“The crowds on earth, they soon forget, the heroes of the past, they cheer like mad until you fall. And that's how long you last.” "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." - Coach John Wooden The world praises performance. God celebrates presence. The world gives you a spotlight. God invites you to serve in the shadows. - Lee Brower Let's stack the moments that really count. So, here's the challenge this week: What am I honoring above the chair rail of my life? What small act of character, compassion, or connection could I do today, even if no one else sees it?

Coming into 2025, we have six flights of SpaceX's Starship behind us, with a possibility for as many as 25 tests supported by the FAA license for this year. This is also the year we need to see an orbital test, payloads carried, orbital refueling, and hopefully catches of both the Booster and Ship, and progress toward an uncrewed test landing on the moon. So much to discuss, so join Tariq, Rod, and ace space reporter Leonard David as we deep dive into King Starship! Headlines: • Wildfires near NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, have displaced many employees and caused the facility to shut down temporarily, but the lab itself remains untouched. • NASA is considering two options for the Mars Sample Return mission, both under $8 billion, with a launch planned by 2035-2039. • Bill Nye, CEO of The Planetary Society and former host of "Bill Nye the Science Guy," was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his dedication to science education and space exploration advocacy. Main Topic - SpaceX Starship in 2025: • SpaceX plans to ramp up Starship test flights in 2025, with up to 25 launches scheduled throughout the year. • Starship test flight 7, scheduled for January 13th, will feature a new Starship design with enhanced flaps, a new flight computer, and other upgrades. • The goal of Starship is to serve as a reusable, heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying up to 100 people and 100 metric tons of cargo to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. • SpaceX is rapidly iterating on the Starship design, with stated plans to build new Starships in a single day and test new features on each flight. • While Starship's development has been impressive, questions remain about its life support systems, radiation protection, and interior design for crewed missions. • A discussion of the potential impact of Starship on NASA's Artemis program and the future of space exploration, including the possibility of using Starship as a space station or for Mars missions. • The conversation also touches on the challenges facing NASA, including aging infrastructure and the need for greater collaboration with the private sector, as highlighted in a recent report by the National Academies. The politicians who are willing to subvert the interests of ordinary people to the interests of plutocrats and power structures. The pundits, reporters and filmmakers who are willing to sell propaganda to deceive us into thinking this is all healthy and normal. Reading by Tim Foley.

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first female elected head of state in an African nation and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate joins Mike Shanley to discuss the role of aid donors, localization, and women and development. This episode was recorded live at the Society for International Development-US Annual Dinner on 13 November 2024.   BIOGRAPHY: Internationally known as Africa's “Iron Lady,” President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is a leading promoter of peace, justice and democratic rule. She grew up in the Liberian capital of Monrovia, where she married and had four sons. President Johnson Sirleaf later moved to the United States where she earned an accounting degree from the Madison College of Business and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. In her efforts to bring justice to her people in Liberia, she has spent more than a year in jail at the hands of the military dictatorship of General Samuel Doe and had her life threatened by former President Charles Taylor. She campaigned relentlessly for Taylor's removal from office and played an active and supportive role in the Transitional Government of Liberia as the country prepared for elections in October of 2005. President Johnson Sirleaf was a presidential candidate in the 1997 Liberia general election where she finished second in the field of 13. Before that, she served for five years as Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Africa of the United Nations Development Program as Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and was the first woman to lead the United Nations Development Project for Africa. She served as the Chairperson of the Governance Reform Commission of the National Transitional Government of Liberia until she resigned in March 2004 to accept the nomination of the Unity Party of Liberia as the party's leader. In November 2005, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was elected President of Liberia and became the first woman to lead an African nation. In the elections she defeated popular world-class soccer star George Weah with an impressive 59.4 percent of the vote. In October 2007, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civil award, for her personal courage and unwavering commitment to expanding freedom and improving the lives of people in Liberia and across Africa. And in 2010, as the only female and African Head of State, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the World Top Ten Leaders.   LEARN MORE Thank you for tuning into this episode of the Aid Market Podcast. Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with the Honorable Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. M.D., one of America's principled leaders and a great patriot. The program begins with the words — "the perilous fight" penned by Francis Scott Key in the midst of a most difficult and pivotal moment in our nation's history when twenty British ships bombarded Fort McHenry from the Baltimore Harbor. It was on the morning of September 14, 1814 that Francis Scott Key wrote about the ramparts, and the land of the free and the home of the brave which inspired a nation and became a rallying victory call. Our conversation highlights Dr. Ben Carson's new book "The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family." “The perilous fight—those words arrest my attention whenever I place my right hand over my heart and face the flag at the playing of our national anthem. They are a reminder that America was born in a crucible of fire. Freedom was not given freely but had to be fought for and defended.” ~ Dr. Ben Carson Biography | Dr. Ben Carson In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. At the age of 33, Dr. Carson became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, making him the youngest major division director in the hospital's history. This would be among an extensive list of outstanding firsts for Dr. Carson. Dr. Carson's accomplishments have earned him a place in medical history. He performed the first and only successful separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at the back of the head in 1987. He also performed the first fully successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins in 1997 in South Africa. In his career, Dr. Carson became a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center for over 29 years. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community and life. Dr. Carson and his wife, Candy Carson, co-founded the Carson Scholars Fund, which recognizes young people of all backgrounds for exceptional academic and humanitarian accomplishments. The organization has awarded more than 11,000 scholarships and paid out more than $8.9 million in scholarships. The Carson Scholars Fund is currently operating in 50 states and the District of Columbia, and since its founding, has installed more than 270 Ben Carson Reading Rooms around the country. In 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), a conservative think tank centered around advancing policies that promote “faith, liberty, community, and life.” Dr. and Mrs. Carson reside in Florida. King Jr. as "the greatest preacher to ever live."Studying for the ministry at American Baptist Theological Seminary (now called American Baptist College) in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1959, Vivian met James Lawson, who was teaching Mohandas Gandhi's nonviolent direct action strategy to the Nashville Student Movement. Soon Lawson's students, including Diane Nash, Bernard Lafayette, James Bevel, John Lewis and others from American Baptist, Fisk University and Tennessee State University, organized a systematic nonviolent sit-in campaign at local lunch counters.Vivian helped found the Nashville Christian Leadership Conference, and helped organize the first sit-ins in Nashville in 1960 and the first civil rights march in 1961. "You can turn your back now and you can keep the club in your hand, but you cannot beat down justice. And we will register to vote, because as citizens of these United States we have the right to do it."Vivian conceived and directed an educational program, Vision, and put 702 Alabama students in college with scholarships (this program later became Upward Bound). In this provocative and ultimately hopeful book, he gives us the facts, inspiration, and theory-to-action answers we need to restore a key foundation of America: the family. The Perilous Fight equips us to understand: — The hard data behind the breakdown of the family and its effects on our society, including poverty, crime, and deteriorating education. — The core biblical beliefs that led our nation into unprecedented freedom and prosperity--and why abandoning those beliefs led to the social decline we see today. — The fresh ideas and public policy options that could reverse negative trends impacting the family while maintaining a balance between constitutional freedoms and governmental involvement. The American Cornerstone Institute (ACI) was founded by world-renowned neurosurgeon and 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson. After serving our nation and the American people faithfully for four years, Dr. Carson is ensuring there is an organization fighting for the principles that have guided him through life, and that make this country great: Faith, Liberty, Community, and Life. Dr. Carson has proven through his example and policy making that solutions guided by the principles of faith, liberty, community, and life are effective, and will point our nation toward the common good. Throughout his life, Dr. Carson has broken through barriers and has paved major roads in our political arena, both in Washington, D.C. and in communities across the country, and he's not stopping now. A champion for logic and common sense solutions, Dr. Carson will always stay true to his principles and his faith, which guide ACI through this volatile time in our nation. Dr. Carson is former Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is author of bestselling books: Gifted Hands, Think Big, A More Perfect Union, The Big Picture, America the Beautiful, and Created Equal. The discussion on America's Roundtable focuses on Israel's war against Iran-backed Hamas, Iran's proxies attacking US facilities, and the significance of America's sacrosanct ties with Israel. Dr. Carson addresses the rise of anti-Semitism in America. The conversation brings to the forefront the successful Abraham Accords and the urgency to hold to account Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. For a time, the likelihood of Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a physician seemed unlikely. Growing up in a single parent home with dire poverty, poor grades, a horrible temper, and low self-esteem appeared to preclude the realization of that dream until his mother, with only a third-grade education, challenged her sons to strive for excellence. She observed successful people and encouraged her sons to emulate their behaviors, including reading. This led to behavior changes which had a profound effect on their education. In 1973, Ben Carson graduated from Yale University. He became the inaugural recipient of a professorship dedicated in his name in May 2008. He is now the Emeritus Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D. and Dr. Evelyn Spiro, R.N. Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery, having retired on June 30, 2013. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. Evidence for criminal charges is now seen in plain view!  There's much more censorship and concealment of free speech by social media that goes far beyond Twitter and Hunter's laptop.  Officers of the social media corporations, not just Twitter, have conspired with government to perpetuate an extreme Democrat Liberal agenda. CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST FORMER TWITTER EXECUTIVES ARE NOW A MUST!  Do you really think that Donald Trump is now as much a villain as he's been portrayed to be?  You may not like what he has said or the way he's said it, but his words and concerns have now proven true!  Was Trump used by social media as the intended distraction from the most UNPRECEDENTED CRIME IN AMERICAN HISTORY … A STRUCTURAL SOCIAL MEDIA PUBLIC POLICY RESPONSE by US Congress is now needed. Shadow banning of Charlie Kirk and Dan Bongino is the tip of the iceberg?  In 2020 Dr. Jay Bhattacharya warned us that the COVID vaccine could be harmful.  He was immediately banned by Twitter.  Hypocrisy – Helping Britney Griner get out of Russia and leaving retired Marine Paul Whelan and others go unnoticed! … Another wrong by Joe Biden.  Another Democrat leaves the Democrat party.  Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema just left the Democrat Party.  She's now an Independent.  How many more Democrats will walk?“There are only two sides to this question. Every man must be for the United States or against it. There can be no neutrals in this war; only patriots and traitors."- Stephen DouglasOriginally Aired: WMXI Radio on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 7:15am CSTSeason 1, Episode 77WMXI Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/NewsRadio981Want More Interviews and TruthCasts?
