Welcome back to this week's episode where Toby and Nick discuss how the global elite, after a hard day's work saving the planet, like to pick up prostitutes in Davos. They consider Clarkson's recent column in the Sunday Times (and Toby's summary of it in the Daily Sceptic, which went viral) where Jeremy and his son discuss the war on free speech and Nick and Toby develop their idea for a reality show for cancelled celebrities. Nick talks about Steven Crowder turning down the Daily Wire's paltry $50 million offer and discusses his Daily Sceptic piece on the same being given a C– by an anonymous GETTR user. They go on to wonder why no-one is offering them $50 million dollars to appear on a YouTube channel, which Nick attributes to American media personalities having higher expectations than their British counterparts. Nick and Toby go on to describe the chasm between how celebs are treated in the UK compared to the US and they both lament about not getting enough make-up on GB News. This week's first sponsor is Thor Holt and you can find him here: https://thorholt.substack.com/ https://www.thorholt.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/thorholt/ or on his Telegram channel at @thor_holt (visit https://belle-epoque.co.uk/ for Thor's meet up) Toby and Nick talk about the hilarious parody Twitter account ‘TCMA' completely fooling the media while tweeting out that ‘Natural Woman' by Aretha Franklin was offensive and Lionel Richie's ‘Three times a Lady' was in fact a story about a non-binary person. And they wonder where the parody trans teacher with the large breasts went. Toby brings Nick up to speed about the latest Government plan to ban LGBT conversion therapy and why this might actually be much worse than it sounds. This week's second sponsor is Dan Gaskin at Crest Mortgages: https://www.crestmortgages.co.uk/ 0116 5023 000 Nick and Dr Will Jones discuss this week's pick of the best stories in the Daily Sceptic. SAScotty and his wife Lisa were offered their own show which they headlined for several years in Las Vegas before moving the family to Nashville. While in Nashville, Scotty was signed by Ray Hamilton to Merf Publishing as a writer/artist and worked for Brian David Willis as a ProTools editor on many big records, including Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Carly Pearce, and many more. In 2013-14 Scotty was music director for Hollywood recording artist and ABC's "Pretty Little Liars" star, Lucy Hale. Making TV appearances on Ellen, Good Morning America, Kelly and Michael and the Grand Ole Opry. For the last couple years Scotty has been writing and performing all over the Texas panhandle and west coast. "We have put out a few things over the years but I have never been so proud of the music we are writing and recording now. There was a period where the kind of country I play, more traditional, story and instrument driven tunes weren't cool. Now what I do is cool again, Thank God" SAWhat has already been an amazing journey is really just the beginning. Scotty's first solo album, "Guilty", was released in 2019 and his second, "Road We're On" is set to be released in the Fall of 2021. "Road We're On" includes the top 10 Texas Radio hit "Cowboy's Daughter" and the now charting single, "One More Reason". Scotty is also a 5 time Texas Country Music Nominee. We like to call him the best secret in country music, but not for long. Scotty's high-energy, classic country is taking fans by storm so this secret won't last long.MICHAEL MOLTHAN - M2 THE ROCK | CHARISMATIC SPEAKER | WE ARE ALL ADDICTSAs a result of being forgiving, grateful, and finally accepting his role in the trauma that he received, Michael Molthan can help others by sharing the supernatural experience he received and is still receiving as a result of true forgiveness.DALLAS, TX – Michael Molthan doesn't shy away from talking about his painful past of drug and alcohol addiction. On his talk show called, M2-The Rock, he shares how he went from building homes to being homeless."When I had the homebuilding company my behaviors were getting worse and worse," Molthan told CBN News. "My consequences were getting worse and worse."Molthan was arrested on a drug charge in 2009. "I had a large amount of cocaine in my truck," he explained. "I was intoxicated, and I was arrested. And I'll never forget that when they took me down to the jail, I had my very first mug shot."Hitting Rock Bottom 26 mug shots later, Molthan hit rock bottom. "When I look back, that's how the word powerless – I'm powerless over this deadly disease," he said. Feeling agitated, anxious, and facing three years behind bars, Molthan underwent a spiritual encounter after an inmate asked him to read to him. "I grab this book from a gang-banger, a black panther, and he used it as a pillow," he explained. "Brand new book and it was the Living Recovery Bible, New Living Translation. Now, these are black words on white paper at the time. They're not meaning anything to me. Next thing I know, four days have passed by and I started thinking about this and I go, four days just went by and I wasn't anxious. I wasn't in fear. I was calm, and I was at peace."Life-Changing MomentLater that night, he experienced another life-changing moment. "I couldn't breathe," he recounted. "All of a sudden I felt all this trash and hatred and anger and resentment and everything just coming out of my body like flies. All this stuff was just coming out. And I just took this breath and I just go something magical happened and I was full of love, and looking around I loved everybody." "I started preaching and I didn't realize what I was doing," he said. "And I did it at the end of every dinner."Paperwork Error Leads to Early ReleaseIn 2017, a paperwork error led to Molthan's accidental release. So, with no money or food, he walked 300 miles to ask judge Jennifer Bennett to send him back to jail. "I walk in there to turn myself in and I'm excited," says Molthan. "I'm like, 'I'm going to go back to prison. I'm going to do my time, get this over with and get this behind me.' I mean, complete acceptance. God is running the show, right?"He continued, "I walk in there and Judge Bennett says, 'Mr. Molthan there's obviously someone a lot bigger working in your life than me and I'm not going to get in the way.' And she set me free. And she said, 'I want you to come back tomorrow with the self-correct program. I want you to go pay it forward."'And Molthan is doing just that by sharing his story of freedom and sobriety with those seeking help for addiction.Helping Others Trapped by AddictionMichael Molthan's passion is to help people by “raising the bottom” so that no one has to experience the pain that he endured.Molthan's speaking style is so relatable and he loves sharing his love for God and Jesus Christ.M2 is quoted by saying:“When It Comes To Religion I Am An Atheist BUT When It Comes To The Gospel, The Truth, and The Word of God I Am All In”!To inquire about Michael Molthan's rates and availability, email M2@M2THEROCK.COMwww.M2THEROCK.COM

Heather K. Margolis, the founder of Channel Maven and Spark My Channel, joins Channelnomics' Changing Channels host Larry Walsh to discuss how marketing to and through channel partners is changing and what most technology companies get wrong. If you want sales, you need to start with marketing. It's a well-worn refrain in the channel that partners are subpar at marketing. According to Channelnomics research, between 60% and 80% of partners have no marketing plans, and the majority lack marketing capabilities. Such shortcomings necessitate that vendors pick up the load for producing materials and messaging to promote products and services. Yet partners frequently say the availability and quality of the marketing support they get from vendors is insufficient or ineffective. The evolving use of digital tools to convey messages, identify and cultivate customers, and reinforce value messages challenges vendors and partners to up their marketing game. Successful vendors produce more diverse marketing content, leveraging tools such as through-channel marketing automation (TCMA) and training partners in marketing techniques to produce more fruitful results. In this episode of Changing Channels, Margolis and Walsh revive their long-running Sibling Rivalry chats to discuss what vendors and partners need to do better channel marketing. 2020's pandemic changed the world in many ways—especially when it comes to channel marketing. Traditionally, a significant portion of channel marketing activities have focused on face-to-face engagements in the form of events, tradeshows, roadshows, partner training, etc. However, the pandemic lockdowns and social distancing pretty much eliminated most face-to-face events. This led to a rapid evolution of digital marketing in a very short period of time. As part of this trend, the adoption of channel marketing software that offers a variety of remote marketing tools also accelerated. In this article, we will explore how and why the adoption of channel marketing software accelerated due to COVID-19. The world has been on a rapid digitization trend over the past few decades, but 2020 rocket-fueled the adoption of many digital platforms starting with tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other types of collaboration software. Leading channel marketing software platforms have always been at the center of channel collaboration, because you can use them to seamlessly digitize workflow and content sharing across various groups of partners and channel stakeholders. Remote collaboration in the channel has been always focused on driving partner ease of use and lowering friction across various parts of the channel value chain. With the advent of integrated partner relationship management (PRM) tools and through-channel marketing automation (TCMA) tools, channel marketing software has focused on all aspects of remote marketing, including “market to,” “market through” and “market with” activities. Let's discuss these activities in a bit more detail and explore how channel marketing software can help: “Market to” – Traditionally, marketing to partners or prospecting for partners put a premium on advertising and events where a vendor promoted its wares as well as its programs. If prospective partners had interest, they would call into the vendor channel support line and sign up for a program to see if they qualified. This required a kind of mass marketing approach; narrowcasting was not available. However, with today's leading channel marketing software tools, a vendor can laser-target a set of potential partners directly (via newsletters and other vehicles) or narrowcast via various social networks and channel content sites. This engagement can be fully digital, and traffic from those sites and sources can be driven to a central site where a vendor can run webinars (live or on-demand), showcase various customer and partner success stories, and have very specific calls to action to sign up for programs. These tools were around in the pre-pandemic world, but COVID-19 pushed marketers back home and made these tools a central part of outbound marketing. Needless to say, as we exit the pandemic constraints and start mixing again in face-to-face events, digital will continue to dominate and channel marketing software will be able to provide a seamless, integrated platform to channel marketers for both digital and physical activities. Based on customer usage data and ROI, we can also confidently forecast that digital ROI will always outpace the ROI of physical events, although the latter will probably still be necessary to maximize reach. The pandemic won't stop physical events forever, but we have now shifted decisively to a digital space and we will all be trying to optimize activities around it. “Market through” – When a vendor grows, and its channel partner ecosystem grows, it tends to focus on partner-led demand generation activities. In early stages of growth, most vendors drive awareness of their products and solutions to the end-buyers themselves, but as the brand and category awareness increase, vendors tend to focus more on their partner base as a major source of new lead generation and business. This is where channel marketing software can significantly augment a vendor's lead generation effort by providing partners wit...
If you manage a distributed network of partners and they are more than just a fulfillment arm for you, then chances are you have considered through-channel marketing automation (TCMA). In this article we will explore one of the core tactics of TCMA—email marketing—and how it can be used as a part of your overall TCMA strategy. While email marketing has been around for a while, it’s not always used effectively. Refining your email marketing tactics can enable your channel partners to generate leads in a low-cost, highly effective fashion. First, let’s briefly discuss what email marketing is and how TCMA-based email marketing tactics may differ from your direct email marketing efforts. We all know that email marketing was very likely the first digital marketing tool that marketers used, starting in the early 2000s. While we suffered through a plague of spam emails during much of that period—and even today a few of those spam emails get through the spam filters—it’s important to emphasize effective email marketing is NOT spam. Email marketing today relies heavily on obtaining end-users’ or target consumers’ email addresses through some sort of an opt-in mechanism, as opposed to various nefarious harvesting mechanisms that spammers use to collect or spoof email addresses. Once a proper prospect or buyer has signed up to receive emails from a provider, then and only then can a marketer use that medium to reach out in an appropriate way. This kind general leverages some kind of a marketing automation tool that relies on text-based or HTML-based email templates. In most cases, these templates are highly customized to convey a set of news, messages and/or offers that is likely to attract the interest of the targeted audiences. Now, when it comes to email marketing tools for TCMA-related activities, it is important to have several critical features that are not necessarily relevant for direct email marketing tactics. These TCMA-specific capabilities include: Template setup: In the case of direct email marketing, you set up templates predominantly for your own use or for a set of peers to use. However, in case of TCMA email marketing, you set up a master template that can be used by your channel partners, and you may decide to set up multiple templates for multiple partners and allow them to customize or not. Approval routing: This is a critical feature in TCMA. This is used in cases where you may want your partners to send you their changes before allowing them to use a modified version of your master template. The primary purpose of approval routing is to maintain control over your message and brand positioning Co-branding: If you are requesting that your partners use your email templates, they will very likely want to add their logos and contact information, and some may also want to add customized content to augment your offer in order to, for instance, showcase their own expertise around your solutions. Multi-touch: Drip marketing began to appear in the mid 2000s. This is a tactic where—based on the action a targeted consumer of your email—you may send a second or third follow-up email or “touch.” This tactic has evolved rapidly since those early days and is often an important part of integrated campaigns deploying a range of tactics. Drip marketing is a particularly effective tactic for through-channel marketing automation. Click metrics: One of the most important features in email marketing for TCMA is the ability to track who opened and clicked through emails. When you are running multi-touch email campaigns, it is often very useful to track the success of your follow-on tactics and so you can identify the most effective messaging and offers and focus on that. In addition to these core five areas, other features that tend to be important in a through-channel marketing automation (TCMA) email marketing tool include things like multi-tenant capabilities, copying, editing, reviewing, tagging and searching.

What is TCMA? TCMA stands for through-channel marketing automation. Through-Channel Marketing is a system that enables organizations to scale advertising and local marketing messaging through their networks of indirect retailers, dealers, distributors, reseller agents, affiliates and other partners. Jay McBain, Principal Analyst, Channel Partnerships & Alliances“According to Forrester research, only about half of brands have implemented TCMA, with only 17% fully satisfied that they are getting the most from the systems. We believe that there will be significant interest in this third stage over the next few years.” What’s the issue? When you are scaling a partner program, you will run into channel conflict wherein either: Someone in your sales department is receiving a commission on top of the referral fee you are having to pay partners for that same deal, or Two partners are claiming attribution over the same referral. Some of this can be solved with your CRM, but when you have partners assisting in promotions of your sales collateral and marketing content, you will need to attribute the right clicks to the right partner. Now, attribution is what typically breaks down as your program becomes larger and more content is flying around. This is the premise of today’s discussion. And, a special shoutout to the team at CallRail.com for creating a product helping teams attribute phone calls. They are our category leader for call tracking and we’ll be working with their fantastic partner team throughout 2020. Without further delay, let’s start this discussion on attribution in TCMA…

If you’re new to TCMA, it stands for through-channel marketing automation - a system that enables organizations to scale advertising and local marketing messaging through their networks of indirect retailers, dealers, distributors, resellers, affiliates and other partners. The reason I want to discuss attribution is due to channel conflict at scale in your partner program. You will run into channel conflict wherein either: Someone in your sales department is receiving a commission on top of the referral fee you are having to pay partners for that same deal, or Two partners are claiming attribution over the same referral. Some of this can be solved with your CRM, but when you have partners assisting in promotions of your sales collateral and marketing content, you will need to attribute the right clicks to the right partner.

How TCMA Differs From General Marketing Automation With cloud technology and high-speed internet, sales and marketing automation software companies sprouted up like weeds. Now, where there were once over 150 marketing automation software companies, there are now about five major players. Companies created automation software to take all the bits of marketing from email campaigns to social media campaigns to direct marketing and automate many of those processes for maximum efficiency. Traditional marketing automation tools focus solely on the brand itself and how to market the brand to the world. TCMA focuses on marketing through various channels, partnerships, and alliances to reach a larger audience in a more individualized and organic way. Because this means working with many channels, the automation process is more complex with many permutations requiring a multi-layered and faceted automation process. Why TCMA Is The Third-Stage Of Marketing and Sales Transformation Sales and marketing leaders are tasked with increasing sales and profit margins quarter over quarter, but the market share is ever changing. Rather than increasing the number of salespeople, increasing the number of marketing partners makes the most sense for many businesses in many industries. Your product is vetted by your channels and then marketed to their audiences, giving your business a wider reach than experienced in the past. Jay uses Microsoft to illustrate the need for TCMA. Microsoft has over four-hundred thousand partners and brings on over seven-thousand five-hundred new partners each month. Microsoft runs a new campaign every month that has to be replicated four-hundred thousand times for each individual partner. Successful integration and on-brand marketing could not be accomplished by human managers alone, thus the need for TCMA. How Success Is Measured And Defined With TCMA. Companies measure the success of TCMA through the return on investment of the direct funding of partners with marketing tools and adoption of those tools. Because large channels might pay out billions of dollars in marketing funding to their partners, there are checks and balances in place to curtail fraud and overpayments. Measuring the actual return by the partners in the channel is one way to measure success. The overall adoption of the automation tools by the partners is another way of measuring success. The vendor or brand invests large sums of money into the automation tools, marketing materials, and training, and when properly adopted, the returns increase. Many partners, however, want the marketing tasks done for them rather than adopting the systems provided to them. This is specifically problematic within the technology industry. Why Adoption Rates In Technology Are Low And How This Is Changing Jay delves deeper into the challenges in the technology space by referencing the book The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. Essentially, many companies started in the last 20 to 30 years did so without much help from automation. The owners don’t see the value of changing the way they market to their customers and as such, they don’t see the need to integrate TCMA into their current marketing process. This mindset is steadily shifting as more millennials make their way into leadership roles and look to make their mark in the technology space. Jay stated that he sees the tide of adoption rates steadily increasing in the technology sector as those millennials drive the third stage of marketing transformation forward. Listen in to learn more about hybrid distribution models and how the tools for marketing automation are layered for maximum efficiency. Bernie and Jay also discuss how sales and marketing integration has affected the channel and partnership departments. Additionally, learn why Jay believes market consolidation is on the horizon for TCMA software companies. This is an episode you won’t want to miss. For around a year now, Jay McBain has been the Principal Analyst for Global Channels at Forrester Research, a position built upon a distinguished career partner marketing. In addition to his work with Forrester, Jay is an accomplished speaker, author and innovator in the IT industry. TCMA market is growing because B2B2C marketing professionals see distributed and local marketing as key to influencing new buyers. In this new world, having super squared-away marketing is no longer a nice-to-have.
We talk with our guest this week about his father's T206 Honus Wagner card, his dads TCMA set, and his latest upcoming projects.
It's the NEO Trio (see what we did there!) Engine starting. This is the most common thing we do with them so seems like a good place to start. The sequence is still the same but helpfully, Airbus have decided to change the names of the controls, so, the ENG MASTER switch' is now called ‘ENG MASTER lever' And the ‘ENG MODE selector' is now called ‘ENG START selector' So as you do with the CEO, you turn the ENG START selector to IGN/START and this brings up the engine system page and closes off the pack valve. When the engine master Lever is set to 'on' the start sequence begins. On the CEO, the sequence runs like this, The LP fuel valve opens Start valve is opened APU speed is increased (if that's being used for start) If starting in the ground, When N2> 16% ignitions starts. In the air it's immediate On the ground, when N2> 22% the HP Fuel valve opens. In flight it's when N2> 15% Once the N2 gets above 50% the start valve closes, the igniter goes off unless in the air, the APU speed reduces to normal speed and the pack valve remains closed for 30 seconds (which you will already know of course because we discussed that a few months ago in our air conditioning episode!) So what does the LEAP engine do? Well for a start (no pun intended), the FADEC will initiate ignition and fuel flow at an optimal point during the start process instead of at defined N2 values like the CEO. The numbers stated in the FCOM are pretty much the same, >15% N2 for ignition start (immediately if airborne) and >20% N2 for the HP fuel valve to open both on the ground and in the air. As you can see, the procedure is the same, turn the engine start selector to ignition and then move the desired engine master lever to on. Now, after starting, we normally do the approximate check of the engine parameters saying 2,4,6 and 3 Representing N1 / EGT / N2 / FF are 20% / 400°C / 60% / 300kg/hr On the NEO, the Basic check of idle parameters is slightly different. The middle two figures have increase by one so it's 2,5,7 and 3 representing N1 / EGT / N2 / FF are 20% / 500°C / 70% / 300kg/hr The biggest difference with the start is a new function performed by FADEC called pre-start motoring or dry cranking. Depending on the thermal state of the engine, FADEC will dry crank for up to 60 seconds prior to initiation of the start sequence. This can happen on both automatic and manual starts. During this motoring, FADEC will limit the N2 to a maximum of about 30%. Just for some additional, geeky, background information the reason for this is because After shutting down, the engine components cool at different rates because of natural convection, and this leads to varying thermal gradients across the shaft section of the engine which can cause vibration. So this cranking protects the engine, Airbus' term is Bow Rotor Protection by spinning the engine up getting airflow through it and makes the heat dissipate evenly throughout the hot section components prior to engine start. Airbus have also changed some of the terminology around the engines idle states. IDLE What was 'modulated idle' on the CEO is now called ‘Minimum Idle' on the NEO. Approach Idle, which is a higher thrust setting than Minimum Idle to allow the engines to accelerate from Idle to TOGA thrust in the required regulatory time is now set when landing flap is selected (CONF 3 or FULL) or if the gear is selected down. For the CEO, Approach Idle is set when the flap lever is not in the zero position, basically with selection of Flap 1. Max oil quantity is increased from 22QTS to 24.25QTS. Minimum QTY increased from 9.5qt + 0.5qt/hour to 10.6qt + 0.45qt/hour. Minimum oil temperature for start increased from -40°C to -29°C Minimum oil temperature for take-off increased from -10°C to +19°C, so quite a difference there. Starter limits are now as follows, Starter: Maximum number of start attempts reduced from four to three. Pause between start attempts increased from 20s to 60s Maximum running engagement of starter increased from 20% N2 to 59% N2 The EGT limits have changed and the amber and red bands reflect this. The operation is the same so we're not going to read off all these figures and they'll just get lost in our minds. N1 Max has been reduced from 104% to 101% and N2 MAX has increased from 105% to 116.5% The vibration displays have changed giving three options now, green, pulsing green and amber. The amber indication isn't available on the CEO. This also come with a new ECAM alert which triggers when the high vibration threshold is reached on N1 or N2. Crew are then directed to action the High Engine Vibration Checklist. The ECAM will say, HI ENG VIB PROC...................................................................................................APPLY Of course on the CEO you just get the advisory pulsing. Next, wind limitations, yep, they've changed those too! Wind limitation for starting: Max crosswind 45kts. The crosswinds are different for take off and landing like they used to be with A max of 35kts for T.OFF and 38kts for Landing. For automatic landing and roll-out: Max Headwind 20kts Max Tailwind 5kts - Max Crosswind 15kts Turbulence Penetration Speeds have been increased from 250kts to 260kts (below FL200) and from 275kts to 280kts (above FL200). An Engine run-up is only required on the NEO if icing conditions exceed 60mins (it is 30mins on the CEO). After the 60 minutes, the engines should be increased to 70% for at least 5 seconds. When operating in ground fog icing conditions, an engineering inspection should be performed on the engine if take-off not performed with 120mins Something that's worth mentioning for those of you operating outside of Europe, the NEO has a restriction in the landing flap at high altitude airports. If the airport pressure altitude >2000ft, you have to use Flap 3 for approach if a minimum go around gradient of 4% can't be achieved. Theres a table in the FCOM-LIM section where you can check the restricting weight - most are well above MLW. This flap restriction will only occur below MLW at very high temperatures or very high pressure altitudes). Probably the most noticeable difference for the crew is the automatic anti icing system. Within the engine, the NEO will automatically introduce hot air to the engine core when required to prevent ice crystal formation in the CORE of the engine, 'CORE ICE PROT' is displayed on the ENG SD when it's active. It Also has a Booster Anti-Ice for prevention of ice in the booster section of the engine (‘BOOST ICE PROT' is indicated on ENG SD Page when it's active. Remember though, these new features are only for internal anti-icing and don't remove the requirements for us to use engine anti ice Another feature that's been added is protection against uncontrolled high thrust during critical phases of flight. This is called Thrust Control Malfunction Accommodation (TCMA) and is active on the ground and during takeoff and the approach phase. The TCMA protection logic will reduce fuel flow in flight or shutoff fuel on the ground, whenever an over-thrust condition is detected. There's also something called a Transient Bleed Valve (TBV) which reduces the risk of engine stall during acceleration or deceleration of the engine. There are some new memos which appear on the E/WD which are only available when the thrust levers are in TOGA or FLX/MCT detent. They are all displaying in a line above the N1 gauges. With PACK pb-sw selected ON, 'PACKS' (MEMO) When WAI is selected ON, 'WAI' (MEMO) When EAI is selected ON, 'NAI' (MEMO) FADEC has some new features too. Transmission of vibration information to cockpit indicators Protection against engine stall and engine flame-out Thrust Control Malfunction Accommodation Protection against bowed rotor during engine start on ground Terminology difference: The CEO FADEC is also referred to as the ECU (Engine Control Unit). The NEO FADEC is referred to as the EEC (Electronic Engine Control).

Let’s begin this discussion by taking a stab at defining through-channel marketing automation (TCMA). What does it really mean? Basically, it’s about enabling channel partners to generate leads by using marketing assets and a set of marketing tools provided by a vendor or company. The entire purpose of through-channel marketing automation is to enable partners to create brand presence by leveraging the vendor brand and associating it with their own brand, and then driving demand for a set of solutions that include offerings from the The post Must-Haves for Through-Channel Marketing Automation appeared first on ZINFI.
