Everyone that I talked to that has a successful career, that has a successful life, personally, every one of those people are excited about the opportunities they have in the future." - Tim Elliott "The successful people see tomorrow as a possibility. They see their future as being bright and they see their future full of opportunity." - Tim Elliott "We have the ability for us as humans to develop a new habit that's completely unrelated to strength or whatever. If we just do it enough, we're going to formulate a habit. It can be inside of our strengths or outside of our strengths." - Davin Marceau "Our mindset is more of who we are. I think our mindset and the way we approach life is a bit of our tactical application of things that can make us successful." - Davin Marceau "It's more important to figure out who you are and who you aren't than it is for someone else to think who you are. If you're good with who you are as a person, and you own that, then that leads to success as an individual, as a person, and as a professional." - Tim Elliott "Very successful people typically know who they are and they've understood their strengths and their weaknesses. They know how to make the most of their strengths and how to try to diminish their weaknesses." - Tim Elliott "Most very successful people are very confident people. And I think confidence doesn't necessarily come as a byproduct of success as it does of figuring out who you are. Once we better understand who we are and who we aren't, we're able to be ourselves and we're able to be happy and we can be confident in who we are." - Tim Elliott Visit Access EFM: Website Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Click here to listen with Access Points Podcast

It becomes everything to us. And when there's a chink in the armor or the family is not solid, that's where that weight comes from." - Tim Elliot "I think work is how we provide, but our family is the why behind what it is that we do." - Davin Marceau "I think people can be high-performers as long as they resolve those things personally and family over time." - Tim Elliot "Know your people. If something is off, don't automatically assume that they're not good at their job anymore. Sit down and ask. You're going to get some answers to some questions and you're going to help people get through some really dark times." - Davin Marceau "If we don't grow as humans, we don't get better. It hurts us at home and it hurts us professionally. To see people succeed and see people get through things personally, also helps them professionally." - Tim Elliot "The only way we gain wisdom is through adversity." - Tim Elliot "Going through that adversity is what brings your family together, it's what makes you a better professional. Finding financial freedom is the starting point, but then you have to decide how to use that freedom to live the life you want. Hear insights about: How Tim sold 2500 homes in 15 years during his real estate career, and how he made major life changes at the age of 40 after finding financial freedom How Tim overcame a difficult childhood and discovered the life he could create for himself through real estate Why allowing your ego to drive your career can be harmful, and why shelving your ego and focusing on serving others is the key to true success Why Tim hired an escrow coordinator during his second year in business to “buy himself a life” and put his financial freedom to work Tim describes the mission and purpose of his non-profit organization, “1 Life Fully Lived”, and he shares tools and resources his organization has created Why Tim chose each of his top two life mottos: “always look for win-wins” and “I'm not a victim” Why Tim focused on building a business that was efficient, effective and productive, and how it freed him to create win-wins and be present in his life Why it is important to find a place in your life where you can “fit in and thrive”, and why reinventing yourself and finding new goals can be life-changing and fulfilling Finding Financial Freedom Becoming a real estate agent can be a powerful platform for finding financial freedom… but it can also be easy to fall into the trap of always wanting more, always pushing yourself, and never actually tapping into the freedom you've created. This week's guest on Pursuing Freedom is Tim Rhode, a successful author who sold more than 2,500 homes in 15 years. At age 40, Tim realized that he wanted “off the hamster wheel”, and because of hard work and smart investments, he was able to retire and shift his focus to creating and living the life of his dreams. During our conversation, Tim shares how he decided to leave a thriving career and instead create a non-profit organization focused on lifting others up, and he discusses setting new and different goals for himself that allow him to really thrive and follow his passions! Recognizing When It's Time for Change As Tim explained, he built an extraordinary career selling real estate. His income grew exponentially, but he made minimal changes to his lifestyle and instead focused on saving and investing his money and growing his wealth. Then, by the time Tim was 40 years old, he realized that he was ready to stop grinding and follow other things he felt passionately about. Thanks to his hard work and frugal lifestyle, he was in the financial position to break out of the grind. However, Tim knew that he wanted more from his life than just relaxing or having fun all day, so he focused on building his non-profit organization “1 Life Fully Lived”, to help people who were just starting out on their path or who were overcoming tough circumstances get a leg up in life. Tim Rhode shows us that it's important to recognize when we need to make big changes in our lives, and that being courageous and stepping into those changes can bring real rewards. Leveraging Your Freedom Many of us got started in real estate because we wanted to be able to create a specific life for ourselves, and finding financial freedom was supposed to be the key to that life. But somewhere along the path it can be easy to get caught up in the competitive, workaholic lifestyle and lose track of your goals. It can be really empowering to take a step back and consider what is really important to you, then make changes to your life that give you greater alignment with your priorities. You've worked so hard in finding financial freedom, but you must not forget to take advantage of that freedom. If you'd like to learn more about Tim Rhode, you can reach out to him at tim@timrhode.com. And to learn about his non-profit 1 Life Fully Lived or to find out how you can help them in their mission to help people create a roadmap for living their best life, please visit their website at https://1lifefullylived.org/. About Tim Rhode Tim would tell you that he got off to a slow start. After growing up in the rural town of Portola in Northern California and barely graduating high school, Tim Rhode found himself at the age of 25 working as a grocery clerk with two young children to provide for. He eventually found his “niche” selling real estate; and from 1986 to 2000, he sold over 2,500 homes and from 1997 to 2006 he invested in over 100 properties. Tim focused on saving money, keeping his expenses low, and playing solid “financial defense” which allowed him to basically retire, and he was financially free at the age of 40. Not wanting to play, hike, bike or ski all day, Tim threw his energy into his true passion: helping people thrive and live their most fulfilling life. He founded the nonprofit 1Life Fully Lived to help people of all ages gain the tools and skills they need to thrive and also co-founded GoBundance, a high-level mastermind, with David Osborn, Pat Hiban and Mike McCarthy to help healthy, wealthy, generous people lead epic lives. We have a women's tribe now! Tim has also authored numerous books and has been featured on a variety of podcasts and media outlets. He now lives near his children in the High Sierras with his wife and dog. On this episode, we spoke with Tim Keen. Tim is a LA-based marketer (originally from Melbourne, Australia, with a stint in Montreal) whose previous day job was with a touring rock band. He learned the ropes of performance marketing (the main focus of this episode) by dropshipping sex toys and bootleg Harry Potter merch. He then leveraged that experience to get his first-ever full-time job at the age of 28, which consisted of running Google Ads at MuteSix. After scaling 3 clients to 10x revenue, in 6 months, he got back into the music industry with a stint at Roland, working on digital transformation, with their Global Marketing Team. Then he accidentally co-founded a digital marketing agency, called Loop Club, and the rest is history. Loop Club has grown 10x in the year and is poised to replicate that success in 2021. 60% of Loop Club's clients have received additional funding or been acquired in the last year, and 90% have increased their revenue by at least 100%. Loop works with high-growth eCommerce brands whose values they can get behind, and are deeply committed to diversity & inclusion within Loop Club's own organization. Loop Club also dabbles in progressive politics: having ran paid media for the Nithya Raman For City Council campaign in Los Angeles, which got more votes than any city council campaign in Los Angeles history. On this episode you will hear about: How Tim went from selling a band to selling sex toys online to a full time marketing firm Why the experience, being a part of an indie band, was great What "performance marketing" is and what it isn't How you can use performance marketing in your business to scale Why performance marketing is essential to scaling a brand How performance marketing helps you to find what is actually driving real results (and how you can optimize that to scale) Why moving to the United States motivated Tim to become an entrepreneur The practical best practices that you should apply to your business (so that you can build up faster) Why measuring and optimizing your marketing plan is often a better focus for you than spending your money on marketing Why asking your clients for testimonials is of critical importance to building your business and marketing plan The reasons that you must niche your services, being tiny and specific, so that you can be the best at that offering What it was like, starting a marketing agency, during the COVID-19 Pandemic Production Credits: The Self Made Strategies Podcast is a SoftStix Productions LLC jawn. It becomes more difficult to be supportive when the bad times roll in. WALK AWAY ASKING YOURSELF Was I born at an early age??? (just kidding) How do I model constructive conflict? Where am I looking for happiness? Could it be more freeing to stop looking for happiness and be okay with not being happy all the time? Is happiness always my goal? If so, why? Do I give myself permission to be unhappy? And the reason why is, for those of you that aren't entrepreneurs and business owners, you have to understand that we're some of the loneliest people in the world. And the reason why is that we can't ever truly trust anybody. “ - Tim "When you feel stale, what typically happens is you've reached a point where you as a business owner or an entrepreneur feel like you're not growing, you don't feel like you're getting smarter, and you don't feel like you're getting better." - Tim "A lot of things that are in your head, they’re giving you problems and the reason you're stale is because the way you're thinking." - Tim "There were several people in my life throughout the lifecycle of our organization that I've reached out that have really helped me and helped me put things in perspective." -Tim "Most of the problems we have as humans are what's between our ears. And if you're a business owner, an entrepreneur, a lot of that staleness happens because you feel like things aren't exciting or you feel like things aren't going the way that you want them to." - Tim "There's nothing that you can do to rejuvenate the passion and the love you have for what you do better than go talk to some customers and ask them what you can do better and how you can make your product, your solution better and tell them, thank you." "Feeling of staleness is a feeling. Learn how to change it. And the way you do that is talk to someone who's been through it, go see some customers and think through where you really are." - Tim "If you're the business owner, you're the entrepreneur, fighting fires is something you've learned to do really well, but it's not productive. Get someone that can help you do that and go out there to lead." Visit Access EFM: Website Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Click here to listen with Access Points Podcast

They are the owners of Avvino, a contemporary American restaurant in Rochester New York boasting locally sourced ingredients and an eclectic, rotating seasonal menu. On our podcast, Tim and Janine share their stories and talk about how they found their passion in the restaurant industry. They also explain how their focus on food, service, and atmosphere combined with a highly-curated wine program helped them navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Food, Service, and Atmosphere Tim and Janine had vastly different introductions and pathways into the restaurant industry, but they found common ground in its opportunities to express creativity and passion. Creativity drives everything they do, and they are constantly looking for new ways to make their restaurant stand out from the competition. The triple threat of food, service, and atmosphere that we talked about is extremely important because many restaurants only check one or two of the boxes. Tim and Janine bring different perspectives to the table because of their unique backgrounds and experiences, and their complementary skillsets keep Avvino on the cutting-edge of all three categories. Overcoming Restrictions with Creativity In addition to helping Tim and Janine stay competitive when it counts, their approach to creativity also enables them to adapt to the ever-changing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. These restrictions are changing on what seems like a daily basis, and you have to be quick on your feet to stay compliant. Avvino revamped its menu to be takeout friendly, and takeout volume went from 1 order to almost 100 orders a night. They also found new ways to bring the hospitality experience to their customers at home by adding a personal touch to each order. As we finally put 2020 behind us, It is important to recognize the level of problem-solving restaurants like Avvino displayed. Restaurants that survived because of their creativity and quick thinking are going to bring a lot more to the table as the country begins to reopen. Target Market Insights: Multifamily Real Estate Marketing Tips
Over the last few years, short term rentals grew rapidly in popularity. There were investors who bought properties with the sole intent of using them for Airbnb and short term stays. Some even leased apartments from other owners, just to list them on Airbnb, a strategy known as Airbnb arbitrage. However, when COVID hit, the party stopped. Many of those investors went bankrupt after being on the hook for rents across an entire portfolio, with no income due to travel restrictions. Tourism and travel have taken a hit and it makes the future of short-term rentals a bit murky. To get some clarity, we interviewed Tim Hubbard and asked him, are short term rentals still a good investment? Tim is the founder of Midtown Stays and has successfully accommodated over 15,000 guests. He also helps others invest in short term rentals through his Rest Methods platform. In today’s show, we discuss the changing face of short-term rentals and what he has seen in his business, along with the industry. He shares where the strategy still makes sense and covers market research tips. In addition, he highlights how he runs his business remotely for anyone looking to emulate some of the success he has seen. Subscribe to How To Trade ItThe 70s and 80s were the pinnacle of market letters. Tim was fascinated by them. He’d read the market news from people like Joe Granville and Stan Weinstein. At the time, People thought technical analysis was hocus-pocus—the focus was on the fundamentals. But Tim started to learn about technical analysis from Granville and Weinstein and he couldn’t go back. He got hired as the VP of Options at another firm in the 80s. He started an internal market letter at that firm, with a reach of 200–300 brokers nationwide. They wanted to hear what he had to say. His market news started as a message on an answering machine. Professor Kenneth Stanley is currently a research science manager at OpenAI in San Fransisco. We've Been dreaming about getting Kenneth on the show since the very begininning of Machine Learning Street Talk. Some of you might recall that our first ever show was on the enhanced POET paper, of course Kenneth had his hands all over it. He's been cited over 16000 times, his most popular paper with over 3K citations was the NEAT algorithm. His interests are neuroevolution, open-endedness, NNs, artificial life, and AI. He invented the concept of novelty search with no clearly defined objective. His key idea is that there is a tyranny of objectives prevailing in every aspect of our lives, society and indeed our algorithms. Crucially, these objectives produce convergent behaviour and thinking and distract us from discovering stepping stones which will lead to greatness. He thinks that this monotonic objective obsession, this idea that we need to continue to improve benchmarks every year is dangerous. He wrote about this in detail in his recent book "greatness can not be planned" which will be the main topic of discussion in the show. We also cover his ideas on open endedness in machine learning. 00:00:00 Intro to Kenneth 00:01:16 Show structure disclaimer 00:04:16 Passionate discussion 00:06:26 WHy greatness cant be planned and the tyranny of objectives 00:14:40 Chinese Finger Trap 00:16:28 Perverse Incentives and feedback loops 00:18:17 Deception 00:23:29 Maze example 00:24:44 How can we define curiosity or interestingness 00:26:59 Open endedness 00:33:01 ICML 2019 and Yannic, POET, first MSLST 00:36:17 evolutionary algorithms++ 00:43:18 POET, the first MLST 00:45:39 A lesson to GOFAI people 00:48:46 Machine Learning -- the great stagnation 00:54:34 Actual scientific successes are usually luck, and against the odds -- Biontech 00:56:21 Picbreeder and NEAT 01:10:47 How Tim applies these ideas to his life and why he runs MLST 01:14:58 Keith Skit about UCF 01:15:13 Main show kick off 01:18:02 Why does Kenneth value serindipitous exploration so much 01:24:10 Scientific support for Keneths ideas in normal life 01:27:12 We should drop objectives to achieve them. His ability to look at the upside potential of their product and successfully leading a team of great leaders, ACCESS has evolved into the global leader in healthcare electronic forms technologies Enjoy! Favorite Quote "It's not about how much we grow, I just want to make sure that we are growing because when you stop growing, then I feel like something's wrong. And so, it's not about the number to me. It's about, are we still doing the right things? Are we still finding new clients that find value in what we're doing?" - Tim Elliot In This Episode 1:35 - Tim's advice to kids coming out of college 2:25 - His definition of growth 4:09 - How Tim handled the growing phase of his business 8:15 - The problems that come up from the addiction of growth 10:46 - The pitfall of setting arbitrary numbers to measure growth 16:50 - Great analogy in the growth process of a business Visit Access EFM: Website Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Click here to listen with Access Points Podcast
Use Thought Leadership Content to Niche Down What You Will Learn: How Tim’s career started as a successful journalist before breaking into thought leadership content and marketing How Tim defines low-quality content, and why good content feels specific, narrowly focused, and personal to the target audience Why Tim and the team at Layup Content decided to only focus on the financial services and fintech industries How niching down and keeping a tight focus has helped Tim build his business and reach his ideal clients Why Tim believes his focus on the financial services and fintech niches has made it easier to get referrals from existing clients based on his depth of expertise How Tim started in thought leadership content with a book, and how the book led to other projects and opportunities Why it is important for your content to stay on voice and reflect who you are and what you truly believe How Tim coaches his clients to understand what unique voice they have to share, and what key skills business owners need to master to become great thought leaders What critical lesson Tim learned from a past mentor that made a lasting impression that still resonates in Tim’s business today Why Tim believes creative work comes down to having a plan and knowing where you want to go, and then executing on your plan Niching Down with Thought Leadership Content Maintaining a tight focus on a specific niche, rather than limiting your opportunities as you might expect, actually has the opposite effect — often opening new doors to opportunity by allowing you to demonstrate your expertise within your chosen niche. Tim Sprinkle knows this lesson well — he is the founder and Chief Strategist of Layup Content, a thought leadership and content marketing agency that specifically focuses on the financial services and fintech industries. Tim has leveraged his expertise and experience into a powerful platform for creating thought leadership content for his specific audience. The effect on his business has been profound. In this episode of Onward Nation, Tim shares how creating the right thought leadership content for the financial services and fintech niches has helped him reach his ideal clients and build out his business. Thought leadership content: Where do you start? The path to becoming a thought leader can feel overwhelming. Where do you start? What is your niche? Are you smart enough? But I have found most people can get started down the path with minimal effort if they can learn to start creating the right content. Thought leadership content comes in many, many different forms, but, the best content has a few things in common. 1) It is focused. After all, you can’t be a thought leader in everything. 2) It is deep. This is why books, research projects, and podcasts are popular places to start. 3) You are prepared to back them up with more. One piece of deep work isn’t enough. Writing a book may feel like you just ran a marathon, but the book is only the start. Tim Sprinkle spent more than 20 years in journalism, working for prestigious outlets like Yahoo Finance and Seeking Alpha. However, Tim’s first foray into thought leadership came from his book “Screw the Valley: A Coast-to-Coast Tour of America’s New Tech Startup Culture”, where he discussed how tech startups are abandoning the insular nature of Silicon Valley and finding tremendous opportunities for innovation all across America. That book became Tim’s cornerstone thought leadership content and an opportunity to slice, dice, and remix his wisdom. According to Tim, the book also opened many new opportunities to further his thought leadership and became a powerful driving force behind his business. But the book isn’t where Tim stopped. He KEPT writing great content on his specific focus for years to PROVE that he owned his position as a thought leader. The power of focusing on a niche By maintaining a focus on his specific niche of the financial services and fintech sector, Tim was able to build a deep level of understanding and expertise in the space. In short, he planted his flag of authority, and in doing so Tim has been able to get referrals from existing clients specifically because he positioned himself as an expert within that space. Tim works hard to ensure that his thought leadership content is tightly focused and reflects his unique voice, drawing from his depth of experience. In doing so, Tim is able to ensure that the thought leadership content he creates adds tremendous value for his audience. That, in turn, keeps his audience coming back for more and acts as rocket fuel for his business. About Tim Sprinkle Tim Sprinkle is the founder and Chief Strategist of Layup Content, a thought leadership and content marketing agency for the financial services and fintech industries. Before that, he spent 20+ years in journalism, working for outlets and publications like Yahoo Finance and Seeking Alpha, while writing on a freelance basis from some of the largest media brands in the world covering everything from business and finance to outdoor sports. Micromanagement in the workplace is treating people like inmates and them acting like prisoners. Conflicts in the workplace are inevitable. Operators have their own core strengths and mindsets that lead to the distinction in the way they solve problems and handle things. Rather than tagging it as negative, conflicts are an excellent way to mirror the validity of an idea and test how the team understands it and come with the best process and solution. To build the foundation of a healthy professional conflict, it must be rooted from a relationship of trust and respect. In this episode of the Access Points Podcast, Davin and Tim will discuss the topic that makes who they are and what they are, VISION and OPERATIONS. Tim being an entrepreneur and visionary to his core and Davin as the operations guy, they will go in-depth into the compare and contrast of these two mindsets and how they are so important to one another. Their key takeaways: If you're the visionary, make sure that the people you're sharing it with actually get it and understand it If you are the operational mindset, do not leave a conversation with your boss or whoever the visionary is without making sure that you wouldn't a hundred percent understand what it is they're trying to accomplish Enjoy! Favorite Quote "Professional conflict is a fantastic thing. I don't know that you can truly grow. I don't know that you can truly run a successful organization without it. This week on the Way of Champions Podcast we welcome Leadership Expert Tim Kight. Tim founded Focus 3 in the mid-80’s in Southern California, a life-long student of elite performance with the passion and drive to help organizations achieve their goals. In his college days, Tim transferred from Ohio State to UCLA while running Track. It was at UCLA that he witnessed John Wooden win his 9th and 10th national championship. An experience that instilled a great curiosity in Tim as to what distinguishes elite performers from average performers. A question he’s pursued answering ever since that moment. The answer for Tim was curated through observing and documenting the mindset and behavior patterns of elite performers. What was discovered was that elite performers think and behave differently because they’ve adopted a system. We cover a lot of Tim’s incredible material, including how leaders create culture, how to recognize a leader, and a discussion about the leadership crisis the world is facing right now. You can find time on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and at his website. Also, check out Above the Line: Lessons in Leadership and Life from a Championship Program by Urban Meyer. Highlights from the Podcast: Observing John Wooden as an athlete Charisma and Presence in leadership The greatest secret of leadership: It’s not about you. How John ran across Tim Kite The story of Tim meeting Urban Meyer How to recognize a leader 10:52 Why is there a leadership crisis in America right now? The Knowing / Doing gap What is the difference between discipline and default? Discipline is Latin for Learning 16:19 (video) Talent is a gift. Discipline is a choice. Welcome to episode #287 of dHarmic Evolution Join me as we take a ride today from Nashville to Pennsylvania with the musician, recording and performing artist, composer, educator, and finger-style guitar connoisseur, Tim Farrell. Growing up jamming with friends and playing rock music, Tim eventually studied classical guitar, shifting from jazz. His eyes and ears were opened to everything that one can do, not only by playing the rhythm and lead but also melodies, bass line, and open strings, the list is endless! He then applied everything he learned from classical to steel-string guitar and combined the techniques and tones available to steel-string. Realizing that this was not just about playing a chord, but telling a story which Tim believes was one of the best compliments he received when he became the first-ever instrumentalist to play at a venue in Florida and someone quoted to him that “your story is in the music”. Tim's music has shades of Michael Hedges; it's like there is practically no limit to what he can do with his imagination on the way he approaches even the tuning of the guitar. Tim, for the most time, has been using standard tuning when he came across alternate tuning with Little Martha by Leo Kottke. He figured out that he was using open E tuning and heard the potentials that open E created and intensely explored it, in fact, he keeps a guitar on hand with that definitive tuning. Coping with the pandemic With the current situation, Tim believes that the biggest change was not being able to play and perform his music to a larger crowd. While keeping himself active doing walks, yoga, and taking care of his crops, Tim is streaming concerts every other Sunday. He also has a scheduled online concert and workshop at the Cooperage in Pennsylvania. His concerts with his trio called StringSongs - playing alongside Michael Manring and Christopher Garcia are also currently canceled. StringSongs StringSongs was formed when Tim first met Michael on a gig and did some recording together. Eventually, they decided to make it formal, and initially joined by the Grammy-winning piano player and producer, Pat Robinson but later replaced by Christopher due to conflicts in schedule. Tim together with Michael and his fretless bass, and Christopher using a very exotic percussion - they all blend, just perfectly fit, and their music is very unique. What's next for Tim? Watch out for the new solo album that he is working on. And StringSongs – with Michael and Christopher where they are now planning for the recording and rehearsals even during this time of pandemic to come up with new projects Streaming and Music Industry In this confusing time where CDs are going away, vinyl making a comeback, where consumers love streaming and artists hate it. Tim, who is also an educator, is continuously sharing his music and develops workshops online and onsite, performs at senior centers and performing art centers. He believes that this is an eye-opener for people to see that there are so many unexpected things that can be done with an acoustic guitar aside from strumming chords or playing solo. To know more about Tim Farrell's music and everything that he does, you can support him by playing his music through streaming services, ordering his CDs through his website, supporting him on his online live concerts. Timestamps: 2:54 How Tim got connected to finger-style acoustic playing 7:52 Alternate Tuning 9:10 Listen to “Joyride to Tranquillity” 13:49 When did he first come across the idea of starting alternative tuning 17:28 Online concert and workshop in Pennsylvania 19:04 Listen to “Rosewood Alley 25:10 StringSongs with Michael Manring and Christopher Garcia 29:38 Tim's work ethic towards music 33:31 New solo album and plans with StringSongs 36:05 Listen to “Walk Away Renee” written by the Four Tops 40:22 Thoughts about streaming and music business 44:29 Challenges with rehearsing and recording together with Michael and Christopher 49:12: Listen to “Kindred Spirits” 53:20 Coping with the pandemic 55:52 Learn and support Tim Farrell's music 58:13 Listen to “Connected” by James Kevin O'Connor QuotesIn some ways, you get to be like the complete composer when you do what you do. Because It is an entire orchestra, it's not just by playing a chord…and it just brings out so much in the story of what's being played And they said to me afterward, you don't need the words, your story is in the music. A lot of people expect that you will either be strumming chords or playing a solo, and they don't realize you can do these other things together. It's phenomenal to see it open people's eyes and ears up. I think the more your style of playing is out there, the better that songwriters will continue to develop songs in general. We will get better music because it incorporates so much imagination and so much beauty into the songs.
