rand's return, because "Ward would have been the one who picked on [Rand] when he was little so as pure and innocent and great as Iron Fist is, he comes in and he causes some problems" there. Ilan Eskenazi portrays a teenage Ward Meachum.   Jessica Stroup - as - Joy Meachum (90210, The Following, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1888211/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 The daughter of Harold and childhood acquaintance of Rand, whose work building up Rand Enterprises with her brother Ward is threatened to be undone with Rand's return. Stroup said that Joy "absolutely loves" Rand, and his return to New York is "like this rebirth of what she once was, and she gets to ask these questions about herself because he’s posing them to her." Stroup said that Joy would initially be unsure whether Rand is who he says he is. Aimee Laurence portrays a young Joy Meachum.   Ramón Rodríguez - as - Bakuto (The Wire, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Charlie's Angels TV Series, Need for Speed) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1913125/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t9 A leader of a faction of The Hand and Colleen Wing's sensei.   Sacha Dhawan - as - Davos (After Earth, An Adventure in Space and Time, Sherlock) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0223527/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A skilled martial artist who is the son of Lei Kung and Rand's former best friend in K'un-Lun, who grew envious when Rand became the Iron Fist. Although Dhawan first appeared in the ninth episode of the first season, Dhawan noted that the majority of Davos' storyline was intended to be explored in a potential second season.   Rosario Dawson  - as - Claire Temple (Josie and the Pussycats, Men in Black II, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Sin City, Rent, Clerks II, Robot Chicken, Gemini Division, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0206257/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A former nurse from Hell's Kitchen who joins Wing's dojo. Dawson reprises her role from previous Marvel Netflix series.   David Wenham  - as - Harold Meachum (Moulin Rouge!, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, After the Deluge, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Van Helsing, 300, 300: Rise of an Empire, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920992/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A ruthless corporate leader and co-founder of Rand Enterprises who was partners with Rand’s parents at the time of their deaths. Regarding Harold's relationship with his children, Joy and Ward, Wenham said the dynamic between the three of them "is complex, to say the least. It’s multilayered, it’s multidimensional, it’s surprising and it’s forever changing, depending on the circumstances."   RECURRING CAST   David Furr as Wendell Rand (Bit part actor in a ton. Noted for appearances in 13 Hours, TURN: Washington's Spies) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2412970/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Danny's father and co-founder of Rand Enterprises.   Barrett Doss as Megan http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5495383/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A secretary to Danny Rand and the Meachums at Rand Enterprises.   Alex Wyse as Kyle http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2537879/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Harold Meachum's personal assistant.   Marquis Rodriguez as Darryl http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2532658/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 A student at Wing's dojo. Rodriguez reprises his role from Luke Cage.   Wai Ching Ho as Gao http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0387395/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 An accomplished woman and former ally of Wilson Fisk with her own heroin trade in Hell's Kitchen who has connections with The Hand. Following the series' debut online via streaming, reviews for Iron Fist were predominantly overall negative with critics calling it "easily the worst of the Netflix Marvel shows." In December 2016, it was announced that he would return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the showrunner and executive producer for the Marvel, IMAX Corporation, and ABC television series Inhumans.   Directed By: John Dahl http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001093/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1#director 46 Directing Credits spanning back to 1989 that include: 1 x Battlestar Galactica 1 x Breaking Bad 4 x True Blood 2 x Caprica 1 x Falling Skies 1 x Arrow 4 x The Vampire Diaries 1 x Person Of Interest 16 x Dexter 2 x The Americans 10 x Californication 2 x Outlander 3 x The Bridge 2 x House Of Cards 6 x Justified 2 x Hannibal 1 x Jessica Jones 2 x Iron Fist   Written By: Scott Buck http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0118420/?ref_=tt_ov_wr#writer 13 credits since 1991 15 x Coach 1 x Everyone Loves Raymond 7 x Six Feet Under 2 x Rome 18 x Dexter 3 x Iron Fist 1 x Inhumans ALSO: He’s the “Showrunner” for both Iron Fist and Inhumans   “SNOW GIVES WAY” Meaning of “Snow Gives Way”   Danny Rand shoelist on the streets of New York - Company ad plays in the lobby - Fights his way into Rand Industries - Sees Ward and Joy on the 45th floor - Harold Meachum is dead. As the digital assistant wars heat up the Amazon Echo Show comes out with a brand new touchscreen feature while Microsoft's Cortana get's a holographic upgrade. Some big releases for XBox One and their backwards compatibility sale and the release of Injustice 2, both happening May 16th. The new Star Trek: Discovery series is winding up, tiny drone technology coming to the military and law enforcement and Jason has a special thank you and treat for all digitalSoup listeners with an invite to his own personal server on the great pc game, Ark: Survival Evolved. WEEKLY RIDDLE: Feed me and it will give me life. But give me a drink and I will die. What am I? ANSWER AT THE END OF THE EPISODE! Amazon Echo Show: The digital assistant wars continue to heat up as Amazon announced the Echo Show, a new hybrid of the popular Echo device that now includes a 7” touchscreen to allow Alexa to not just give you answers, but show them to you. From watching YouTube videos, such as those done by Jason on gaming and Dave on photography, to making video calls and of course all of the standard Echo functionality this has potential to be the next direction in the war between Apple, Google and Amazon. But what about Microsoft's Cortana? Who cares you say? Well, according to Microsoft there are more than 145 million users of their personal assistant within Windows 10, but one man has taken it to the next level. Mr. Jarem Archer has taken it upon himself to build a “holographic” version of the famous Cortana, much like we saw in the popular gaming series Halo. Huge Sale on XBox One backwards compatibility games starting May 16th!: All XBox One owners get set as games will be discounted up to 75%! Full list of titles is not yet available but so far the expected sales will include Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV and Skate 3. Star Trek: Discovery: While there has been no official release date set, this prequel to Star Treck: The Original Series is set to star Riann Wilson and looks to give Trek fans a brand new series to dive into. But there is a catch, being able to watch it may be tricky. Creepy Lights Out video short that the feature lengthy movie was based on. Watch at your own risk because this one takes the creepy factor up to 11! Tiny drones giving soldiers more visual range: The Snipe Nano Quadrotor, a pocket sized drone made by AeroVironment, is set to be added to the regular arsenal of our soldiers in the battlefield. Created to be nearly silent, they have great range and a top speed of 22mph, it's another great tool to help keep our soldiers safe. Should also be released to our law enforcement agencies by the end of the year. Great tool or getting too close to big brother-esque spying?
