We are back from IDS in Cologne, Germany. THANK YOU exocad for hosting us and everyone, be prepared for some amazing new features coming to you soon! Along with a TON of crazy good conversations. So when we got an email from the creators of a device that Elvis uses all the time asking to be on the podcast, we jumped at the opportunity. Luckly we were all going to be at the Cal-Lab Association (https://cal-lab.org/) meeting that happens the same week at Lab Day Chicago. This time, Elvis sits down with Danny Yao and Dr. Russell Crockett. Danny has a long history in sales with implants and full arch workflows. Dr. Crockett is a practicing Prosthodontist that loves to design better ways to do dentistry. Meeting awhile ago, Danny saw Dr. Crockett's prototype for a way to get accurate full arch records using just an iOS scanner. Together they created OptiSplint (https://digitalarches.com/collections/optisplint%C2%AE-the-easiest-and-most-accurate-implant-positioning-system-for-full-arch) and ArchTracer (https://digitalarches.com/collections/archtracer%E2%84%A2-the-only-fiducial-marker-you-will-ever-need). Simply put, they screw onto MUAs, lute together, and you can get a series of scans pretty much guaranteed to perfect. Want to know more about this amazing workflow? Take a listen as we dive deeper into all that Digital Arches (https://digitalarches.com/) does. Take it from Laura Prosser, the digital marketing manager for Ivoclar North America (https://www.ivoclar.com/en_us). She would like to invite you to start following them on Instagram. It's your chance to obtain exclusive updates on product announcements, industry news, upcoming educational events, and heartwarming stories about our local team and industry professionals. Let's get social together. Simply start following us on Instagram @Ivoclar.na (https://www.instagram.com/ivoclar.na/). We'll see you there. Are you a dental lab in need of more talent to improve your bottom line and keep production on schedule? Are you a dental tech with great skills but feel you're being limited at your current lab? Well, the answer is here and this is precisely why WIN WIN GO (https://www.winwingo.com/) was created. The dental lab and dental tech community needed a place where labs and technicians can meet, talk about their needs and connect in ways that foster a win win outcome. As a tech. If you're ready to make a change, thinking about moving in the next year or just curious what's out there, sign up today. It's totally free. As a lab, you might be feeling the frustration of paying the big employment site so much and getting so few tech candidates. We understand they don't much care about our industry. WINWINGO.com is simply the best place for lab techs and lab owners to actively engage in creating their ideal future. WINWINGO.com, how dental techs find paradise. Special Guests: Danny Yao and Dr. Russell Crockett.

When choosing implant components, there are a lot of options out there. You COULD go OEM, but there is a lot to be said about cost and workflow when going with a third party option. How do you choose which option to go with? This episode we discuss why two people have chosen DESS Dental Solutions (https://www.dess-usa.com/?srsltid=AfmBOop0MkxSp_PWNT-yIBXnCm-22lVq4PeYO5AXuhvZdLfC2Zi0nMDR) for their implant workflow. I'm back! Not with part 2 of the last episode, which I released a month ago (more?) but with an incredible conversation with Lauren Vena. Lauren is a pro-makeup artist with decades of experience and is currently the cover and features MUA for Bella Magazine. Her first book, My Mom: the best mom ever! seeks to accept the messiness of womanhood and motherhood that we all encounter (because it's human and that's super cool!). Lauren is super cool, too. A Jersey girl at heart, we talk about East Coast living, coming up in the beauty industry, and the one product she can't live without (spoiler: its car tweezers). I hope you like this episode! I'll be back with part 2 of MUAs who revolutionized the game as soon as I'm done with research. There are so many cool people I'm learning about and I can't wait to share them with you! ❤️ Check out Lauren's IG https://www.instagram.com/makeupartist_lv/

In this week's edition of We Love Outdoors with Rich Davenport, your humble host explores the regulatory proposals published in the NYS Register in support of the Deer Management Plan. Comment period on these regulatory proposals ends August 8, 2021. Also discussed are the newly proposed regulatory changes for Fisher and Pine Marten trapping, regulations whose public comment period ends 8/16. Our government is based upon citizen participation, and joining a federation conservation club, attending meetings, getting informed and get involved - write letters, send emails, speak with your elected representatives in support or opposition on issues that impact the wildlife, fisheries and our conservation traditions. Rich Davenport also explores the pending regulations concerning allowable activities on WMAs, F&WMAs, and some MUAs and UAs in NY. Conflicting activities are ongoing on these lands, which is concerning as WMAs and such are to offer wildlife a haven free from human disturbance and harrying when hunting and trapping seasons are closed. This includes reinforcing the leash laws, as dogs cannot be off leash unless engaged in hunting during an open season, or undergoing hunting training in designated areas. You're just walking Fido? ON A LEASH! Your humble host also provides you with updates to the youth hunting law progress, as well as some details from the June 2021 Erie County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs meeting, as the lifting of the covid covid covid rules has brought the lifting of capacity limits, social distancing rules, and the need to pre-register for any event. Short notice to influence the Teach Me To Fish events, but National Hunting and Fishing Day will be full bore this year. Erie County Fair has also announced tickets will no longer be valid on specific days, tickets purchased in advance are good any day of the fair. Alternative energy is once again in the spotlight, as residents of Chautauqua County voice their concerns and opposition to the proposed Ripley to Barcelona industrial solar array project, opposition to expanded wind factory facilities and wind turbines in Lake Erie. Meanwhile, major hypocrisy was exposed in Buffalo Rising in an article concerning outer and inner harbor development and the lawsuit filed against the Erie County Harbor Development Corporation and their general project plans, using some of the identical environmental concerns as are held in opposition to wind turbines in freshwater. Perhaps Sierra Club and the other hypocrites are now seeing the light and stand to protect lake Erie vs. destroy her? We shall see. Finally, if you think NY is goofy, check out Arizona and their recent actions to ban use of trail cameras for scouting for the hunt. Eyes wide open, folks, as these things have a funny way of moving from west to east! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rich-davenport/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rich-davenport/support

You don’t need to be a fan of the show ‘Euphoria’ to understand the impact Donni Davy’s makeup artistry has had on the industry, let alone pop culture. Those rhinestone-studded cat eyes or glitter tears that’s been crowding your IG feed? It’s all thanks to Donni’s influence. And while we’re obsessed with the bold and unapologetic makeup movement she helped start, there is so much more to Donni’s work than meets the eye (no pun intended). On today’s episode, we sit down (virtually, of course) with the Emmy award-winning makeup artist to hear how she got her start on Craigslist, what it’s like to be a makeup department head, and how she develops the looks for her characters, both for TV and film. She also shares the one product that is always in her kit (surprise, it’s affordable!) and discusses her new face decal collaboration with Face Lace. Episode 80 - Listener Episode #8 Another listener episode for your ears! J drinks a 2017 Dry Rose from Lucas Winery and K enjoys a Robert Mondavi Private Selection Chardonnay. We turn the episode over to you, the listeners, this week. Topics include couples working from home, not being able to craft and drink in person with others, Junior High virtual school challenges, and not feeling productive or creative during COVID (which turns into us railing against American capitalistic ideas of having to be productive all the time in order to feel worthy). J wasn't creatively productive this week and instead watched the amazing MUAs on Glow Up 2, K was super productive and finished her shawl and is almost done with her counted cross stitch! J is happy her candidacy paperwork is in and PA was taken off of the MA quarantine list and K glad she can fully dress herself again and Allston Christmas! Wear a mask! Vote! Cheers! This year thousands of construction, maritime and manufacturing workers in Sydney are walking off the job on International Workers Day – Mayday - to join a massive demonstration of working class power and politics. This is the first time in decades since unions have broken-free of concerns about ‘illegal industrial action’ and are literally downing tools, shutting down factories and closing the ports at a time and place of our choosing – International Workers Day. Joining us to discuss a major development in union militancy and politics in NSW is the MUAs very own branch Secretary Paul McAleer, our close friend and comrade Steve Murphy, the NSW State Secretary of the mighty AMWU and last but certainly not least, NSW Assistant Secretary of the NSW construction union Rob Kera. But as we know, the economy ain't’ what it once was. Work ain't’ what it once was. The vast majority of us aren’t in unions. The service industry has exploded in size and significance, casual work is the ever-rising tide. And what about care-labour? Isn’t that work too? Thousands of workers who aren’t even in unions (as we know them) are expected to mobilise for this year's massive demo. What does International Workers Day even mean to this huge, growing section of working class people in Australia? Buckle in for this one, and make sure you and your mates are ready for May 1.”

She has worked with the top magazines, editors, celebrities, models, influencers & photographers in the industry. She can count Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Barbara Walters, Brooke Shields, Christie Brinkley, Elizabeth Hurley, Hugh Grant and many more incredible people as clients. She perfected her disco beauty look from her Studio 54 days. She grew up on Staten Island & moved to NYC as soon as she could. Sandy loves makeup because it brings out the best of beauty in women. Her mom got subscriptions to all the high-fashion magazines. Her mom loved makeup, but didn't know what to do with it. When Sandy would look through the magazines, she could look at the makeup and figure out how to achieve the look in the magazine. Sandy did her mother's makeup before she went to work. After working as a secretary, Sandy went to work at Mr. Kenneth's salon. His clientele was the "who's who" of New York City. He did every society woman, major editors of magazines, models & actresses. He had a small booth in Bloomingdales. Sandy shares a story of working with Jackie'O. The next time she did her makeup, she did big smoky eyes. Jackie ended up buying all the products from the face chart. Sandy did one of the Vogue editor's makeup who then wrote a 2 page article feature on her in Vogue. After that, she was working with Vogue. The most iconic shoot Sandy worked on was a shoot for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine where Debbie Harry was on the cover. Studio 54: what was it like getting ready, what did you wear, what was the music like, what was the feeling there? Sandy was friends with hairdressers who would come over each night and do her hair, she would do her makeup and they would style her, so of course, she had to go out. In those days, you could get into a cab and say, "take me to Studio" and they knew where to go. Typical day: be on a shoot all day and go out at night. Sandy could go to work the next morning with her Studio54 outfit on. Makeup artists need to adapt to the current trends. If there is something you love that is "out of style," it'll come back at some point, so don't worry. Your clients know what is "in" and what is "out," so you have to know as well. Sandy has done makeup for a fashion show and she was the only makeup artist for the whole show. Advice for an aspiring makeup artist: work with a company or salon, don't just work as a freelancer. Sandy is the author of 2 books. "Makeup Wakeup" & "Disco Beauty". For the first 30 years of Sandy's career, she made up women in their 20s. Then, Sandy started working with women older than that and she found they related to her. It is a great book if you'd like to update your makeup look. Even if you've gotten injectables, it is still important to wear makeup. Less is less. Disco Beauty was a labor of love book. She would be booked during the day with the best photographers & models and at the end of the day they would do a shoot for the book. Makeup artists tell her now this book is their bible. Working with.... Goldie Hawn - Sandy did a natural look on her as most girls who come from L.A. do. Elizabeth Hurley - She is naturally funny Helmut Newton - they worked on a shoot with Patti Hansen together. Sandy serendipitously came upon the person who represented Helmut. Arthur Elgort - Sandy worked with him when working for Vogue. You can't tell the models are working in his photographs. They are almost unaware he is taking the picture. Richard Avedon - One shoot was with Jerry Hall. He was good looking, but had a short temper. This is the second part of a two part series on working with models. In this episode I kind of fill in the blanks of what I didn’t cover in the first episode. This two part series obviously doesn’t cover the whole spectrum of what’s involved (that really would require it’s own dedicated podcast!) but […] The post Photography Matters Ep 36 – Working with Models, Part II: Where Are They?, Model Releases, MUAs and Keep Your Hands to Yourself appeared first on Photography Matters.

Muas) is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, educator, and academic residing on Ohlone land. Their projects are concerned with digital media, cyberspace, visual culture, and its relationship to capitalism, power, and IRL curated violence. Their art, teaching, and curatorial practice is based on an interdisciplinary approach that intersects the visual arts with critical cultural and social theory, praxis and a DIY (‘do-it-yourself’) ethic. They create experiences that encourage critical-thought and break away from western heteropatriarchal boundaries to further shape how we educate and empower our present and future generations. This project, which began in 2013 as a documentary gesture of a distinct urban phenomenon, has unfolded as a series of investigations taking the form of interventions, audio and publishing projects, forming a flexible mode of research attesting to the ad-hoc arrangements emerging out of a particular socio-economic environment.

Over 96M Americans live in medically underserved areas (MUAs) right here in the United States. Most MUAs are located in strategic areas of need where service is desperately needed and where people are ripe for the gospel. Medical mission pioneers are responding to needs in our own nation by applying in domestic settings proven strategies that have worked in challenging international fields. These courageous disciples recognize that our mission really is "global" and not just "international"; that "mission" is not something you do 2 weeks in the summer, but is a lifestyle; and that serving in cross-cultural, impoverished communities here not only fulfills our Christian mandate, but is the best preparation they can get for work in other countries. This session will examine what gospel-driven healthcare looks like in the U.S., and discuss the principles and strategies that are helping Christians extend Christ's love through healthcare to the neediest of our neighbors.
