Defrowe Airsoft Podcast - Meet The Legend - Minty - S02E013 This episode is brought to your by Jefe's Airsoft Solutions Use code "DEFROWE10" for 10% off at checkout. (Some exclusions apply) https://jefesairsoftsolutions.com/ Quick note: I'm sorry about the video quality on this podcast, we had a little technical problem. Zach Mullins, also known as "Minty," is a dedicated airsoft player from West Olive, Michigan, with a passion for the sport and a drive to create a better airsoft community. He has been playing airsoft for several years and has established himself as a respected player within the community. Minty is a Founder of the "Whitehorse" Milsim team, a group of like-minded airsofters who strive to play the game as realistically as possible. Milsim airsoft involves more realistic gameplay with set objectives, realistic weapons and gear, and stricter rules regarding engagement and player behavior. Minty enjoys the challenge of playing Milsim and the immersion it provides. One of Minty's favorite roles to play in airsoft is that of the medic. As a medic, he takes on the important task of keeping his teammates alive on the battlefield. He is skilled at quickly assessing a situation and providing medical aid to wounded teammates under fire, all while avoiding enemy fire himself. He has a natural talent for staying calm under pressure, a trait that serves him well in airsoft and in life. Outside of the game itself, Minty is also making a significant contribution to the airsoft community. He is the creator of SnapSoft, a social networking service for airsofters. The app allows players to share pictures and communicate with fellow airsofters, creating a space for players to connect and build a community. Minty recognized a need for a better way for airsofters to connect with each other and saw an opportunity to create a platform that could fill that need. SnapSoft is set to quickly gain popularity within the airsoft community, since players can use the app to share pictures of their gear, discuss tactics, and plan events. Minty's dedication to the sport of airsoft goes beyond just playing the game and creating a social network. He is always looking for ways to improve himself as a player and as a person. He is also involved in organizing events and games within his local airsoft community, bringing players together for exciting and challenging gameplay. As a player, Minty is known for his strategy and tactical thinking. He takes the time to plan out his moves and assess the situation before taking action. He is patient and methodical, never rushing into a situation without fully understanding the risks and rewards. This approach has earned him the respect of his fellow players, who know they can rely on him to make smart decisions on the field. Check him out on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/airsoft_minty/ --------- We talk about airsoft guns, gear, milsim, speedsoft, loadouts, tactics. You name it, it's on the table. In this podcast, we take a deep dive and get to know a local legend. We take a look behind their call sign and find out why they got into airsoft. We take a look at what their preferences are and how they like to play. We discuss the local airsoft scene and see how it differs from other countries. We also discuss their dream airsoft events, the guns they are currently using, the backstory of some of their popular IG posts and find out what their greatest accomplishment is. There was never a question that Ivy would make it, though they did so with many strokes of luck, good fortune, and heart ache along the way. With talented songwriters Andy Chase and Adam Schlesinger writing sophisticated pop songs showcasing their love of ‘80s and ‘90s UK music, the only thing missing was a voice to go with the sounds. Chase's girlfriend at the time (now wife), Dominique Durand, had moved to New York City from Paris to study fashion. While growing up in a house full of music journalists in France, Durand enjoyed the lifestyle and the personalities but never entertained the thought of taking center stage until she was reluctantly talked into it by Chase and Schlesinger. And the industry took notice. In the bumpy times of the mid-90s where labels were signing every band with a pulse, and subsequently dropping the ones that didn't meet sales targets, Ivy was the type of band to earn glowing reviews that didn't always translate to units shifted. 1995's debut Realistic was released by Seed Records. 1997's critically-acclaimed Apartment Life was originally put out by Atlantic Records and reissued the following year by 550 Music after Atlantic unceremoniously dropped the band while they were in the middle of a tour. Since that time, Ivy has released music on Nettwerk, Minty Fresh and, now, Bar-None, who is releasing Apartment Life on vinyl for the first time. For Chase and Durand, it's been a bittersweet few years as the rights to Apartment Life came back to the band shortly after Schlesinger passed away from Covid complications in 2020. Affectionately admired as 'The Champ' by his fans, Guam MMA fighter Roque Martinez joins us in the Minty Fresh studio to share his thoughts on life, fighting and the legacy he wants to leave behind. Roque is a devoted son, father, soon-to-be husband and Guam's most accomplished heavyweight fighter in the MMA cage / ring. Roque has pounded his way across many fight leagues including PXC, DEEP, RIZEN and now, the gold standard — the UFC. After 15 years of grinding in the MMA world, Roque sets his sights on perhaps the biggest fight of his career (Nov. 14 Las Vegas) - not because of the purse at stake or the fame of his opponent — but to prove to himself that he still is the fighter he knows he can be. So grab a drink, sit back and join us in the corner — you're about to enter the MINT-A-GON with the gentle giant — the Champ, Roque Martinez! Dr. Vince Akimoto (MD), partner and physician of Guam Medical Center, joins us in the Minty Fresh studio (via stream) to address the recent descent of Guam from Pandemic Condition of Readiness (PCORE) 4 to 1 due to 105 new positive cases of Coronavirus on the island (August 20, 2020). With his eye still focused on maintaining the great talent on his still operational label Minty Fresh, his passion now lies in creating and distilling the most exquisite rum available in the world. In the 68th episode of the Life In General Podcast we discuss something we have noticed over the last 10+ years, younger generations have become disinterested in their independence. While trying to stay away from judging parents for the way they raise their children, we try to figure out what has created this trend. Somehow, we also get sidetracked for the last ten minutes or so by getting sucked into a short flat Earth conversation. Additional, Ian’s contribution to the episode was making it “minty fresh” with his loud mints that he gleefully sucked on for most of the episode. Music provided by DJ F.A.M.E. and bensound.com.
