She returned to the UN in 2019 and again spoke at two UN events this year. She has spoken on Capitol Hill during a Day of Advocacy designed to bring tech leaders together in one place to discuss issues related to women in technology and then to meet with congressional representatives and Senator's offices.
If Black Rock City were a ship, Charlie Dolman would be its skipper. The SS BRC is already taking shape in the dry docks of our collective effort, and at some point later this summer it will slide into the dusty seas of northern Nevada. As the event operations director, Charlie leads a crew of leaders responsible for pretty much all aspects of city infrastructure, and for planning for just about every operational contingency, from fire and rain to, who knows, a downpour of frogs. On fire. If you see him on playa he's the fast-moving, soft-spoken guy with three radios, a cell phone and a pager (yes, a pager!). In this rare interview he sits still long enough to talk with Stuart about the people making BRC greener, less commodified, and more inclusive. He also passes Stuart's quiz about being a Brit in the US, and defends marmite as a comestible.Burning Man Project Staff: Charlie DolmanBurning Man Project's CEO Introduces Charlie Dolman (2012)

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is a big deal. It's part equipment trade show - part dirt world family reunion IN LAS VEGAS and it's anything but a breeze to organize. The event is put on by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers every 3 years and it takes every bit of that time in between to put all of the pieces together. Fortunately, Dana Wuesthoff (Show Director) and Caroline Roberts (Director of Event Operations) were kind enough to take an hour off and give us the inside scoop on the event's history and future. If you haven't been able to tell, Aaron is something of a fanboy of heavy equipment and especially CONEXPO. When he was young and dumb, he actually snuck into the event (this is a bad idea, everyone!), but at the 2020 edition of the event, he flew most of the BuildWitt team out to experience it. So, just in case it's not clear in the interview, Aaron was kiiiiinda excited to get to ask Dana and Caroline for all of the juicy details of what it takes to put CONEXPO on. They talk midnight equipment parades down the Vegas strip, how many bathrooms you have to plan for, and how 2023's event will take up at least 2.7 million square feet!
