For decades, gut health was reduced to yogurt commercials and vague promises from probiotics that barely worked. But what if we've been targeting the wrong bugs, using the wrong delivery, and ignoring the true source of chronic inflammation and accelerated aging? In this thought-provoking episode, Dave sits down with Hannah Kleinfeld, a leader in microbiome innovation, to expose why most probiotics fail—and how one company's scientifically validated approach could redefine your gut, brain, immune system, and even your metabolism. You'll learn how dysbiosis may be wrecking your brain without you knowing it, why your probiotic likely died in your stomach acid, and the secret to rebooting your microbiome after antibiotics, GLP-1 drugs, or years of toxic exposure. This isn't just about digestion—your gut controls your cravings, energy, sleep, mood, and aging trajectory. So what's the one upgrade that can actually reset your gut… for good? What You'll Learn in This Episode: • Why your gut—not your brain—is making most of your decisions • How 93% of probiotics on the market fail before they reach your intestines • The “AB 10” protocol that rebuilds your gut after antibiotics or SIBO • What GLP-1 weight-loss drugs are doing to your microbiome (and how to stop it) • The shocking gut–brain–heart axis connection you've never heard of • Why inflammation, brain fog, and mood swings may start with leaky gut • Which probiotic strains are clinically proven to improve cognition and mood • What to do if you want to eat gluten again—or survive American wheat • How a fermented papaya concentrate could replace your acid reflux meds • Why optimizing your gut could extend your lifespan by 40% ***Get 20% off your next purchase by going to https://omnibioticlife.com/pages/dave-asprey/ or omnibioticlife.com/dave*** SPONSORS -Timeline | Head to https://www.timeline.com/dave to get 10% off your first order. -Zbiotics | Go to https://zbiotics.com/DAVE for 15% off your first order. The Misuse and Abuse of Antibiotics, and their Consequences – The question I have for you, are you using Medications, Antibiotics and Vaccinations Properly? Our Special Guest is Dr. Rodrigo Gallardo a Poultry Veterinarian, from UC Davis is here to address this very important and controversial subject.  We all know how beneficial antibiotics and vaccinations can be. If used properly, and for the right reasons, these medical miracles can accomplish great things. However, many are using these so-called miracle drugs as an end all or fix all to all their medical and disease related problems.  They see a sniffle or sneeze, and they immediately shoot a half cc of Tylan 200 into the breast, and believe they are good to go. Instead of giving their birds a proper treatment plan, one that is accurately diagnosed, they rely on old wives' tales, such as - “At the first signs of sickness, inject them with antibiotics, and to make sure they never get sick, vaccinate the entire flock for every known disease.” What's their overall plan? To use the shotgun approach by over medicating. But truth be told, they are creating a bigger mess than they realize. One that is going to affect them and their chickens later down the road.  Today, we are talking with Poultry Veterinarian, Dr. Rodrigo Gallardo about the use and misuse of Antibiotics and Vaccinations, and the consequences of these practices.  We're also going to talk about how to use them properly, and when to avoid them. It is my hope that you will gain a greater understanding of their uses, and the consequences of doing it wrong.

Pig farmers across the UK have reduced their use of antibiotics in their herds by 75% over the last eight years. That's according to figures released by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board. A 30% reduction target in total antibiotic had been set by a Targets Task Force (TTF) between 2020 and 2024, so this has now been passed. We asked the Pig Veterinary Society, whether the reduction was large, because farmers had been using too much antibiotic in the past. Wales is famous for its lamb, which has protected geographical status and is exported across the world. The same can't be said for its wool however, in fact the fleece from a typical Welsh mountain sheep can fetch less than thirty pence, it costs far more than that to shear the animal. Work has now started to breed a variety of sheep that's good for its lamb and its wool. All week we've been visiting a big country estate, where farming, tourism and conservation have to work hand in hand. The Holkham National Nature Reserve is managed by Natural England and the estate itself. It's an internationally recognised site for breeding birds, but it's also part of the estate's grazing area for their 800 beef cattle. Getting the balance right, on sensitive marshland just behind the dunes on the coast, is crucial. Presenter = Anna Hill Producer = Rebecca Rooney

When it comes to animal agriculture, most animals aren't living freely pasturing in wide-spaced green areas. Breeders and animal farms are more likely to be torturous prisons than the happy Uncle Bill farm that appears on the logo of your favorite hamburgers. And guess what? It comes at a cost to your health.   The animal industry is regulated differently by each country, but there's one thing in common: meat from sick animals can't be commercialized, but with the living conditions of the animals, they are inevitably going to get sick. So “naturally”, the animals in farms are medically treated to prevent or combat infectious diseases, most of which are treated with antibiotics.   You know the age-old saying: You are what you eat. The Misuse and Abuse of Antibiotics, and their Consequences – The question I have for you is, are you using Medications, Antibiotics and Vaccinations Properly? Our Special Guest is Dr. Rodrigo Gallardo – He's a Poultry Veterinarian, from UC Davis. Join Kenny Troiano and his co-hosts, Frank Bradley as we discuss the benefits of creating your own strain, and the issues that affect breeders like you. This is a show you do not want to miss! On tomorrow's Ag Business Episode I am profiling a very impressive entrepreneur with a passion for wool. I also have a passion for wool, which was reflected in this solo episode from 2019.  Below are the original show notes: Show Notes Me and the whole family were back up in the Wood River Valley of Idaho this weekend so that I could elk hunt.  It just so happened that a friend of ours had a condo available that they could not use this weekend. So, the whole family was able to go. I hunted during the days, and I was able to hang out with Autumm and Hattie in the evenings.  Because of the short days, we actually ended up with quite a bit of time together, so it worked out really well. For my outdoor clothing I prefer to wear wool to any other fabric, natural or man made.  After this weekend, I really want to solute all those farmers who are producing wool.  On my first evening I got my pickup stuck and was out in the middle of nowhere in a snow storm for quite a while.  I was dressed in wool base layers, socks, pants and a heavy wood sweater.  I was dry and warm, and the wind just did not have that much impact on me. The next two days I spent climbing steep slopes in about 2 feet of snow in pursuit of these elusive big game animals.  Between taking every step knee deep into snow and laying prone in the snow several times I never got cold or wet.  The wool clothing did just as advertised, and I could not have been more pleased.  This miracle fabric is an excellent investment!
