Taking your bed means removing the very thing you've been lying in—your comfort zone, your place of stagnation, your fallback plan. Walking means moving away from the patterns, environments, and support structures that kept you from living in the fullness God intended. Only a person who is willfully blind could deny that miracles happen today. They didn't end at the shore of the Red Sea. Malachi 3:6 says, “I the Lord do not change.” From this, we can logically see that the Bible's powerful and majestic miracles didn't stop in the first century. They're still happening. God didn't suspend the love He dispenses in the form of miracles. Taylor McCaffrey was an alcoholic as a teenager. He was also a preacher's kid, and these combined to weigh him down with guilt. From the age of 16, he drank heavily, but God didn't leave him there. He says, “On my 21st birthday, I'd been drinking about eight hours straight and simply heard the voice of the Holy Spirit inside me say, ‘Either do what I've called you to or I will not continue wrestling you.'”It sounded so stern. However, so loving, “I was instantly sober.” And that was several years ago. Today, Taylor is still sober. There are also countless examples of what we might call ‘corporate' miracles—those that bless whole communities. At Christmas time of 2004, a group of 400 believers wanted to hold a Christmas service. The local authorities, though, told them that they could not do that in the city of Meulaboh in North Sumatra. The 400 decided to hold their service in a remote mountain region, and they stayed overnight. Early next morning, an earthquake and resulting tsunami flattened their city, but they were safe in the higher elevations. Had they opted not to worship Jesus during their holiday, they would have perished.The fact is, our world is miracle-heavy. They happen all the time. Miracles happen to ordinary people and to whole nations every day. This is one of the clearest evidences of the power and the majesty of the living God. We can choose to be witnesses for Him by pointing out to everyone we come in contact with that though our world has problems, God is still working in a mighty way.Let's pray. Father God, thank you. The example of miracles. They give us strength in our faith and a boost to our days. We're forever grateful to you for routinely doing things that some say cannot happen. On this episode of The Karen Kenney Show, I dive into the idea that all relationships - whether personal or professional - are really just collaborations at heart. Inspired by a chat with my friend Emiline (aka: Emily Aborn – Copywriter and host of the Content with Character Podcast) and a nugget of wisdom from actor Ethan Hawke, I explore who we choose to “collaborate” with in life truly matters. It's not just about what looks good on paper -or- who's fun to be around for a quick minute.It's more about finding people who share your values, can communicate well, and genuinely want to see you thrive and shine!I share some of my own stories, too - both the good and the not-so-soothing – experiences of working with others. From college projects and yoga retreats to creative partnerships, the best collaborations always had trust, mutual respect, and a sense of fun at their core!On the flip side, I've also experienced those energy-draining partnerships where someone just isn't open or willing to trust the process or the other people…And let me tell you, that shit is a total grind you don't want to be stuck in. A big takeaway from this episode is the importance of knowing yourself before you jump into any kind of relationship or collaboration. Be honest about what you bring to the table, what you need, and what you're willing to give. And don't forget - sometimes the best collaboration you can have is with yourself, your creativity, or even your pets!

A political science major at a major university was having coffee with a campus pastor. The pastor knew that the student was wrestling with doubt about the existence of God and said to him, “John, you know all of us wonder at some point if it's all real or not. For example, there are quite a few stories in the Bible that are just hard to believe. Jonah and the whale and all that.” John smiled and said, “No, that's not my problem. What I wonder about is how God could care about me. I've done some really bad things and have had some really bad things done to me. I just can't understand the concept of forgiveness.”There you have it. Doubts about the faith come from all directions. While one person cannot bring herself to believe in miracles, another cannot forgive himself for the wrong things he's done, and can't fathom how God could. Thomas Jefferson actually cut out the miraculous sections of the Bible. He couldn't believe in what some would call the God of the Bible. Francis Crick, the co-discoverer of DNA, thought that Christianity was just a collection of mythical stories. And what about those who want to see the proof, they like evidence and feel a need to make an intellectual case for our faith. The New Testament writer Luke was like that. He wrote in Acts and the Gospel of Luke about the importance of eyewitness sightings of Jesus and His miracles. Lots of people debate whether evolution and religion are compatible or not. And this is a big stumbling block to believe for many. We all believe something, but our minds can struggle at times to grasp the big stuff, the infinite universe. While for others who doubt, the struggle is more internal. They're so grieved by their own sin, they can't accept that God could love them.Maybe the most famous verse in the Bible is John 3:16, which says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” However, few quote the next verse which says, “For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” It isn't God's wish to condemn you. Instead, He loves you and wants to give you assurance that life is more than struggle and molecules. Whether you're looking for evidence to believe the Bible or you just need to know that God loves you, try not to focus too much on your objections. When I woke up today… I quickly noticed…“It's waaay worse than I thought…” (And that's actually good news…)You've probably noticed…If you let it, the vine will grow wild…Neville was right…We've gotta prune it…Or it will choke your dreams to death...So we prune the vine…Morning, noon, and night… What you might not have noticed is…If you prune like most people try to…Pruning the mind becomes a full time job… And it can become hard work….And that's exhausting…It takes away from your day…It actually ends up distancing you from your dreams… Now… What most never find out is… Your “mind” and your IMAGINATION are two very different things…. READ THAT AGAIN! One is great at math…It memorizes all kinds of things… And it's really digs the step by step what to do and how to do things… And it loves saying NO…. That's your mind… Your mind is HOW you go shopping, pay a bill, turn on your phone, and talk yourself out of the fun times… Your mind is how most people let their dreams die… A tiny peek into my childhood…. They said, “A mind is a terrible thing to waste…” (That was a commercial from the 80s in the old country)Encouraging us kids to go to college… And it might be true…A mind is a terrible thing to waste.. But I also notice…My mind, can be a terrible thing…If I let it be in charge…. It goes nuts trying to figure out what it can't possibly need to know… And it tries to say NO to pretty much everything that it hasn't done before… The mind…It's a great servant…It's a shit master… And that's why for most…Things get worse, and sometimes they never get better… Because almost nobody notices…Because they've never been told… Imagination and Mind are two totally separate things… This is sooo cool… AWAKENED IMAGINATION That's where we find the playground of possibilities…That's where we give life to magic and miracles… Here's the quote that Victoria and I adore…. “The sixth disciple is called Bartholomew. But that we may not offend them, go to the sea, drop in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax. Give that to them for me and for you.” Matthew 17:25–27Prior to this minor miracle, Jesus had just told His disciples for the second time about His coming passion. Again, this was difficult for them to hear. Recall that after the first prediction of Jesus' coming passion and death, Jesus took Peter, James and John up the mountain and was Transfigured before them. The Transfiguration was meant, in part, to dispel the fear of the disciples and to give them hope for that which was to come. And now, after Jesus' second prediction of His passion, another miracle was performed for Peter, personally, to help encourage him and give him hope.Imagine if you were Peter. Imagine following through with Jesus' instructions by going to the sea, dropping in a hook, pulling out a fish and then opening its mouth. Peter must have been filled with hope and excitement as he pulled this fish in, wondering if Jesus' words would come true. And as soon as Peter saw the coin, just as Jesus said, he must have been in awe. Slowly, the fear and anxiety he was experiencing at this second prediction of Jesus' passion and death would have begun to subside as Peter witnessed yet another incredible sign from his Lord.God performs miracles in our lives every day. The problem is that we often fail to discern them. Any time His glorious power works within us to strengthen us or fills us with courage, hope, charity and every other virtue, this is a miracle of transforming grace. God always knows what we need in life. He knows our struggles and doubts. At times, He is silent so as to draw us deeper through intentional prayer and acts of faith. And at times, we suddenly find that we receive a new clarity in life that is the result of His grace at work.Jesus knew that Peter needed this extra grace of this personal miracle so that he could move beyond his fears and struggles and place all of his trust in Jesus. Jesus was trustworthy. This is the conclusion Peter would have arrived at. He was trustworthy. Therefore, everything He said should be believed. What a wonderful conclusion for us all to arrive at.Reflect, today, upon the ways that God has assured you of His divine presence and action in your life. Though the assuring miracles God has performed in your life may not be physical in their manifestation, God's workings can be just as convincing if we clearly perceive them. What does God want to assure you of in your life? What struggle or doubt do you struggle with? If you struggle, turn your mind to the ways that God has been present and active in your life. Ponder His intervention and the ways He has cared for you and led you. Be grateful and allow the memory of what God has done to be your strength today and the source of hope when you need it the most.My miraculous Lord, Your action in my life is truly glorious and amazing. You never fail to provide for me when I am in need. Help me to turn to You whenever I struggle so as to be filled with new hope in You. You are always faithful, dear Lord.
