Changing horses doesn't make sense. But what if we could breathe new life into our existing workflow without having to relocate a single file? That sounds more palatable. Over the years I've covered quite a few including RAW Power, Luminar, and Pixelmator. I had always wanted to include ON1 in that list, but my tests had hit bumps in the road. But now with ON1 Effects 2021, I can say that it's been a great ride. Can Use it with and for Practically Everything Regardless of what your base app is - Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One Pro, Photos for macOS, PaintShop Pro, or Affinity Photo - Effects can add creativity and capability to your existing workflow. It includes tools for masking and retouching. There are tons of presets included, and you can create your own as well. My favorite part are the Filters. There are some truly interesting and creative ones including B&W, Glow, Grunge, Dynamic Contrast, Channel Mixer, Skin Retouching, Sun Flare, and many, many more. Powerful, but Easy to Use Printing too One of the delightful surprises I discovered while testing Effects was its well thought out printing module. This is something that I've been disappointed with time and time again with other applications. Not this time. The Effects print module is easy to use, but provides the options that most photographers are looking for. And the very cool thing about it, is that you can use the print module while in plugin mode. In the case of Photos, I went to Edit, chose Effects, then set up my print job within the plugin. It worked great. And if you load your manufacturer's print driver instead of using AirPrint, you'll have even more options in the Setup dialog. This is very nice. But I've discovered that it's useful for all of my photography. It's a robust tool for both my Photos and Capture One Pro workflows. And it's a great way to get the most out of my iPhone shots as well. Next MacBook Air Powered by M2, To Come in Multiple Colors: Report You can read the entire article on Petapixel. If a new rumor is to be believed, Apple wasn't done using color with its new M1 iMac series: the design aesthetic is coming to the next MacBook Air as well. Famed Apple leaker Jon Prosser, who has a pretty decent track record, has released a set of new renders that he says is indicative of MacBook Air designs he was shown from his own source at the company. As reported by Digital Trends, the renders feature several notable changes to the current MacBook Air design. The most obvious change is that the computer will supposedly be available in one of seven colors: Silver, Blue. Yellow, Orange. Pink, Purple, and Green. Not coincidently, those are the same colors that Apple's newly-announced M1 iMacs are available in. The experimental PowerShot PICK camera can analyze a scene, identify people, track their faces and then, using artificial intelligence, determine the ideal moment to capture a photo. In a rough translation, Canon refers to the PICK as an 'automatic shooting camera.' The PowerShot PICK combines Canon's optical, video processing, and artificial intelligence technology. The PowerShot PICK uses a 1/2.3-inch 12MP CMOS image sensor. The sensor is paired with a 19-57mm equivalent zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F2.8. The PICK includes built-in image stabilization. The PICK pans 170° in both directions and can tilt 110°. The PICK records to a microSD card and weighs a mere 170g. As you can see in the video above, the PICK is small, with a height of about 3.5" (90mm) tall. While the PICK is designed to take photos automatically in the background, which Canon believes will result in more authentic images and better mementos, the PowerShot PICK can also be manually controlled using keywords. A user says, 'Hello PICK,' followed by commands to take a photo, record video, change subjects and stop capturing. The PICK will launch alongside a dedicated smartphone app, allowing you to view and share photos and videos captured by PICK. The app automatically recommends the best photos, although you can view all images. The Canon PowerShot PICK is currently available only to backers on Makuake. The price for the PICK works out to just under $400. Given the campaign's success, the only remaining units are for the PICK and charging cable. The tripod bundle has sold out. Canon intends to ship the PICK to backers this July. Canon hasn't announced global or public release plans, so it's unclear if the PowerShot PICK will be available outside of Japan. In Short Circuits: Not content to interfere only with US elections, Russia is now actively opposing development of 5G cellular networks in the United States with disinformation campaigns while encouraging 5G development in Russia. Scaremongers have been spreading concern about cellular signals and Wi-Fi for years even though there is no scientific evidence to support their outlandish claims. Your smart phone probably does a good job with high dynamic range photographs, but a real cameera (even a point-and-shoot camera) can do even better. In Spare Parts (only on the website): Apple is splitting ITunes into 3 separate applications and there's finally a new Mac Pro for those who need desktop power, but at a huge price. • Flipboard has been hacked. Although the service doesn't store any important information about users, there's still a cautionary tale here.

But, few software companies who support creatives have invested as much in this area as Adobe. Bio "I have been a massive UK Garage fan since the early 90's back in the days when Exposure was in Club Colosseum in Vauxhall. I spent most of my late teens in and around clubs in London and started off raving to the hard house. A friend of mine showed my the UKG arch in Chunnel Club one night in Vauhall and I never looked back, Garage has been my passion ever since. I messed about with vinyl back then but never really mastered the art, then life took over and I didn't get a chance to keep it up. It was only since the year 2014 when I got right back into the game and got myself a little Pioneer controller and started to build a nice following on YouTube. Then it was the task of ripping old vinyl tracks and sourcing a huge library of old classics and upfront fresh bangers. I pride myself on pushing the scene forward and finding up and coming producers, those guys keep me well supplied and always bring the fire."
