JD Vance Really Sucks. War Powers Act on Iran Finally Advances. Senator Redneck Will Be Governor Redneck. Zelensky Promises More Strikes in Russia—GOOD. Knicks Miracle Comeback.  Congressman Tom Massie lost in Kentucky last night — sort of. Trump and the MAGA machine spent tens of millions to take out the GOP Congressman who crossed him, and in the process made Massie a household name with a ready-made presidential-grade platform: no war in Iran, no tariffs, no Trump, and no stopping the release of the Epstein files. Paul Rieckhoff opens Episode 528 with a no-BS solo briefing on what last night's primaries really mean, why JD Vance is lying about Ukraine, why January 6 rioters may now go from prisons to pardons to payouts, why James Murdoch buying Vox Media's podcast network should put every independent voice on alert, and why the NY Knicks comeback and leadership is bigger than basketball.  Then Paul sits down with Dr. Karen Matthews (https://www.matthewsforcongress.com/) — Navy veteran, radiologist, small business owner, and independent candidate in California's 23rd district. CA-23 isn't Gavin Newsom's California. It's Reagan's California: working class, libertarian-leaning, a third independent, with one of the best VAs in the country and a slice of Fort Irwin inside its lines. Matthews lays out why the incumbent doesn't show up, why the Democrats have given up, and why California's open primary on June 2nd may be the single biggest day for the independent movement in years. This is what the angry middle sounds like when it stops complaining and starts running. President Trump scored a major victory in last night's Republican primaries, defeating opponents like John Cornyn, Bill Cassidy, and Thomas Massie, none of whom received his endorsement and have recently distanced themselves from him. The candidates Trump backed came out on top, highlighting his continued influence on the GOP. On foreign policy, President Trump commented on rising tensions with Iran. He indicated the U.S. is giving Iran a little more time to de-escalate, but warned that another round of military conflict is becoming increasingly likely. In response, Iranian officials threatened to target Gulf countries and oil facilities if the U.S. launches attacks against Iran, raising concerns about broader regional instability. Meanwhile, Democrats have been effective in recent congressional hearings, particularly in scrutinizing President Trump's proposed $1.8 billion fund, which critics argue could benefit his allies and friends. Mark interviews Boston radio host Howie Carr. Howie and Mark break down the Georgia primaries, which saw competitive races and shifting alliances. Senator Bill Cassidy, despite his loss, publicly supports a new Senate resolution to end U.S. involvement in the conflict in Iran.      Oregon voters resoundingly rejected a statewide ballot measure that would have raised the state gas tax from 40 to 46 cents and  doubled car title and registration fees to help fund road maintenance and other transportation projects. Measure 120 was widely expected to fail, especially as gas prices continue to soar in Oregon and across the nation.   Last year, Gov. Tina Kotek and Democrats in the Legislature approved a bill that included the gas tax and fee hikes, but Republican lawmakers succeeded in raising enough signatures to put the issue before voters. Democrats, however, countered by ensuring the measure appeared on the May ballot instead of in November, when Gov. Kotek is up for reelection.    Gov. Kotek will now face Republican state Sen. Christine Drazan in a rematch of the 2022 gubernatorial race. On Tuesday, Republican voters selected Drazan to be their gubernatorial nominee over former Portland Trail Blazer Chris Dudley, state Rep. Ed Diehl and other candidates.    OPB political reporter Lauren Dake joins us for more details about Drazan’s victory and the failed gas tax measure.

South Carolina attorney general candidate David Pascoe faces brutal questions after resurfaced video shows him passionately endorsing Joe Biden in 2020. In a fiery multi-segment interview, Pascoe defends his Democrat past, claims both parties tried to stop his corruption investigations, and vows to clean up Columbia if elected. Tara presses him on trust, conservatism, judicial reform, and whether Republican voters should believe his political transformation. EPISODE SUMMARY Today's AmperWave Daily dives into one of the most explosive political interviews in South Carolina this election cycle. Attorney general candidate David Pascoe joins Tara for a no-holds-barred conversation after old clips surfaced showing him campaigning for Joe Biden and Democrat leaders despite now running in the Republican primary. Pascoe argues his past political alliances were strategic moves to preserve corruption investigations targeting powerful lawmakers and insiders in Columbia. He insists he has always been a conservative at heart, citing his support for Ronald Reagan, pro-life positions, death penalty advocacy, judicial reform efforts, and battles against public corruption. Tara challenges Pascoe repeatedly on whether Republican voters can trust him after years of Democrat involvement, including campaigning for Todd Rutherford and Joe Biden. Pascoe responds by pointing to his record prosecuting both Republicans and Democrats and vows to aggressively target corruption, enforce transparency laws, and ban lawyer-legislators from benefiting off government contracts if elected attorney general. The episode also touches on judicial reform, conservative grassroots movements in South Carolina, MAGA politics, trial lawyer influence, and growing distrust of political establishments in both parties. Tara breaks down the political chaos erupting over redistricting battles as Democrats explode in anger after losing long-protected congressional advantages. The show dives into accusations of hypocrisy, debates over the Voting Rights Act, claims of activist court interference, and the growing fight over political power in southern states. PODCAST SUMMARY Today's show focuses on the explosive fallout from ongoing redistricting battles and what Tara describes as a full-scale Democrat “temper tantrum” inside state legislatures. Tara recounts hearing from lawmakers who spent hours trapped in legislative sessions listening to heated protests, accusations of racism, and procedural standoffs as debates over congressional district maps intensified. The conversation centers on whether congressional districts should be drawn strictly by population or whether race-based considerations should continue playing a role in map drawing. The episode examines the history of Voting Rights Act litigation, activist court rulings from the 1980s, and claims that Republicans in southern states were forced for decades to draw districts designed to elect Democrats. Tara argues that Democrats are furious because those legal protections are now being challenged or reversed. Tara and Lee also discuss accusations of hypocrisy involving heavily Democrat-controlled northern states that have few or no Republican congressional districts despite substantial Republican vote totals. The conversation touches on voter ID debates, black voter support trends, and comments from political figures including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pete Buttigieg. The episode frames the current redistricting fight as part of a broader national battle over representation, election law, race, and political power. The hour kicks off by mocking Democrats for crying "cheating" over constitutional congressional redistricting, framing their tears as a hypocritical stunt to mask their own history of gerrymandering. Shifting to an alarming national security crisis, the second segment breaks down explosive intelligence leaks revealing that China provided the satellite targeting data used by Iran to launch precision missile strikes against American military bases in the Middle East. Building on this international threat, Tara presents damning new evidence showing how Beijing actively funnels money into the United States to fund Democratic agendas and weaken nationalist policies from within. Finally, the show closes with a defiant message on the legal weaponization of the justice system, asserting that the fight is far from over and demanding that the Department of Justice immediately dismiss all remaining cases against Donald Trump to restore true constitutional order.

Following an intense physical standoff between the Secret Service and Chinese security officials, the segment unpacks the geopolitical trap laid by the Chinese Communist Party to compromise American leadership. Connecting this hostility to domestic politics, Tara asserts that China is actively working in tandem with the Democratic Party, painting a picture of an ideological alliance designed to weaken nationalist policies. By treating the American left and Beijing as aligned adversaries, the show concludes that the tight security restrictions and paranoia detailed in the prior segment were not overreactions, but necessary survival tactics against an adversarial regime that treats the Trump administration as a political target.

The hour kicks off with an intense analysis of President Donald Trump's return from China, exposing a terrified and paranoid White House team that operated under extreme, wartime-level security protocols to counter Beijing's espionage threats. Building on this tension, the second segment reveals how close Trump's inner circle came to being arrested on Chinese soil following a fierce standoff with local security, while the hosts advance the theory that China and the Democratic Party operate as ideological allies aimed at weakening nationalist policies. Shifting gears to social commentary, the third segment explores a provocative new study asking listeners if they married someone smarter than themselves, examining how intelligence disparities impact modern marriages. Finally, the hour closes by breaking down dating standards, highlighting a statistic showing that 45% of women insist they need a mate who matches their own intellectual level to maintain a successful partnership.

In Hour 4, Segment 1 of the May 18, 2026, broadcast of The Tara Show, host Tara Servatius double-downs on the explosive battle over congressional maps, mocking Democrats for accusing Republicans of "cheating" to win elections. The segment centers on the national left-wing outrage following a series of GOP-led redistricting victories, which Democrats claim rely on illegal gerrymandering to unfairly secure conservative majorities. Tara aggressively dismantles these accusations, framing the Democrats' public outcry and tears as a hypocritical charade designed to mask their own history of rigging maps to protect legacy strongholds. The show argues that the new boundaries are entirely constitutional corrections aimed at restoring fair, competitive balance. Ultimately, the segment positions the "cheating" narrative as a desperate, face-saving excuse by a panicked Democratic party that knows it can no longer rely on unconstitutional racial engineering to hold onto power in key Southern districts.

The segment centers on the highly controversial Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, who has drawn national scrutiny for a past Reddit history where he self-identified as a "communist" and a "self-described Antifa super soldier." Tara highlights the profound double standard of a political party that constantly labels its conservative opponents as fascists while simultaneously embracing a candidate who previously sported an SS-Totenkopf Nazi tattoo on his chest. The show argues that the American Left's condemnation of Nazi imagery completely hollows out when party leadership continues to back Platner simply to gain a Senate seat, demonstrating that the Democrats' anti-fascist rhetoric is nothing more than a selective tool for political warfare.

The Tara Show exposes what it describes as a desperate Democratic propaganda campaign following a landmark Supreme Court redistricting ruling. In Hour 2, Segment 1 of the May 18, 2026, broadcast, host Tara Servatius breaks down the national battle over redrawing congressional maps, focusing heavily on Republican efforts to eliminate the "Democratic stronghold" in Rep. Jim Clyburn's South Carolina district. The segment forcefully counters narratives from prominent Democrats—such as Gavin Newsom and Jim Clyburn—who have publicly condemned the new GOP-led state maps as "Jim Crow 2.0," a phrase the show frames as a complete lie designed to manipulate voters and stall constitutional updates. Tara argues that this racially charged language is merely an alarmist tactic from a panicked left trying to protect race-based gerrymandering and maintain their dwindling hold on Southern congressional seats. Ultimately, the host positions the redistricting push not as voter suppression, but as a necessary correction to establish a clean sweep of U.S. House seats for conservatives.
