Join hosts Graham and Jamie as they delve into the rich history of football, dissecting the stories, tactics, and personalities that have shaped the beautiful game. In this episode, they're joined by Jamie Wilson to scrutinize and debate one of the most intriguing periods in Cambridge United's history: the 1990-92period under the stewardship of John Beck.In this deep dive into Cambridge United's journey, the hosts explore the remarkable rise of the team from the depths of League Two to the precipice of the Premier League in the early 1990s. They unpack the team's background, shedding light on their struggles with relegation and the challenges they faced along the way.A focal point of the discussion is the unique management style of John Beck, characterised by his direct and long-ball tactics. Date: August 31, 2022Name of podcast: Backstage Pass RadioEpisode title and number:  S3: E6: Kyle Hutton - Three More Bottles & She's GoneArtist Short Bio -  “Longest Days, Shortest Years” is the 5th full-length studio release from singer/songwriter Kyle Hutton. The 15 song project offers a ride back to a time when you listened to a record from beginning to end, and deliberately bucks the trend of experiencing an artist through a single, or an EP. “Longest Days, Shortest Years” delivers 57 minutes of the best yet from Hutton's pen and guitar. The title track of the new cd, produced by Jeffery Armstreet, explores the dichotomy of time, how a minute can feel like a lifetime and a decade can pass in the blink of an eye. Hutton, a father of 3 boys and husband of 21 years, provides wise lament on this universal subject. Michael Martin Murphey joins in on the upbeat, reflective track with a cameo on guitar and vocals. “Being in the studio with Michael Martin Murphey was one of the highlights of making this record”, states Hutton, “his willingness to be involved cemented my feelings about this song being the title track”.And it's obvious that Hutton's “Real Life Real Music” live shows and radio program have garnered him some new friends and fans. In addition to Murphey, Kyle is joined by a host of other performers lending their talents to his songs. Relative newcomer Haley Cole joins in on the woefully honest, yet somehow optimistic song “I've Loved You”. The Chubby Knuckle Choir brings their eclectic mix to “So Close to Saturday Night”, “Last Minute Austin”, and the live, unedited take of “Wingtip Shoes”, a post-depression era fable about a sharecropping family's demise. The project also includes an unforgettable performance by Jamie Wilson who joins Kyle for the duet “What it Takes to Sing These Songs”, a piece that looks directly into the soul of the independent troubadour. Three of the songs on the project were co-written with Hutton favorites: Walt Wilkins – “What I Dreamed Last Night”, Marcus Eldridge – “So Close to Saturday Night” and his oldest son Brooks Hutton – “Wallets and Watches”.Sponsor Link:WWW.ECOTRIC.COMSocial Media Handles:Facebook - @backstagepassradiopodcast @randyhulseymusicInstagram - @Backstagepassradio @randyhulseymusicTwitter - @backstagepassPC @rhulseymusicWebsite - backstagepassradio.com and randyhulsey.comArtist Media Handles:Website - www.kylehutton.comFacebook -  https://www.facebook.com/kyle.hutton.503Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/kylehuttonmusic/Call to actionWe ask our listeners to like, share, and subscribe to the show and artist's social media pages. Jared, Oriana and Ned talk about Ned's choice of topic: Tolkien's essay “A Secret Vice.” Originally prepared as a lecture called “A Hobby for the Home” for an Oxford literary society in 1931, “A Secret Vice” is now regarded as one of the two most key essays, along with “On Fairy-Stories” of Tolkien essentially reflecting on his own work and what drove his creative interests. His training and work as a philologist grew out not only an interest in languages in general but in creating them for his own interest, and it's long been clear that his early development of the Elvish languages in particular are what led him to start creating poetry and prose set in his legendarium to begin with. At the same time, the time and place of the essay's creation demonstrates that a lot of his stance involves assumptions that wider linguistic scholarship has since moved on from. What was the popular impact of constructed languages such as Esperanto on Tolkien's own belief in how such languages could thrive? Why is it important to distinguish between Tolkien's favored belief in sound symbolism and the separate school of structural linguistics? What were some of the evident biases that Tolkien's own favored languages – not to mention his native language, English – created in terms of what he wanted to create himself with his own original tongues? And just what was it with his way of dancing around actually talking about what interested him in the subject instead of simply flat out stating it?SHOW NOTES.Jared's doodle. I thought it would be interesting to talk to someone who has got a project and a dream and the reality of how to make it happen. Melbourne writer and actor Jamie Wilson is that person and he’s written a crime script called Borrowed Time about two Aussie bikies feuding over missing drugs in the red light district of Patong Phuket in Thailand. And, for the doctors-turned-entrepreneurs, how do you hire the first non-medical person? Dr Jamie Wilson shares his experiences on the answer. 0240 Melissa Morris of Network Locum, explains her own tactics on how to poach key players from other companies. She also goes through the questions that she asks candidates. 0510 Question: How do you hire individuals with highly specifics skills who are not in a different field of expertise to yourself? Jean and Andre answer this question, as they are both surgeon who have perfected their skill of hiring animators. 0700 Andre reminds the audience that the ‘mission' of a healthcare technology company can be key in helping to persuade employees to join a company at an early stage. 0745 Daniel Nathrath talks about helping early employees adapt as the business grows, and what to do if they can't. Daniel Nathrath seconds this point. 1730 John and Andre talk about ‘the very, very long learning curve' that they encountered when they were looking for investment. They talk about their first ever VC deck, which was way too long and cryptic; and about exactly how much money you should ask your VC for… 2000 The TouchSurgery founders also talk about why you need to share exactly what your company does, and its monetisation strategy, if you're looking for investment. To paraphrase Andre: if you're worried that someone else is going to steal your idea, you need to get over yourselves, as ideas are cheap – execution is the important part. 2340 Audience Question: What gives entrepreneurs conviction an the earliest stages, when nothing is proven? 2700 Melissa ventures the opinion that, even thought conviction is great, it is very useful to remain flexible and to not confuse conviction with arrogance. 2800 Audience Question: If you're building a marketplace company, is it best to build out the supply or demand side first? Melissa recommends focusing on the supply side, and that you can accelerate this process by offering the supply side something they need (other than custom). 3045 Audience Question: What should you look for in investment term sheets? Mohammed comes in on this question, recommending that it is better to have no investors, rather than to have a bad investor. 3215 Final Audience Question to the Drs: What made you feel like it was the right time top step back from your medical career in favour of entrepreneurship?

I interviewed Jamie Wilson who is a stay at home mom, but also a successful entrepreneur.  In fact, throughout the interview we dig into 2 successful sites that she owns: OrganicBambooClothing.com and JellyBeanQuilts.com.  Jelly Bean Quilts is currently her biggest money maker, and quite honestly, I think is a pretty cool business (yep I have kids!). I found out about Jamie because she submitted her "Success" story to me following these guidelines here.  After reading it, I decided I needed to have her on the podcast, and I'm glad I did!  She shares tons or really cool tips and tricks. As a result, I have the text that she sent in for her success story, so I'm going to share below.  The podcast follows a very similar format to what you see below; but there are TONS of points we discuss in the podcast that is not included below.  So, I recommend both reading and listening to get all the great information that Jamie has to share.
