Pour suivre Youn Sun Nah :  Site officiel  / YouTube / Facebook / Insta    Titres diffusés : - Extraits de l'album Waking World ( Arts Music - 2022) : « Don't Get Me Wrong » ; « Lost Vegas » ; « Heart of a woman » ; « My mother » ; « Waking world ». - Extraits de l'album Immersion (Arts Music - 2019) : « In my heart » ; « Mystic River » ; « Sans toi » ; « Mercy mercy me (the ecology) » ; « Asturias ». Plusieurs chansons deviendront des tubes : « Edelweiss », « Do-Re-Mi », « The Sound of Music » et « My Favorite Things ».

My guest today is Dr. Jeremy Perigo from Dordt University.  He is the Director of Campus Ministries & Worship Arts and an associate professor at Dordt.  He is also a visiting lecturer at London School of Theology where he previously spent six years as head of theology, music, and worship programs.  Jeremy did his undergrad at Purdue University, then went on to do a Masters in Practical Theology at Regent University and a Doctorate at Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.   My relationship with Jeremy goes back nearly 15 years as we both worked in deeply Charismatic contexts on things like 24-7 worship and prayer. Like me, Jeremy found that the experiential and mystical dimensions of Charismatic & Pentecostal spirituality fueled a deep desire to know God and understand his world via the life of the mind in more academic theology. In today's conversation, we discuss the link between our "guiding stories," the arts, music, film, & the liturgical practice of both the Church and the broader cultures we inhabit. How does the story we believe to be true about God & reality shape our practices of worship, but also how can our practices of worship shape the story we believe to be true about God & reality? ___________________________ TAGS: Jeremy Perigo, Lesslie Newbigin, Christ and Culture, theology of worship, liturgy, Cultural Liturgies, James K.A. To say that Artie Kamiya has dedicated his life to his profession would be a massive understatement. This man has had a massive impact not only on the students who were lucky enough to have him as their teacher, but indirectly tens of thousands of children and youth who's teachers were lucky enough to meet him. Artie could very easily be considered the “Godfather of #PhysEd.” Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Artie was overweight as an elementary school child, and he was often subjected to many of the negative aspects of traditional physical education. However, he was fortunate to have been encouraged through a strong junior high physical education program and slowly became interested in the sport of gymnastics. He competed in high school, collegiate level (Los Angeles City College, Cal State LA), and at the 1972 National NCAA Gymnastics Championships on the rings. Upon receiving a Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) degree from the University of North Carolina, he worked as an elementary physical education teacher for Wake County Public Schools (Raleigh, NC). While in this position, he was able to become involved in curriculum writing, presenting, and other leadership activities. In 1983, he was hired by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a Physical Education Consultant. In 1996, he was promoted to the Section Chief for Arts and Healthful Living. In this position, he directed a group of 11 professionals representing the Arts (Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Theatre Arts) and Healthful Living (Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Driver Education). From 2001-2005, he was the Senior Administrator for K-12 Healthful Living Education for Wake County Schools. Artie was recognized in 2004 as the National Physical Education Administrator of the Year. He has been called one of the “nation's leading experts for K-12 health and physical education.” He is the President & Founder of the Great Activities Publishing Company, a company known for their innovative K-12 PE publications, services, and workshops. His work has appeared on numerous ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox TV affiliates, as well as on National Public Radio and in USA Today. He retired from public service in 2005, but continued to follow his passion as a health and physical education advocate through his work within the Great Activities Publishing Company. The shift to pandemic pedagogy was especially tough for arts and music educators who suddenly found themselves orchestrating bands and directing ceramics lessons through Zoom. As campuses reopen and the school system turns its attention to so-called “learning loss,” what's the future of our already underfunded and understaffed arts education programs? This week we're joined by Benwar Shepard, a veteran music teacher and founder of Bigger Than Us (BTU) Arts, to explore arts education during and after the pandemic. But first, Jeff and Manuel take a look at recent headlines in education including a call for more SEL to address mass shootings and a plan to eliminate a major standardized exam for teaching candidates. ***Please consider subscribing to our YouTube channel! https://youtube.com/AllOfTheAbove *** AGENDA 0:00 - Welcome! 7:44 - Can SEL stop mass shootings? 22:59 - Lawmakers weigh eliminating teaching exam 38:55 - Arts education during and after the pandemic 1:15:15 - Candles from the Hart! Music venues and theatres in Auckland can fling their doors open again, now that the city is back to Covid-19 alert level 1. They've endured more than six months of uncertainty, the inability to bring in large international acts, and for long periods of time empty seats and closed doors. While they're happy to be reopening, some say the looming threat of sliding up and down the alert levels casts a long shadow of uncertainty over the future of the arts sector. Jean Bell reports.

A Life In and Out of Jazz” (Crown Archetype, 2017). M.A.P. Welcome to episode 96 of the Therapy Chat Podcast with host Laura Reagan, LCSW-C. My guest this week is Maya Benattar. Maya is a music psychotherapist, but you might also call her a mindfulness mentor, a creativity coach, or a big fan of slowing down.  Maya helps women who long to experience true clarity and confidence in themselves and their lives, but are held back by anxiety or fear. She supports them in slowing down and exploring their lives creatively so they can make significant changes and discover the strong, confident woman they can be.  She knows from her own life and many years of helping other women that putting yourself first and asking for help can kick up a lot of fear and shame – but she strongly believes that slowing down and looking inside can help you become strong, passionate, sensitive, and brave.  As a trained and experienced therapist she has a Masters degree from NYU and is an NYS licensed psychotherapist), she knows a lot about how to slow down your hectic life, explore your dreams and thoughts through mindfulness, play and more (adults need to play too!), and develop new ways of coping creatively.  Resources  http://mayabenattar.com   Please support our sponsor, TherapyNotes!
