In the 249th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave have the delightful pleasure of inviting back to the show the (unfortunately former) ImagineEars podcast hosts Matt Appleby and Susie Denton -- and when Matt and Susie show up, you know its a big deal! And thus, the two part ep leading to Ep 250, where all four give their list of their 25 favorite Disney Films of all time (as Susie says, "not the best... but our favorites." Whether its Princess Mia or McQueen or Angela Lansbury or going Zero to Hero, the foursome are here to serve up the first parts of their lists, leading to next week's Top 10!
It's the start of a new year, which means it's time for a new round of Movie ReFlicktions, as Mikey, d$, and #XLessDrEarl are back to ReFlickt'd all the movies they've seen in the last several weeks! A double dose of Liam Neeson kicks off the reviews, with Producer Tommy's offspring in a Lifetime Movie, The Don' biopic, a cartoon Hobbit, Jerry Buts is back with his thievery den, and Dr. Earl goes old school with some Javert and Jean Valjean. Also, d$ continues his love for his Hollywood beloved, but fears for the choices being made. A slate of documentaries cover everything from Superman to Kermit to The Beach Boys to Michael McDonald's sound in Yacht Rock music. Plus a random chat about young Hollywood and much more. Here are the movies reviewed, and where to find them at the time of recording: In the Land of Saints and Sinners You Better Watch Out (Lifetime Movie Network) A Complete Unknown (theaters) The Apprentice (rental) Nightbitch (Hulu) Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story (MAX) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (theaters) Jim Henson: Idea Man (Disney+) NR24 (Netflix) The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (Paramount+) Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (Netflix) Music by John Williams (Disney+) Challengers (Amazon Prime; MGM+) Thelma (Hulu) Wolfs (AppleTV) The Substance (rental) I Used to be Funny (Netflix) A Different Man (MAX) Les Miserables (The Criterion Channel) Kill ‘Em All 2 (Netflix) Darkness of Man (Hulu) Marlowe (Amazon Prime) Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (in theaters) Kneecap (Netflix) The Greatest Night in Pop (Netflix) Brats (Hulu) Yacht Rock (MAX) The Beach Boys (Disney+) Moana 2 (in theaters) The Brutalist (in theaters) Unfrosted (Netflix) A Real Pain (Hulu) Wicked (in theaters) Through a Glass Darkly (MAX; The Criterion Channel) Flow (for rental) Wolfman (in theaters) Back in Action (Netflix) Nickel Boys (in theaters) Maria (Netflix) Lee (Hulu)
It's official -- Muppet*Vision 3D is getting replaced with Monsters Inc. in Walt Disney World. The Muppets are getting punted to the Rock N Roller Coaster, but the last Muppets project that Jim Henson himself worked on will be no more. And the internet is FURIOUS.

Your support means the world to me. And to the incredible guests who have shared their stories, and the publicists and teams who have trusted my brand, I am truly grateful. His insights and passion for all things Disney are sure to make this a memorable conversation. Drew Smith is an Orlando, Florida-based content creator. He specializes in creating content on Disney Parks, The Walt Disney Company, and more. He was born next to Disneyland Resort, and that's where his love for Disney began. Drew started creating content in 2017 on arcades and taught people how to win jackpots before moving to Orlando in 2018. He has since called the Walt Disney World Resort his second home. On this episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Drew shared his favorite Disney Parks attraction, his take on the 2024 Disney D23 Expo's announcement regarding Villains Land, and whether these new additions could counter the Universal Orlando Resort's Epic Universe theme park.Let's connect on social media! This week Sarah and Kerry enjoy watching Michael Caine star in The Muppet Christmas Carol!
It took over 12 years to get here, but here we are. Dave, Mikey, and #XLessDrEarl are at the penultimate episode of an episode that feels bigger than 500. A hundred eps bigger, as a matter of fact... This is Episode 599. As the Big Bracket finally takes shape, there are 27 movie roles that will vie for the title of "Most Iconic Movie Role of All Time" -- from Indiana Jones to Sally Albright to Derek Zoolander to James Bond and more... but we don't need 27. We need 36. And to fill the final 9 roles, we've asked a podcasting legend, the one, the only Geek Out Loud's Steve Glosson to join the show and discuss. With over 40 iconic movie roles in play, most will be eliminated outright, as round by round, more and more famous legendary names are dispensed, tossed aside like Mikey tosses aside Star Wars now... Ethan Hunt gets a final shot... Harry Potter hopes to work some magic... Lord of the Rings has several nominees... Keanu Reeves has two up for debate... familiar names, previous losers like Carl Spackler, Freddy Krueger, and Kermit the Frog try once more. And at the end of the episode, only 9 remain. The Final 9.
David Wright and Mark Radulich present their The Muppets ABC 2015 TV Review! The Muppets (stylized as the muppets.) is an American sitcom that originally aired on ABC from September 22, 2015, to March 1, 2016. Co-created by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell, the series was produced by ABC Studios and The Muppets Studio, with Randall Einhorn and Muppet performer Bill Barretta serving as executive producers alongside Prady and Kushell. On May 12, 2016, ABC cancelled the series after one season. The series is set in Los Angeles and depicts the everyday personal and professional lives of The Muppets during production of Up Late with Miss Piggy, a fictional late-night talk show starring Miss Piggy. The Muppets serves as a parody of other mockumentary-style series, such as The Office, Modern Family, and Parks and Recreation by employing the same single-camera setup filming style with the implication of a documentary crew filming everyone. The series stars Muppet performers Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, David Rudman, Matt Vogel, and Peter Linz in multiple roles.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsosnapchat: markkind76FB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulich

Hayley, Nicole and Shauna reunite to celebrate the holidays Pop Culture Junkie-style: by talking about their favorite holiday movies. Shauna's is Jingle All the Way, and she challenges everyone to do their best Schwarzenegger accent. Hayley stans Muppet Christmas Carol which begins a debate about which Muppet is the sexiest (the answer may surprise you!) And finally, Nicole's favorite is Home Alone 2 (despite a cameo appearance by you-know-who) and maintains it's better than the original. Which of the three movies is objectively the best? Also, the Junkies list other underrated holiday movie go-tos, and challenge popular opinion by dissing some beloved Christmas classics. “How could The Exorcist be your LEAST favorite scary movie?” Gratuitous thunderclaps, ominous church bells ringing in the chapel, creepy haunted castles, ghosts & poltergeists, witches & werewolves, paranormal and supernatural activity, candy… That's right: candy!!! It was a dark time for moviegoers. After Muppets from Space failed to meet expectations, the Muppets took an extended break from the big screen. But following Disney's acquisition of the characters in 2004, they finally made their long-awaited return to cinemas with 2011's The Muppets. And judging by the box office receipts, the world welcomed them back with open arms. Film critic Dede Crimmins joins the show to talk about the Disney-produced legacy sequel that (temporarily) restored Kermit and friends to their former glory. We'll talk about how Walter (performed by Peter Linz) brings a fresh perspective to the franchise in The Muppets, the film's balance of human and Muppet characters, and Kermit and Miss Piggy's relationship status. This week, the Junkies are excited to welcome Rachel Herrick, aka Adorkable Rachel, a Sesame Workshop-trained puppeteer who has lent her puppeteering skills to shows like The Afterparty and Crank Yankers. Rachel is also a voice actor, singer, writer, YouTuber, and a Marie Kondo-wannabe. Hayley is excited to talk all things Muppets with Rachel, while Nicole asks Rachel about her YouTube channel. Shauna is interested in the mechanics of puppeteering, and Alex wants to know the difference between voicing puppets and animated characters. Then Rachel does a mean Marlon Brando impression, coaches all The Junkies on what they would need should they ever want to voice a videogame character, and discusses her pop culture fandoms and how Titanic is all about falling in love with the ship. In the 105th episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave have what turns out to be a long conversation about one of their favorite entertainment troops -- The Muppets! First, the breaking news of 2023 packages... Genie+ changes and why it might be a good thing... and the official ways you can experience Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. Then, on the week anniversary of Muppet*Vision 3D (1991)and Jim Henson's death (1990), Dave goes over the relationship between Disney and The Henson Co, including all the things that almost were, but were canceled (Gonzo's restaurant! The Muppet ride! Disneyland becoming Muppetland??), and then Jenn and Dave talk about their childhood and how the Muppets played into their growing up. Along the way, they have discussions on Fraggle Rock, Muppet Babies, and all 8 of the Muppet theatrical films, with a ranking of their top 6. If you are a fan of the Muppets, you will want to hear this one - especially with some familiar music played here and there, you may sing along too.

Then we rejoin to count down our individual lists where one person delivers their bottom 3 movies, then the other delivers their bottom 3. Then the original person delivers his next two, then the other person their next two. When we reach the top 5s on our list, we bounce back and forth and trade one a-piece. If at any time we are counting down our lists, one person has a movie in a higher position that person will say " PUNT" and we will then talk about that movie when we get to the higher position.Once both of our TOP 10 lists have been counted, we create the "Movie Mount Rushmore": these are the 4 quintessential, diverse, must see-see movies of the topic each week.We then put our 4 picks out on Twitter, and YOU all decide who the winner is! Yes, I stand by that statement. If this special had run every year like Rudolph or Frosty, I believe it would be considered a holiday classic that everyone watches each year. The problem is, it only aired two times, then was relegated to home video never to be seen again. But this is a shame. In this episode, I want to share 6 reasons why this is the perfect Christmas special. It's also unique as it's the only time the Muppets, Sesame Street, The Muppet Babies, and Fraggle Rock all appear in the same show. And it's the last appearance Jim Henson would make with the Muppets. Show Notes: A Muppet Family Christmas Support the Show: Patreon.com/80s

We don't know what the word Pog means, on the other hand, we DO know a lot about Jim Henson and Mr. Roberts Rogers. Also, we just wanna see The Muppets make more adaptations of popular works, and we'd REALLY love to see a revival of good children's entertainment. Make sure to check out this week's sponsor Audible for a copy of The Great Gatsby (read by America's dude sweetheart), now in the public domain.
This week we dive into the long history of The Muppets. In October, we raised over $4,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and one of the rewards for hitting a fundraising amount was for the audience to pick the episode - and you all chose The Muppets! In this episode, we explain their long history from late night show guests, sketch comedy shows, movies, and how they somehow managed to become a show that made a pilot geared towards adults into a children's staple. But most importantly we talk about the impact that Jim Henson has with the creation of the Muppets, where they interact with Sesame Street and more. Plus, stay tuned for the end of the episode where Lindsay and Halle share their modern obsessions.

Jim Henson has made a lot of beloved content, but was 1981's "The Great Muppet Caper" his very best? Lee is joined by Ronnie Le Drew, the puppeteer and one of the voices of Zippy, from the iconic British children's TV show, Rainbow and best selling author, Duncan Barrett to discuss their new book, Zippy and Me. Over the course of almost half a century, puppeteer Ronnie Le Drew has worked with the greats - from David Bowie in Labyrinth to Michael Caine in A Muppet Christmas Carol. But the role that defined his career was Rainbow's Zippy, who he operated for more than twenty years. Zippy and Me is the first time a Rainbow insider has told the true story of what went on under the counter and inside the suits: the petty squabbles between performers, wrangling with TV executives, and scandals such as the 'love triangle' between musicians Rod, Jane and Freddy. Not to mention the now infamous X-rated episode shot for an ITV Christmas party, which subsequently found its way to the Sun. Interweaved with the dirt on what really went on behind the scenes is the story of Rainbow's heyday in the 1970s and 80s, when its stars found themselves catapulted into an exciting showbiz world - scooping a BAFTA award and even performing for the queen - and the story of a young lad from a south London council estate who defied his parents' protests to became one of the most respected puppeteers of all time. You can find the book on Amazon.co.uk and Unbound.

Mark, Rick and Brian share some final thoughts on Honey, I Blew Up the Kid while some delicious brownies slowly cool in the background. The lads touch upon the spin-off 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' TV series, Brian quizzes his co-hosts in a guessing game of real vs. fake episodes of the show and they all sample some draft beer-flavored jelly beans. The fellas also brainstorm a new idea for the Food Network, pit some fictional smarties against one another in a round of "King of the Thing...Science Edition!" and keep circling back to projects involving the late, great Harry Anderson as a mini tribute to him. Whether you're more of a Bunsen or a Beaker, you can tweet these "Mad Science Muppets" @5DollarBinPOD to make your own pop culture professor picks and join in on the scientific silliness!
We got a letter from the government. The Special Bureau of Specials, to be exact. And they said that the only way we could keep doing Christmas specials every year was to watch some other Christmas specials and discuss them. So that's what we did! Luckily, RJ Edwards and Ian Holliday, the hosts of the HARK! podcast, dropped by to help us out. Merry Christmas!
Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are officially on that Holiday creep, darlings... To celebrate this fun and festive time of year, we will be focusing on holiday themed movies for the whole month of December! First up...The Muppet Christmas Carol! Starring Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, the most famous Christmas sourpuss of them all, and all of your favorite Muppet friends as various characters in the Dickens' classic: Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy as his feisty missus, Fozzie Bear as Fozziewig, Statler & Waldorf as the Marley brothers, and Gonzo the Great as our narrator, Mr. Charles Dickens himself! Disclaimer: Chrysten is pretty stoked on Christmas, and as such, watches this movie and many others every year. But Dan has not seen this since he was just a lil one, so this should be a fun one! Will Dan love this movie as much as he did when he was just a little Danny? Will Chrysten love this as much this year as she does every year? (Probably) Join us and find out! And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!
