So, How do you make a decision based on your gut? In the second episode of How to use the incredible power of your Second Brain, we will be covering: A Healthy Gut does not just come from the foods you eat. It also comes from the thoughts you think, and the emotions you express. 5 ways to develop your Gut instinct 7 tips to keeping your gut healthy How to develop your intuition How to enhance our productivity by taking care of our gut?? Ok, let's dive in Intuition is that feeling you get in your gut when you know something is right or wrong. It's a sixth sense, or a hunch. You just know it deep down. Intuition can give you faith in what you're doing. The old saying “trust your gut” refers to trusting these feelings of intuition, often as a way to stay true to yourself. Or it's that moment when you sense kindness, or fear, in another's face. You don't know why you feel that way; it's just a hunch. But what is it? After all, researchers can't see it in the brain. Let me walk you through a Fine Example of someone using their Gut feeling and saving Millions of dollars... In 1983, Gianfranco Becchina had a rare sixth-century sculpture for sale with a staggering $10 million price tag. The Getty Museum, having reviewed X-rays, expert testimony, and historical documentation, agreed to its purchase amid considerable media hype. However, when Evelyn Harrison, a renowned expert on Greek sculptures, and Thomas Hoving, former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, arrived to admire the statue, they knew, intuitively, something was wrong. According to Hoving, it seemed “fresh,” which was unexpected as the 2,000-year-old statue had been taken out of the ground. And they were right. While the sculpture was from a workshop in Rome, it originated from a forger in 1980, rather than a master sculptor from antiquity (Gladwell, 2005). Today, we are talking about another part of the Fruit of the Spirit, and it's one we all love because it is love. What would happen if people recognized that we were under the influence of God's love…of Holy Spirit? I had no clue that Adrianna had grown up in a home that never used the word love when I first invited her to be on the podcast because she exemplifies this part of the fruit so very well. How is it that Someone you cannot see has loved you when people who you see don't even love you? We're going to talk about it and just how powerful Christ's love is today!Let's look at Galatians 5:22-23, Matthew 7:21-23, John 13:35, John 3:16, and 1 Peter 4:8.The Walter Hoving Home is a powerful ministry that has born and is bearing fruit for over 54 years! Adrianna loves God who called her out of her own addiction that she consistently shows His love to those who go through the program. She has literally laid down her lifestyle of comfort and ease to live in the home and commit to their transformation. How have we gone out of our way to love others? I don't know about you, but I have some work to do in this area. And it's going to take more than love alone. It's going to take some self control. It's going to take some patience. It's going to take each and every part of the Fruit of the Spirit because they compliment one another. If you'd like to make a donation to the Walter Hoving Home to support the work that they are doing across the United States, you can click here: https://hovinghome.org/campuses/the-nevada-home/If you want to follow Adrianna on IG, show her some love and click here: https://instagram.com/same_age_If you want to connect with me, it would be such an honor. John “Jack” Buchanan, born 1931 in Glens Falls, NY, joined the staff of the Metropolitan Museum of Art as Museum Archivist on November 7th, 1966. A few years later the new Director of the Museum, Thomas Hoving, appointed him Chief Registrar of the Museum and for the next twenty-two years Buchanan was in charge of worldwide art movements: packing, shipping, security in transit, and fine arts insurance In that capacity he traveled widely throughout the U.S., Europe, the Soviet Union, Middle East, India, China, Japan, and Mexico. He moved several “Blockbuster” exhibitions. They included, Tutankhamen, Treasures of the Vatican, Manet, Treasures of Early Irish Art, Great Bronze Age of China, Mexico, and several others. He planned the movement to and from the Soviet Union of the first exhibition (American and European paintings) an American museum sent to that country and worked closely with couriers (curators and conservators) in Helsinki, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), and Moscow. During his tenure as Chief Registrar, he worked on exhibitions in the Soviet Union on six occasions, and during one trip he worked with Tom Hoving and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. In 1972 Hoving appointed Buchanan as his Special Assistant –while remaining Chief Registrar, thus he wore two hats. As Special Assistant he decided which matters should be brought to the Director's attention, and which he could handle himself or farm out to others. He also worked with Hoving on gaining political and then financial support for the construction of the New American Wing, which meant hobnobbing with Democratic politicians in smoke-filled clubhouses. Hoving became the Interim Director of the Queens Museum. Buchanan was the Deputy Interim Director and when Mr. Hoving retired, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, C. Douglas Dillon, assigned Buchanan to serve as Special Assistant to the first paid President of the Museum, William B. Macomber. He remained Chief Registrar and still traveled with exhibitions. In 1983, following twelve years of wearing two hats under Hoving and Macomber, with the special exhibition schedule booming, Buchanan decided to hand over the Special Assistant duties to a colleague and resumed wearing one hat. Upon his retirement, Buchanan returned to the study of history and published three books with John Wiley & Sons: the widely acclaimed “The Road to Guilford Courthouse: The American Revolution in the Carolinas" (1997); the controversial “Jackson's Way: Andrew Jackson and the People of the Western Waters” (2001); and the “The Road to Valley Forge: How Washington Built the Army That Won the Revolution” (2004), which received the Thomas Fleming award for best book of 2004 by the Philadelphia American Revolution Round Table. Mr. Buchanan has appeared on C-Span and the History Channel, and has contributed several book reviews to the Journal of Military History as well as acted as referee for proposed articles in JMH. He has also published short stories in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, and his self-published Cold War novel, The Rise of Stefan Gregorovic (2010), was described by a critic as “one of the most gripping narratives I've ever read.”
