When I was first starting out, the thought of selling VIP days was very scary to me. Now I laugh about it because it's not that hard. But it's not something that comes easy to people. Nikki Rausch is the CEO of Sales Maven, an organization dedicated to authentic selling. She joins me to talk about her story, how she works with entrepreneurs to help them get better at sales conversations, and how to offer, deliver and price a premium VIP Day. Nikki explains that selling is not something you do to somebody but with somebody. You are not trying to convince them that what you have is the right solution for them. Rather, you're having a conversation to find out whether what you offer is right for their particular problem and needs. For the last half of the episode, we talked about how to create and structure a VIP day to best suit your ideal client. Nikki shared how she structures her VIP Days, what you should keep in mind and how to approach pricing and how to close your discovery call with prospective clients. This was a great conversation and Nikki's approach is very much aligned with how we do things on Team Sigrun. In this Episode of The Sigrun Show: How Nikki came to start Sales Maven and working with entrepreneurs (3:12) How she sees sales (7:05) Why sales calls are important to your prospective clients ( 11:54) How not to end your sales conversations and how to end them instead (12:48) What to say and do when someone says “I need to time to think about it” (13:40) How to structure a VIP Day and what to consider including as content (14:53) How Nikki does her own VIP Days and leaves the structure flexible (17:54) What she does to make VIP days a premium experience (20:53) How to close off the VIP day and how to keep your VIPs working with you (22:46) Laying out your offer in your VIP Day discovery call (28:00) How to price your VIP Day (31:16) Sigrun's first VIP Days (34:34) Connect with Nikki Rausch Free ebook: Closing the Sale

Like many Black women in America, today's guest went through a period when she believed that she had to look a certain way in order to be perceived as beautiful, mainly related to her curly, natural hair. After deciding to wear her hair naturally in college and encountering pushback from her own family, Nikki Walton realized the importance of creating a community for Black women who also felt the desire to embrace their natural hair. She started her industry-disrupting and now wildly popular blog, Curly Nikki, to document her natural hair journey, which went on to become the number one natural haircare and beauty blog in the world, reaching millions of women in over 30 countries and influencing the marketing and formulation of products for major beauty brands. From the outside, with all the television appearances, book deals, and sponsorships that come with being unafraid to take a leap of faith and put yourself out there, Nikki was the picture of success and empowerment. On the inside, however, she was struggling with burnout and disillusionment, working 24/7 on building her brand while also juggling being a wife and mother. It all came to a head when she realized that she didn't have a strong enough spiritual foundation to sustain it all. This led her on a spiritual quest, which ultimately culminated in a podcast collaboration with the Be Here Now Network. Go(o)d Mornings with CurlyNikki is currently one of the top 10 spiritual podcasts in the world. In today's episode, Nikki shares how her relationship with her hair impacted her confidence and her perception of beauty, why she had to learn to acknowledge fear rather than trying to eliminate it, and the key to her success, which was infusing everything she did with her personal story. We touch on the power of finding inner peace, stillness, and light and the value of sharing how you get through your darkest moments in order to help others find their way through theirs. We talk about some stuff here. Some good interesting stuff! What stuff you say? Well... How Twitter and social media sorta sucks, as usual. How Nikki had a dream about Aliens asking her if the experiment that is the human race should continue. How apparently that isn't that uncommon, maybe Adam Apollo had that same scenario brought up to him at Burning Man, or maybe it was someone else. When you die if you want to be reincarnated go to the light, if you don't, go to the darkness, but maybe don't listen to anyone but your inner self. We also talk about the dimension because we can, but with no authority but who does have that huh? Systematic racism and what do we in the whatever community you call this do about that, conclusion have conversations with your family and friends. Crop circles and two that we reviewed and love them! The want of a EMF reader. What are all of these people basing all this weird like president as a savior or like anyone as a savior? Why do we keep looking for someone to save us? The New World Order and like what's the thing with all of that and the event of like corona stuff. Soul groups and joining as a collective. Everyones experience is valid, whether new soul or old soul! Infinity loop. Eh, and we are all connected in a circle in a hoop that never ends. Physicality verses dreamtime. Which do you prefer? We are in a hard school of life here, all in school and all students. Its a hard knock life for us! We go into some stuff that we have been thinking and maybe you'll find it interesting. How do you gain clarity? In this episode, Nikki Barua and Monica Marquez explain how they found their passions and identified their unique skills. Change is constant; the only species that survive are the ones that adapt to the change. The challenge in innovation is about anticipating change and adapting quickly. Nikki built her reputation as an innovation expert and has guided people and organizations in adapting to change quickly. That’s why she is known as the Darwin of the Digital Age. Early in her career, Nikki would attempt to fit into a box and define herself narrowly. However, she learned that your unique skill is something that comes effortlessly. Nikki discovered that her unique skill is her ability to see the big picture, connect-the-dots, and recognize patterns. Nikki says that to grow your impact, you must find the most significant platform where you can reach the most people, solve their problems and deliver massive value. Monica always had a knack for finding creative solutions to problems. She didn’t see the lack of resources or tools as a limitation. Instead she had a gift in being resourceful and creative to solve the most challenging problems. She discovered that her unique skill was creativity and resourcefulness and it was something people valued greatly. Monica wants to help other underdogs figure out the way and find opportunities. She takes her creativity and resourcefulness to pave the way for other underdogs. That’s why she is known as the McGyver of the Marginalized. In this episode, I interview Nikki Love, an extraordinary person who lives by three words -- love, fun, and adventure. Listen in as she talks about her adventures and what drives her to take the challenge of breaking the world record running across Australia. Visit https://www.bodyshotperformance.com/topic/podcasts/ for the complete show notes of every podcast episode. Topics Discussed in this Episode: Nikki’s adventures and the life of running Moving to England and building a new life Gearing up for different marathon events The books and the people that became Nikki’s influences What drives Nikki to keep challenging herself Battling insecurities and nagging fears What Nikki does to train mentally How Nikki juggles between being a mother, running a business, and going on adventures Key Takeaways: To make things happen, you have to start working on things to create the life that you want. You don’t always have to listen to other people when they try to talk you out of a challenge. Sometimes you only have to listen to yourself and find your own dreams. If what you can do helps other people, there’s more purpose to it. Working on your mental toughness is essential when preparing for marathons. Action Steps: Give yourself a goal or a target, and then do it. Know your purpose and your bigger WHY. Keep a journal of what you’re going to do, but write them in the past tense. In this way, when you read it, you’re reinforcing to your subconscious that you’ve already done it. Nikki said: “Life throws things at you, and when things are thrown at you, you start thinking, ‘Maybe I can’t do this. Maybe I’m pushing just one step too far.’ But then I have to think again about why it is that I’d want to give it a go in the first place.” “You have to work out what it is that you genuinely want. And if that means that you journal that lifestyle that you want, then eventually you will start making the decisions and the choices to implement the results that you want.” Thanks for listening! Nikki Chin, the founder of Spark Spring, an online marketing company, tells us how to successfully navigate the business world as a solopreneur. Ever been scared to take a leap of faith and start a business by yourself? Nikki gives great advice on how to be a successful solopreneur! Solopreneur Success: Nikki moved to Louisville to reduce her cost of living, and to pursue her original dream of being a sign-language interpreter. She originally learned to sell as an insurance agent before starting Task Guardian, a digital marketing company. Nikki's pet peeve is people who try to do everything themselves and don't ask for help in business. We learn the reasons a company should choose Wordpress over another web builder such as Wix or Squarespace (Wordpress will grow as your company grows). How Nikki has built successful businesses while attending "The School of Hard Knocks" and why she believes anybody can be successful without going the traditional college route. Nikki's key to doing great is to make everything a game/competition (gamification). To self-teach herself, Nikki used Moz.com to learn how to be a successful marketer/web designer. She recommends others use online learning platforms and find a mentor if they skip the college route. If she could go back and do it again, Nikki would skip college and go straight into the workplace, but does regret missing out on some of the relationships colleges provide. The problem with most entrepreneurial failures is that people give up and are not persistent. To learn more about not giving up, check out our episode with Jon Matar. "It's the journey not the destination. Once you get to the destination you're bored." "Fail fast and optimize what is good." As we learned from our conversation with Matt Kenney, when you're young you can afford to fail because you have the rest of your life to make it up. John's mindset when starting his business was the worst thing that could happen is he goes right back to where he was with his previous employer. Remember to focus on what you love and what you're passionate about because you don't want to be miserable and filled with regret the rest of your life. Nikki prefers Facebook and Instagram for both personal and business but has not jumped on the Snapchat train yet. One thing everyone can learn from Facebook is their constant drive to keep improving. One of her keys to getting new clients is to ask for testimonials from her friends and existing clients. Last call questions and answers: Best career advice: Never give up Advice to entrepreneur: Have the guts and skill set to be successful. What advice would your 60-year-old self give you today? Charge more at Task Guardian and be more selective with her clients. Best thing spent money on the past 6 months: Rocky Patel Edge cigar. Get from J Paul at Oxmoor Smoke Shoppe Financial vice: Going out to eat. What media do you recommend: Essentialism by Greg McKeown Favorite drink: Yuengling! If you want to know how to write a book, this is the episode for you. Many in the Happy Black Woman community have been interested in writing a book for some time but simply haven’t known how to get started. That excuse is gone with this episode. Today Nikki Woods, a black woman who specializes in helping authors get their book written, published, and out into the world with a BANG is on the episode with Rosetta. She going to share the basics approach she uses to help many authors write best-sellers and make that book an integral part of their brand and expertise. You’re going to gain a lot of insight about writing and publishing a book on this episode. How to write a book: Nikki unpacks her process. There’s a lot more that goes into writing a book than you might realize. It’s not only about sitting in a chair and pounding away on a keyboard. You’ve got to know how to organize your thoughts, how to plan the book out in a logical way, how to build a following BEFORE you write the book, and how to publish and promote it once it’s written. Nikki Woods is here to help. Her generous sharing on this episode will help you get oriented in the right direction to get that book out of you and into the world! After you’ve written a book, what do you do with it then? It’s a monumental task to write a book that’s worth reading. Even if you haven’t gotten over that hurdle yet, you will if you keep working at it. But once it’s written - then what? You can’t expect to announce it on your Facebook feed and sell thousands of copies. It simply doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to know how to promote a book the right way - the way that gets people’s eyes on it and their wallets out to purchase it. Nikki Wood has that part of the process wired and will be sharing aspects of it with you on this episode, so be sure you listen to what she’s got to share. Why writing a book is a great opportunity for you as an entrepreneur. When you put your knowledge and experience between the covers of a book something amazing happens. People almost instantly view you as an expert, a person who knows the details and specifics of how to do what it is you do. That’s when people start contacting you to find out how you can help them with their dreams. It’s when you begin coaching, building courses, speaking at events. The book is the key that opens many doors of opportunity. Today Nikki Woods is going to share how that happens and why you need to get started writing your book right away. Build your platform and tribe before you write the book. Many entrepreneurs who become authors make a fatal mistake at the beginning of their publishing journey. They forget to build an audience before the book is even written. It may sound counterintuitive but think about it: When you’re able to begin the conversation about the topic of your book far in advance of writing the book, people begin to see you as the person who knows about and is interested in that topic. They begin to see you as the go-to person for all things related to the topic. When you begin to talk about writing a book on the subject you’ll get all kinds of enthusiasm, feedback, and insight into what your book should be about and the momentum will start to build. Find out how Nikki Woods her students to build their tribe first, on this episode. Outline of this great episode [0:30] Rosetta’s introduction to this episode and her guest, Nikki Woods.
