Tony Kanaan has enjoyed a long and successful career in motorsports. Indy 500 winner, and series champion, are just a couple of the titles to go along with his long career. Known for always being in great physical condition to race cars, he's also parlayed that into multiple Ironman World Championship Triathlon finishes too! We caught up with TK at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach press day where he filled us in on how excited he is to be driving “Lone Star JR's” (Johnny Rutherford's) Indy-winning McLaren, his preparation going into the weekend with the team's newest replacement driver Theo Pourchaire, and his official role with the team now that he's technically retired from racing. He also gives us a behind-the-scenes story about one of his favorite moments here in Long Beach. Enjoy!

He joins co-host Chase Holden to react to the late breaking news that Juncos Hollinger Racing has parted ways with Agustin Canapino leaving the 78 car vacant ahead of the upcoming race at Gateway. Conor was recently seen testing the car at the St. Louis-based track and he fills listeners in on what the latest developments are for the ride. He also gives some insight to how the test went, which saw him turn the fourth fastest lap of the session behind the three Andretti Global entries. The guys also react to the news that Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will field a fourth car for Yuri Vips at the upcoming event in Portland.Former Arrow McLaren racer and 2023 Formula 2 Champion Théo Pourchaire calls into the show to chat about his stint in the IndyCar Series this year and what is on the horizon in his promising career. Théo gives listeners a better picture of his racing background as he discusses his time spent in the Formula 2 and 3 ranks. Theo Pourchaire is a French Formula 2 champion that was drafted into the Arrow McLaren NTT IndyCar Series team on short notice. He made his debut at the 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (subbing for the injured David Malukas) where he qualified 22nd and finished 11th. We caught up with him at his first race in Long Beach and spoke with him immediately following the Sunday warm-up. He's a really enthusiastic and friendly guy that exudes happiness that few drivers do. A multi-time racing champion, Theo Pourchaire is the real deal. Enjoy! Read More...
The Track Talk Triple-Header is complete! This weekend we watched the conclusion of Formula E season 10, the Hungarian Grand Prix, and Indycar in the streets of Toronto. Of course. Emma tells all about the latter as she was boots on the ground in Toronto chatting with drivers. fans and team members. The Indycar summer break may now be in full swing but that doesn't mean we won't discuss silly season, specifically, whether Theo Pourchaire will remain on the Indycar grid in 2025. Speaking of silly season, Carlos still hasn't decided where he'll be racing, but Haas may no longer be an option... Congratulations to Colton Herta for his win in Toronto, Pascal Wehrlein for his first FE World Championship & McLaren F1 for the most controversial 1-2 in Formula 1 history (probably). Whether you thought Lando or Oscar deserved the win, we'll discuss it all. Follow us on instagram @tracktalk.pod
Tonight on Trackside, Kevin and Curt recap the race at Toronto, and Kevin's rough travel schedule with technical difficulties keeping him seated on his plane for seven hours. They talk about how Kyle Kirkwood was the perfect teammate for Colton Herta this weekend, and how if Colton was second and Kirkwood was first, Herta might have been more aggressive at passing his teammate. They debate on whether the two teammates will be more competitive next time if this situation happens again, and they run through the field to talk about how Ganassi and Penske performed. They talk about the caution debacle that led to a huge pileup, and what IndyCar will do going forward. Later on, Curt and Kevin talk about how Alex Palou has pulled away in the championship standings, with a 48-point cushion going into the last few races of the season. Curt talks about how good Palou has been on ovals, and how consistent Palou has been with always getting top 5s. They talk about how it would require Palou to finish 18th or worse in two races for him to lose the championship. To round out the first hour, Kevin reads some listener tweets, and how Scott Dixon is Mr. IndyCar. He also answers a question about splitting up qualifying for cleaner laps. In the second hour of the show, the two talk about the Brickyard 400 and Kyle Larson's win, and the controversy surrounding the finish. Conor Daly and Marco Andretti competed in the Brickyard weekend, and Kevin and Curt talk about how they performed. The two also provide an update on Alexander Rossi's injury, and when he will be back in the car. They discuss the options McLaren could have had outside of Theo Pourchaire for this weekend, and some drama around Pourchaire's comments about McLaren. They also talk about Oliver Askew being on-site but not racing, and why they chose Pourchaire. Later in the second hour, they talk about O'Ward and Palou during qualifying, and how Palou was penalized for impeding Pato's lap. Kevin encourages the idea of single car qualifying, and how it would benefit teams and drivers. Curt brings up how that could cause issues timing wise, and prefers three groups. Kevin ends the show talking about what they missed, and reading tweets, including predicting the Simpson caution. He also answers a question about Fox making Iowa go down to one race. On The Grid today we look back at a weekend full of tension at Barcelona but not a lot of racing along with the F2, F3 and F1 Academy news. Plus, an awful lot of racing as the Indycars pounded round the dramatic Laguna Seca Raceway Rain delays for both IMSA sportscars and the NASCAR boys who, wait for it, for the first time, raced on an oval with wet tyres! And we come home for a lovely weekend in the sunshine as the Touring Cars entertain at Oulton where the bodywork controversy rolls on … But first the news. The F1 seat saga rolls on as Alpine now emerge as a third choice for Sainz. While Sauber academy man Theo Pourchaire goes through more heartbreak and the Japanese Superformula becomes an all-Japanese affair.
This week's episode: Sports Business Journal Motorsports Reporter Adam Stern joins to discuss IndyCar moving to Fox Sports in 2025, future series schedules, the streaming element, its impact on Honda and the potential broadcast team. Plus, we discuss Theo Pourchaire out and Nolan Siegel in for the McLaren no. 6 entry, Agustin Canapino returning to Juncos Hollinger for the rest of the season, and we preview this weekend's Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.
IndyCar may have had the week off, but that didn't stop the news machine from turning the motorsports world on its ear and the Speed Street boys have the latest scoop. Conor Daly chats with his co-host Chase Holden about catching the 24 Hour of Le Mans coverage over the weekend, where many IndyCar drivers were in action. Friend of the show Nolan Siegel brought home a victory in the LMP2 class at the historic race, and found himself in the middle of the latest IndyCar silly season happenings, as the announcement was made that he would be replacing Theo Pourchaire in the Arrow-McLaren number-6 for the rest of the 2024 season. Conor expresses to Chase the immense pressure that young drivers are facing in what is shaping up to be a volatile driver employment climate, where many drivers have been let go after being unable to perform in a short amount of time.Road America winner Will Power joins the show to discuss how his Penske number-12 team converted some recent solid finishes to a well earned victory in Elkhart Lake. Will had a front row seat to the calamity that broke out in the first turn of the race, which he attributes to passing ability becoming increasingly difficult this year and the importance of top-10 finishes. Will suggests the limitation of push to pass in cars that are about to be overtaken, which would lead to more strategy on the shorter courses that IndyCar visits. Conor also inquires about Will's utilization of overcutting his teammates and how that helped him come out on top during the final stretch of the race. The guys all look ahead to the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey and speculate what differences fans will see in the race this year compared to last year's season finale at the 2.238 mile long road course.
Tonight on Trackside, Curt Cavin and Kevin Lee talk about the massive TV deal IndyCar landed with Fox Sports, and how every single race will be on Network TV. We also talk about Nolan Siegal taking over Theo Pourchaire's seat. Kevin and Curt talks about how Siegel has talent, but he also has a budget behind him that can benefit McLaren, especially with his dad's connections to Fortune 500 companies. Kevin talks about how business is important in motorsports, and Siegel's connections are perfect for the team. Later in the the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about why McLaren has had such controversy with retaining drivers, and how easy it is to get fired in racing, and how drivers can make it difficult for teams to get rid of them. Kevin talks about the return of Agustin Canapino, and why he wasn't ready for Road America. They also touch on Canapino admitting he did not handle the situation with Pourchaire correctly. To round out the first hour, Kevin heads to the Xbox to read some questions sent to him by listeners, including the musical chairs at McLaren. In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt delve more into the broadcasting schedule with Fox in 2025. They delve into how the 500 will be covered on Fox, and the fact that the season ends before the NFL starts. They talk about changes in the schedule, including moving race dates, and Thermal becoming a points race. Curt talks about how much clearer of a path Fox has for summer sports than NBC has, and the streaming component of the series. Indy NXT will also be on television, airing on FS1, which will build popularity for the series. Kevin also talks about the likelihood of his working for Fox next season. Later in the second hour, Kevin and Curt talk about how Kanaan played a role in helping David Malukas at McLaren and answered some information on if Texas would return to the schedule. Kevin talks about why the IndyCar schedule is essentially the same as last year. Kevin ends the show recapping what they missed during the rest of the show. Sorry this one's a little late folks, Dre was caught up with the day job, but allow yourself to catch up with what we thought about one of the most chaotic races in recent times, the 2024 Detroit Grand Prix! It was THE chaotic race of 2024. Eight cautions, 12 driving penalties handed out (Four of which to Will Power, whose race position looked like an EKG monitor), and FORTY-SEVEN per cent of the race ran under yellow, including 20 straight in the middle of a damp Detroit where everyone was caught out by the bumpy braking point into Turn 3 on Chambers Street. Yikes. In the end, Scott Dixon kept a cool head and did what he does best - save fuel brilliantly when a race broke out at the end and lead a Honda 1-2-3-4 in Chevrolet's back yard, and the gang try to make sense of one of the craziest IndyCar races in modern times, including a Penske implosion! But there was also two major PR nightmare the series delivered that we had to discuss - Santino Ferrucci having a shoving match with Kyle Kirkwood and dropping a homophobic remark when interviewed about it (Right on the first day of Pride Month). Then Agustin Canapino and the first part of his verbal tirade after Theo Pourchaire hit him during the race, and Ricardo Juncos calls him a "Son of a thousand whores" on the team radio. There'll be more on this next week, but see where the story began. All that and more on another Motorsport101!
Phil and Josh return for E223 of the GSP to discuss all the craziness at Detroit, Gateway and elsewhere in the world of motorsports. In Detroit, Honda powered IndyCar's seemed to dominate in Chevy's house with the podium swept by the Ohio/California gang. Scott Dixon put on another fuel saving doctoral dissertation but had heat from fellow Kiwi and teammate Marcus Armstrong and former teammate Marcus Ericsson at the end. Issues throughout the field and eight cautions in the first 73 laps marred what basically became a survival test. Augustin Canapino and the Argentinian fanbase are out of order after threatening Theo Pourchaire. When the drivers are wishing and hoping to go back to Belle Isle, the track is bad. NASCAR Cup and Trucks were at Gateway while the XFinity drivers were at Portland for road course action. Austin Cindric was the beneficiary of issues for both Christopher Bell and teammate Ryan Blaney, taking his first win since winning the 2022 Daytona 500. This was not a great day for the points contenders in general, but there's still plenty of races left. Stewart-Haas Racing will cease to exist at the end of 2024, after Tony and Gene made that announcement to the team after the 600. Phil and Josh give their thoughts at the end of this organization along with where some of the key people will go. With Snoreoma upcoming, that will be Faux last telecast of 2024. Other than Harvick and Mike Joy, is there anything redeeming? Shane Van Gisbergen became a NASCAR XFinity winner at Portland, passing dominant presence Justin Allgaier late in the race. All three Kaulig cars finished in the top 10, and SVG locks himself into the playoffs. Another person who is locked into the playoffs is Corey Heim after a fourth win of the Truck Series regular season. Outside of Heim, Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes and Nick Sanchez stand as the only drivers that might have a chance at Phoenix. The GSP Roundup will recap IMSA at Detroit, NHRA at Epping, MotoGP/Moto2 at Mugello along with major rider news and WRC Rally Italy before previewing Indy NXT at Road America. Phil and Josh make their picks and discuss the F1 Canadian Grand Prix, NASCAR Cup and XFinity at Snoreoma and IndyCar at Road America. Josh lets us know his exploits in iRacing on his Sim Segment prior to show close.
Tonight on Trackside, we recap a crazy Detroit Grand Prix. Curt and Kevin recap the Grand Prix and talk about their reaction to it. They also talk about Kyle Larson's waiver finally being granted by NASCAR, and controversy with Agustin Canapino and Theo Pourchaire. Kevin believes that racing is a financial business, and even if the track is not perfect, there is serious financial gain to be had from racing at this location. He believes that having one wreck-filled race a year is not all that bad for teams, and fans like chaos. Later in the the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about Scott Dixon. We hear about how Alex Palou's season has not been as dominant as it had been in previous years, and now Scott Dixon is a challenger for the championship win. They talk about Scott Dixon approaching AJ Foyt's win record, and if he can surpass it in his career. To round out the first hour, Kevin answers some listener questions, like lack of fans at oval races, Ed Carpenter swapping cars, and more. In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about Flavor Flav, and his being Will Power's hype man. Kevin recounts a story of Power at qualifying in Detroit, and how Flav made sure he was in the camera shot during an interview to promote his brand. We talk about Will Power's comments during the race about race control and answer other listener questions. They also talk about David Malukas and what team he could come back and race for this season and next season, and Tom Blomqvist being removed from Meyer-Shank. They also talk about the conflict with Santino Ferrucci and Kyle Kirkwood. Later in the second hour, Kevin and Curt talk about the controversy with Agustin Canapino and Theo Pourchaire, and the threats Pourchaire received for crashing with Canapino during the race. We hear about IndyCar's stance on the issue, what Canapino had to say, and how Juncos is taking the controversy, and how hard it would be to regulate these types of threats. Kevin ends the show paying homage to racing legend Parnelli Jones. It was announced that Jones passed during the show, and Kevin talks about his accomplishments, and we hear a statement from PJ Jones, Parnelli's son. It's a bumper episode of The Race IndyCar Podcast as Theo Pourchaire discusses his new deal with McLaren, and points leader Colton Herta is also interviewed. Pourchaire will do all of the remaining IndyCar races for McLaren this season apart from the Indy 500, replacing David Malukas who was released after a hand injury. Pourchaire discusses missing out on an F1 seat (so far at least), the crazy month where he went from “sitting at home” to becoming a full time IndyCar driver, how he's adapting to American culture, and more on his oval test at Gateway earlier this week. And in our second interview, Colton Herta discusses being the IndyCar championship leader for the first time. He outlines how that's influencing his approach, the impact of Andretti dropping to three cars for 2024, and what it was like to drive his dad's 1998 Reynard at Laguna Seca last year. And just like that, the 2023 F1 Season is over, and Max Verstappen put the cherry on top of a dominant season with his 19th win of 2023, cementing quite possibly the most dominant season in the history of Formula 1. We break down all his records, as well as soak in just how ridiculous it has all been. We talk about the fight for second in the Constructors as Charles Leclerc went full galaxy brain and tried to use Sergio Perez as a pick in the fight for the silver medal, with George Russell saving his best season for last! And we talk about the F1 talent bottleneck situation as Theo Pourchaire finally won the F2 title, but seemingly has nowhere to go as Alfa Romeo have kept Zhou Guanyu on, and only Logan Sargeant's seat is open. With it being the third year running that the F2 Champ doesn't make the grid immediately, just how big an issue is it? Let's close out F1 in 2023 on Motorsport101!

Graham and Luke return on after a quiet week in the F1 world, giving a good chance to talk about all sorts of racing categories. Starting off, we talk about Formula 2's action in Imola, including Roy Nissany's big chance/bottle, Theo Pourchaire's fortunate break to take him back to the top of the F2 table, and an underwhelming (so far) F2 season/emerging title fight (2:15). We talked about our excitement over the current F3 grid and the much more entertaining title fight emerging there (19:50). We then preview the Spanish Grand Prix, a weekend that will likely be dictated by the abundance of upgrades up-and-down the grid as many teams bring their first big upgrades of the year, a big weekend ahead for Carlos Sainz at home, Ferrari's potential comeback in Spain, worries surrounding Mercedes and plenty more ahead of a busy weekend at Spain (27:16). A brief chat about the historic cars at Monaco, as well as the pain (60:56). And, to finish some shite talk and embarrassing knowledge of the calendar, apparently (63:56).
In this episode we discuss the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. Ayumu Iwasa, Ayumu Iwasa, Ayumu Iwasa and I guess Theo Pourchaire.

Welcome to major Championship flashpoint #4 and this one, got really ugly. It's the Corniche Clash, at the new Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and we had a lot to talk about here. We had Max Verstappen blow a golden chance to take pole position on Saturday before a mistake had him hit the wall on the final corner, gift-wrapping pole to Lewis Hamilton. We had a ridiculous F2 weekend with cars heading to the grid BACKWARDS, and poor Theo Pourchaire and Enzo Fittipaldi sent to hospital after a 72G impact in a 9 minute feature race. And it barely made the Top 5 in ridiculous dialogue to come from this race. Nope, it was all going to plan until Mick Schumacher put it in the wall early on. 2 Red Flags, 2 Standing Restarts, 3 Virtual Safety Cars and 3 debatable incidents from Max Verstappen later... God help us all. We had Max cut Turn 1 twice to keep position. Michael Masi cutting a PLEA DEAL to balance the books, only for Max to do it again and then get accused of brake checking Hamilton into the final corner in a desperation move to keep the DRS advantage. We try to make sense of it all on the show, including questions as to whether it was an intentional brake check at all. The role the stewards played in the messy weekend, including Masi's plea deal, and the 10-second penalty Max took after the flag. We also talk the circuit, a surprising factor in the imported marshals and some of the tracks obvious slapdash design errors that played a role in how this race was managed. We also talk Mercedes' grand opening and grand closing of the Kingspan partnership they announced during the weekend, with obvious controversy given their association with the Grenfell Tower fire of 2017, and Lewis Hamilton being an innocent bystander as many within the media held him accountable for something that had next to nothing to do with him. And finally, we guess who wins the 2021 World Championship as we head to the newly redesigned Abu Dhabi for the season finale, as well as play tribute to the late great, Sir Frank Williams. Rest easy, you legend. See you next week for the finale.
Welcome to episode 38 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast! Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us the latest roundup of motorsport events from around the World! In this episode, we look at Formula 2, Aussie Supercars and S5000 Single seaters, but we kick off with the Formula 1 race in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia! Potentially the most insane race we've ever seen in Formula 1, would you agree? An incredible drive from both Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes, and Max Verstappen in his Red Bull as the battle continues for the Championship! The opening corner at Jeddah caused a few problems, Tiff did call it last week! Verstappen had an amazing qualifying, although only qualified in 3rd place after not completing his lap. In the race, Mick Schumacher crashed in his Haas car, resulting in a red flag for the first time. Following the restart, Verstappen gained advantage through overtaking Hamilton and then coming off the track, leaving Hamilton to take avoiding action and allowing Esteban Ocon to move into 2nd place. The stewards intervened at this point, Red Bull the option to take 3rd place behind Ocon and Hamilton, or face a penalty. Red Bull chose to put Max into 3rd place. Then we had a 2nd red flag caused by Nikita Mazepin and Sergio Perez, resulting in both drivers being retired from the race. Verstappen came back to overtake Hamilton and Ocon, resulting in his team asking him to give the place back to Hamilton. This however turned into Hamilton crashing into the back of Verstappen! A crazy turn of events! Thankfully, the front wing of Hamilton's car had minimal damage. After further trading positions between Hamilton and Verstappen, Verstappen received a 5 second penalty from the stewards, awarding Hamilton the win. Verstappen took 2nd place, with Bottas just sneaking past Ocon on the final straight to snatch 3rd place. Verstappen then left the podium without celebrating. Onto Abu Dhabi for a very exciting season finale! Staying in Saudi Arabia, Formula 2 brought a lot of excitement too! Oscar Piastri edges closer to his championship victory following his fourth win of the season in the second sprint race. Following a red flag in F2, Theo Pourchaire's car stalled on the grid, and Enzo Fittipaldi hit the back of his car, resulting in both drivers being taken to hospital. We have since heard that both drivers are ok. The feature race was then shortened to 20 minutes, and was cut even shorter when the race was declared over following a second red flag. Moving down-under to Australia, where the Aussie Supercars were at Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit , Bathurst, NSW. It was a win for Chaz Mostert, in his Holden Commodore ZB, with Cameron Waters in his Ford Mustang in 2nd. Next weekend, we have the Formula 1 final coming in Abu Dhabi and we see the battle for the championship win between Lewis and Max! Who will win?
Formula 2 started its second half of its season at the famed Temple of Speed at Monza. Oscar Piastri, Guanyu Zhou and Theo Pourchaire - three drivers many are talking about due to their respective Formula 1 prospects - all starred during the weekend. The weekend's action and reaction, and IndyCar prospects for the F2 drivers and Dan Ticktum's Williams exit, are the main topics on this week's Formula Scout Podcast. In addition, there is a small rant about how the GB3 Championship may be clinched.
Audi or Porsche - which one of the VW brands could we expect to see in F1 2025? Will the units have more electric over ICE power? Will we see more teams joining the sport? Will Formula 1 continue to be 'road relevant'? Will we continue to see new experiments in the sporting format - reverse grids, maybe? And no, it's not early to talk about F1 2025 and there's a reason why! Subscribe to our newsletter! It's free, informative, insightful and visually appealing. You can read more and sign up. In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, automotive journalist Rahul Kapoor joins Soumil and Kunal to discuss what 'formula' to expect in F1 2025. This episode has four parts - technical, sporting, talent & teams being the four areas of focus for F1 2025. will LAT, MAZ and STR continue racing in F1 2025? What about ALO - will he retire after he's swapped helmets with all drivers? The next generation of racers could include - Dennis Hauger, Theo Pourchaire & who else? Will the Mazepins have finally bought Haas? Might not be as works teams, but could new car manufacturers join Formula 1 as a power unit supplier? Will technology transfer between leading Motorsport championships be the decisive factor? And finally, we expect track limits and time penalties to still be around. Tune in as we try peep into the not-so-distant future! (Season 2021, Episode 42) Follow our hosts on Twitter: Soumil Arora and Kunal Shah Music courtesy: Lucien Byfieldt Image courtesy: Mercedes
Craig Woollard and Bethonie Waring discuss at length a highly eventful Formula 2 weekend from the streets of Monte Carlo, with Theo Pourchaire breaking records, tennis references, a Virtuosi Racing 1-2, as well as controversy at the rear of the grid. In addition, they also talk about Formula Regional European's visit to the Principality and British Formula 3's season-opener at Brands Hatch.

Leider keine Frau in diesem Jahr, was wir sehr schade finden. I honestly don't know how I have managed to secure another incredible guest for today's episode of the ChatterBox Podcast, but talking with Theo was just as much fun as I thought it would be! Thank you so much to Theo for giving up his time to chat to me, and Pauline for putting the whole thing together! In today's episode, I had such a captivating talk with a man who finished runner-up in Formula 3 in 2020, earning him the call-up to Formula 2 with ART this year! We spoke about how he got into motor racing in go-karts, how he managed to move up the motorsports ladder so quickly, the key differences between Formula 2 and Formula 3, and answering some of your fan questions too. I hope you enjoy listening to our little natter just as much as I enjoyed recording it!
