Dois festivais de cinema na França destacam o cinema brasileiro neste mês de março. Um é o Reflets du cinema brésilien, que acontece em Mayenne, no oeste da França. O segundo, abrangendo produções do cinema ibérico e latino-americano, acontece em Villeurbanne, no sudeste do país.   O festival de Mayenne traz mais de 40 longas, entre ficções, animações, documentários e filmes experimentais, além de curtas. “A ideia foi explorar o cinema brasileiro através de diferentes regiões, pois o Brasil é quase um continente. E, portanto, trazer à tona a voz dos cineastas. Ou seja, mostrar os diferentes cinemas brasileiros, tentar fazer um inventário da produção atual, com toda modéstia, mostrando a qualidade e a diversidade do cinema brasileiro hoje”, explica Wilfried Jude, diretor artístico da associação Atmosphèeres 53, organizadora do festival. O filme de estreia, na semana passada em Mayenne, foi "Medida Provisória", uma ficção distópica assinada por Lázaro Ramos. A história se passa num Rio de Janeiro do futuro, sob um regime autoritário, quando um decreto obriga os negros brasileiros a voltar para a África.  “Escolhi o filme porque o tema ressoa muito na França e no mundo contemporâneo. ‘Medida Provisória' deve ser mostrado porque tem roteiro muito forte, explorando os perigos que podem estar à espreita em qualquer lugar. Gostamos de mostrar filmes que sejam combativos e que denunciem os excessos autoritários por parte de certos governos”, explica Jude. “Todos os Mortos”, longa dirigido por Caetano Gotardo e Marcos Dutra, vai ser o filme de encerramento do festival, no próximo domingo (19). A trama acontece no Brasil pouco após a abolição da escravidão, numa reflexão social sobre estigmas que permanecem até hoje.  Clássicos Entre os 40 longas, há clássicos seminais como “Cabra Marcado para Morrer”, de Eduardo Coutinho, “Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol”, de Glauber Rocha, além de “Pixote, a lei do mais fraco”, de Hector Babenco, e “Iracema, Uma Transa Amazônica”, de Jorge Bodanzky e Orlando Senna.  “Eu queria mostrar filmes também para o cinéfilo ou mesmo para quem quer conhecer um pouco mais”, explica o programador. “Porque o cinema brasileiro contemporâneo também é herdeiro desses grandes cineastas brasileiros que trabalharam dos anos 1960 aos anos 1980”, acrescenta.  Combate"Chuva é cantoria na aldeia dos mortos", de João Salaviza e Renée Nader Messora, ganhou o prêmio da crítica da mostra Um Certo Olhar de 2018, em Cannes. Representantes da tribo Krahô foram os protagonistas do filme, uma alegoria sobre a preservação de tradições e ingerência exterior. A RFI conversou com os diretores e os atores indígenas em Cannes.   “Rio de Vozes”, dos documentaristas Andrea Santana e Jean-Pierre Duret, está na seleção dedicada a filmes com temáticas de rios e florestas. “É um filme sobre os ribeirinhos e ribeirinhas do Rio São Francisco”, explica Santana. “São pessoas que lutam diariamente para viver de forma digna no lugar que, acima de tudo, elas amam. O Rio São Francisco é a vida deles, é como uma mãe. É o rio que dá a água que eles bebem, os peixes que eles comem, que molha as terras onde cultivam o que precisam para viver. Eles sabem que se perderem o rio, vão perder tudo”, explicou a cineasta à RFI, durante o Cinélatino de Toulouse. Já o festival ibérico e latino de Villeurbanne, entre mais de 40 longas, traz os filmes brasileiros “Deserto Particular”, de Aly Muritiba, “Fogaréu”, de Flávia Neves, “Paloma”, de Marcelo Gomes, “Regra 34”, de Júlia Murat, e “Tinnitus”, de Gregório Graziosi. O evento acontece até o dia 28 de março.

Un ospedale sul fronte di guerra, la Prima Guerra Mondiale, per curare i militari feriti. La particolarità? Ci lavorano solo donne. Donne sono i chirurghi, i medici, le infermiere, il personale. È una realtà realmente esistita e creata nel 1914 da due inglesi: Flora Murrey, anestesista, e Louisa Garret Anderson, chirurga. In "Come vento cucito alla terra" (Longanesi) Ilaria Tuti ripercorre questa storia creando un mix fra fatti reali e trama di fantasia. La protagonista è Caterina Hill, detta Cate, madre italiana e padre inglese, laureata in medicina, ma costretta a esercitare solo nei bassifondi di Londra perché all'epoca le donne medico erano osteggiate. Riceve da Flora e Louisa la proposta di andare in Francia per creare la prima unità chirurgica gestita da donne. All'inizio i pazienti sono restii ad accettare le cure mediche delle donne e sono aggressivi, come Alexander. Poi finiranno per comprendere come queste donne abbiano salvato loro la vita. Non solo quella fisica, ma anche quella mentale attraverso un'attività considerata esclusivamente femminile: il ricamo. Nella seconda parte parliamo di "Il profilo dell'altra" (e/o), opera prima di Irene Graziosi. Un romanzo sul mondo degli youtuber e dei content creator (guai a chiamarli influencer!) scritto con sguardo lucido su una realtà che l'autrice conosce bene visto che è co-fondatrice, insieme a Sofia Viscardi, del progetto "Venti". La protagonista è Maia, 26 anni, che dopo la morte della sorella si trasferisce con il fidanzato da Parigi a Milano. Joe Kaloyanides Graziosi, from the Boston area, has done extensive research on regional dance in Greece and among Greek communities in the U.S. Drawn to Greek music and dance from a young age Joe was an enthusiastic participant in the Greek church dance and New England area community music scene and danced and taught in the Boston area amateur dance groups “Helios Dancers” and “Meraklides” in the latter 1970s after returning from a semester abroad program in Greece in 1975 where he did dance research under the guidance of the noted folklorist Ted Petrides, concentrating at the time on the dance traditions of the Greeks of Anatolia. He has taught throughout the world for community groups and at major folk dance camps, including the Balkan Music and Dance Workshops since 1982, and has taught regularly with Greek performing groups throughout North America. He was a co- founder of New York's Greek American Folklore Society (GAFS) along with its director, Paul Ginis, where he taught throughout the decade of the 80s. Joe has taught and introduced people to Greek dance in Taiwan, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and England and has taught regularly in Japan since 1990 where he will be returning this summer of 2022.. He has served as judge and advisor for the west coast Greek Orthodox (San Francisco Metropolis) Folk Dance Festival (FDF) since 1984, as well as judge and advisor for the Atlanta Metropolis' Hellenic Dance Festival (HDF) for 20 odd years. He is, along with Ahmet Luleci, co-founder of the annual World Music & Dance Camp, now in Iroquois Springs, NY and in its 26 the anniversary year, 2022. He was co-director and organizer of the 1982 Greek Music Tour sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, The Ethnic Folk Arts Center of NY and the New York State Council for the Arts which brought together major exponents of regional traditional folk music from both Greece and the Greek American communities. In conjunction, he was co-author and co-editor of the accompanying booklet “Greek Music Tour” and consultant for archival recordings of participating musicians. He is also a contributing author to the 2019 book “Greek Music in America” edited by Tina Bucavalas and published by the University Press of Mississippi. During the 1990s and early 2000s Joe was co-organizer and co-host, along with former FDF judge John Lulias, of several tours to Greece, with a concentration on local culture, cuisine, music and dance. Since the onset of covid he has been teaching a weekly on line Greek folk dance class via zoom. Joe produces CD compilations of hard to find regional folk dance music. What if Your Life was Happening FOR YOU and Not TO YOU?   People are struggling, hurting, and wondering...when will things change?   What I've really noticed more than ever lately is that people are getting Stuck inside their own head because of idle time or isolation they are experiencing...   We all struggle when we are: -unproductive rather than hustling -spectator rather than player (social) -reflective rather than grateful   Find the pattern to when you are getting stuck and “Pattern Interrupt”.  -time of day, around people, or cyclical.    Best thing you can do right off the bat is to...   REMEMBER...you attract what you focus on the most.  NOTE...law of attraction is a negative as much as it is a positive in attracting things into your life. This is great news because it confirms universal laws. They are not random. They are science and time tested.    So ultimately I want to ask you a question to consider...no personal, financial or business strategies today. Just a simple question.    What if everything happening was happening for a REASON...AND, follow me here...that reason has brought you to this point in your life ti Benefit you...Set You Up To Start Creating an Amazing Life of Success, Fulfillment and Happiness.    What IF it all Happened for a Reason... What if all the HARD WORK was to... -help you Prepare ...you can't gain muscle without lifting the weight. It's not about the Stress that helps you grow. It's about the recovery.    What if all the DISAPPOINTMENT was to... -help you Appreciate ...it's when times are hard that you can appreciate when they are good.  An author once wrote, if life were easy it wouldn't be hard...do ya get that?   What if all the PAIN was to... -increase your Pleasure ...I know some of you are trying to run or launch a business but are dealing with divorce, anxiety, depression...and many other difficult things. I know how you feel. I've been there with divorce, financial struggle, depression. Seems likeThat stuff doesn't really ever go away.  But if you will simply see the good in your life, you will quickly realize that the pain is what gives you awareness of the pleasure and greatness you are and will be experiencing in life. It is with pain that we can truly appreciate and feel the joy.    What if all the STRUGGLE was to  -make you Stronger ...I know it's tough sometimes. It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you are grinding for your life...for your business...for your family... Like Les brown says the good book says...”tough times have not come to stay they have come to pass”. Believe it.  Remember that the Amazing Butterfly would surely die if it wasn't for the struggle it endured coming out of the cocoon...   What if your hard ENVIRONMENT was to  -give you the ADVANTAGE ...dean Graziosi write a great book called the Underdog Advantage. He made some great points by saying that the Underdog can Act Fast and Improve Quickly.  The Underdog is Relentlessly Resourceful and Self Educated.  The Underdog doesn't need to worry about what other people think.  Do you realize that being behind the right ball...under the gun…with your back against the wall can give you a massive Advantage. You just need to shift your perspective.   So Here is What I am Asking you…   What if you choose to believe Life is Happening “For You” and NOT “To You”?   And Please Understand that Ultimately the SECRET is not "the answer" to the question.   Listen to me carefully now…The Secret is How You CHOOSE TO answer this question...   Will you Choose to Believe in the Possibility...or will you choose to doubt?   Will you Choose to Believe in Miracles…or will you question your circumstances?   Will you CHOOSE to Believe Your Time is Now...or will u keep waiting for a Sign, a lucky break, an opportunity to Knock on your door?   I HOPE YOU CHOOSE TO BELIEVE that… the Hard Work was to Prepare you the Disappointment was to Help You Appreciate the Pain was to Increase Your Pleasure the Struggle was to give you Strength   the Environment was your Advantage...   I hope You Choose to Believe... I hope You Choose to Act... I hope You Choose to... UNLEASH YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL   I believe in you. You were given talents that are unique to you. You were given you challenges for a reason.
