Rusty just happened to be in town when Bruno Senna jetted in to do some night driving at Sydney Motorsport Park as a part of his role with McLaren Automotive. The pair chatted over coffee at the McLaren Sydney dealership about Bruno's time in F1, his legendary Uncle - the late Ayrton Senna - the rise of Aussie Oscar Piastri and the brutal past few weeks for Daniel Ricciardo. Plus, the intense scrutiny he endured during his own career as well as a decade dedicated to McLaren on the automotive side which keeps the Senna name connected to the famous marque. Bruno shares a rarely known personal story on Ayrton and what we might expect from the new Netflix series which is due out next month. This special bonus ep is a beauty. Fire it up…..you won't be disappointed! Brazilian Formula One Driver Bruno Senna
How do you develop such expertise that you are able to perform at so high level under so many obstacles and pressures as Sebastian Vettel did in the 2012 Brazil GP? Sebastian was leading the championship 13 points ahead of Alonso before the race. In the first lap, Sebastian collided with Bruno Senna and spun, whilst Alonso made his way up in the pack, looking like the title favourite then at the wet conditions. Sebastian seemed to do all the right things after the disastrous start. How is this possible? How is one able to "do the right thing" in chaotic and complex situations? Why deliberate experience is better for developing expertise than deliberate practice? In this episode I got the chance to talk with a long-standing colleague, great coach and academic, Dr. Neil Buchanan. We discussed most of the time about expertise - what it is and how to develop it, and brought about some practical examples from the corporate and sport world - including Sebastians´ race in 2012. For a more detailed record of what happened in that race, please listen to the man himself in this podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li5ahzPxMmIDr. Neil Buchanan did his PhD in expertise and talent development. He is currently director for the performance psychology programme at University of Edinburgh. Neil also works as a performance coach for Hintsa Performance and has his own consultancy Overmind. Neil is a family man with wife and a daughter, who enjoys hill walks in beautiful Scotland. The specific topics we covered include narratives and their roles in our lives & expertise, routine expertise vs. adaptive expertise, psychological flexibility, fusing and defusing with thoughts and emotions, naturalistic decision making and more. Enjoy the episode!

Bring Back V10s heads into the V8 era to revisit the most recent win for Williams, taken in the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix when the unforgettable Pastor Maldonado defeated home hero Fernando Alonso for victory. Edd Straw and Karun Chandhok join host Glenn Freeman to look back on a race that came during the eventful start to the 2012 season, which would eventually result in seven different drivers winning the first seven races. We look at why Williams was so quick that weekend and why it failed to repeat that form during the rest of the year, how well Maldonado drove, plus if his reputation as a crash-prone pay driver was fair. Plus we hear what it was like to be inside the Williams garage when it caught fire after the race. There's also talk about the penalty that cost Lewis Hamilton pole position, how his frustration with the team led to speculation about his future, his future team Mercedes falling out with Bernie Ecclestone in the early stages of its rise to the top, Michael Schumacher's crash with Bruno Senna that cost him pole for the next race in Monaco, plus how close Mark Webber came to signing for Ferrari for 2013, and how it could have been Kimi Raikkonen driving for Williams in 2012 as Maldonado's team-mate.ASK US ANYTHING: Submit your questions for our series finale using #BringBackV10s on Twitter or email bringbackv10s@the-race.com Hosted on Acast. It's been an unpredictable few weeks so we decided to make some predictions. We try and name the 2023 F1 grid, something not even the teams are capable of doing, so it's a wild ride. It's the second time we've done one of these (check out our 2021 grid prediction linked below if you want a good chuckle) and last time Bruno Senna got a shoutout. In this episode Herta, Sargeant and Pourchaire get namedropped alongside... Stoffel Vandoorne?!? So make sure you keep watching, let us know which of us goes the most rogue and hope you enjoy! 2021 Grid Prediction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1qTJ4kwK5E Twitter: twitter.com/WingingItF1 Nigel: twitter.com/NigelCJourno Freddie: twitter.com/FredCoates1999 Adam: twitter.com/AdamDickinson01 Thumbnail: © F1 Intro: © Red Bull Content Pool See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
