L'emblématique charcuterie alsacienne Maurer Tempé a été placée en liquidation judiciaire. Fondée il y a 150 ans, l'entreprise était considérée comme la plus ancienne charcuterie d'Alsace. Malgré l'étude d'un projet de reprise, la justice a estimé que celui-ci n'offrait pas suffisamment de garanties. 109 salariés vont ainsi perdre leur emploi. Déjà placée en redressement judiciaire en 2019, l'entreprise avait alors été reprise sous forme de coopérative par ses employés. Confrontée à d'importantes difficultés financières, un appel au soutien avait été lancé en mars dernier pour réunir 2 millions d'euros. A Colmar, l'interdiction des cadenas d'amour fait débat. Après une première opération de décrochage l'été dernier, la municipalité affiche désormais des panneaux annonçant une amende de 300€ pour les contrevenants sur les ponts de la Petite Venise. Selon le maire, Éric Straumann, le poids accumulé des cadenas provoque la rupture de certains câbles et engendre des coûts d'entretien pour la collectivité. Une décision qui suscite l'inquiétude des commerçants. Certains dénoncent un manque de concertation et craignent de ne pas pouvoir écouler leurs stocks de cadenas. La municipalité indique qu'un arrêté municipal doit prochainement être pris et qu'une phase de sensibilisation est actuellement en cours auprès des touristes. L'association “Les Lanternes de Bartholdi” organise sa nocturne ce vendredi 5 juin. L'objectif : faire connaître les différents commerçants aux habitants. De nombreuses animations seront proposées comme des concerts, des défilés, des déambulations ou encore des jeux de piste. EoE requires long-term management, but what does that look like in practice? In Part 2, Prof. Alex Straumann discusses the realities of treating a chronic, relapsing disease, where remission is achievable but a cure is not. The episode explores how to approach maintenance therapy, manage persistent symptoms despite histological remission, and when to escalate treatment to biologics. It also addresses the practical limitations of dietary strategies and the ongoing challenge of identifying trigger foods. Looking ahead, the discussion highlights key unmet needs in EoE, including the absence of reliable diagnostic tools for food triggers and the potential influence of modern food production on disease prevalence.

Part 2 will be released on Wednesday, the 29th of April. Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is now a well-recognised condition. But it was not always so. In this episode, Prof. Alex Straumann shares how EoE was first identified, taking us back to the late 1980s when unusual cases of food impaction and eosinophilic inflammation did not fit any known diagnosis. He discusses the clinical observations that led to recognising EoE as a distinct disease, the early case series that defined its phenotype, and the initial treatment approaches that shaped current practice. The episode also addresses key diagnostic challenges that remain relevant today, including the distinction from oesophageal eosinophilia and the limitations of symptom-based assessment.

Im März entscheidet die Schweiz über eine deutliche Senkung der Rundfunkgebühren. Die Gegner setzen auf Panikmache – bislang mit spürbarer Wirkung.Ein Standpunkt von Michael Straumann. Diesen Sonntag stimmen die Schweizer Bürger über die „Halbierungsinitiative“ ab, die einen radikalen Schnitt bei den Rundfunkgebühren fordert: Statt 335 Franken sollen Haushalte künftig nur noch 200 Franken pro Jahr bezahlen – Unternehmen würden ganz von der Abgabe befreit.Formell ist die Schweizerische Radio- und Fernsehgesellschaft (SRG) ein privater Verein. In der Praxis jedoch agiert sie wie der öffentlich-rechtliche Rundfunk in Deutschland. Die Finanzierung erfolgt obligatorisch: Jeder Haushalt zahlt – unabhängig davon, ob er das Angebot nutzt oder nicht. Eingetrieben werden die Gebühren von der Firma Serafe. International gilt die Schweiz als Spitzenreiterin, was die Höhe der geräteunabhängigen Rundfunkgebühren betrifft. (Foto 1 im Anhang)Seit Jahren nimmt der Unmut über die SRG zu. Er entzündet sich an zwei Punkten: an der Höhe der Gebühren und an der internen Funktionsweise der Anstalt. Trotz wiederholter Sparversprechen wachsen die Ausgaben kontinuierlich. Seit 2007 ist die Zahl der Mitarbeiter von rund 6.000 auf über 7.100 gestiegen. Allein im Jahr 2024 legten die Betriebskosten um 39 Millionen Franken zu. Zwar stellte SRG-Generaldirektorin Susanne Wille Einsparungen von 270 Millionen Franken bis 2029 in Aussicht. Vieles spricht jedoch dafür, dass es sich dabei vor allem um ein politisches Manöver handelt, um der Halbierungsinitiative den Wind aus den Segeln zu nehmen. Denn Reformversprechen gehören bei der SRG seit Jahren zum festen Repertoire. Bereits Armin Walpen, Roger de Weck und Gilles Marchand kündigten Sparrunden und Strukturreformen an. Geblieben ist es bei Ankündigungen – die Personalkosten steigen weiter.Gleichzeitig verschärft sich die Kritik an der inhaltliche Ausrichtung des Rundfunkprogramms. Seit Jahren wird der SRG politische Einseitigkeit vorgeworfen. Kritiker monieren, dass unbequeme Themen ausgeblendet und abweichende Positionen nicht nüchtern eingeordnet, sondern systematisch diskreditiert werden. So schwieg das Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) wochenlang zu den EU-Sanktionen gegen die Schweizer Staatsbürger Jacques Baud und Nathalie Yamb. Nach der Erschießung des US-amerikanischen Politaktivisten Charlie Kirk wurde dieser als „rechtsextremer Influencer“ diffamiert; zugleich machte das SRF Donald Trump für das gesellschaftliche Klima in den USA verantwortlich, das zum Mord beigetragen habe.Auch über die „Twitter Files“ berichtete der Sender erst mit erheblicher Verzögerung. Zwar wurden Kontakte zwischen den US-Behörden und Twitter erwähnt, eine mögliche politische Einflussnahme blieb jedoch weitgehend ausgeklammert. 2024 rügte die Unabhängige Beschwerdeinstanz (UBI) das SRF zudem, weil es über die Veröffentlichung der deutschen RKI-Protokolle geschwiegen hatte. Swissinfo, ein Kanal der SRG, suggerierte in einem Artikel, eine Mehrheit der Bürger befürworte eine Annäherung der Schweiz an die NATO – obwohl Umfragen das Gegenteil nahelegen.Ähnlich wie in Deutschland haben die öffentlich-rechtlichen Journalisten in der Schweiz ein Faible für grüne Politiker. So zeigt eine Analyse der Weltwoche, dass in der SRF-Sendung Arena Vertreter der Grünen im Vergleich zu anderen Parteien überdurchschnittlich häufig eingeladen werden. Auch in gesellschaftspolitischen Fragen folgt die SRG unverkennbar dem Zeitgeist. So erklärte das SRF, das Publikum wünsche sich mehr gendergerechte Sprache – obwohl entsprechende Befragungen diese Annahme nicht stützen. Es soll signalisieren, dass jeder Widerstand gegen die Staatsräson von Bundesbern drakonisch geahndet wird.Ein Standpunkt von Michael Straumann. Ein Gerichtsurteil, das Bände über den Zustand der Schweiz spricht: Ein Bürgerrechtler muss über 50'000 Franken bezahlen. Der Auslöser liegt viereinhalb Jahre zurück. Damals organisierte ein politischer Aktivist einen Protestmarsch gegen einen Schweizer Bundespolitiker, der öffentlich dazu aufgerufen hatte, ungeimpfte Menschen mit einem Sticker auf der Kleidung optisch zu kennzeichnen – eine verbale Eskalation sondergleichen.Zur Rechenschaft gezogen wurde jedoch nicht der Urheber dieses Aufrufs, Jürg Grossen, Präsident der Grünliberalen Partei Schweiz (GLP). Verurteilt wurde vielmehr Nicolas A. Rimoldi, Präsident der Bürgerrechtsbewegung MASS-VOLL!.«In Deutschland gilt derjenige, der auf den Schmutz hinweist, für viel gefährlicher als derjenige, der den Schmutz macht»,sagte einst der deutsche Schriftsteller Kurt Tucholsky. Diese Beobachtung gilt offenbar nicht mehr nur für Deutschland, sondern längst auch für die Schweiz.Ein verbaler DammbruchEs war Juli 2021. Der Corona-Ausnahmezustand ging in sein zweites Jahr. Die Impfkampagne lief auf Hochtouren, der Zertifikatszwang griff in der Schweiz – wie weltweit – immer weiter um sich. Kritiker der Corona-Massnahmen warnten früh davor, dass mit der Einführung des «Gesundheitszertifikats», gestützt auf das neu geschaffene Covid-Gesetz, eine Zweiklassengesellschaft entstehen könnte. Eine Sorge, die sich später als berechtigt erwies.Vor diesem Hintergrund markierte die Aussage von Grossen eine neue Eskalationsstufe. Er begnügte sich nicht mit allgemeinen Forderungen nach schärferen Massnahmen, wie sie damals von vielen Politikern in der Schweiz zu hören waren.Am 17. Juli erklärte er in der Zeitung Tagesanzeiger:«Ungeimpftes Pflegepersonal sollte sich mit Stickern kennzeichnen müssen.»Mitarbeiter in Spitälern, Altersheimen und Kindertagesstätten sollten ein sichtbares Zeichen tragen, das ihren Impfstatus offenlegt – überall dort, wo Menschen betreut würden, die sich anstecken könnten. Diese Aussage war ein verbaler Dammbruch und erinnert unweigerlich an die finstersten Kapitel des 20. Jahrhunderts. Naheliegend war die Befürchtung, dass eine solche Kennzeichnung nicht beim Pflegepersonal Halt gemacht, sondern früher oder später auf weitere Teile der Bevölkerung ausgeweitet worden wäre. Ein Aufschrei in den hiesigen Leitmedien, geschweige denn in Bundesbern, blieb aus.Der Weg durch die InstanzenEine Reaktion kam einzig aus der hierzulande neu entstandenen ausserparlamentarischen Opposition – namentlich von der Bewegung MASS-VOLL!, die im Februar 2021 gerade erst gegründet worden war. Rimoldi organisierte am Montagabend, dem 19. Juli, eine Spontankundgebung in Luzern. Ab 19 Uhr zogen weit über 1000 Menschen in einem Protestmarsch durch die Altstadt, um ein Zeichen gegen Diskriminierung und eine drohende Zweiklassengesellschaft zu setzen – ganz im Sinne des Mottos: Wehret den Anfängen. Obwohl die Demonstration geordnet verlief und die rechtlichen Voraussetzungen einer Spontankundgebung erfüllte, erstattete die Luzerner Polizei im Nachgang Strafanzeige gegen den Bürgerrechtler. April, das auf Erkenntnissen aller 18 US-Geheimdienste basiert, kommt zu dem Schluss, dass die Maduro-Regierung mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit keine Politik der Zusammenarbeit mit Drogenkartellen verfolgt und weder deren Bewegungen in die USA noch deren Aktivitäten dort steuert. Le Bas-Rhin est le département le plus attractif du Grand-Est. L'Insee a dévoilé hier les chiffres officiels des populations de chaque commune française. Le Grand-Est est toujours au 6ème rang des régions de France avec 5 563 378 habitants. Alors que sur la période précédente, la région avait perdu plus de 10 000 habitants, elle en a gagné plus de 4000 entre 2017 et 2023. Le nombre de naissances ne comble pas le nombre de décès, mais la région attire des habitants qui viennent s'y installer. Les zones frontalières gagnent notamment des habitants, comme dans la plaine d'Alsace ou à la frontière avec le Luxembourg. La gendarmerie lance un appel à la vigilance. Depuis plusieurs semaines, la compagnie de gendarmerie de Sélestat constate une hausse des cambriolages, notamment dans les communes et environs de Châtenois et Marckolsheim. A quelques jours de Noël et des nombreuses livraisons de colis, il est conseillé de bien fermer ses portes et fenêtres et de mettre en place un système d'éclairage programmé. Ce mercredi 12 novembre, le maire, Eric Straumann était en présence de Gérard Morena, directeur départemental de la sécurité publique, Emmanuel Aubry, préfet du Haut-Rhin, Eric Loesch, président de l'Office de Tourisme et Johny Royer, directeur de l'Office de Tourisme, lors d'une conférence de presse dédiée aux festivités de Noël de cette année.  Le marché de Noël colmarien ouvrira ses portes le mardi 25 novembre et se prolongera jusqu'au 29 décembre. Simulation d'un accident industriel à Sélestat. Lauréate du prix territorial “Tous résilients face aux risques”, la municipalité organisera demain matin un exercice impliquant un accident industriel, dans un des sites industriels de la ZI Nord. Le dispositif téléalerte sera utilisé afin d'informer la population de l'exercice. Das Resultat sorgte weltweit für Aufsehen. In den sozialen Medien zeigten sich viele entsetzt darüber, dass ausgerechnet die Schweiz – das Land der direkten Demokratie – oft als «Freiheitsinsel Europas» verklärt – dem E-ID-Gesetz zustimmte.Der US-amerikanische Journalist und Twitter-Files-Mitherausgeber Michael Shellenberger schrieb kurz nach der Abstimmung am 28. September:"Gütiger Gott. Die Schweizer Bevölkerung hat soeben der digitalen ID zugestimmt. Australien führte sie im Dezember ein, Großbritannien letzte Woche. In allen drei Ländern stehen Politiker dahinter, die eng mit dem Deep State verflochten sind. Das ist ein digitaler ID- und Zensur-Notstand."Welch Paradoxon: Im Namen der Demokratie kann ein Volk so gelenkt werden, dass es dem Abbau seiner eigenen Grundrechte zustimmt. Juli 2025 überwies die Swisscom 30'000 Franken an das «Wirtschaftskomitee Schweizer e-ID». Öffentlich bekannt wurde die Zahlung jedoch erst am 21. September – eine Woche vor dem Urnengang. Damit verletzte Swisscom das in der Bundesverfassung garantierte Gebot der Abstimmungsfreiheit (Art. 34 Abs. 2 BV).Als staatsnahes Unternehmen ist die Swisscom zur politischen Neutralität verpflichtet. Im Vereinigten Königreich ist die elektronische Identität schon heute Voraussetzung für Arbeitsplatz, Wohnung und Gesundheitsversorgung. Australien geht noch weiter: Dort soll der Zugriff auf Internetsuchmaschinen wie Google oder Bing künftig nur noch mit E-ID möglich sein. In Schweden gilt sie zwar offiziell als freiwillig, ist aber im Alltag faktisch unverzichtbar – sei es bei Bankgeschäften, Steuererklärungen oder Arztbesuchen. Österreich wiederum setzt auf Druck: Wer die staatliche ID Austria verweigert, kann sanktioniert werden. So verlor kürzlich eine Lehrerin ihre Stelle, weil sie sich weigerte, die digitale Identität zu nutzen.Auch in der Schweiz drängt die Politik auf eine E-ID – gebremst einzig durch die direkte Demokratie. 2021 lehnte das Stimmvolk die damalige Vorlage mit deutlichen 64,4 Prozent ab. Statt diesen Entscheid zu akzeptieren, legte der Bundesrat rasch nach: In der neuen Gesetzesvorlage soll der digitale Identitätsnachweis nicht mehr von privaten Firmen, sondern angeblich vom Staat herausgegeben werden. Mitte Juni erschütterte ein weiterer Skandal die Schweizer Politik. Diesmal betroffen: das Eidgenössische Departement für Verteidigung, Bevölkerungsschutz und Sport (VBS). Ursprünglich plante der Bundesrat, 36 F-35-Kampfjets zu einem vermeintlichen Fixpreis von sechs Milliarden Franken anzuschaffen. Nun stellt sich heraus: Diesen Fixpreis hat es – entgegen den wiederholten Behauptungen der ehemaligen VBS-Chefin Viola Amherd und der Schweizer Armee – nie gegeben.Bereits im Mai 2022 warnte die Eidgenössische Finanzkontrolle (EFK) vor der «rechtlichen Unsicherheit beim Begriff des Festpreises» in den Vertragsdokumenten. Diese sprachen von «geschätzten Kosten» und davon, dass der Endpreis den Kosten der US-Regierung entsprechen würde. Amherd und ihre Mitarbeiter wiesen diese Warnungen zurück und warfen der EFK vor, Politik zu betreiben. Mitte Juni trat Amherds Nachfolger Martin Pfister an die Öffentlichkeit und räumte ein, dass bei der Beschaffung des F-35 Mehrkosten von bis zu 1,35 Milliarden Franken drohen. Auf US-Seite sei von einem «Missverständnis» bezüglich des Fixpreises die Rede. Experten und Militärkritiker vermuten, dass sich die F-35-Beschaffung inklusive aller Zusatzkosten auf bis zu zehn Milliarden Franken belaufen könnte.Horrende SummenWoher kommen diese enormen Kostensteigerungen? Zum einen enthält das Vertragspaket mit den Amerikanern nur eine rudimentäre Bewaffnung, die später nachgerüstet werden muss – etwa mit Bomben oder neuen Infrarot-Lenkwaffen. Geschätzte Zusatzkosten: 107 Millionen Franken für die Bewaffnung und weitere 400 Millionen für Lenkwaffen.Zum anderen gilt das Triebwerk des F-35 als pannenanfällig, weswegen nach der Auslieferung eine Nachrüstung vorgesehen ist. Der Ersatz der Triebwerke für alle 36 Jets könnte etwa 430 Millionen Franken kosten. Charlie comes on to talk about how though an engineering program, he found the dental laboratory industry. He starts by loading mills and scanning models, and soon noticed of how many of the crowns looked the same. Aleksandra Polczynski is an artist. Without even knowing what a dental technician was, she met and married a Master Dental Technician.
