In this podcast episode, Lauren Taylor Burns walks us through several tips and words of wisdom on how to attract new clients and set yourself apart from other beauty artists in the industry. Check it out! A little about Lauren: My name is Lauren Taylor Burns and I was born and raised in Washington State. I work from my home studio and live with my wonderful husband and 2 beautiful little girls. I have an extremely artistic background, and pride myself on being extremely detail orientated. My number one goal is a happy client that leaves their treatment with me feeling understood, appreciated, and has new confidence in the way they look! Another extremely important goal of mine is long-term healed results. I frequently preach “ fresh work is an art, shield work is a skill”. I want to build a relationship of trust and understanding with EVERYONE that comes to see me. There’s nothing more honoring having a client sit in my chair that says “ do your thing, I trust you!” In addition to Phi training, I have another 6 certifications which include all brow styles, nano brows, removal, and perfection courses. I pride myself on continuing education, and will never stop learning and evolving. Along with my passion for art and permanent make up, I also help admin a Facebook group with 18,000 other permanent makeup artists from all around the world! The original admin picked ME from (then 15,000 artists) because I help young artists grow and thrive to become the best possible version of themselves. Teaching and educating has become a passion of mine. I also offer training, but refuse to offer “typical” Microblading training. All of my students are with me for a minimum of a month and my only goal is to set them up for success. In short, I love this Industry. I live, breathe, and sleep this Industry. I’m deeply grateful for all of my clients and future clients. Summary: It's the start of the year, so what better way to bring it in than with gems of wisdom from our guest Vicky Martin. With her life experiences (shaken and stirred), she has nothing but lessons learned for herself and others, for a better perspective. With her passion for continuing inner growth, she's dedicated to helping others. She inspires us to look within to see the light in every situation that we are in and pursue our ultimate purpose. Nineteen years ago that was when Vicky Martin became a tattooist. In 2000, she learned how to tattoo and began to specialize in the art of Micro-pigmentation. With over 19 years in the industry, Vicky has been able to develop her expertise. In 2010 she became a trainer for a London company, and in 2012 she started her training school with her sister. She's also passionate about giving breast cancer survivors the very best medical tattooing results to finish their long, challenging journey and leave them feeling whole again. Fueled by this passion and using her experience, blended with the global techniques she has learned, she created her own method for tattooing the areola. She now teaches her 3D Areola (VICKY MARTIN METHOD VMM®) all over the world. Her love of learning is not restricted to micro-pigmentation techniques… She has studied neuroscience. She's also a qualified Neuro-Linguistic Programming, NLP practitioner, hypnotist, and even done Stand Up Comedy! In this episode, Vicky shares snippets of wise thoughts gleaned from a life lived in introspection and a deep sense of finding beauty even amid darkest situations. Having been a recluse herself for a moment in time, she's come out of that shell long ago to attest that something beautiful happens in life if you train your mind to think differently. It is always a matter of perspective, creating a thought in your mind to help you believe in yourself a little bit more and see the world in a much better way. As a beauty entrepreneur herself, she has those times when she almost quit. But now, in hindsight, she can only look back and say that things only got better and easier as time went on. She points out why we shouldn't be scared to make "mistakes" as there is gold in it; it helps us grow. What is worth having takes time, and it is not an overnight success. Remember, the only way to get past the fear is to get started. Affirmations are big in Vicky's life. It sets the tone for the day. It's as simple as just having to say to yourself, 'I am enough' or whatever something positive you want to say. You should believe Vicky when she says that the moment she started to think differently, that's when she found the opportunity. She has unstoppable energy inside her. See for yourself what a different way of thinking can do for you! "I think if you can start living your future, in a thought that you want to happen rather than a record of the past, it can really help you see things differently or feel differently, and it creates new neural plasticity in the mind that just helps you believe in yourself a little bit more." - Vicky Martin Topics Covered: 01:10 - An intro to today's guest 03:19 - A go-getter, competitive, beautiful soul Vicky Martin 05:00 - Relating some highlights of her life 09:05 - Stepping into subconscious dominance 11:21 - Vicky's most straightforward trick to help yourself possess a positive outlook 14:37 - Think differently and notice beautiful things happening for you and others 17:39 - It's about changing filters in your mind 19:57 - Were there times in her career, she almost quit? 24:04 - Breakthroughs that made her the better person she is today 27:50 - Why you need to forgive and stop torturing yourself for something that can't be undone 32:48 - Standing up for what she believes in 36:31 - That innate courage inside of her 38:10 - How to turn a bad situation into a blessing 40:20 - It's all about perspectives 45:21 - A recap of Vicky's gems of wisdom 48:26 - Think and say good things all the time 49:58 - Empowering someone through conversations and questions Key Takeaways: "I've been studying the mind; I've been studying how to get over something that I went through years ago; I realized that we can all help people on the outside to look good. But what I really wanted to tap into is the inside because all of our inside is where all our beauty truly comes from." - Vicky Martin "I started to realize that your life is what you think it is. And if you start thinking differently, you start noticing different things, that there's a lot of beauty in the world, there's a lot of opportunity in the world. I cut myself off from everything because I just had this belief. So, I started to realize that there's a better way of thinking." - Vicky Martin "I actually think I enjoyed the attention; I got significance from being the person that moaned a lot. All of a sudden, I recognize that actually, I want it to be the person that could show the world that even in the darkest times if you look hard enough, find some little diamond, this has maybe given me the strength or this has given me then the power to help other people because I've walked that path." - Vicky Martin "I think it's about recognizing what you're thinking about and just setting goals, setting a plan, knowing where you want to go and knowing what you want your life to be like, because then your mind will start noticing opportunities." - Vicky Martin "There were definitely times I almost quit over the years but most definitely, the more you do it, the easier it gets." - Vicky Martin "I think one of the most important breakthroughs for me that have helped me become a better person is to know that I am enough. Because when you truly feel that you are enough, you don't really worry about someone having something better, their eyebrows being better, their training being better." - Vicky Martin "If somebody does something to you, I think it's about understanding why they're the way they are. And they're probably just like, they're hurting, or they're outing, it's making them feel better. And I think the best thing you can do is literally just send them love and just be like, 'I hope you're okay." - Vicky Martin "If you're bothered about something in life, and it's playing on your mind, you're like, why did I do that wrong? You have to ask yourself, can I change it? And if you can't change it, you literally have to stop torturing yourself. You've got to think there's a lesson in here because that's how we grow through our mistakes." - Vicky Martin "I think the biggest problem a lot of people make is they're frightened to make mistakes. But ultimately, that's the only way we grow, isn't it?" - Vicky Martin "If someone says it can't be done, then I'm like, I'm so gonna do it." - Vicky Martin "I think what's really good for your mind during COVID -- do anything, if you've got something that lights you up, that you're passionate about, and I'm lucky I've got a passion for it. Then it distracts everything else." - Vicky Martin Resources: All the information you need to become an incredible areola artist and have the confidence to change lives. Summary: One vital thing that you must know about Facebook ads is that they have changed since Apple changed their privacy settings. If you try to run your Facebook ads on Facebook and Instagram, you won't be able to track conversions for those that click on your ads while using Apple devices. Ultimately, it seems that Facebook ads are a bit less effective, which only means the cost will be going up, too. The same is happening with Instagram; Instagram feed is mostly dead now as it is all about stories (after they copied Snapchat) & IG Reels as they are competing with Tiktok. That is why it is an excellent opportunity to get on the Clubhouse now as it is early, and you have a chance to build your network with the app while it is in its infancy stage. You might be wondering what this clubhouse app could be about. Will this be another shiny object out there that is just a distraction? Can you add more to “your plate” right now? Do you see the value of global connections for your business? The earlier you get on this app, the more exposure you have and the more chance to build yourself and the opportunity to develop your authentic community. When it comes to this Clubhouse app, you also need to ask these questions: Is your business focused on building relationships? Or are you wanting to position yourself as an expert? This platform is a good platform for those things mentioned above, as many connections and collaborations are happening in real time. I firmly believe in connections as a core concept of what I teach in my Amplify Method, leveraged marketing, leveraging other authority referral partners' audiences to build your network. In this episode, we will discuss the Clubhouse app, take you behind the scenes, break it down for you, and give you all the information. "It's a great opportunity to get in on the Clubhouse app because it's new, and you can really build a following while the clubhouse app is still in its infancy." - April Meese Topics Covered: 00:57 - Thoughts about the new app called Clubhouse 02:22 - The phone you need to have to download the Clubhouse app: iPhone 02:40 - What you need to know about the Facebook ad changes 04:24 - Why is it an excellent opportunity to get on the Clubhouse app now 04:38 - What is a Clubhouse app 05:43 - Key things you need to know about Clubhouse: etiquette, do's and don'ts, terminology used 09:05 - April talks about how to download the app, walking and navigating through the Clubhouse app 10:54 - What is a 'Ping' 11:23 - What is a 'room' and what are the different types of rooms 12:34 - What are 'clubs' 15:31 - A calendar of upcoming rooms 16:15 - A walkthrough on how to join the room 20:37 - How the clubhouse app is accessible by the blind and deaf 21:49 - How to have a chance to follow a speaker on Instagram or Twitter 24:16 - What you need to do for you to connect with people in the room 25:50 - What happens when you start to follow people 29:53 - How to follow speakers in the room, how to get notifications when they're on stage 31:48 - Where to find your profile and how to edit your bio 33:02 - Why the first line of your bio should be the six words that you want somebody to know about you 33:42 - What it means to 'reset the room' 35:45 - The moderator's role 36:28 - What I love about the Clubhouse app Key Takeaways: "When I experienced it myself, I'm like, 'Alright, this is something I can get behind.' And you have to have an iPhone or an iPad to be able to download the app. So I have an Android phone, but I have my iPad." - April Meese "It's a great opportunity to get in on the clubhouse app because it's new, and you can really build a following while the clubhouse app is still in its infancy." - April Meese "What I love about it is, it's real candid conversations, it's not overly produced as we see in this world where things are glossy. It's a natural conversation; there's not going to be a replay. And so just as you see, Tiktok broke away from the curated type of reels, and they're going for more of the authentic -- that I feel like people are just craving more of the authentic." - April Meese "You could get into a room with top business owners and ask them questions, or might be, there's a lot of celebrities that are on the platform if that's important to you. But you're able to get proximity to people that you're unlikely to get proximity to before." - April Meese "It's physically, in my opinion, impossible to fake it. Like, it's you authentically on there. There's nobody faking their photos, there's no way to fake boost your numbers right now, or straight-up lying about what you've accomplished, maybe people can put lies in their bio, but when they get on the stage, people are going to know like, 'Are they real or not'?" - April Meese Connect with April Meese: aprilmeese.com support@aprilmeese.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook

In this episode, Ana talks about getting started on your SEO, whether you are a beginner or a more established professional. Other than getting reviews, she points out the need to first set up your business on Google My Business Page and how you should start the process of getting verified by Google. Learn why it is essential to have SEO-friendly websites. Ana suggests which platform you will want to know about to have a mobile-friendly website that Google prefers. Functional over fancy websites is what she advises as these are more effective and efficient, and Google likes it, therefore a plus point for your SEO. Backlinks are essential; thus, she highlights what you should know about the various types (white hat and black hat backlinks) for your website & business to be found by prospective clients. If you want to invest in content, blogs, and keywords, Ana introduces a service she uses called SEO CPR and Yext. She has a business that helps beauty professionals with SEO, and she gives tips on artists looking to hire for this service. She tells about the crucial questions you need to ask yourself about SEO and what you need to prepare to set it up. "The advice that I have to give to everybody is to let go of social media a little bit and focus on Google. Get those Google reviews. If you're shut down right now, now is the time for you to get those reviews and build up the SEO." - Ana Perrone Topics Covered: 01:19 - Ana's professional background 02:38 - Talking about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) 08:01 - How to get your business on Google 3-pack 09:17 - How to create Google My Business Page for your business 10:04 - Get your reviews after you verify your Google My Business Page; why is it important. 15:30 - Why you want to focus more on SEO and not so much on social media 18:36 - Why is it essential to have SEO-friendly websites 19:22 - What builds your SEO 20:20 - Suggested websites that are SEO-friendly: WordPress, Mobirise, AMP 21:21 - Why your website needs to be mobile-friendly 22:25 - What beauty professionals with a bigger budget should focus on other than Google my business page and reviews 23:02 - Backlinks: White hat SEO versus Black hat SEO 26:04 - How Google Analytics lets you check fake backlinks 27:04 - How you can buy or get for free legitimate backlinks 29:18 - How Apple is trying to take over Google when it comes to search 32:07 - Why you need to have a Yelp page 34:20 - Learn about SEO CPR and Yext 37:06 - What you want to know about keywords 39:42 - The critical questions you need to ask for setting up SEO 41:24 - What you need to be prepared for in terms of setting up your SEO 44:34 - Tips for artists who are looking to hire for SEO 47:00 - Advice for permanent makeup artists and beauty professionals Key Takeaways: "What I advise first that they can do, which is easy, it's free, is, before you even go there and create a Facebook page for your business which is also free, I recommend they go and create Google My Business Page for their business." - Ana Perrone "The second thing immediately after you verify your Google My Business is to get those reviews. And in the beginning, maybe you don't have that many clients or if you're doing the models just to build up your portfolio, get the models to review you. Get your teacher to review you, saying that you did well in class. It's very, very important to get the reviews." - Ana Perrone "Reviews are a huge part of SEO. And again, it's something like, 'Oh, yeah, reviews are good to look good because you have five stars. Oh, yeah, the client sees that. But in reality, those reviews are also building blocks to your SEO." - Ana Perrone "They need to be open-minded because you know how we are, especially women; we like pretty big things. We don't like certain websites, because it's fast, we like a website because it's pretty, and we don't want to change our website -- we took so long building, putting the cute little flowers in there. But your website sucks for Google, and you need to write these words. You should listen to us and do what we tell you because we know what we're talking about." - Ana Perrone "There are many things I tell my students like, don't worry about social media so much, focus on Google because most of SEO is from Google's search engine. If your prospective client wants to get the service that you offer, they're not going to go to Facebook and look for it on Facebook; they're not going to go and look for it on Instagram -- that is social media, they're not search engines." - Ana Perrone Connect with Ana Perrone: miamibeachmicroblading.com Facebook Instagram Pinterest Connect with April Meese: support@aprilmeese.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook
Summary: Year 2020 has put all of us in a situation none of us would have imagined happening. Business-wise, my beauty business shutdown as well as those of my students’ business. Despite what happened I still continue to find ways to help them with their business and myself, too. Since starting my beauty business, I have always been juggling family duties with work, but by the end of 2020, I felt my body was getting worn out. I had been sick with a sinus infection and hives from the family tension and anxiety that came about with quarantine. So I’ve decided to take time off from social media to create memories with my family and to get a clearer perspective. Even after a rough start to the new year I am hopeful and have a positive outlook for this year. Taking some time off gave me space and grace I needed. It helped me to get clarity about important matters and reprioritize. I have always believed that you have to build your life around your business and not the other way around. That’s what I did, I walked the talk. I’m hoping these revelations will help you, too, in any way possible. Tactics can only get you so far. I pride myself in teaching sustainable marketing strategies that give you the real results and built my business while raising twin toddlers. That’s why you want to go with leveraged marketing. As you know, Facebook and Instagram have changed a lot since even a few years ago and it takes a lot more effort and time to get clients organically. In order to help you with your beauty business, I will continue to show up for you on my Facebook Business Page and the Beauty Marketing Simplified Podcast with free content. You can also expect low-cost workshops to give you tools for quick wins and business boost. One thing for sure is, the best way I can help you most is when you get a higher level of support. Investing in yourself gives you significant changes in your business and makes you step up on a different level. I have seen the most progress in my students in the Elevate Your Beauty Business program and the Mastermind Excel-erate Program. I would love for you to reach out to me for a success strategy call and see how I could support you. Hoping for a fantastic 2021 for all of us! “It's important to build your business around your life, not build your life around your business. And I need to walk the talk. So that's what I needed to do. And I pride myself in teaching sustainable marketing strategies.” - April Meese Topics Covered: 00:55 - Why she took time off from social media and podcasting 02:37 - Finding that work-life balance 03:15 - Starting a business, helping beauty professionals, and becoming obsessed with their results 04:15 - Teaching her students leveraged marketing 04:34 - A wakeup call, getting clear and reprioritizing matters 05:43 - How to get a life and enjoying the process without overwhelm and stress 06:42 - Understanding and knowing that principles are permanent, strategies are sustainable and tactics are temporary 07:19 - What you can expect from April to help you in your business 08:03 - Invest in yourself - how April can help you the most Key Takeaways: “I took some time off to heal my body to make some memories with my family and to get grounded on what's really important and focus on those things. Summary: Like Black Friday, December is also one of those holidays people worldwide look forward to. It is probably one of those days when people are likely to spend more, however tight the situation may be. As you look forward to this month, you can't help but also think of what you can do for your business. Saving time and energy should be on top of your list. That is why it is best to have your systems in check. Getting a checklist on what to do next makes for speedier action. Think about your documentation for your client gifts, team appreciation system, and don't forget about your vision and planning for next year. If you are planning to have holiday promotions this year, make sure that you not only plan on having discounts. Holiday specials do not only mean discounts. You can think of creative ways to bundle up packages or give some bonuses for purchases made on selected items. Understand that giving specials is also a way to test how your market responds to it. If you experienced offering promotions before during this time and it didn't pan out, then look at where you've been missing on not doing enough to catch their undivided decision. Or maybe you haven't been posting enough in all media available for them to know all about it. Today is also a good time for you to think of ways of getting testimonials and strengthening your social proof. Or you can actually make contests out of liking or sharing photos to elicit active engagement among them. It is an excellent time to go over your content checklist. You must be posting valuable posts. Do your clients find enough value that it addresses their objection, leading them to take action? Also, get this time to show gratitude to your clients by having an appreciation post, talk about self-care. It has never been more relevant to be talking about this topic at this time. Or else go all out with your planning next year. How about gift-giving ideas you can think of? Homemade goodies and self-care kits are welcome treats for customers. Throw in making a holiday beauty gift guide or collaborate with other businesses in the area. There is just so much to look forward to and so many things you can do that you won't be running out of creative ideas. Be sure everything's strategic and not just any random plan. "The best plan, I think is to have a plan and think of ways that you can just improve." - April Meese Topics Covered: 02:04 - The best plan to do before 2020 is finally over 02:42 - Getting your systems in place to get things done and save you time 04:38 - Making sure about your business holiday hours 05:37 - Have you thought about a system or documentation for client gifts, team appreciation system, your vision, and planning for next year? 06:47 - Research says that people spend more during December even if finances are tight 07:08 - Specials do not only mean discounts 07:29 - Understanding the idea of specials 08:31 - What you should know about holiday promotions 10:31 - Ways of getting more testimonials and increase your social proof 11:20 - What to do on days when the market slows down 13:16 - Check your content checklist and pay attention to your gratitude exercise 13:35 - How to do your holiday beauty gift guide 14:21 - Spotlight and collaborate with other businesses around the area 15:52 - Are your posts valuable? Is it something that you would tune into? Is it something that is just promotional, or is it just talking about general things? 18:10 - Holiday gift-giving ideas Key Takeaways: "You might also just need some systems, right systems as we always say help you get things done systems save you time." - April Meese "You probably have already made sure that you have your business holiday hours, which days you are planning on being off and if you are making your hours a little shorter, and hopefully you've also not only decided that but you've also posted that to let others know." - April Meese "Specials do not mean that it has to be a discount. You can bundle your services; you can work with other referral partners to bundle packages together with them, you can get creative, you don't always to discount your services." - April Meesel Meese "Remember, the idea of a special is to show extra value and give people a reason and incentive to spend the money with you or also just to make a decision to buy." - April Meese "The other thing about holiday promotions is, you are testing things. You see what your audience responds to." - April Meese Connect with April Meese: support@aprilmeese.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook
Asking important questions that concern your beauty business peel off layers of more important issues that need to be addressed. It will not only help you dig deeper and deal with what matters most but that it will help you move closer to your goal easier and faster. You must be always on track to where you are supposed to go and asking these questions helps a lot. The questions you ask yourself matter a lot depending on what stage in your business you are in. If you are just in the beginning stage, what concerns you most is getting clients in. What are clients thinking about, what are they dealing with now? How to overcome the client’s objections to your service? Which leads us to ask, what stories do we need to be telling them to take action and get past those objections? This brings us to the idea of social proof, which is putting out there success stories of people you’ve helped with in the past. This is how you build brand visibility that is making more buyers and not just followers. It is also important to ask how you want your future with your business to be like. What should you let go of to focus better on something more rewarding? It‘s helpful to imagine yourself already at the top of success, try asking yourself what you created to be able to reach there? What strategies did you employ that worked for you? What systems did you set up in place to make things efficient? Less is actually more. Try to declutter your marketing strategy. Doing more in your beauty business sometimes doesn’t make sense. You just need to focus on the one that works and do more of that. That which you put your attention more grows. Be sure to find out which will bring big returns to your investment.
Black Friday or Cyber Monday is just around the corner. Statistics point out that people spend more at this time of the year because they are already preconditioned to spend more. It is just a matter of standing out with your offer and grabbing their undivided attention. As the holiday promo frenzy is getting nearer, it is best to weigh the pros and cons of offering promotions. The opportunity to earn more is the main reason and it builds brand awareness for sure. There's a big chance to hit your goals that you could not do at the start of the year and months earlier. Besides, it gives you a continuous plan on what to do over again if something works. At the same time, you must ask yourself, are you up for the big task at hand? Yes, there is some work involved here. You need to promote it correctly; otherwise, it will just be a waste of time and investment. If you decide to make a go for it, thinking outside of the box is highly encouraged. Think of ideas that set you apart from the rest of the crowd. Though you are geared towards holiday promos, the idea here goes beyond that one-day event so that you are making sure that your strategies make a ripple effect on the back end of your beauty business. When set up correctly, these promotions make repeat buyers out of your clients and will make them value your products and service more than they do your discounts. As you know, offering discounts is not always a way to build a loyal clientele but there are ways you can increase your products and services' perceived value. Think about value-adding ways to promote your services other than just offering discounts. You can have discounts on certain products or services that are selling less, the kind which clients are a bit afraid of or not as popular. It's not necessarily that you put your best seller services on promo because they are already selling every time and all the time. Bundling and upselling are also the kind that you have to think about. It increases your average order value. More than just creating the special offers you have in mind; you need to promote it wherever and whichever way you can. It is important to let people know about it. Make it known on all social media platforms and you can even make a contest out of it. You can even connect with other beauty businesses about your promotion, promote each other's businesses, or have it on radio or tv. If you want to dig in more and find out three strategies that are going to boost your overall revenue without a discount, then check out the mini-workshop that is happening next week. www.aprilmeese.com/bf.

How do you put your life together when all you've got is a seemingly crippling situation? You've started a business with your hard work, but don't see a single client around. What rubs insult to injury is the crumbling personal life you've got to deal with without family nearby to help you out. With massive faith and steadfast determination, you can beat the impossible odds and reach success. Valerie proves it as she shares her story. She did it, so can you. Valerie Weber is the Founder of Dermagrafix Permanent Cosmetic Studio, a Cosmetic Tattoo Artist and Certified Instructor. She began her journey in cosmetic tattooing, where she felt most at home in her artistic self. After years of striving to learn more to be the best, she realized that it took a great deal of practice and dedication to this craft to be just that. She continued to learn from those she admired and collected valuable knowledge that eventually helped her develop her style. Loving what she's doing is a complete understatement. The idea that a well-executed cosmetic tattoo can positively change someone's quality of life, knowing that drives her to be her best and work side-by-side with other professionals she trusts and shares that same vision as she has. Ultimately, this thought led her to train and mentor others who are also meant to change lives through art. The ever-popular Bi-Fusion Eyebrows and WhipLash Eyeliner techniques were what she played with for years to get just right. In this episode, Valerie shares what you need to consider in growing your business, the need to hire a team, the structure you need to create, and what comes with getting one. She underscores how not to sacrifice laws and safety even when you are still starting and doing things yourself. You're putting your brand and name on the line here. Though we are already digitally connected, she points out nothing beats creating personal relationships with your clients. That will last you a lifetime. As a business-minded person, she reminds everyone that your time is your investment. Though she's big on being generous, always learn to draw the line where your business assets aren't compromised. As with every success, you start at the beginning, and Valerie shares the most challenging times when she started her beauty business. At that time, her married life was in shambles, she went through a divorce, was left with a 5-year old son she sent to and from school while juggling her work in a clinic. She didn't receive child support; she didn't have a family member to help her out with her son. Her father was dying of cancer. She was all alone and left with no choice. What adds to the awful situation is that she had no clients, but never gave up. With patience and dedication, she painstakingly worked on her portfolio by scrapbooking. She went to every place she could get friendly with the owners and presented what she had. That's when her efforts paid off. To this day, she looks back with pride in her achievements. It was a choice of fight or flight. She chose to fight... and see where it got her today - on the wings of success.

How do you become great at what you’re good at? Are you just new and starting out in your permanent beauty business? Have you been in the industry long enough but just now going all-in in what you’re passionate about? We’ve seen beauty professionals who have achieved so much and have proven their worth in the industry. For sure, it is not pure luck that brought them there. They didn’t get there overnight; there must be a beginning to everything. We chat about how one gets started, hard work, passion, overcoming fear - crushing it, just doing it, and continuous learning and education, which all provide inspiration for us to emulate. Rose Prieto began her career as an eyelash and makeup artist nearly 30 years ago during her years as a Theater Arts major in college. Her fondness for character development inspired her interest in stage make-up, which led to her passion for manipulating the contours of the face, using shadow and light. Rose is a licensed cosmetic tattooist, aesthetician, and electrologist living in Miami, Florida where she owns and operates a private aesthetic practice, "Beauty and Brow Lounge.” Her passion within the PMU arena ignited when she began mentoring young artists. Her love of educating and empowering others propelled her to write her first PMU Educational Guide, 'How Fitzpatrick and Melanin Influence the Cosmetic Tattoo ", ‘ which she has turned into an online course of the same name. As a published beauty writer and content creator(since 2013), Rose has dedicated her career to educating others through her knowledge of skincare and beauty. She is currently developing the second book in her PMU useful guide series, "In the Skin.” She continues to host her own weekly podcast, " The Beauty Lounge,” where she empowers listeners to become the best aesthetic version of themselves. In this episode, Rose shared how she got started in the PMU industry, how she went all-in just to conquer all the fears that would bring her closer to achieving what she wanted in her life. She couldn’t stress enough how important passion, hard work, continuous education, and learning are to grow your business. If you are just starting out, she strongly recommends giving out your services for free if only to put more hours into practice to be good at a particular skill you are passionate about. There is no substitute for getting hands-on practice to become the best at what you do. She shares tips on building lasting relationships with clients as this will carry your business down the road of success. Mastering every skill you can think of doesn’t help; she recommends niching on something you’re good at, work on it, and be the best in it. And if there’s one enemy that’s preventing you to step up completely, that is - your fear, Rose teaches us how to conquer it every time.

Stories have a lot to tell, and your marketing is a series of stories you tell your audience about your brand. And what eventually leads to sales are the stories you share that make them relate and resonate with your product and service. And what are the stories you need to tell? First off, have your signature story that you have to share every time you have an event or talk with anyone. Instead of talking to them about technical terms, it is best to let them know what you do and what transformation is achieved once they experience the product or service. There are a lot more stories you can weave in from there. Stories of your own customers' transformation - the before, during, and after can be one - this addresses their fears of trying the service. It gives them the feeling they are not the only ones having the problem. That there is a solution to their problem. Those testimonials you collect from those who have tried your services and product - they matter too. That adds credibility to your service. And that is important to your target audience that they see your service works for other people, which means creates the reassurance in their minds that it will also work for them. Tell them your own stories of being a mom, experiences where you and your audience can get insights from, your struggles and successes in your personal and professional life. All these things are significant inspirations for your stories. Creating stories is one thing, and making an impact with your story is another thing. That is why we need to talk about the key ingredients in crafting stories that connect with your audience. Let your story have a hook that brings in the curiosity that will get them more engaged with your story. Second is, let it speak to their problem and the solution. It would be best if you zeroed in on the challenges and struggles they are experiencing, the transformation they want, and then provide them the opportunity to overcome it; this is where your services come in. After connecting with them on an emotional and logical level, you need to show them that you are the authority, back your claims with proof. The bigger the promise of transformation, the more significant the proof is required. People need to find out that what you are communicating is true. Stories indeed have the power to captivate and convince your audience of themselves about your service. They are not there to entertain but rather serve its purpose of not only telling but selling, and in effect, serving.
In this episode, talk about WHY microblading (and machine-implanted permanent makeup) can morph into dark gray, purple or other funky heals, and WHAT the client can do about it.
Do you ever think you’ve tried it all...and nothing works - that there’s not a glimmer of hope left in your world? How about that fear gripping you all along that you think you are just being practical about not pursuing your goal? Are you just really gonna walk away from the business you’ve worked so hard for? Think about it again, you might just be like Michele, downright unsure of herself. Listen to her as she shares her journey and amazing transformation with the Elevate Program. You might just want it to happen to you, as well. Michele Moore-Breiten is the owner and artist at Defined Beauty Permanent Makeup. Permanent makeup has become her passion which is why continuing education is important to her. She has attention to detail and amazing customer service. In this episode, Michele shares how the struggle was real for her, from being gripped with fear, with no confidence to step up ahead in her business, with barely one client a day to attend to, and with her own personal issues to think about all the way to becoming a new version of herself - someone with clarity, focus and most of all, a fantastic transformation and conversion in both herself and her business.
This year has been a rollercoaster ride for everyone and for everyone’s business. We get to choose whether we are seeing opportunities or cowering in fear of uncertainty. For those of us who want to move forward in our business, this is how we can face what lies ahead - by asking questions that truly matter in our business, in ourselves, and in our marketing. Answering those questions provides us a gauge on how to act on it. And by saying so, let’s start asking ourselves questions that push us toward our goals. How can we navigate through these times and thrive? What are the concrete steps I need to do to be able to gain more clients? How should I plan to show up for my clients? What am I capable of doing at this time? These are questions that allow you to become proactive. And this is good for raising your positivity meter. Think about your customer service. Have you done enough in this area? Ask - How am I making my clients’ experience of the service even more magical for them? How do I continue to serve them better? Am I truly helping them get the results that they want? Be obsessed with your success in creating success stories for them. It will only serve you better in getting testimonials and referrals. Marketing is also one big chunk of your concern. Consider your content creation. Think about the who, what, where, when, why, and how of creating it. Be specific with the message you want to be conveyed by taking into account where they’re at in their buyer’s journey - are they problem aware, solution aware or are they completely unaware? Also, learn to leverage your time. How can you do that? Learn to repurpose your material and turn them into different social media assets. Learn to verbalize your message to come up with effective marketing. Creating systems also helps you save time. Ask yourself when are you going to document the process of your business operations because in doing so you increase your efficiency as they become reliable and repeatable. Most importantly, ask yourself - What is my highest potential look like? What is that one thing I am capable of doing? What is it that I deserve? What result do I want for my business? Are my values aligned with my actions? The answers to these questions will get you to do unconventional actions that will get you results. And that’s what matters.
What keeps you holding back? Why are you still holding on to your excuses? Do you really think you know it all? Truth is, we all have this chatter running through our heads; ‘I am not good enough’, ‘I’m just too busy for it’, ‘I know everything about this...why not just read a book again or go watch YouTube’, ‘I’m not confident to show up’, ‘I’ll do it later’. The excuses are endless. Have you really thought about where all this perfectionism and procrastination leaves you and your business? Let’s take a look at that and meet Chelsea and know her life before and after Elevate. You might just find yourself in her and the Elevate Program might just be what you need to scale up from where you are now. For Chelsea Larsen, growing up, art was just a way of life for her. She did the drawing and painting and it became second nature to her and she chose to pursue a career in the tattoo industry, feeding the creativity of her soul, and she discovered makeup and more specifically corrected makeup and she fell in love and so she now does permanent makeup. Let’s listen in to Chelsea as she uncovers herself - the self-doubting, the perfectionist/procrastinating, the ever-busy mom of two, and the know-it-all woman before the Elevate program to become the confident and ever raring entrepreneur she’s cut out for.
How would you feel if you reached a point when what fuels your business is pocketed from your household’s grocery budget? If that is not enough to imagine it, add this...you have 8 mouths to feed and you are a solo parent. AND you are full of self-doubt and wouldn’t consider asking for help from anyone. Meet Heidi Henderson. This was her reality, but as fate would have it, she betted on her only chance at turning things around for her and her children. Let’s hear her story with the Elevate Program. Heidi Henderson, RT, CRT, is a permanent makeup artist and Paramedical Tattooist in Bakersfield, Ca. where she owns a “New You Permanent Makeup.” After many years in the medical field as a Respiratory Therapist and Neurological Rehabilitation aide, she decided to open her own business and join the ever-growing field of aesthetics with a focus on helping cancer survivors and trauma victims complete their reconstruction with Areola tattooing and scar camouflage. She enjoys spending her spare time with her children and working on gardening and DIY home improvement projects. Let’s listen in to Heidi as she recalls her life before the Elevate Program, being that insanely introvert human being with a business that’s “circling down the drain” and how it was transformed into something not even herself could begin to imagine.
This time of pandemic can either define and diminish or develop us. These words of Jim Kwik from his book ‘Limitless’ ring true in our midst today. And most of the takeaways we get from his book are ones that point to reaching our goals. Even in this trying time, we can always steer the course of our business towards success. The first thing we need to be aware of is our mindset. Yes, this is one big thing to consider. It is either we downgrade or upgrade it. Don’t say, ‘Can I do it?’, think about ‘How can I do it?’. We need to have a proactive mindset and a winning attitude despite it all. We need to show up and release false and limiting beliefs. The self-talks that are not moving us forward is a waste of our time. Get rid of the LIE - Limited Idea Entertained. Don’t let bad thoughts detour you. Think of all the possibilities that exist for you. It is also important that something pushes us to take action and this is where motivation plays a big part. Gather all the reasons why you need to take those actions. Fill up your calendar with activities that light you up and move you into action. Keep that passion burning and remind yourself of your purpose. Tap into the emotion and weigh the rewards and consequences. In this time, with all that’s bothering us and consuming our attention, we can’t help but get overwhelmed. There is one thing to keep in mind that is very useful, and that is, start with simple small steps. This will ultimately lead you to do bigger things. If there is one thing you need to do in your business right now then do it, it is only a matter of doing that one small thing to keep you doing a lot more and keep you closer to your goal. Last but not least, the key to your success is the methods. You can have the right mindset and motivation to do things, but if you don’t have the strategies and systems on how to go about in reaching your goal then you are going to do a lot of things with little result. Find a system that is reliable and repeatable.
Maybe you have a lot going through your mind right now. You are not tech-savvy and are too old to learn new things. Or maybe, you say, ‘I know a lot already and my business is doing well…..there’s nothing in it for me anymore.’ But what if, just when you thought you’ve got everything all figured out, the Elevate Program could do so much more for you and your beauty business as it has done for Molly? Molly Klip is the sole owner of Carefree Beauty Permanent Makeup with two locations in Lynwood and Arlington, Washington. She's been practicing permanent cosmetics for over six years. And she specializes in micro-blading and Soft Tap powder eyebrows. And she also teaches a 100-hour curriculum for cosmetics. Her 30 years of being in the cosmetic industry and running a multimillion-dollar organization drive her to help others. She has an extensive background in beauty and running businesses. And she's received awards, two years running for the Best of Lynwood for Permanent Makeup for 2019 and 2020. And she was one of the earliest winners of the Aloette’s Eagle award for her contributions to Aloette’s. Molly has also co-authored two books - Image Power and Mom Entrepreneur Extraordinaire. And she's also a board member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals and on the board of directors since 2018. She also served as the Secretary and Quarterly Editor. And she's going to be serving another two years coming up. Let’s listen in to this episode as Molly shares how the Elevate Program impacted a change in herself as well as in her business. Starting a new venture later in life and not being a tech geek, she was able to do so much more than you can imagine for her beauty business.
The changing times call for us to think about where we are in our business. It’s a challenging time and I know how you feel as I also tried to start a business during the great recession. It is never easy but you can still take action. This is the time to be creative and think outside of the box. We need to adapt to change. If you are struggling with your beauty business, want to turn things around, or believe a unique system can help you, then consider the Amplify Method. This method is taught in one of the courses I offer that will change your business. Not just with tactics but strategies that will attract the right customers--not just bargain hunting individuals. You want your business to complement the way you design your life. In order to achieve this, we must choose the right mentor. Someone who has proven success in that niche. This will save you time and energy because finding someone who has already made an impact makes for the fastest route to your business growth. If you make mistakes, learn from them, and seek help from those who are already where you want to be. There is also a need to look at your marketing. Your message must convey your services and their value. You’ve got to work on that. As beauty professionals, we are caught up in our own limitations. We do our business by ourselves and that gets us stuck. And this is not the way to move forward, we need to call in support. We have seen many businesses close down, but if you want your business to thrive, look at what you can do to move ahead. Develop a mindset of a true entrepreneur. Don’t get stuck, just do the imperfect action.
In whatever economy the world is in there is one key to business success and that is marketing. If you have effective marketing, sales becomes easy. More than the skills we have, we need to know how to attract the right customers. And more than the tactics of posting on social media and on our website, we need to learn about the strategy of persuasive influence. Let it be communicated to clients that we are the clear and only path towards the solution to their problem. In order to come up with effective marketing, we need to keep the following in mind. First, learn to captivate them, get their attention so we can tell them the rest of our story and the services that we offer, and let them take action. Secondly, communicate the benefits! Talking about the benefits of your services every so often is what good marketing is all about. Customers want to know about the benefits over features. How will it transform their lives? With that, your compelling marketing message should have clarity of superior value. This message should be clear across all platforms used. Don’t confuse them, let them know what you are selling and most importantly, the value they are getting from it. Another important factor to consider is, your marketing message should create rapport and connection. Have that empathy for your customers, understand their fears and struggles, and where they are coming from so that they can relate to you. When your marketing message is credible then you build authority. It is easier to convince customers about your services when they clearly know you are the go-to person. What helps in achieving this credibility are the client testimonials and case studies in addition to the list of certifications that you have. There are always subtle ways of positioning and not boasting your authority. When customers see you are an authority, it takes away the accountability of decision making from them. It’s easier for them to decide. What subjects most of us to indecision is the fear of loss, we are scared to commit mistakes in making a decision. That is why a compelling marketing message crushes those objections. It is important that we remove our customer’s decision fatigue so we can make sales. Let it be clear in their mind right away that we are the only solution to their problem. One more important point is the call to action. Give them the reason to buy now not only because there is a discount or promotion but because if they won’t, there is something they would be missing out on. This is what you call a consequence of inaction. In summary, if you have a compelling message that the right customer resonates with, then sales is a no-brainer.
For our business to be successful we need to have sales. To have sales we need to work on our marketing. And increasing social proof builds up our marketing and helps us with sales. With all the fake news surrounding us these days, people are cynical about advertisements. That’s why getting testimonials helps us do the job of getting sales for our business. It addresses objections because of the benefit experienced by using a product or service. It builds our authority and credibility and the more we have it, the easier marketing becomes. Look for quality and variety when it comes to social proof. Be mindful when asking for a review. The ideal time to ask your client is when they are excited and feeling good over their purchase. We highly recommend automating the process of collecting testimonials because it is easily forgotten throughout our busy day. Who doesn’t love rewards? Incentivizing people for testimonials by giving unexpected bonuses creates favorable responses and thus activates reciprocity. It is human nature that when someone does something good to us we want to return the favor. Social proof builds our authority and credibility. The more we have it, the more effective the marketing is which will pave the way for sales.

What could save you more time and less stress? It’s about having systems in your business. As a beauty professional who owns a beauty business, we dream of making it big and making a difference in the people that we serve. We want to grow our business. And as we grow our business, it would demand time and energy from us. If it just us doing all the work, probably we get burned somewhere in between and that’s one thing we don’t want to happen. A lot of us still adheres to the manual way of doing things but nothing compares when you do things online. The process just gets easier. When we do things all by ourselves it slows down the whole process, especially when clients keep pouring in. You can only do so much. That is why we become bottlenecks in our own business. What energy we put in is the energy that comes back to us. We need systems to get things in place and we need help from competent people to run the systems. It is only when we offload ourselves of repetitive tasks and hire someone to do it for us instead, only then can we devote our time to growing more our business. My virtual assistants and operations manager have done a good job of saving me time and effort to spend on something that would otherwise take my freedom off from where I should be focusing it instead. I know putting things in place takes a little time to do. Why not consider documenting your everyday tasks into one list? Afterwhich, you need to categorize them in order of importance and which are costing you the longest amount of time but which have low activity value. At the end of which, the reason for you doing this is to determine which tasks you need to hire someone for. I want you to get this because when you value your time and your energy, you start to have more time, energy, and money, not to mention freedom.
Repetition is big in marketing. Why do many brands advertise? Because marketing is creative and repetitive. To create a more memorable and good feeling about one's product or service, big brands launch slogans. It gets stuck in the head, and even for years, people will still remember it. But there has to be something more than a slogan because, in itself, it is not enough. Your brand's value must be conveyed. This is where the two parts of marketing come in. The strategic and tactical parts. It is good to have your website, do Facebook ads, social media posts, trade shows, and what have you. What you are doing here is the tactical part. More than those is that part where your marketing is dialed into the message you want to convey to the clients. Is it connecting with them, their fears, their aspirations, their problems that need solutions? You could spend a big amount on any of the tactical stuff but if your message doesn’t relate with your clients, it won’t work. You should remember that marketing helps people come up with a good decision. The message you convey to them helps them decide that your product is the best choice for them. Your brand's value must be clear to them. As with beauty services, it is not enough to just present the before and after results. There are some details that clients don't see that make it a better option for them. That's why you have to educate them about what the whole process or service is all about so they will feel confident about themselves. You should start with empathy and understand where they're at. Marketing answers their objections. Once your message resonates with what they feel and their pain, then you will be going to earn their trust. And that's going to take them to take action. When customers don’t see a difference between what you offer versus the competitor’s then they would default to the least complex variable and that is the price. It can’t be stressed enough that when people don’t understand the value of what you are offering, price becomes a deciding factor for them. Last but not least, when you are doing good marketing you won't be doing a hard sell.
As you start your business you do everything all by yourself. But as your business grows, there is a need to delegate tasks so you can have time back to focus more on scaling your business. This is where outsourcing is necessary. You say you’re the only one who knows everything you do in your business and that you can’t afford to hire somebody else to do it for you. But the reality is you can actually hire someone who is competent and knows his way around what you do. Not to say, overall, it saves you time and money. You can actually make a list of all that you do in your business and ask yourself key questions like: is this making me money, should this be delegated, is this a good use of my time? Another point is, ask yourself what kind of business do you want to have? Getting stressed and worried because you do everything all by yourself or having the freedom and ease to go about what is of top priority to you? Another thing is, delegating should never be later lest you find yourself years later still stuck in the hamster wheel you’ve been on when you’ve started.
Why do you think people buy sports memorabilia? Why do they follow a sports team and buy hats, shirts, with their favorite team’s logo on it? Telling your story plays an important role in giving an impact to your audience. It has to be full of empathy since your story has a way of connecting with people. When you put out a message that resonates well with their pains, fears, and struggles, people buy your products or services. As beauty professionals, you have a unique calling in this world. You act as therapists for your clients and what better way to do your part in fulfilling your mission than spreading your message through your story so you can reach more people to help with their transformation. Since you have a unique way of serving people, you have the moral obligation to show up to tell your story repeatedly and consistently. That way you will start to build your audience, it may be small at the onset but that’s how things start. You might not know who you’re touching and reaching. But things don’t just stop at telling your story. It is not enough that they hear it. This is all about spreading your message and compelling them to take action to get the solution to start their transformation. You’ve got to be able to reframe the way you think about selling because selling is serving and this has to be communicated in your story.
Your business’ sustainability matters. And for this reason our marketing matters, too. It is not enough that we have cheap prices; discounts don’t do the job, either, to attract the right clients. Long-term success is our goal and for this to be viable we have to work on improving our marketing message. And for it to work it has to be dialed into the hearts and minds of your prospects. They come to you with a problem, you have to make a way to convince them your solution is what they have to take action on. This is where persuasion comes in. This may have garnered a wrong notion to some but what it really is about, is sending your message to make known the value of your products or services without hard selling. People don’t like it when they are being sold to. They don’t buy products, they buy results and that is your solution to their problem. You also need to develop rapport-building strategies to create influence for them to take action. And speaking of influence you need to take these three into consideration. First, you should decide which audience to attract because you must be drawing in the right clients for sustainability's sake. Don’t just think of lowering prices, that will only serve you short-term. The other thing is, you need to connect with them to understand their concerns, their reasons for buying, and for not buying. Third, you should learn to figure out their pain, unless you make clear to them their pain and what it’s costing them, that’s when they take action on your solution. Your marketing message is seen in your rapport with prospects and that shouldn’t start right when you have consultations with them, that message must be conveyed everywhere - on your website, on your blog, and on your social media. That way you pull in clients that are right for you.
If you want sustainability for your beauty business, you need to leverage these two resources: time and money. We need to realize how closely connected time and money are and how these two help your business tremendously. In this new normal that we live in, all the more that we need to maximize resources to get our business thriving. You can always charge additional fees for PPEs that clients would be using when they get their services done, as well as, other sanitation and disinfecting measures you will put in place. You might be worried you are “nickel and diming” them but what you don’t realize people already understand the state we are in as other businesses are also doing the same thing and they are aware that these are happening. You can do traditional ways of leveraging money by putting it in stocks, real estate, IRAs, and a lot more. And for your beauty business, since you have clients who already booked with you during lockdowns as well as those who book after, prioritization is what you should think about. How to leverage money here? One of the ideas that you would want to give a try is having a VIP day for your customers wherein they would pay more for having access to you on a Saturday, the most in-demand day. Don’t be worried about their reaction, Disney World is having a fast pass for those who want to get ahead in line and maximize time to increase the number of rides one can get in a day. This one you can relate to your beauty business and I will talk about lengthily in this episode. As you can see, technology has helped us in ways we could ever imagine. Some helpful tools and apps speed up the process. Take advantage of them, more so, get online scheduling. You will find it interesting and beneficial you would think why you haven’t done it in the first place. It may cost you a little, but it saves you time talking to your clients about appointments and after-service self-care. Besides, this is one way for you to get reviews for social proof about your beauty business, which helps a lot. How about hiring virtual assistants? Don’t do everything all by yourself and pull yourself out from that hamster wheel. What will take you months figuring out your company’s logo will only take about a few dollars and time if you outsource it. Social management would be easier if you pay somebody to do it for you. That would be adding up time for you to focus on more business-building areas. Realize that sooner. You can always find these VAs somewhere. You need to have a system in place to have proper communication and expectations are met. Think of having VAs as an investment and not an expense. We have to remember, it takes money to get money, so use money, leverage it to make more time, and get more money. An abundance mindset powers us up to success.
Those of us in the beauty industry have big hearts and we are in this business because we love helping others. That is why we have to be reminded that whatever decision we choose to make at this time must be done out of concern for clients. If you choose to stay close at the moment and not sell, may it not be for the reason of guilt and fear. Feeling guilty that you are taking something from your clients rob them of the right to feel good about themselves. Because it is not just talking of surface beauty, it’s a lot more than that, it’s the confidence and time taken back, that is the result of this for them. Your guilt is the last thing they want. You don’t have to worry about offending them by selling to them. Selling is a two-way process, it is an exchange of value. There are those in their homes waiting for what you can offer them. Should you decide to open at this time, take into account PPEs you and the clients should wear, additional charges for sanitation and disinfection measures you will put in place. Don’t worry too much about charging them for those, this episode will help you clear that out. Think about how to serve clients well and how to do things differently without compromising quality and safety. How about thinking of creative ways to enhance your clients’ whole experience of the service? This episode has plenty of suggestions to meet that. There is a lot you can do to offer your clients the best service you can have. Either way, if you sell now or not, the reason must come out of love.
To get through this crisis, we must manage expectations. Let’s start with the clients’ expectations. Communicate with them your position. Even if you are unsure of things, let them know. Just giving them a reason will give them an idea and make them feel better and in turn, sets the right expectation from them. Here come your expectations of yourself. You cannot please everyone. There is only so much that we can do. Let’s be realistic that we can’t do it all. Expect that there is the new normal, and we are limited by what we can do given the circumstances at this time. You don't need to do all of the things, just focus on some of the key things that are going to move your business forward. Because setting the expectations right will not make us super disappointed. When it comes to your business, expect that everything will flourish amidst it all. We can be creative in the services that we offer our clients, price points will remain the same but with certain tweaks to services and products to suit clients’ budget. You can always provide payment plans and financing for high-end services that you offer. People are still buying. Don’t be swayed by what you believe that cosmetic procedures are not essential. Studies show that people buy based on emotion and not on need. Some businesses came to be, take the case of Uber and Airbnb, without us ever expecting them to dominate the market. Expect that your business will thrive. Believe that your business will be successful. What you direct your mind towards becomes your focus. So, focus on positivity and just remember this, ‘If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t, either way, you are right.’
There is so much that gardening has taught me these days, so much so, that I can’t help comparing it to starting a beauty business. You have everything in mind, you want everything to be in place and you buy everything you could ever think of that would help run things smoothly. And experience teaches me that in gardening as it is in business, it takes sacrifice and patience to grow the plants and grow your business. You don’t expect fruits and vegetables to be harvested two weeks after, that’s never the case. In business, there is the knowledge gap you have to consider, the learning curve to face, and it takes time. It is way more expensive than you could think of. That’s why you need to have a strategic plan to see you through all the facets of handling your business. Panicking lets you take on way much more than what is necessary. It is purchasing many tools more than what you need for gardening and for business, it is offering deep discounts that would pave for serious repercussions in the long run. It is like, all you can think of is activating all of those panic buttons. Those will never help, there are lots of creative ways you can do to serve your clients. You can choose to adjust your pricing points. Another thing to consider is adding value to your service. Asking your clients how to serve them better is also one good idea. Sure, some of the topics I tackle in the episode, we already know them. It’s just that, we act as if we don’t know them. This episode reminds us to revisit our goals and plans and have actions in place that will help us meet them amidst this trying situation. As one quote says, “When things go wrong, don’t go with it.”
Fear is all around us these days, that’s a reality. But if we allow ourselves to be run by it then we wouldn't have anything done at all, personally and business-wise. We have to remember that our words and thoughts have power over us. And it is important especially at this time to feed our minds with what will push us to be productive and flourishing. When it comes to our beauty business, don’t ever think no one’s buying anything, be it a want or need. Don’t ever think people won’t buy from us since it is not a necessity these days. We must remember that each has his own perspective over something. Look at it this way, what may be non-essential to one is a necessity to others. What you can do today is to have faith. If you have that passion for what you're doing then believe that you are meant to do this. Dig deep down you and resolve to make your beauty business work. With the rise of the internet, people's attention is divided. And with that comes the rise in permanent makeup. Women want to look good and be confident and they don't have much time. And when you provide value, price only comes next. Look around you and see what you can work out on. Have the focus. Hard as it may seem to do these days but you need to put your mind on what you can control. Panicking never helps. Just make an informed decision. This episode will tackle everything about overcoming fear with faith and focus. We will get through this and we can do it.

This is not the easiest of times, but when we allow ourselves to be consumed by the negativity happening around us our health suffers and in so doing we become unproductive. When life presents us with something beyond our control what should likely be our response? Businesses have been hit the most these days, and everyone is panicking what could be the worst that could happen the next day or so. But there is more we can do other than dwell on what we can’t control. We need to focus on our self-care more so that we can be healthy and get the clarity to get things done for our own family and our business. For a lot of us, we’ve responded with a lot of mechanisms that only fueled us to get stuck and be led to seek desperate measures. It even stunted our perspective to seek creative ideas to do something for our business. Yes, a big uncertainty pervades the world today. Yet, it is through this dark time that we should rise above these roadblocks to fully see what we can still do. It still is not the end of the world. If only we open ourselves to the possibility that we can do better despite the times, we indeed can. It is never about shutting that fear but rather it is about acting on that fear and turning it into something advantageous to our business. What’s happening in the world is beyond our control, but we can always focus our time and effort on something we can control. Just when we thought we lack creative ideas to keep our business moving at this time, this episode will prove it otherwise. Expect free resources, helpful thoughts, strategies, helpful studies from surveys conducted. All these will help do something for your business to move forward. Not unless you believe there is something you can do and you act on it, your business will do well and it will ride through this crisis. This is not the easiest of times but, surely, this is the best of times to be proactive. Let’s get our mindset right.
Facing this challenging time is hard enough and having a business to take care of requires an extra amount of your effort, time, and focus to sustain you throughout this tough journey. Nonetheless, given the situation as it is; being reactive would not help at all. One is encouraged to be proactive because when you become such there is more you can do to help sustain your business rather than contribute to its undoing. It is never a good idea to stop doing your marketing especially at this time when your clients and customers need your presence. This is the best time to step up your marketing. You need to be thinking outside of the box or else your business will suffer. And that is the farthest we want to happen now. There has to be a whole lot of marketing strategies and techniques we need to employ. It has been said that desperate times call for desperate measures but this is never to be the case at this moment. Don’t be someone giving in to emotional discount. Once you do, there will come a point that your business will become a cup that runneth empty. And you don’t want that at all, for you are in for the long haul. Your steps should be pointing out to that long term goal. This is the best time to do your discounts strategically. This episode is what exactly this is for.
There is a lot of uncertainty ahead but this reason shouldn’t dampen our spirits to see what else we can do for ourselves, for others and for our business. There is still so much positivity around. This is an opportune time for us to be connecting and supporting each other and find out where we can help. I acknowledge that this would cause some kind of a dip for businesses. I know, too, we don’t have all the answers to all of what is happening, but the human spirit in all of us remains steadfast in coping up with this challenging time. We’re soldiering on and I know we can do this, with each others’ help we can come out of this stronger and better. This episode provides us an avenue to find resources, an action plan as well as encouragement to move ahead and continue to nurture our business as well as the clients and customers who are part of it. There is hopelessness in the air but I know this is not the time to bury our heads in the sand. Marketing at this time is so well needed, our message must be communicated carefully so as to be sensitive to others’ plight. I am sharing with you here everything I know on how to soften the blow this Coronavirus is trying to grip us with. Will fight on. Love and light to you all.
This may not be a good time but certainly, this is the best time to be good to ourselves and to other people around us. Anxiety and fear are all around the atmosphere and this is the right time to take off those emotions and channel it to something more useful and meaningful. There is still we can do to lessen the impact this big C has brought to our lives. This episode we have today brings about hope and positivity at this time. Let’s go and listen in!
We are at a time where we feel the onslaught of the global downturn. The fear that this big C is gripping us with is evident. And when things like this that is one big global concern hit us, we can only think of two different camps of people that would emerge, one is, those that are thinking the sky is falling down and the other one is, those who are in denial. I, for one, can't help being concerned about this global phenomenon because I have two little ones I care about. This is not to sound fear mongering or sowing seeds of panic. This global phenomenon has forced us again to enter into a period of recession. We all feel it. And we know this will have a big impact on our own businesses. As with previous recessions, Statistics shows that a lot of businesses close at this time. And it is more fitting than ever for me to talk about this topic now. Yes, we feel apprehensive about a lot of things these days but then, it is best to keep calm and not panic. There is much that preparedness can do and this episode is entirely devoted to making our business thrive amidst all this craziness around. As the saying goes “When the going gets tough, the tough must get going.” Now, Let’s get going!
