Send Mo a text about this episode! When does fear drive your decision making? One of the things I've learned to do in my life is face my fears head on. I got tired of letting them rule my life. I had some ideas and fears that were stuck in my mind about ghosts, demons and spirits. All of these ideas/definitions and how I was "supposed" to feel about them were placed in my brain by tv shows, movies, the Catholic and Christian churches and people I had met along the way in my life. Facing this fear has brought me so much peace and its empowered me to take charge of my energy and realize what I'm capable of. In this episode I had the opportunity to ask Kai all of my burning questions! In this episode we talk about:-How Kai discovered her gifts.-Kai shares quite a few stories around how she has removed entities from people, places and things!-How YOU can do this yourself.-What you can do to clear your energy and develop your intuitive abilities.-How to find a mentor and discern who is the right mentor for you.The 411 on Kai:Kai is a Kahuna, which is the Hawaiian version of a shaman. She is an author, mentor, speaker, teacher, and energy healer. She has developed the ability to see, hear, feel, taste, and smell to receive information from the spirit realm. She has opened doorways for the dead to pass through and opened windows for the living to see the potential for their future. She has used energy to help those who wished to heal and for those who wanted to return to Source. Her strongest ability is seeing angels, ghosts, demons, and things she doesn't have names for. With that ability, she can also see energy that is discordant with someone's energy signature and transmute it or remove it and replace it with energy that is for that person's highest good. Kai's greatest strength is removing negative energy and entities from people, places, and things, allowing others to feel better, sleep better, and feel more secure in themselves and their homes. She is a science-oriented geek by nature and loves to experiment with energy. With the help of her friends, guides, and ancestors, she is constantly reshaping her understanding of the world and expanding her cosmology. One of the things she enjoys most about experiencing new ways of using energy is that she gets to share what she knows and looks forward to how others will use that knowledge and hopefully return to share something new with her, beginning the cycle again.Website: handsonfire.buzzEmail: wakai66@hotmail.comKai's books that are mentioned:Shadow Work for Metaphysical and Spiritual Transformation by Kai BertrandWhen Things Go Bump in the Night: How to check if your house is haunted by Kai BertrandGo follow Kai on Instagram:IG: @healerkaibDo you have follow up questions? If you've ever said "I know my little one isn't a great sleeper, but it could be SO much worse", this episode is for you!In this episode of the My Sleeping Baby podcast, I go on a bit of a soapbox rant about:Why you don't need to compromise (and SHOULDN'T compromise) on good quality sleep for both you AND your little one.Why moms who need less sleep than average (and legitimately aren't bothered by the nightwakings) can still benefit HUGELY from getting their little one sleeping through the nightHow and why your little one's "decent" sleep can suddenly become crappy, horrible sleep- and what you can do to avoid this sleep disaster!Have a listen! Want to get your little one consistently sleeping 11-12 hours at night so you can be a functioning human? Join my FREE training HERE: https://mysleepingbaby.ac-page.com/registration-page-v-2
The short answer here is a resounding "nope!", but in this episode of the My Sleeping Baby podcast, I'm going to delve into this question in more detail.More specifically, I'll be talking about:How you can continue to breastfeed your little one for as long as you both want, while getting full nights of sleepWhy teaching your breastfed baby to take a bottle is NOT a requirement for sleeping through the nightHow to teach your little one to sleep without relying on milkWhy introducing formula is not a magical solution to your sleep woesHow to get your baby to sleep through the night without feeds, even if he's waking up and REALLY eating (and no- it won't involve starving him!)Have a listen! Recovery – a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strengthWhen it comes to sleep, most guys know they don't get enough. They go to bed too late, wake up too early and spend too much time sitting in a cubicle at work. They're always tired and unable to perform at their best. What these men may not recognize is the direct impact rest and recovery have on their overall well-being.Being able to adequately rest will allow you to recover sufficiently, which will help you be able to perform at your peak. If you are not well rested, the effects can be substantial, both mentally and physically. There is a lot more that goes into rest and recovery than simply getting a good night's rest. What you do throughout the day, your diet, your work routine, how you train, and your nighttime routine are a few crucial things that play a significant role in your ability to rest and recover. With the many factors out there, it can seem a little daunting when it comes down to knowing where to begin. In this episode of Untaming Masculinity, Dan and Brad sit down with Scott Shortmeyer, the host of The Rest and Recovery Podcast. In this wide-ranging discussion, Scott discusses what led him down the path of optimizing recovery and the many lessons he's learned along the way. He provides some guidance to men who want to start to understand how to more fully optimize their recovery, through tactical tips and strategies. Some of the many topics discussed include:The importance of not always going all out on days where you just don't have it, and why that is so critical in your ability to recover adequatelyThe role late-night snacking plays in impacting recoveryWhy you always find yourself getting up in the middle of the nightHow eliminating light in your bedroom can help you sleep betterThe importance of a nighttime routineHow you can leverage technology to help support recoveryThis episode is a great introduction to a fascinating topic and was one of our favorite conversations yet. About Meredith Louden: Formerly an insomniac, Meredith Louden created the Sleep Success Method, which helps high-achieving people fall asleep in just 5-10 minutes with no sleeping pills, supplements, or trendy sleep aids. In this episode, Adam and Meredith discuss:How stress is linked to sleep problemsThe basic sleep adviceThe importance of putting your phone away at nightHow to sleep more than you normally do Key Takeaways:Stress is highly linked to sleeping problems, and there is so much more stress in the world as a result of the pandemic. More stress basically means less sleep, so you should focus on stress management techniques rather than taking pills or drinks just for the sake of falling asleep.Getting a good night's sleep involves calming your nervous system two hours before bed, putting your phone away from you, avoiding anything that will trigger any sort of negative emotional reaction, and stopping working at least two hours before bed. Focus on yourself and your inner world.Simple notifications from your phone can reactivate your stress response and ruin your bedtime. Don't let your phone distract you at night by putting it on Do Not Disturb or hiding it.Reduce the grip that your sleep rules have on you, avoid distractions like watching TV shows and smartphones before bedtime, and take a nap when you can. A pattern we often hear from the men we work with is that it's really hard for them to approach their partner for sex. This could be a dating partner or someone they're in a long-term committed relationship with. Heck, it could be their wife. If you've ever Googled, "How do I get my wife to have more sex with me?" you're not alone. The fear of approaching a partner for sex is real, and it can actually impact the whole relationship. For example, Jason noticed that after a year of being with a partner, it actually got harder for him to approach her for sex, not easier. Why is this? What's going on?Here, Jason delves into his own personal experience with trouble initiating sex with partners in the past, and how he resolved it. We also talk about:How to keep up your confidence if you've been turned down/felt rejected a few times. It's possible, and we also want to validate your experience of it sucking! The magic sauce you can pour on during the day that'll help a woman want to be sexual with you later that nightHow, when you learn how to initiate sex in a more masterful way, it can actually improve your whole relationship, not just the sexAs always, if you've got questions or comments you can get me at dearmenpodcast at gmail dot com!

Those hacks will come from my guest Matteo Franceschetti. Matteo defines high performance—having been a professional skier, high-level tennis player, competitive race car driver and practicing lawyer. He didn't get much sleep doing all those things, so he co-founded Eight Sleep and set out to create and advanced sleep improvement device so he, and everyone else, could sleep better and perform better. We can all agree: “Sleep is a pillar, a fundamental pillar for your health,” Matteo says.Eight Sleep tracks biomarkers that measure your sleep quality. Then it uses machine learning to make automatic adjustments to your sleep environment. This helps you optimize your sleep, get the reset and recovery your body needs, and well, wake up feeling better than you have in years. Best of all, you don't actually have to do anything. You just go to sleep, exactly like you did last night, and the technology does all the sleep hacking for you. TIME Magazine named Eight Sleep one of its “Best Inventions” of both 2018 and 2019, and Fast Company listed it as one of the most innovative companies of 2018. They're a sleep hacking company making big inroads into understanding and regulating your body's temperatures while sleeping. This affects your REM sleep the most.“While you are in REM your brain deactivates all the temperature controls in the body,” Matteo explains. “It doesn't let you fall into REM if it's too hot or too cold because you could potentially die. Changing the temperature based on your sleep stages and the different stages of the night is fundamental to maximize your deep and REM stages.”And Eight Sleep has a fix for that.“Based on your sleep stages and based on your biometrics, we adjust your body temperature during the night,” Matteo says. “It's not that we are inventing the wheel. Your body is already changing temperature during the night. It's part of your physiological process. We just enhanced that process to maximize your sleep performance.”And then I wanted to know, “How many hours of sleep per night do you think you can save people, by just changing temperature?” The point isn't necessarily to get less sleep, but it's to live more. Right? If you just got everything you needed and it was as good as what you have today, but you had enough time to do two hours of reading or learning every day or meditating or parenting or whatever else, it's not about working more necessarily. It's just about living more. It's exciting to talk to Matteo because he brings a whole bunch of new biohacking ideas to the table, er bed. He and I get into a bunch of sleep topics during this conversation, including:How you can instantly increase your deep sleep by 40%, starting tonightHow you can reset your energy levels in the morning just by regulating your sleep temperature at nightHow you can compress sleep down to 5-6 hours a night, while actually getting more rest and recoveryWhy sleep consistency matters (and is still the hardest thing for people to do, well, consistently}Why machine learning is the future of personalized healthIf your sleep could use an upgrade, check out this episode for hacks you can implement right away and learn about what's next in sleep technology.
