Kristian Harloff breaks down the biggest movie news stories of the day, led by major Avengers: Doomsday updates as advance ticket sales begin generating huge buzz. With Marvel Studios preparing for its next massive Avengers event, Kristian discusses the early pre-sale numbers, the latest comments from the Russo Brothers, and whether Avengers: Doomsday could become another record-breaking MCU blockbuster. Plus, new reports raise questions about Marvel Studios' highly anticipated X-Men reboot as Charles Melton may no longer be in the running to play Hank McCoy/Beast. What does this mean for Marvel's new X-Men cast, and could a major announcement still be coming soon? The show also covers the first reactions to The End of Oak Street, with early viewers claiming the film finally "makes dinosaurs scary again," and Samara Weaving officially joins the growing cast of the live-action Legend of Zelda movie. Today's show is headlined by Avengers: Doomsday as anticipation continues to build for Marvel Studios' next massive crossover. Kristian looks at the early ticket sales and discusses whether the combination of Doctor Doom, the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and returning MCU characters could push Doomsday toward historic box office numbers. We also dive into the constantly evolving X-Men casting rumors, the surprisingly strong early buzz surrounding The End of Oak Street, and the latest addition to Nintendo's highly anticipated Legend of Zelda adaptation. Today, the original Nokia cell phone is more of a fable than a product, but back in 2003, the cell phone market wasn't yet dominated by a black rectangle, and ingenuity was everywhere.Which is why the former pulp manufacturer Nokia launched the N-Gage, a cellphone/gaming-device combo, in an effort to take down a little-known company called Nintendo. And since you've probably owned a Game Boy or DS at some point in your life and have never heard of the N-Gage, you probably know who came out on top.BUT! If you were one of the few who got this for Christmas instead of a Game Boy Advance, you probably know that it had impressive graphics and a killer game selection. It's just too bad that pretty much every other aspect of it sucked.Check out more from Justin here: justindodd.rocksCheck out more from Steve here: stevejhward.comdrinkgenies.com

Marvel Tokon PC issues, Nintendo movie expansion, Sony physical‑media backlash, Microsoft disc‑support plans, and a Space Station Silicon Valley N64 review. Chapters: 00:00 — Episode preview 00:31 — Welcome & show intro 01:34 — John's recent pickups and gaming 05:14 — Ryan's LEGO pickup, Ori, and Guilty Gear Strive 10:50 — Marvel Tokon's PC launch problems 14:52 — Nintendo's expanding movie ambitions 22:21 — Sony, digital-only games, and physical media concerns 31:33 — Could Xbox preserve physical game support? 44:35 — Space Station Silicon Valley review 59:53 — Wrap-up John and Ryan break down another week of gaming news, starting with their recent video game pickups and what's been keeping them busy. From new finds to ongoing playthroughs, they warm up the episode with what's currently on their controllers. The news segment kicks off with Marvel Tokon stumbling to mixed Steam reviews as players call the PC port “miserable,” prompting a response from Arc System Works. The guys dig into what went wrong Next, they look at Nintendo's expanding entertainment strategy as the company plans to double down on movies following the Super Mario Bros. film's massive double‑billion success. They explore what franchises could be next and how this shift affects Nintendo's broader identity. The conversation then moves to Sony, where the CFO addresses criticism about PlayStation dropping physical games — though not very convincingly. John and Ryan unpack the messaging, the backlash, and what this means for collectors and retailers. They also discuss reports that Microsoft originally planned to continue disc support before the internal “Xbox reset,” adding another wrinkle to the ongoing physical‑vs‑digital debate. To wrap up the episode, the Inflation Deflation Game of the Week spotlights Space Station Silicon Valley on the Nintendo 64, as the duo revisits the quirky classic and evaluates its current market value. Lured Up Podcast 403: Back to Basics Live Streamed on - 8/5/2026 Publish Date - 8/7/2026 Listen to this episode ad free on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/PokemonProfessor The last few weeks have been non-stop ups and downs over events, tickets, and the need for a break. This week we take a step back from that conversation to discuss some important topics about what made us originally fall in love with this game. It was likely NOT buying every event ticket, having every weekend consumed with events, and min-maxing every single mechanic in the game. It likely had to do with exploration, having fun exploring to catch Pokémon and spending time with fiends. We look into how important those basics are to keep your personal motivation and excitement over the game alive. We get back to basics with conversations about the not so exciting but exceptionally essential to your success. Things like managing Pokémon storage, item inventory, and goal setting are important crucial to maximizing the time you do get to play. Our talk helps navigate some things to keep your eye on to make dedicated gameplay sessions as efficient as possible. There are two in-game events to unpack this week, first the Spring Marathon and then the XP/Worlds event. Taking a look at the Marathon event, we are sure that Scopely has learned a lot about how the online community feels about Research with walking tasks. Spoiler alert, they don't like it. Not surprisingly, we love it, and hope more Trainers can see how Walking is not only a core part of the game, but a mechanic that improves our experience by suggesting healthy choices. The XP and Worlds event is still three weeks away, there are some dates to put on your calendar. There will be 4 different Twitch drops during the Worlds weekend including a Timed Research exclusively available from co-streamers like us! Stay tuned for a date and time that we will be co-streaming during Worlds! We wrap up with our Professor's Principle of the week in a discussion about how when you lose your way, it's best to get back to basics. The onslaught of events has burned a ton of Trainers out, and with it comes less motivation and drive to even open the game. Putting effort into finding what brings you joy and rediscovering it can help you get your groove back in our current post, GO Fest burnout phase. In life, things are a bit less tangible. We lose motivation to do the small things, which can be getting good sleep, eating right, drinking water. Returning to those basics will undoubtedly have a positive impact on other parts of your life. The little things are vital. Little Things make big things happen. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is the first feature film ever shot entirely with IMAX 70mm film cameras, which is apparently a very big deal, and why it's been harder than usual to get a ticket to see Matt Damon. And now that Spider-Man is moving onto IMAX screens, it may be even harder to get a ticket. Why is this 60-year-old technology suddenly the hottest thing in movies? The Verge's film and TV reporter Charles Pulliam-Moore joins senior reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy to compare the standard and IMAX versions of The Odyssey and talk us through the difference between IMAX, LieMAX, and Infinity Vision. Havva Sevay: Success Is Feedback, Not Metrics—And the Power of Standing in Someone Else's Shoes Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes. "My success is not metrics or numbers—that was my controller past. I measure myself through feedback, and through team satisfaction." - Havva Sevay As a former project controller, Havva could have defined success in numbers. Instead, she measures it through feedback and team satisfaction. As long as people keep talking to her—telling her how she can be a better Scrum Master—she considers that success, and she treats even hard feedback as learning. But the most striking part of her definition is the discipline of standing in someone else's shoes. When a developer suggested she'd give better advice if she understood programming, she took the Scrum Developer training—the hardest training she's ever done—just to feel the team's daily reality. Vasco connects it to coaching a team that builds tools for other teams: the role isn't to produce the system, it's to make the other teams' lives easier. Havva's takeaway for every Scrum Master: put your shoes in a different position. Understanding the work from the other person's perspective is what drives team success. Self-reflection Question: How do you measure your own success as a Scrum Master—and when did you last experience your team's work from their perspective? [The Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]

The trial comes to an end.Last week, the prosecution brought the first wave of evidence against Super Mario Sunshine, arguing that one of Nintendo's most beloved GameCube games is guilty of crimes against the player experience. This week, court is back in session as the prosecution presents new exhibits, surprise witness testimony, and one final argument before the jury reaches a verdict. Can the defense convince the court that Sunshine deserves its place among Nintendo's classics, or will it be found guilty once and for all?Along the way, we also talk about what we've been playing, including The Legend of Korra, The Quarry, Keyboard Warrior, Swan Song, and more.Timecodes:00:00 - Start12:20 - Housekeeping15:08 - Recap: The Trial So Far17:17 - Housekeeping19:26 - Easy Mode: What We've Been Playing20:00 - Jerica Plays The Legend of Korra24:15 - Josh's Indie Game Roundup28:01 - Kayla Reviews The Quarry34:27 - Why Swan Song Is So Underrated36:56 - Court Is Back In Session38:55 - The Charges Against Super Mario Sunshine40:05 - The Defense's Opening Statement42:45 - New Evidence Presented47:30 - Andy Cortez Testifies Against Sunshine52:30 - Witness Testimonies55:05 - Crimes Against Mario's Fists1:01:30 - The GameCube Controller Debate1:04:00 - Closing Statements and Final Verdicts Catch us live every Monday at 9 PM ET on Twitch!Support the showJK! Daniel Mahncke and Shawn O'Malley take a deep dive into DLocal (NASDAQ: DLO), the first Uruguayan unicorn and the emerging markets payment provider for companies like Amazon, Uber, Spotify, Netflix, and many more. DLocal is trading at attractive multiples while growing payment volumes at over 70% and printing cash due to high operating leverage and a high-margin business model. That cash is given back to shareholders in the form of dividends and buybacks. Daniel and Shawn discuss whether the high customer concentration and the declining take rate justify the cheap valuation or whether the market is not understanding the full potential of this emerging market jewel. In the end, Daniel values the business and decides whether DLO deserves a spot in The Intrinsic Value Portfolio. IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN: (00:00:00) Intro (00:02:04) How DLO became the leading player in emerging markets (00:06:16) What makes DLO's business model stand out (00:14:20) What two megatrends DLO benefits from (00:26:41) Whether there is a race to the bottom with take rates (00:50:37) How DLO compares to Western competition (00:56:58) How DLocal distributes cash to shareholders (01:13:26) Valuation discussion of DLO (01:16:05) Whether DLO is valued attractively (01:17:44) Whether Shawn and Daniel add DLO to the Intrinsic Value Portfolio Disclaimer: Slight discrepancies in the timestamps may occur due to podcast platform differences.
