My Right to Die? - David Webster - DTI 14 Feb 2025 by The Church of God in Manchester
As we step into a new year, we're fixing our hearts on Jesus and committing to PRAY FIRST. Just like Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, we're crying out, “Oh, that You would bless me!” Jabez's story reminds us that no matter what labels or pain have marked our past, God is able to rewrite the narrative with His blessing and grace. This is our prayer: That we would seek God first, align with His heart, and walk in the fullness of His favor. Let's step into 2025 with faith, declaring that His plans are good and His blessings are abundant. Take a moment to call on Him—He's ready to meet you right where you are. #PrayFirst #JesusFirst #BlessedAndRedeemed

David Webster is a father of two wonderful sons, married to his best friend Brandi for 33 years this fall, a blue collar worker at the same trade for 33 years, and has ran his own business for 25 years now. Just a standard, steady individual, no higher education or specialized training at anything really, only acquiring knowledge about different subjects informally along the way. As a child, Dave always had an interest in exploring the outdoors, curious about the natural world and life's mysteries. All through life he enjoyed documentaries like Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, In Search Of, Monster Quest, and others. Vacations as a child with his family usually involved the outdoors and camping. His parents instilled a love of nature in him and his brother. Most of all, though, they instilled a love for God and the bible in him. He grew up immersed in a Christian religious setting. In spite of this, he never considered himself a religious person. He always seemed to view all that he learned about God through more of a scientific lens than one of a religious nature. While he always enjoyed the company of others, he generally was most comfortable when he was in a quiet place. These feelings intensified as he got older and it brought him to a low point with his faith and caused him to withdraw. At about the same point in time, late summer 2014, he became aware of a seminar being presented at his local library on Bigfoot. He attended with his youngest son and one of his sons friends. He was amazed at the number of reports by seemingly credible people. This information put him on a path of intense study of the subject in his free time. He decided to try to look for himself to see what was out there. Little did he know at the time, his life would never be the same again after this.RICH DANIELS BOOK: Footprints In The Mindhttps://www.amazon.com/Footprints-Mind-Bigfoot-Witness-Experience/dp/B0D6KR3BPT/ref=sr_1_2?crid=10LM56YGX5WYZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.JCTjoreo6Ms3stFSFenPyZP8B3bYaAvszvcwY_ci4SM.NMUFlDOpfevsG_OgrjDL05CMCrv4dLh3u2lqFDRR2Wk&dib_tag=se&keywords=footprints+in+the+mind+rich+daniels&qid=1722477508&sprefix=footprints+in+the+mind%2Caps%2C128&sr=8-2Click that play button, and let's unravel the mysteries of the UNTOLD! With each passing year, it seems like I meet more and more people who do not celebrate or do not like Christmas. They believe Christmas originated as a pagan holiday. They have been taught and told that Christmas is simply a “Christianized” pagan holiday. In the same fashion that we should not celebrate Halloween because of its origins, they believe we should not celebrate Christmas. But, is it true??? Is Christmas really just a copycat of a pagan holiday? Did Christians rip-off a pagan holiday and create Christmas? Did Christians 1900 years ago (when Christmas first started being celebrated) decide to celebrate Christmas so they could keep their pagan traditions? We will answer those questions and more in today's episode! This week's featured song (used by permission): “The First Noel” by David Webster from the CD – “The Sounds of Christmas”. To purchase the CD this song is featured on, please visit: https://nvpublications.org/products/the-sounds-of-christmas

Lorraine Rekmans, the president of the Green Party of Canada, complains that the police, as can be expected, have treated the protesting truckers vastly more leniently than they normally treat indigenous protesters, who are normally far more civil in their acts of disobedience. David Webster, who has engaged in protests in Canada and on behalf of the East Timorese independence movement, concurs. Jill Carr-Harris, a Gandhian organizer of protest movements in India, notes that the farmers' protest has been influenced, as all movements in India still are, by the Gandhian tradition, which is highly disciplined. All the guests are concerned by the loss of democracy, notably in the US, but also in Canada. The failings of Canada cannot properly be attributed to American white supremacy. Jason gives you a quick overview of what was needed to make the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944 a reality. For more information on this topic:Stephen Ambrose's Band of Brothers is a wonderfully readable account, but you're better reading the memoir from which he plagiarized most of it: David Webster's Parachute Infantry. HBO's adaptation of Band of Brothers is great, as well.George Koskimaki's D-Day with the Screaming Eagles is a wonderful firsthand account which uses the author's own experiences mixed with those of his fellow soldiers. Don Burgett's Curahee! A Paratrooper's Account of the Normandy Invasion is another excellent memoir. Find us on Twitter:The Network: @UFPEarth. The Show: @SzilagyiHistory.Chrissie: @TheGoddessLivia. David Webster reminds Metta that the Spanish Flu killed more people than World War I, and that in the aftermath, people realized the need for an international body to coordinate global medical responses, so the League of Nations created such an organization, which functioned until it was succeeded by the World Health Organization, when the League was succeeded by the UN. We also talk about other pandemics, such as malaria and smallpox.

This time I thought it would be useful to try to do something slightly different. Given that many teachers and lecturers have had on-line learning foisted about them due to the Covid-19 crisis, I thought it would be helpful to talk to an expert about ways of delivering on-line learning. I spoke with Dr David Webster who is the Director of the Centre for Innovation in Learning & Teaching at SOAS, University of London. Dave and I discussed the benefits and pitfalls of on-line learning, synchronous and asynchronous delivery, blended learning, managing student expectations, the value of focusing on structure and specifics, managing behaviour in online forums, ideas about segmenting on-line classes and a host of other practical tips and ideas to help us cope with the huge changes our teaching is currently going through. Barnard was sentenced to life imprisonment in June 1998 after being convicted on numerous charges including, murder, attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and unlawful possession of firearms. One of the two murder charges was in connection with the killing of anti-apartheid activists and Wits University academic Dr David Webster in 1989. Webster was shot and killed at the behest of the apartheid police's security branch, the Civil Co-operation Bureau (CCB). In reaching the decision to grant parole, Minister Masutha says that Mr Barnard has met all requirements for parole

In this episode, Webster returns to a less than welcoming response from his comrades in Easy, and Lt. Jones joins the company pretty much straight out of West Point on his way up the ladder. And, as usual, Easy is tasked with a potentially dangerous patrol to get some prisoners over other companies despite their exhaustion and the fact that they've been on the front lines pretty much since D-Day. It's almost 30 years since the late Frederick Van Zyl Slabbert led a group of five dozen white South Africans to Dakar for a historic first meeting with Thabo Mbeki's 17-person ANC delegation. Slabbert, the one-time Leader of the Official Opposition who abandoned Parliament in disgust, was accompanied by leading anti-apartheid protagonists like Breyten Breytenbach, Andre Brink, Willie Esterhuyse, Max du Preez, Alistair Sparks and Jimi Matthews. Among the the group was Geoff Johnson, then an executive at the SA Perm, who had joined the ANC a year before after activist David Webster. After Webster was assassinated on May 1, 1989, Johnson decided to relocate to the UK where he has remained a committed supporter of all things South African. Among them is his creation of the biggest annual charity golf day in the Northern Hemisphere where he taps into the disapora "SA's 10th province" to raise funds for worth causes back home. In almost 20 years, the golf day has sent almost £2m to SA charities. Johnson was one of the earliest employees at St James's Place, the FTSE 100 wealth management business established in 1991 by fellow South African Sir Mark Weinberg. Here's Johnson's story. He tales us along road winding from disrupting rebel sports tours through to being an early stage employee at two massive businesses built by among SA's finest entrepreneurs. Fascinating.

Welcome. I have wanted to do this for quite a while now, post a site that enables anyone to listen to or download sermons from our church. Time it seems can be a small object, can never fit enough into it!First we had to upgrade our recording capabilities to digital quality, which has happened in the last year. Amongst many other projects & programs our church family were involved in.I will also post news in the blog as it comes to hand. Our God is great and he has blessed our church family in growth this last couple of years to the point of us requiring more room, and has answered our prayers, with new extensions starting this week. Also Our Minister and family Paul, Karina & family will soon be moving into a new manse that will be finished early next month.I will be changing and adding more to this site each week, so stay tuned.David Webster
