Join us on "Don't Be Sour" as we hit our 80th mark, a testament to our unwavering commitment to spark lively discussions and keep you entertained. Maxx Chewning here, alongside my unofficial yet indispensable co-host Joe, brings you a blend of banter, personal anecdotes, and a touch of the unconventional. From debating the solitary confines of a one-man podcast to the light-hearted disagreements over regional identities and southern charm, our conversations are anything but mundane. Listen in as we laugh over our last ski trip, dissect the intricacies of small talk, and navigate the vibrant landscape of social interactions across the States. In this episode, we tackle a buffet of thought-provoking topics, stirring the pot with our takes on current events and societal changes. We confront the quirky conspiracy theories surrounding the upcoming solar eclipse, challenging the absurd notion that it might awaken slumbering giants. Then, we pivot to the palpable impact of a new $20 minimum wage for fast-food workers in California and the possible repercussions it could have on the economy and the job market. Our debate extends to the looming specter of automation and AI, questioning the balance between technological advancement and the value of human employment. And if that's not enough, we wade into the murky waters of property laws, squatter rights, and the often-overlooked nuances that can leave homeowners grappling with outdated legislation. Finally, we're not shying away from the more personal aspects of life, such as safety habits and the intriguing possibilities of a bachelor party devoid of clichés. As we share tales of our younger, wilder days, we also ponder the ever-evolving landscape of parenting, from managing adolescent behavior to navigating the digital age with potential future children. Whether it's a debate over sleepovers and underage drinking or the complex dance of discipline and societal norms, we leave no stone unturned. So, grab your headphones and get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions and insights, peppered with our signature humor and the occasional unexpected guest appearance.

What's up guys, it's your boy Joshy Pooh! OK…OK…that poor attempt at copying Maxx Chewning was not authentic. So, I guess according to the famous Dan Lourenco saying "authenticity is undefeated," I'm taking a loss here. But let's talk about the recent GHOST x Sour Strips collaboration a bit though. Tons of content out there already on the amazing taste of the products and overall cool factor, which is par for the course with GHOST, but here's what I loved about the collab…the tactful ability of GHOST Lifestyle to navigate its two existing sour candy licensing partnerships. And I want to stress the word partnership, because without strong, trusting, and dare I say authentic long-standing partnerships with Impact Confections and Mondelez International…the Sour Strips collaboration is just another totally awesome idea that never sees commercialization. On today's episode, I had my good friend, Enrico Incarnati onto the show! I first got to know of Rico when he was working with Jordan Syatt a couple years ago. . I have always loved not only his tactical information as far as video content goes, but also his passion for spreading awareness towards mental health, self-care, and as what he refers to as, “Being a F*cking Shark”, which we chat about in the episode. . We had the opportunity to meet for the first time in Nashville, TN last year at the NCI event and again in Scottsdale, AZ. Rico and I have also worked 1:1 together for a month earlier this year, where he helped me grow my TikTok as well as develop my recent video course, that launched this week. . In the episode, we discussed: . Where the saying “Be a F*king Shark” came from. . From wanting to become a pediatrician to videographer… how he made the switch. Why? . The importance of doing what you want to do, even if it means going against what others “expect” of you. . Enrico's journey with mental health and why he is so passionate about men's mental health. . How he started to make connections with Zach Rocheleau, Christian Guzman, Maxx Chewning, Jordan Syatt, and Jason Phillips. . Rico's timeline of events is a prime example of how quickly you can change your life. . The value of getting uncomfortable to grow in life. . How motivation works - like a match. . Rico's 2 recommendations for you to start improving your health today! . Thank you so much Rico for joining me on the show! I appreciate you so much! . Maxx Chewning is a YouTuber and founder of the popular brands Ever Forward and Sour Strips. His success today would never have been possible if he hadn't thought about how he could live life outside the “normal” and “accepted” path we are supposed to take. His journey took courage, grit, and consistency to become who he is today and is an encouragement to anyone who feels there is something more for them.
Maxx and Chase return to talk about their ten-plus year journey in the world of fitness. The younger Chewning kicks things off by reflecting on his love for fitness. He only started lifting after he was spurred on by his bros in college to hit the gym. It didn't take long for Maxx's total disinterest to turn into a daily non-negotiable. “It was something that I made fun of, then got into. It literally changed my entire life.” Now over a decade into the game, Maxx looks back at the many accomplishments he's garnered as a powerlifter. He says he's just about ready to retire from powerlifting now that he's on the verge of hitting numbers that few at his age and in his weight class have matched. Overall, Maxx and Chase agree that community has become a stronger priority over hitting PR after PR. Maxx shares how he aims to approach his gym sessions moving forward. For many, 2020 couldn't have ended sooner. For Maxx Chewning, it was a year full of unexpected blessings, lessons, and accomplishments, particularly in business. Asked to name the one trait that he was forced to level up over the past 18 months, Maxx quickly replied “leadership”. Now two years into his newest venture, six years into his first, and eight years after establishing his personal brand, Maxx has become familiar with his capacity as an entrepreneur, even as he continues to strive for ever greater success. Listen in as he goes down memory lane and shares how he came to be where he currently is. Maxx goes on to talk about the entrepreneurial engine that inspires him to dabble and experiment with anything that piques his interest, and how he capitalizes on those ideas that most align with his talents and passions. He also shares why he, as an entrepreneur, is so driven to support his growing team and how he keeps a level head when there are fires to put out. Finally, Maxx reflects on his humble beginnings just as he was getting his YouTube channel off the ground, touching on what it means to have an “authentic” online presence, how to deal with haters, and why he is a prime example of, “If he can do it, I can do it, too.” Follow Maxx @maxxchewning Follow Chase @chase_chewning Episode resources: Save 15% on the 100% grass fed beef sticks from Paleovalley with code EVERFORWARD at https://www.paleovalley.com/everforward Watch the video and learn more about Maxx at https://chasechewning.com/podcasts/episode/487

At the end of the day, that's all I want in my wellness capsule. The three phases of intelligence: gathering information, applying what we have learned, and embodying the knowledge. Dating in this modern age and all of the weapons of mass distraction that are getting in the way of true connection. Priming Your Personal Development How to begin priming your personal development right now in this modern world. The rule of thirds for the different types of people you should keep close to you in life. Importance of focusing on loving and respecting yourself at your core first before opening yourself to a romantic relationship. How his wife helped him to open up and share what was actually going on with him underneath the surface and the issues he needed to talk about. The fact that the very first step for greater intelligence is just to have awareness. Why relationships are the quickest way to break yourself open, reveal your blind spots, and grow with them. The different attachment styles we all have with the people in our lives in various areas of our lives. A period of time he went through to deeply reflect on who he was and what his role was to other people in his close circle of relationships. What steps we can all do to get better at understanding our own stories by learning what we're good at and what we're passionate about. The fact that many of the deep-set beliefs we have aren't even our own, they've been passed down to us from generations ago. Power Quotes From The Show Fitness Is The Gateway Drug To Wellness "We want to feel better, we want our life to be better, and we're all seeking health and wellness but how do we achieve all of that? Where do we start? We figure that first, we have to lose weight, maybe by starting to run or go to the gym. It all starts with fitness. Fitness is the gateway drug to wellness. Fitness is the gateway drug to true happiness. Fitness is the gateway drug to everything we're seeking that we have no idea that we're even after. If we can get positive, physical results by working our bodies, what else can we achieve when we shift our mind?" - Chase Chewning False Connection "All of these weapons of mass distraction when it comes to dating, being, and connecting allow us this false inability to create our own world because we can live in our phones, through social media, and can do whatever we want whenever we want. We can Amazon prime our life in every way possible. Honestly, is it our fault or society's fault? Is it conditioning? If I can do all of these things in my life with extreme pace and get an extreme result, why can't I get that in my real-life relationships?" - Chase Chewning Do You Know Yourself? "I was asleep for the first 29 years of my life. From 27 to 29, that's when I began to fully acknowledge that I needed to do something to change my life and work through my struggles. I didn't complete the inner work in two years, I began to become aware of my ego, toxic thought patterns, and what was no longer serving me that I needed to let go of in order to really understand what it means and to be able and allow myself to really love myself. I couldn't have done that any sooner in my life because I didn't know who I was then. How can you fully love someone if you don't know who they are? Do you love yourself? If not, do you even know yourself? Start there." - Chase Chewning Recover Faster: FITAID RX ZERO (Sugar Free + CREATINE) Recovery Blend is Keto-friendly, with the same clean ingredients and essential nutrients you love in FITAID ZERO. In honor of the six month anniversary of Ever Forward Radio, it is my honor to bring you all a very special interview that shines a light on another prominent meaning behind the two words that have molded my life. And not just my life, but the complete trajectory of my family's. A huge part of that has been Ever Forward Apparel founder, Instagram and YouTube fitness personality Maxx Chewning, my younger brother. In this episode we learn what drives this young man on a daily basis to never stop pursuing excellence, to never stop being more. How once he puts his mind to something he quickly becomes a subject matter expert, analyzing it from every possible angle to improve upon it and make it his own. This could not be more apparent than on his thriving fitness YouTube channel, quickly rising to the top in his industry in a short time period. Whether filming a 600 pound deadlift, a day of eating or whatever whacky antic he has decided to make the focus of his vlog there is no doubt that you will be engaged from start to finish. Maxx continues to be a source of motivation for those looking to pursue their passions, tackle any larger-than-life task or even conquer daily life obstacles. He is a walking, talking example of what it means to truly live a life ever forward. However quirky it may be!

NWB IN THE HOUSE!!! I had the pleasure of reconnecting with my old friend, Nick Wright. Nick has lived, eaten and breathed YouTube fitness over the past five plus years. His story is one that always comes to my mind when I think of someone truly applying passion to purpose. A native Rhode Islander, I had the privilege of getting to know Nick for his year in Richmond, VA. We crushed countless workouts and even more Chipotle meals together with my younger brother (Maxx Chewning, whom Nick references in the interview) and our other gym rat friends. Being one of the firsts in the industry, he has had the unique perspective of watching his profession grow exponentially while helping usher in a new era of content creators. He always stays true to himself and has an admirable "no bullshit" policy when it comes to conveying his story through his videos, whether in the gym, smoking his favorite cigar or spending quality time with his longtime girlfriend Arianna. Nick's YouTube channel can be found here (no, we won't kidding about Scondore) at www.youtube.com/scondore and on Instagram and Twitter @nickwrightnwb.
