Mehr Lebensfreude? Weniger Arbeiten? Das eigene Leben leben und nicht die Erwartungen anderer erfüllen? Freundschaften (und die falschen davon schneller beenden)? Und weiter: Was geben die „Bucket Lists“ von Lola und Janine eigentlich so her? Was steht ganz oben? - Viele Fragen an das Leben - innen und außen - die Mutter und Tochter heute bewegen. Das liegt aber auch irgendwie auf der Hand, denn schließlich ist es ja der Tag vor Halloween - „All Hallows Evening“ - die Nacht vor Allerheiligen, wo es ja Kontakte in das Reich der Toten geben kann (das denken zumindest viele auf der Welt, vor allem in Mexico). In diesem Sinne wünschen wir euch allen ein schaurig schönes Halloween-Fest oder ein besinnliches Allerheiligen. Ein Fest ist wie eine Feier. Die Tradition des Halloweenfestes findet jedes Jahr statt. Jedes Jahr am Ende des Monats Oktober. Die Tradition des Halloweenfestes kommt nicht aus Deutschland. Sie kommt aus Irland. Die Tradition kommt ursprünglich von den Kelten. Die Kelten waren vor langer Zeit ein Volk in Irland. Die Tradition der Kelten war es, an ihre Toten zu denken. Das Halloweenfest kommt aber nicht nur von den Kelten. Es kommt auch ein bisschen von den Christen. Es gibt am 1. November den Feiertag Allerheiligen. An diesem Tag denken die Christen an ihre Heiligen Menschen. Der Name Halloween kommt von all Hallows Eve. Heute gibt es die Tradition, sich am Abend von Halloween zu verkleiden. Vor allem die Kinder verkleiden sich als Geister oder Zauberer. Ein sehr bekannter Zauberer ist Harry Potter. Den kennst du wahrscheinlich auch. Auch in der Geschichte von Harry Potter gibt es Geister. Harry lebt in der Geschichte in einem Schloss. Das Schloss heißt Hogwarts. Ich bin ein großer Fan von Harry Potter. Also muss ich aufpassen, sonst erzähle ich zu viel davon. Zurück zu Halloween. Die Verkleidungen sind also sehr wichtig. Hauptsache, die Verkleidung ist gruselig. Die Kinder gehen dann durch die Straßen. Sie klingeln an den Türen und die Menschen geben Ihnen dann Süßigkeiten. Halloween gibt es in Deutschland noch nicht lang. Erst ungefähr 30 Jahre. Onkel Vernon erhält einen Brief von Molly Weasley, und nach etwas Diskussion wird beschlossen, dass Harry über die Ferien mit den Weasleys zur Quidditch WM darf! Das klingt ja spannend. Doch als Harry abgeholt wird, geht einiges schief. Manu und Michel unterhalten sich über diese spannenden Ereignisse, den Brief von Molly und das Floh-Netzwerk-Büro und finden wieder einiges zum Lachen. Ein paar Gedanken zum "Halloween" Fest, wie ich es seit ein paar Jahren feiere und es für mich jenseits von Verkleiden und "Trick or Treat" bedeutet.

Wir lesen Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen, Kapitel 10, "Halloween". Draco Malfoy ist sauer, dass Harry und Ron nicht rausgeflogen sind. Und dann bekommt Harry auch noch einen Nimbus 2000, den besten Besen auf dem Markt, von Professor McGonagall geschenkt! Harry hat sein erstes Quidditch Training, lernt, von Professor Flitwick mit Wingardium Leviosa Dinge fliegen zu lassen und fühlt sich so zu Hause wie nie. Doch sein nächstes Abenteuer steht schon bevor, denn das Halloween Fest wird von einem Troll unterbrochen und Harry und Ron müssen Hermine retten, die im Mädchenklo vom Troll überrascht wird. Aber sie haben Glück und tragen den Sieg davon und endlich beginnt die Freundschaft mit Hermine - Das Goldene Trio hat hier seinen Anfang. Gerade in religionskritischen Kreisen wird gerne behauptet, das Christentum und seine heute üblichen Bräuche und Feiertage gingen in Wirklichkeit fast alle auf alte heidnische Bräuche zurück und wären somit gar nicht christlich. Als ich mich vor kurzem für den Blog mit der Geschichte von Halloween beschäftigt habe, ist mir genau das erneut aufgefallen. Im Internet findet man da nämlich sehr schnell eine Theorie. Nämlich dass das Halloween-Fest - immerhin doch "All Hallow's Eve", wortwörtlich der Abend vor Allerheiligen - gar nichts mit Allerheiligen zu tun haben soll. Vielmehr soll es auf das keltische Fest Samhain zurückgehen. Das sich verbreitende Christentum hat das später nur aufgenommen und mit Allerheiligen und Allerseelen seine eigenen Totengedenktage in dieselbe Zeit gesetzt. Das hat dann aber schon mein Interesse geweckt. Denn Halloween kommt meines Wissens nach doch ursprünglich aus Irland. Und wie soll sich denn gerade in einem so früh christianisierten Land wie Irland eine heidnische Tradition so lange gehalten haben? Melde dich hier für den Déjà-vu Newsletter an. Aus diesem Grund schaue ich mir in dieser Episode des Déjà-vu Geschichte Podcast an, wie die Zusammenhänge zwischen heutigen Bräuchen und dem Christentum wirklich aussehen. Neben Halloween widme ich mich dabei den zwei größten christlichen Festen überhaupt: Ostern und Weihnachten. Und wie sich dabei herausstellt, ist die Situation in Wirklichkeit ziemlich komplex. Das Christentum hat nach seiner Entstehung und Verbreitung nicht einfach nur alte Bräuche übernommen, um damit seine Missionierung voranzutreiben. Das heißt im Umkehrschluss aber nicht, dass es vor den heutigen christlichen Feiertagen nicht schon diverse Vorläufer gegeben hätte.
