An American country music star has used artificial intelligence to make music again, years after suffering a stroke. Randy Travis is 65 years old. He was a popular country music performer in the 1980s and 1990s and won several Grammy awards during his career. But in 2013, he went to the hospital with a heart problem and later had a stroke. The stroke made it hard for Travis to speak. He has not made music since his stroke – until now. On May 3, Travis released a new song with the help of artificial intelligence, or AI. It is called Where That Came From. Nashville, Tennessee songwriters Scotty Emerick and John Scott Sherrill wrote the song. Cris Lacy is co-president of Warner Music Nashville, the company that produces Travis' music. Lacy said she contacted Travis' wife Mary and asked “What if we could take Randy's voice and recreate it using AI?” “We were all over that, so we were so excited,” Mary Travis said about the chance to hear her husband's voice in a new song. “All I ever wanted since the day of the stroke was to hear that voice again.” “我们都沉浸在这一切之中,所以我们非常兴奋,”玛丽·特拉维斯谈到有机会在一首新歌中听到她丈夫的声音时说道。 “自从中风那天起,我唯一想要的就是再次听到那个声音。” Lacy talked with computer programmers in London about making an AI system that could recreate Travis' voice. They produced two models. One model used 12 vocal samples from Travis' career and the other used 42 samples. There was a lot of material to work with; the singer's first big record, Storms of Life, came out in 1985. Travis' long-time music producer is Kyle Lehning. He said Where That Came From was a song that fit Travis' way of singing. When Travis was at the top of his career, he was known for a more traditional kind of country music. It was a contrast to the pop-country songs that were popular in the late 1980s. 他说《Where That Came From》是一首适合特拉维斯演唱方式的歌曲。 Lehning talked about the process of making the song. First, another singer recorded the song in what is known as a “demo.” Then the AI system analyzed the song and applied Travis' voice to it. “I really wish somebody had been here with a camera,” Lehning said about the experience of watching the computer apply Travis' voice to the song. “And it was stunning, to me, how good it was … right off the bat.” “我真的希望有人带着相机来到这里,”莱宁谈到观看电脑将特拉维斯的声音应用到歌曲中的经历时说道。 “对我来说,这真是太棒了……立刻就变得多么好。”Lehning said some parts of the sound created by the computer were “not authentic to Randy's performance.” Lehning worked with Casey Wood, a recording engineer who knew Travis well, to get it right. The two music professionals used sound parts from both vocal models. They made changes to the speed of some of the sounds. Lehning said Travis is “a laid-back singer,” so they had to slow down some parts. They wanted to keep an “old soul quality” in Travis' voice. Lehning said they were able to improve on the AI version. And Mary Travis said the final version of her husband's song is much different than what happens when a computer programmer uses AI to create something without permission. She called the producers' and engineers' work on the project “the human element.” She added that her husband had a thoughtful look on his face when he first heard the song. “I think he went through every emotion there was in those three minutes of just hearing his voice again,” Mary Travis said.
Country music icon Randy Travis has regained his voice with the help of AI technology after suffering a stroke in 2013. Travis's record label, Warner Music Nashville, collaborated with producer Kyle Lehning to create a unique AI system that blended Travis's original vocal recordings with a donated voice from country singer James DuPre. The resulting song, titled "Where That Came From," marked Travis's post-stroke debut and has been released to radio stations and streaming platforms. While there are uncertainties about Travis's future music career, his return to the airwaves brings hope and inspiration to fans worldwide, highlighting the power of music and the resilience of the human spirit. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message

From The Judds to the Dixie Chicks and the Carter Family itself, country music's history is steeped in and rife with family duos, bandsand groups. Warner Music Nashville sister duo Walker Countyadds to that ‘family tradition' with blood-thick harmonies and solidmusicianship. Born and raised in rural Sulphur Springs, Indiana, sistersIvy Dene (lead vocals) and Sophie Dawn (percussion and harmony)have been performing almost as long as they can remember. Sophie'shard-driving rhythms and Ivy's strutting, soulful vocals create a uniqueblend of country music that was inspired by the sounds of middleAmerica they grew up on. And now, having spent years honing theirskills, Walker County is ready to carry on the heritage of countrymusic with their modern-traditional blend. The 2020 CMT Listen Upand Next Women of Country artists started rolling out new music inthe fall, showcasing both their range and true-to-themselves style infeisty rocker “Shovel,” wistful reflection “Drag It Out” and upbeatode to loving relationships “Someone's Someone.” They're kickingoff 2021 with the bright pop country of “Bits & Pieces,” their major label debut single, as they prepare for a breakout year.
In this episode. The guys sit down with Country Music Artist and Songwriter Charlie Worsham. Since the release of his 2013 debut, Rubberband, Worsham has established himself as one of Nashville's most beloved and well-respected artists. In addition to his own music, he's a frequent collaborator including work with Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Brandy Clark, Luke Combs, Vince Gill, Kacey Musgraves, Marty Stuart, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban among several others. He also earned a nomination for Specialty Instrument Player of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards and has toured extensively across the world including numerous shows performing as of part of Old Crow Medicine Show as well as dates with Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Kenny Rogers, Lee Ann Womack, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. June 25, 2021—Acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician Charlie Worsham will release his anticipated new EP, Sugarcane, July 16 via Warner Music Nashville with new song, “Half Drunk,” debuting today. Watch/share the official music video here https://youtu.be/CXr16dro-vAOf the track, Worsham shares, “‘Half Drunk' tells the story of the first time I told my wife I loved her. I'd just been fired by my publisher and my manager had quit management that week, but I was singing that day in one of my favorite rooms in all the world, the Station Inn. Powered by Yazoo Pale Ale, applause, and a sense that this girl I was crazy about might just be more special and more permanent than the whole music industry thing, I turned to Kristen, said those three magic words, and she said ‘I love you too.' I hope this song inspires a lot of drunken making out and maybe a few last-time-saying-I-love-you-for-the-first-time moments.” Bourbons in this podcastEarly Times Bottled In Bond - 100 ProofLongbranch - 86 proofWild Turkey Rare Breed Rye - 112.2 proofDickle 8 Year Bourbon - 90 ProofDickle 9 Year Single Barrel Select - 103 Proof

¡Lamento que este episodio sea tan tarde! Como dicen en inglés, "I bit off more than I can chew" (o,el que mucho abarca poco aprieta). Robyn Ottolini describes herself as the Eminem of country music. No joke. In 2020, Ottolini's career took off with the viral TikTok hit “F-150”. Since then, she signed with Warner Music Nashville, recently announced a brand new tour and has been releasing music non stop. Despite recently making her debut trip to Music City, she is one of Nashville most talked about rising artists.
John Zaldonis speaks with Kate Myers and Victoria Mason of Warner Music Nashville to discuss the ways the pandemic affected the music industry from their perspective, how they use data analytics to inform their decisions, and the collaborative approach they use in their creative process. Episode Eight - Shy Carter This week Todd and Tater are excited to hang with producer/songwriter/artist Shy Carter. His journey to Music City is anything but boring. From producing for rapper Nelly, writing for Rob Thomas, having his first country number one with Sugarland and then putting out his own music via Warner Music Nashville. Oh and we can't forget writing multiple number one hits with his buddy Kane Brown (Good As You) (Heaven). His debut single to radio, "Good Love" is such a great message and needs to be heard. Take this wild ride with us! @radiotodd @taterq104 @shycarterofficial
“My ex drove an F-150 and I f’ing hate that truck,” laughs Ottolini. “You might think that ‘F-150’ is just a truck song, but this isn’t about any ol’ truck. It’s about trying to move on and get strong, until you see that one thing that brings you back to the pain. Nothing does that more for me than his white, Ford F-150.” Ottolini continued: “You’re going to get to know the real me in the first 30 seconds of listening to any of my songs and if you love it, that’s cool. If you don’t love it, that’s cool too. Either way, country music has made me who I am today. It’s my safe place to land and it’s also the thing that pushes me further out of my comfort zone than I ever thought I could go. It doesn’t even feel real yet that I’ve signed a record deal with Warner Music Nashville to be honest, but if you’re telling me it’s real, I’ll trust you guys.” Inspired by artists like Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves and Sam Hunt, she’s already released two EPs independently, including The I’m Not Always Hilarious EP last year, and was a Rising Star Award nominee at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards in 2019. Ottolini is managed by Mark Schroor & Erik Fintelman from Workshop Music Group
This week we are joined by "The King of Nashville," Peter Strickland. Making Elephants Fly | Conversations with High Octane Leaders, Dreamers, & Creatives
On this episode of Making Elephants Fly, Terry sits down for the third time with Leigh Holt. This time the conversation focuses on the high cost of success and why saying no to poorly timed amazing opportunities is what opens the doors to perfectly timed life and career-changing opportunities. Terry and Leigh unpack what happens when opportunities are met with an abundance mindset and you really believe that the best is yet to come. With an impressive array of professional experience, Leigh Holt continually draws from her entertainment, sports, music, marketing and sponsorship backgrounds in her current role as an artist manager and founder & owner of maddjett. When working with Leigh, partners find a strong focus on strategy. Leigh is unafraid to ask questions to best understand the culture of the business and the project at hand. By pushing the envelope and building strong relationships, Leigh creates win-win scenarios for her clients and connections. An entrepreneur at heart, Leigh is never satisfied with a sub-par performance. She is most energized when developing an experience or “moment” that resonates in the consumer’s mind and drives revenue for her clients. After 10 years in the music industry helping others to achieve success, Leigh decided to take her fate into her own hands. In October of 2013, Leigh left her role as the VP of Strategic Partnerships with Warner Music Nashville to launch maddjett (named after her sons, Maddox and Jett.) Her past clients have included Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour, Hunter Hayes, Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend, Pepsi MidAmerica, PixMob, Harper Collins Christian Publishers, Sony Music Nashville, the Museum of the Bible and more. She leads the maddjett team that manages two time Grammy Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle, and handles marketing and consulting services for top entertainers. Apart from business, those who know Leigh recognize her undeniable love (in no particular order) for: her husband, her two sweet boys - Jett & Maddox and the Georgia Bulldogs. Join Leigh and Terry as they talk about what happens when you say no and make the things that matter most be the rudder that guides your decisions. A great talk with country music star Cowboy Troy Coleman about his life on the road, balancing work/life commitments, family life and diversification in the music/entertainment business. “It’s kind of that gypsy lifestyle” A six-foot five-inch, hick-hop artist is going to get a response, and Cowboy Troy is okay with the strong reactions and endless questions. “I have crazy intentions,” he says with a grin. But anyone who thinks that the Cowboy Troy experience ends there, doubts his country credentials, or is inclined to dismiss him as a novelty, is in for quite a surprise. “People have different paths,” Troy says. “I’m not going to apologize for my music, because this is who I am. I didn’t just wake up one morning, put on a cowboy hat, and get a gig rapping on a country album. You don’t do something for 15 years on a lark.” Cowboy Troy rapped his way into the country mainstream on the first cut of Big & Rich’s 2004 debut Horse Of A Different Color. And while his admonition to “let go of all your preconceived notions” certainly wasn’t the first time elements of rap had been incorporated into country, it was the boldest statement yet. Explaining the journey that placed Troy Coleman at this unlikely intersection is as complicated as explaining the evolution of American culture. At the same time it’s as simple as the story of a kid from Texas who did what all kids do–he soaked up the world around him. Troy spent his childhood in Ft. Worth, where his dad took him to rodeos and stock shows. “We’d listen to Willie Nelson, Jerry Reed, Charlie Daniels, Kenny Rogers, and other artists who were getting airplay on the adult contemporary stations at that time,” Troy says. “I didn’t realize it was country music, I just knew it was what my parents listened to before they went to work in the morning.” Troy spent his high school years in Dallas and collegiate years in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas. In addition to solo releases [Loco Motive (2005), Black in the Saddle (2007), and Demolition Mission (2009)], Troy has spent time on TV. He’s been a part of the ESPN College Gameday video intro along with Big & Rich since the 2006 football season. He also served as co-host for USA Network’s Nashville Star in 2006 and 2007. Most recently Troy performed on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars on the final episode of 2012 Spring season. His appearance in Big & Rich’s Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy video, as well as his own I Play Chicken With the Train and Hick Chick videos remind viewers of his “party starter” nature. Troy knows he’s challenging conventional thinking about what country music is, but expects that his music will find its place. “I’ve never been like everybody else and it wouldn’t do me any good to try,” he says. “Some people are going to love it and some are going to hate it, which is probably how it should be because it means they’re talking.” The way Troy sees it, “innovation is a tradition, not a trend or secondary option…authenticity comes in the commitment.” Troy calls Warner Music Nashville his recording home. His latest installment of music, “King of Clubs” was released March 11, 2014. He released his 7th studio album this year called “Laugh With Me”. Troy speaks extensively about his calculated plan to diversify, as the industry constantly changes. Troy also talks about the work/life balances of traveling while being a husband and father of triplets. Troy is one of the good guys and I know he appreciates your follows, comments and likes on his various social media pages.

Walker County are a country music duo consisting of sisters Ivy and Sophie Walker (with their Dad playing lead guitar). The sisters join Country Music Made Me to discuss their musical upbringing, their early introduction to performing when they busked on the street during a family vacation to Nashville, and how that one moment led to a permanent move to Nashville a few years later. Ivy and Sophie tell host Brendan Osborne about their highly supportive grandparents, one of whom had a heart attack at their show without anyone knowing because they didn't want to interrupt the performance, what it's like to have their Dad play lead guitar in their band, and what life has been like since singing a record deal with Warner Music Nashville in 2014. Finally, the sisters talk about the last 2 years since releasing their lead single "The Hamptons" and what's in store for the future.
