Over the past year or so, rumors have percolated surrounding a future PlayStation handheld, but in reality, no one knew what the exact nature of this hypothetical device would be. Could it be a successor to PSP and Vita? Or perhaps a portable PS4 or PS4 Pro? Well, it's neither of those things, if recent reporting is accurate. Instead, Sony is apparently building a fully portable PlayStation 5, which -- if accurate -- could completely upend not only the core gaming market, but the traditional cadence of console generations, full-stop. But perhaps the biggest question about a PS5 Portable is this: What does it mean for PlayStation 6? Other news this week includes an update to Sony's pursuit of Kadokawa Corporation, the retirement of legendary PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida after 31 years with the brand (and 38 years at Sony itself), a surprise upward revision of PlayStation 2's once-static sales number, and much more. We round things out with listener inquiries, as we always do. Do we have any preliminary "gaming plans" for 2025? Will the west's catastrophic demographic collapse have equally catastrophic ramifications for the gaming space? What does it mean when a game (or gamer) is called "sweaty"? Have we officially reached peak "Fantasy Slop Nerd" voice? Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement. 0:00:00 - Intro 0:27:35 - Chris Chan's spawn 0:35:10 - Bluesky 0:55:19 - Sacred celebrity look-alikes 0:56:44 - Fantasy nerd slop voice 0:59:47 - PS5 selling faster than PS1 1:02:26 - Alan Wake corrections 1:04:35 - Updated PS2 sales numbers 1:10:17 - Troy Baker is in Naughty Dog's next game 1:20:43 - My First Gran Turismo 1:24:03 - Helldivers 2 Controller incoming 1:32:18 - Dino Crisis and RE: Directors Cut can be bought a la carte 1:34:49 - Cyberpunk 2077 surpasses 30 million, Witcher 4 is in production 1:37:34 - What Are We Playing? 2:19:39 - PlayStation is working on a new handheld 2:40:32 - Kadokawa updates 2:54:45 - Shuhei Yoshida is leaving PlayStation 3:17:48 - New PS Plus games coming 3:26:10 - Gaming mission statements for 2025 3:35:29 - Gaming needs new markets to grow 3:42:04 - What does being "sweaty" mean? 3:47:41 - AI gaming companies This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Taco Bell recently unveiled a 2.0 version of its digital-forward Go Mobile restaurant, about three years after the initial concept was introduced in the throes of the pandemic. The updated asset will play a big role as the chain targets 10,000 units “in the coming years,” and will also support parent company Yum Brands' goal of reaching 100% in digital sales transactions.Elements of this design – including a walk-up window and dedicated parking for digital and third-party orders and grab-and-go shelves – will be incorporated into future builds. Notably, Go Mobile 2.0 comes as Yum's digital sales exceed 45%.Still, it's important to note this iteration is about much more than just supporting the digital customer. Scott Mezvinsky, managing director, North America, Taco Bell, said the model should also boost franchisee profitability and alleviate employee “pinch points,” especially during the rapidly returning late-night daypart. Here with more is executive editor Alicia Kelso.

Othmane nous recommande les livres suivants : 7 Habits of highly effective people, Who moved my cheese ? Crossing the Chasm

We hear about all the ways marketers miss the mark - what they do wrong. What if we focused on what they are doing right and then expand the use of those tactics? Some companies have a team of one or less than five and each must wear several hats. If, as a group, you lay out what is working, analyze the results through Google Analytics and pulling in all the pieces, as a group, you can tackle what is next. It may be enhancing the most popular pages you have to ensure you move people along on the journey toward a conversation with your sales team. It may be creating a podcast or other content that appeals to your existing customers as the "inside group" rather than only talking to them when you want to sell them something new. Jeanne Hopkins goes through ways to bring out the best in the existing marketing plan, letting go of what's not working and allowing companies to divide and conquer what needs to be done to engage, then celebrating the mountain of measurable successes as a group. A more complete title is, "How are you marketing to your employees, customers, prospects, community?" Today I'm talking with Jeanne Hopkins who is launching Salty Marketing Company this month. About Jamie: Jamie Turner is an internationally recognized author, professor, and business consultant. He speaks about leadership, persuasion, and marketing at events around the globe. He is a contributor to many well-known publications including Inc., Entrepreneur, Business Insider, and Forbes. He's a regular guest on CNN and HLN. Jamie is the co-author of How to Make Money with Social Media, Go Mobile, and his new book, An Audience of One: Drive Superior Results by Making the Radical Shift from Mass Marketing to One-to-One Marketing. About The Audience of One: Jamie co-authored An Audience of One with Chuck Moxley. They define one-to-one marketing as a marketing method in which companies engage with customers using a "Personalized approach based on who they are, how they think, what they purchase, what their interests are, where they go, and how they prefer to be communicated with"(p. 3. An Audience of One). One-to-one marketers use first-party data to create highly relevant and engaging ads for their consumers, showing them products that meet their interests and address their pain points. Although the one-to-one approach can be more expensive than mass marketing methods, the proper use of first-party, anonymized data leads to a higher return on marketing investment (ROMI) because of the ad's high relevancy to the consumer. The book explains one-to-one marketing in simple terms so that marketing professionals and students alike can understand how to implement the 1:1 method in their marketing strategies and drive ROMI. What are the unspoken rules of leadership? Learn the science behind the words and actions that influence others—with author, marketer and speaker Jamie Turner. More than 50% of employees quit their jobs because of their managers. More than 80% of employees don't trust their managers to do the right thing. These and other studies show that just because someone manages people doesn't necessarily make them a good leader. Good leaders aren't necessarily born. Instead, they're made. In fact, Harvard Business Review reports that only 5% of our leadership and persuasion ability is based on our cognitive ability. Most of our ability (53%) is driven by our maturity, ambition, sociability, and curiosity. The science of leadership is a subject Jamie Turner has studied across his career in marketing, writing and speaking. He and I discuss just what the unspoken rules are, and how aspiring leaders can unpack the four pillars that help them lead their people in ways that deliver positive outcomes. In this episode, I discuss these challenges and strategies for alleviating them with our guest, Jamie Turner. Guest: Jamie Turner Jamie Turner is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and TV news contributor who has helped The Coca-Cola Company, AT&T, Holiday Inn, and other global brands tackle complex business problems. At long last, our very first attempt to take our show on the road. And it went....well honestly pretty poorly. The conversation was fun, and we'll definitely get the guys from Crux Fermentation Project back on the show sometime but the audio is ROUGH. I recommend headphones to make things easier. I had only one omni-directional microphone and four people in a loud brewery so I did what I could. We'll be back next week with a regular in-studio episode so no hard feelings if you don't wanna stick it out through this one. Just know that if you DO stick it out you can hear four grown adults all say the words, "Maple Syrup Booty Hole". It's all about perspective.
The Main Course returns to the topic of restaurant technology, which has been a lifeline for most businesses during the pandemic. But how did it allow them to pivot, and what role will it play in the future? Host Barbara Castiglia spoke with Chris Adams, VP of Strategy Food & Beverage at Oracle, on some success stories and trends. In his role, Chris works with independents, global chains, and foodservice companies. He brings technology from Oracle and its partners to solve problems.Once the pandemic happened, Oracle began to consult with its customers on what's next and invest its own resources in areas around mobile ordering and online payments.Adams shared some stories, including how they helped Outback. “Outback was predominantly a table service experience. They had shifted to some new technology around takeout. In just a few weeks, our partners and we were able to get a curbside ordering and payment solution in place and help them get in with delivery aggregators.Adams worked with another brand in Italy, a country devastated by the virus. “They came to us and said we need to get to our customers. They took a data-driven approach from their customer loyalty program, and we helped them build their own delivery, ordering, and payment experience,” he said.In looking at the future, Adams thinks the key word is flexibility. “Consumers want the flexibility of ordering how they want and getting food how they want. That's not going away.”He also predicts that the design of restaurants will follow the flexibility theme. “We'll see more drive-thrus from brands that never did it before. Better mobile experiences, and smaller in dining footprints.”
Cubic Telecom has been named the overall winner of IoT Global Awards’ Automotive, Transport, and Travel category for its innovative connected software solution, PACE. With over 100 entries submitted across the eleven IoT categories, including Harman, Lenovo, Telstra, G&D, and Vodafone the global IoT software provider was also named a finalist in the Big Data, Cloud, and Analytics category. Now in its third year, the prestigious awards program identifies the most innovative companies, products, and individual talent. It has quickly become an industry benchmark for excellence in IoT. “It is an honour to be recognised among these top-class IoT technology providers, and to subsequently win such a distinguished category,” commented Cubic Telecom CEO, Barry Napier. “This further positions Cubicas a leader in not only the IoT, sector but also as a leading connected software solution provider, on the world stage.” Cubic PACE for Automotive is a connected software and data analytics solution that enables automakers to ship vehicles with preconfigured software for optimum connectivity and regulatory requirements already in place for each country. PACE gives automakers complete control. It facilitates a centralised architecture and integrates different data sets which can be analysed for a wide variety of use cases to inform evidence-based decision-making. PACE’s central integrated management system gives automakers the power to launch, customise and control digital services that can be easily scaled and aligned to global markets. Seamless software updates, live diagnostics and data collection – and the ability to ‘adopt and drop’ new features and functionality grant automakers much more flexibility, and a built-in ability to comply with fast-changing, region-specific requirements. “In a year like no other, filled with global health, social and business challenges, it has been a huge encouragement to all of us behind the 3rd annual IoT Global Awards to see so many entries displaying a wealth of business and engineering creativity,” said Chair of the Judges, Jeremy Cowan, Editorial Director and Publisher of IoT Now. “To the Award Winners, we salute your ideas, hard work and your applications of IoT-enabled services to improve lives worldwide. It really is that simple: You make all our lives better. In 2020 we can say for certain, that the Internet of Things has never been more important.” Today, over 3.5 million connected vehicles are powered by the Cubic PACE for Automotive platform, across over 90 countries globally. Automotive customers include Audi, Arrival, Bentley, e.GO Mobile, Porsche, Skoda, and Volkswagen. Last week I interviewed Ben Cope, "The Internet Genuis" and the topic was mobile marketing. Because buyers use their mobile devices to search for products and services when they need them, mobile marketing gives businesses the opportunity to reach them when they are white hot and ready to purchase.
