New York Medicaid has made some big bets on social care recently, and Amir Bassiri is here to answer all our questions. The bold new program centers on nine new regional networks that will be hubs for community organizations offering housing, food and other services. Will this program survive the new administration? Only time will tell. We discuss:The state's ambitious plan to screen every Medicaid enrollee for health-related social needsHow their approach differs from the social care strategies in NC and CAThe ticking clock: New York's critical three-year window to demonstrate cost savings and improved care outcomesAmir says he's hoping negotiating with the Trump administration goes better than last time:“We will have to negotiate our demonstration or the renewal of our demonstration with the current administration. The waiver does expire in 27. We have to renew it beginning one year prior to its conclusion, which means we will be negotiating with the Trump administration on our waiver. We've done that before, it did not work out well. “Relevant LinksWatch Amir's talk at the 2024 Medicaid Conference Get more background on 1115 waivers Read more information about New York's 1115 waiverAbout Our GuestAmir Bassiri, MSW (he, him, his) is the Medicaid Director for the New York State Department of Health. Paula stays up to date with trending topics, especially in mental health. When Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD) gained traction on TikTok, she knew exactly who to ask—therapist and mental health advocate Chelsea Wilder. Inviting Chelsea to the Thought Snob Podcast was a natural choice, as Paula recognized the importance of educating listeners about HPD. Since attention-seeking behaviors characterize the disorder, it can often lead to misunderstandings and social challenges. Paula trusted Chelsea to break it down in a clear, accessible way, helping people replace judgment with mindfulness and compassion. Like all Thought Snobs, Chelsea is intelligent, relatable, and passionate about mental health. Her journey into the field was driven by a deep recognition of the need for greater empathy and understanding, solidified by witnessing the profound effects of mental health crises, trauma, and substance abuse. Chelsea holds a Master of Social Work (MSW), is a Certified Social Worker (CSW), and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and more, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to support healing. Above all, she prioritizes creating a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel empowered to explore their struggles and discover their inner strength. Naomi received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Baylor. Naomi provides specialized training both within the organization for staff and externally for partner agencies. She was born and raised in The Netherlands and has worked as a Social Worker for over 12 years with different populations in different settings both abroad and in the states. Naomi is passionate about equipping the community so that they can help identify victims and foster healing and growth to survivors as she believes relationships are the agent of change. If you've been around me, you know I love partnering with great organizations. Today, I have the privilege of talking to Naomi, the director of our local Unbound group. You may not know much about them, but you're going to learn a lot. Naomi, thanks so much for being here today.Naomi: Yes, thanks for having me, Kerry.Kerry: Well, I'm not going to sit here and just talk—I'm going to ask you all the hard questions and put you on the spot. I was going to ask you beforehand how to say your last name properly since I never got it right.Naomi: I know people always get uncomfortable announcing it, but my last name is Rijpstra.Kerry: There you go! Letting you say it is so much better than getting it wrong. I've known about Unbound and participated with them, even back when I was on the prayer team at church. My heart goes out to what they do—fighting against human trafficking. So, let's get started. Naomi, tell people a little bit about yourself and Unbound, and how you connected with them.Naomi: Sure. First, I want to say thank you so much for being involved with Unbound. You've been around as long as I have, involved in so many ways, and we're really grateful for that. I started with Unbound in 2021—so that's four years ago. I'm originally from the Netherlands, where I worked as a social worker with diverse populations. I came to the States, and that's when I first encountered trafficking. I began working as a house parent at a ranch for girls who were trafficked. That was my introduction to understanding the trauma of human trafficking. I never thought that would be God's journey for me, but that's how it works.Since then, over more than ten years, I've worked in the anti-trafficking field both in the Netherlands and here in Texas. After graduating from Baylor University with my master's in social work, I joined Unbound. I already knew about Unbound through the founder of our location—I loved their work and vision. I started as the Director of Survivor Advocacy, and last year I became the director. At Unbound, our mission is to support survivors of human trafficking—both sex and labor trafficking—and to provide resources to the community to combat trafficking and ignite hope. Unbound began when some brave women in a Waco church started praying. The founder, Susan Peters, felt compelled after her overseas experience to say, "Oh my gosh! This is trafficking. We need to do something." Then they realized it wasn't just overseas—it was here in our state. So, they started with prayer, moved quickly into prevention outreach, and began working with the first survivor. Since then, we've expanded to six locations in Texas, two in Louisiana, and two offices overseas in Mongolia and Poland.Kerry: That's incredible. So, what do you do to support survivors and resource the community?Naomi: We focus on three key areas. First is training and outreach. We provide community training about human trafficking—what it is, what it looks like, how it happens, and what to do. We offer this training to anyone interested, and also provide specialized training for law enforcement, social workers, counselors, hotel staff, hospital staff—basically, anyone who might interact with potential victims. We also train volunteers who go out to local businesses, distributing flyers and raising awareness. Additionally, we're part of coalitions and a Human Trafficking Task Force here in the Brazos Valley, working with the sheriff's office on proactive investigations and outreach. The second area is youth prevention. We visit juvenile detention centers regularly, spending time with both girls and boys. We build relationships and work through a curriculum that covers human trafficking, social media, safe relationships, and more—helping them recognize red flags and stay safe. The third area is survivor services. We have a 24/7 crisis referral line with seven trained advocates, including three bilingual ones, who respond to calls from community partners, law enforcement, and survivors. They provide immediate crisis response, often at hospitals, and then offer long-term advocacy by connecting survivors with community resources and building trust-based relationships. This ongoing support is essential, as many survivors struggle to feel safe and trust the people around them.Kerry: That was awesome, Naomi. I've heard different perspectives on what you do, and I always learn something new. I know some homeschool or Christian moms might say, “This wouldn't happen in my city,” but as you explained, it's happening everywhere—even here in the United States, not just overseas. We're recording this right after the Super Bowl. I remember learning about human trafficking during a snowstorm in Dallas after the Super Bowl, and it really opened my eyes. Do you notice more activity during big events, like sports tournaments, when people need to be more alert?Naomi: It's always a common question. I don't have data to prove a trend, but trafficking happens regardless of events. Many people assume trafficking happens only when a kid is kidnapped, but research shows that less than 7% of cases involve kidnapping. Most of the time, it happens within relationships—someone the victim trusts, like a family member, or through online grooming. So while big events might make people more alert, trafficking is an ongoing issue that we must always be aware of.Kerry: That's so important. You also mentioned that people often think trafficking only affects girls and women, but men and boys can be trafficked too. Can you talk about that a bit?Naomi: Absolutely. We serve both males and females. Just yesterday, I was speaking with a survivor leader who explained that he was trafficked because he identified as LGBTQ. He was rejected by his family and became vulnerable. There's a significant stigma around male victimization, as society expects men to be protectors. This stigma makes it even harder for them to identify as victims or seek help, and there are fewer resources available for men. We need to overcome these barriers because there are many male victims too.Kerry: Okay, can you share a quick success story? I know some listeners might feel burdened, but it's important to hear that many people who go through Unbound find success and healing.Naomi: Sure. Last year, we served 174 clients, which is a testament to the impact of our work. One story that stands out is about a youth who was referred to us—not because she was trafficked, but because there was significant concern about her situation. She ran away, and though she was initially labeled a missing child, our task force and her advocate brought together all the necessary partners. Within a few days, we found her in another state. She had been a victim of human trafficking while away from home. Now, she's doing well, receiving ongoing services, and working through her trauma. We're so proud of her journey toward healing and restoration.Kerry: That's amazing. We want to get people out of trafficking and help them heal, and that's exactly what Unbound and its survivor advocates are doing by building trust and long-term relationships. For those of you who might not know, this week we have two classes—one for parents and one for students—that have been eye-opening for many. Could you give us a snippet of what to expect?Naomi: Yes. On Wednesday, parents will meet with Laura, who will explain what trafficking looks like, how to recognize it, and what steps to take to keep students safe—practical tools, essentially. Then, on Thursday, Laura will meet with the students at an age-appropriate level to cover similar topics, including red flags and healthy relationships. We always start with parents so they're informed, and then we encourage conversations between parents and students.Kerry: That's excellent. I highly recommend these classes. For anyone concerned, we suggest the content is best for 6th grade and up. And for those wanting to support Unbound financially, when you upgrade from the Free Pass to the VIP Pass, I donate 5% of our profits, and several speakers donate 5% of their commissions, which I match—sometimes making it up to 15%. For anyone wanting to donate directly, where can they find you?Naomi: Our website is unboundow.org. There, you can learn about who we are, what we do, volunteer options, request training for your church or community, and even donate. Also, don't miss our upcoming annual fundraiser, Night of Hope, on March 28th. It's a powerful event with survivors sharing their stories and community partners coming together. Tickets are available on our website.Kerry: That sounds great. Thank you so much, Naomi, for sharing all of this. It's a heavy topic, but your work is so important, and I appreciate you helping to spread the word. Hopefully, more people will understand that this issue is happening right in their backyard.Naomi: Thanks for letting me share, Kerry.Kerry: All right, I'm Kerry Beck with Life Skills Leadership Summit. We'll talk to you next time.

Kirsten Jacobs, MSW, Senior Director of Shared Learning at LeadingAge, shares insights on ageism, diversity, and leadership from her 20+ years in senior living. She talks about the importance of supporting peer-to-peer learning, promoting diversity at the top, and calling out the web of ageism, ableism, and other “isms”, standing in the way of aging well. About Kirsten With over 20 years of experience in older adult housing, services, and long-term care management, Kirsten credits her four late grandparents for her commitment to the field. Her undergraduate thesis project, dedicated to sharing art with older adults, set the stage for an ongoing interest in dementia and holistic wellbeing. Kirsten has held various positions—including administrator and executive director. Currently, she serves on the knowledge team at LeadingAge, a national association of elder-serving organizations. As Senior Director, Shared Learning Initiatives, Kirsten leads and manages the organization's wellness and dementia education strategy and other shared learning activities. Kirsten also guides a diverse set of education initiatives to advance LeadingAge's ageism work and strategic focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Kirsten earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and gerontology certificate from Portland State University (Portland, OR) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in arts administration and a minor in studio art from Scripps College (Claremont, CA). Kirsten lives in her hometown of Portland, OR with her spouse, two kiddos, and goofy dog. Key Takeaways LeadingAge's shared learning approach creates opportunities for senior living providers to learn from each other. There is always wisdom in the room, whether virtual or physical. LeadingAge's LTSS Center at UMass Leaders of Color Network provides career path support and mentorship for persons of color in senior living and aging services. Ageism starts with a youth-obsessed culture that reinforces the message that young is good and old is bad, starting with children's books and movies. By the time we are older, we have these really internalized negative feelings of what it means to grow old. Discrimination is layered. It' difficult to look at one “ism” without acknowledging other layers of oppression compounded with the experience of aging. The web of ageism and ableism is so intertwined it's impossible to separate. Leading Age Leadership Summit April 15th - 17th in Washington, DC. will address the implications of changing demographics and how to better support people in the experience of growing older.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 14, 2023) — A photo captures an instantaneous moment in time — allowing us to preserve a memory. Yet, oddly, the meaning of a photograph is never fixed. Its significance has the ability to change over time. A 4x6 frame holds a celebratory photo of Madona Elias, her mom and fellow graduates. Elias is dressed in a black cap and gown. A golden tassel, signifying the commemorative closing of one chapter and the beginning of another, falls in front of her face — where Elias is also wearing a proud smile. It's 2004 and she has just graduated from the University of Aleppo in Syria. It's a feeling of accomplishment unlike any other — walking across the commencement stage, outstretched hand reaching for that coveted diploma. “Never did I imagine I would have to do this again nearly 20 years later,” Elias said. **** After receiving a degree in clinical mental health, Elias established herself as a mental health specialist and researcher in the global health community — serving several refugee populations (Syrian, Iraqi and Palestinian) worldwide. As a student who often excelled, she continued to chase her desire to be a catalyst for change through education. In 2010, Elias completed a Fellowship in medical anthropology at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom and was nominated three years in a row by the European Union as a key focal researcher from Syria in the RESCAP-MED project. “The main purpose of the project was to build sustainable research capacity for public health and its social determinants in low and middle-income countries in the Mediterranean Region,” she explained. With nearly two decades of experience in the Middle East, Europe and the United States, Elias implemented and oversaw complex research studies and evaluation projects with the World Health Organization (WHO), Catholic Relief Services (Caritas-Jordan) and the European Union. On top of a successful career, Elias was nearing the completion of her doctorate and felt as if her future was falling into place. “My life was much like anyone else's,” she said. “I had a career, a family and a home.” **** In the backdrop, unrest was spreading across the Arab world. When the Syrian war broke out in 2011, the only home Elias had ever known was no longer safe. “I was forced to flee my beloved country.” Elias' international work status allowed her to seek refuge in the U.S. with her 6-year-old daughter. But many family members were left behind. “Even though I escaped the violence, part of my heart remains there,” she said. Elias was forced to start a new life in a new country — where she would ultimately face language barriers, cultural differences and difficulties finding work. While Elias' education and career were not top of mind, she asked herself, “what's next?” That's when a deep uncertainty began to settle in. “English was my third language. And much of my education was not recognized in the U.S.,” Elias said. “I had to spend the next 10 years rebuilding my life from the ground up. And I had to start my career and education again from scratch.” **** Pain has a way of inspiring purpose. Elias remained resilient — determined to rebuild a bright, hopeful future for herself and her daughter. That's when, in 2016, she began working at UK HealthCare's Psychiatric and Behavioral Health Care Clinic in the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky. “I loved the charming campus and learned how highly ranked UK's graduate programs in health care are nationwide,” she said. “While I was working, I enrolled in graduate school to earn a certificate in global health.” Elias continued working full-time to support her family, while earning exemplary grades. In 2019, she graduated with a certificate in global health with a focus on mental health. But that wasn't the end of her educational story or her journey at UK. In 2021, Elias was accepted into the online Master of Social Work (MSW) program in the College of Social Work (CoSW). In the years that followed, she pursued the ultimate balancing act — applying herself in the classroom, in the community and at home. “When choosing to complete my MSW as a single mom, while working two full-time jobs, the college offered me a flexible online program with a high quality of education and mentorship support that encouraged me to follow my dream,” Elias continued. “UK also has a wide array of programs that have allowed me to excel in multidisciplinary studies and foster an environment of cooperative engagement across all colleges, programs and research endeavors.” The rigorous MSW includes options for an advanced program (30 credits) and a regular program (60 credits) to give experienced social workers and/or passionate newcomers the practical skills needed to be effective in the field. The program is open to all undergraduate degrees and may be completed full-time or part-time, in either a hybrid or online format. MSW students also have the option to earn specialized certificates in clinical social work, child welfare, military behavioral health, rural population well-being, integrative behavioral health and substance use disorder, among others. The MSW graduates have the highest clinical licensing pass rates in Kentucky and routinely score above the national average — making those who complete the program uniquely poised to enter a competitive job market. And in so doing, students will positively impact the lives of individuals, groups and communities around the world. Through the CoSW, finally, Elias found a second home — and a second family. “It's been an arduous, lengthy, challenging journey. But I managed to reinvent myself and establish roots again here in Kentucky,” she continued. “My mentors, Kalea Benner, Katherine Crabtree and Peter Polatin, believed in me when I lost faith in myself.” **** What makes a photo powerful? On a sunny December afternoon, Elias finds herself back in front of the camera, beaming with pride as she poses in graduation gown — only this time it is blue, and her daughter, now 18, is standing by her side. It's been 20 years since Elias' first graduation. Now, both photos serve as a symbol — reminding her she discovered new happiness not despite challenges, but because of them. “I worked tirelessly, regardless of my scars of war PTSD and survivor's guilt, to become whole again as a refugee.” Elias is aware she is one among many who are forcibly displaced because of conflict, war or natural disaster. Through her initiative, “Global Mental Health Intervention Program During Crises and Wartime,” she hopes to not only help others like her but affect policy change surrounding mental health services for refugees. As Elias crosses the Commencement stage — for the second time — she hopes her story of resilience encourages others to embrace the best from the worst and keep moving forward. “Life is hard and challenging. But I am a war survivor, and now I can see why I'm still here,” she said. “Unfortunately, war is beyond our control. But refugees should have a better future and need help healing. I still have a mission to help people overcome their PTSD and find a way to live with their scars.” "Behind the Blue" is available on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and Spotify. Unveiling the journey of resilience: This episode is a must-listen for adult survivors of childhood abuse, their supporters, and anyone seeking insight into the transformative power of healing and understanding. In this episode, MommaFoxFire talks with Heather Schulien about Emotional Struggles in Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse. Thank you so much for listening - be sure to like/review/rate/subscribe on your favorite podcast platform - any support is super helpful! In this deeply insightful podcast episode, I am joined by Heather Schulien as she sheds light on the emotional struggles faced by adult survivors of childhood abuse. The conversation delves into the unique challenges folks encounter and offers practical tools and strategies for healing and self-empowerment. We begin by acknowledging the emotional toll that childhood abuse can have on survivors and emphasizes the importance of seeking professional help. Recognizing that therapy may not always be accessible to everyone, Heather points out alternative resources, such as educational videos and books by experts. A significant topic we explore in this discussion is the impact of childhood abuse on self-worth and self-perception. Adult survivors often grapple with feelings of inadequacy and negative self-image, which can hinder their emotional growth and interpersonal relationships. Heather shares an empowering exercise called "Roses and Thorns," a family exercise that fosters open communication and emotional intelligence among family members, helping survivors regain their self-worth and build healthier relationships. Our conversation shifts to the vital role of self-compassion and self-care in the healing process. Heather emphasizes prioritizing well-being and seeking support from others. We encourage survivors to jot down their worries and tasks before bedtime to prevent intrusive thoughts, fostering a more restful sleep. Mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing exercises and guided meditation, are also something that can combat anxiety and promote emotional well-being. This episode touches on the pervasive misconception that individuals should handle their emotional struggles alone. We challenge this belief and urge survivors to seek help, whether through therapy, support groups, or trusted friends and family. Understanding that it is okay to ask for assistance is essential for healing and growth. We wrap up our conversation together by exploring the concept of perfectionism, which often plagues survivors of childhood abuse. Heather emphasizes that striving for perfection is unrealistic and unattainable, leading to further emotional distress. Instead, embracing imperfections and acknowledging one's accomplishments can help survivors build resilience and cultivate a more positive self-image. Throughout the episode, Heather compassionately addresses the unique challenges faced by adult survivors of childhood abuse. She offers practical tools and techniques to help survivors navigate their emotional struggles and embark on a journey of healing and self-empowerment. This conversation serves as an empowering reminder that seeking support and practicing self-compassion are essential steps towards reclaiming emotional well-being and finding inner strength. What are the long-term benefits of raising your rates? Why does raising your rates ultimately help your clients as well as your work-life balance? Many therapists are nervous about raising their rates and so continue to work for the same pay for years. Ultimately, raising your rates can make you a better therapist, and your clients will come to see that. If you know that you want to raise your rates to create time freedom within your work schedule, then this episode is for you. MEET REBECCA For 9 years Rebecca has worked towards helping adults dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma to find their healing path and experience relief, wholeness, and fulfillment. She loves using a depth-therapy approach to support clients' healing process. She has two masters-level clinical counselling degrees: a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy. She is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She is also a HeartHealing® Practitioner and a Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist (C.Hyp™) Learn more about Rebecca on her website, Psychology Today, and LinkedIn profiles. In this episode: Rebecca's Canadian private practice experience Overcoming the initial fear of raising rates The benefits of time freedom How raising rates supports your work Rebecca's Canadian private practice experience Rebecca has been running her private practice for the past seven years. Once she got her Masters of Social Work (MSW), she noticed fewer issues with people leaving therapy because more insurance companies cover social workers. To grow her Canadian private practice, Rebecca invested in good quality services for herself to help her run the business and to provide high-quality service with a professional feel for her clients. Overcoming the initial fear of raising rates A burned-out therapist may struggle to provide the standard of therapy that they aspire to for their clients, let alone their work; long hours for little money can take a huge toll on a therapist's mental and physical health since the work they do is already intensive. Raising your rates is therefore not only beneficial to the work that you do in terms of giving yourself the chance to take off extra hours which a raised rate allows you to do, but it also helps your clients. The benefits of time freedom For most therapists like Rebecca, starting and running a Canadian private practice opens a doorway to experiencing more time freedom because you become your own boss and choose your hours and your work experience. You get to structure your days and weeks how you need to so that you can suit your professional life with your personal one. How raising rates supports your work Of course, not all clients were pleased with the increase in the beginning, but the long-term benefits for both the clients and the therapist outweigh that initial discomfort and change. It is important for you – as a therapist and as a human being – to have a life outside of work that fulfills you so that you can then do what you like to do without dreading each new week. Of course, you can offer a sliding scale, refer out, or talk about accessibility options to clients of yours that you know need the extra support, so that there is a continuation of care. Living in the light is the way Goddest Johnson has broken expectations all her life. Few could guess she spent her early years growing up in the projects of south side Chicago, Illinois. Goddest is one of four children; her mother a single parent suffering from mental illness and severe drug addiction. Life changed dramatically when Goddest's mother was sentenced to life in prison for murder when Goddest was only seven years old. Goddest spent several tumultuous years in the foster care system. By age 15 Goddest had lived in over nine foster homes and 11 group homes. When she was just shy of 16, she decided to seek emancipation and take control of her future. This was in part so she could be the sole guardian of her younger sister. Goddest wanted her sister to know what is possible with determination and focus. Goddest is the first of her siblings to graduate from high school. Tragedy struck again at 21, when Goddest's younger brother received a 44-year prison sentence. Determined to rise above the circumstances of her upbringing, she kept growing, breaking the cycle. Her mission is to give hope to others and provide something to aspire for. Goddest earned a Bachelors from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). This remains one of her proudest accomplishments. Her strong desire to give back and be of service to others, led her to become a nurse. In February 2009, Goddest, along with her younger sister and niece, were involved in a major car accident. The accident left her legally blind, and took the lives of her younger sister and niece. For Goddest to regain her physical strength, she pushed through 4 years of intense physical rehabilitation therapy. Relearning how to walk, talk, and function.Goddest went on to earn two Masters Degrees. Her first from the University of Massachusetts, after which she became a licensed Visual Rehabilitation Therapist. She worked as an instructor at the Lighthouse School for the Blind for four years. Then in 2018, Goddest earned another Master's Degree, this time in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Central Florida. She is an entrepreneur operating two independent businesses. One as an Independent Skin Care Consultant with Rodin and Fields and is also the founder and CEO of F.I.G.H.T. LLC, Faith Is Getting Her Through is a non-profit focused on delivering education, inspiration, and resources to a variety of audiences. Goddest is the first legally blind woman to work or serve in multiple businesses and organizations in Orange County and Orlando, Florida. They include: · Youth Council Chairperson for the Orange County branch of the NAACP.· Vice President of the NFB Community Service Division in 2019 and 2020.· Social Services Case Worker employed with the Salvation Army Social Services Center.· Keynote speaker for the Women of Orlando. In the fall of 2022, Goddest was crowned Miss Blind Diva 2022 – 2023. The Ms. Blind Diva Pageant is a one-of-a-kind event for blind/low vision women. It goes beyond physical characteristics of beauty and places emphasis on contestants' professional accomplishments and the impact made in their community. The Miss Blind Diva Pageant's goal is to empower women with vision loss by giving contestants tools to encourage and cultivate their experiences. This event is a pillar of the Eyes Like Mine community. Goddest's goal as reigning Miss Blind Diva is to ensure next years' event has the resources it needs by supporting fundraising efforts and being an example in leadership. Additionally, a documentary film featuring her journey with the Miss Blind Diva Pageant is currently in production. Once completed, the film will broadcast on several cable networks across the United States.www.fightllc.com

Go up to anyone and the one thing you can count on is that they'll offer up advice if asked. Everyone has their thoughts on what to do to make “this” better or to achieve “that”. Much of the time this advice is valid and made with the best intentions. But it doesn't always work. My guest on this episode turns advice on its head when she advocates the idea of doing nothing. While at first glance this may sound ridiculous or even a waste of time, it makes a lot of sense when you see it the way that psychotherapist and transformational coach Jeanine Thompson sees and practices it. As she tells us:•This is what doing nothing really means•The things that are learned from this practice•How to make your thoughts go away•What she means by ‘911 for the soul'•How she learned to connect with her soul and how you can too If life is moving too fast for you and you feel the need to slow down, you'll want to hear what Jeanine Thompson has to say on this introspective episode of Dream Power Radio.
