Directed by Ky Dickens, Show Her The Money follows four dynamic female founders battling systemic barriers to secure venture capital - and the game-changing women investors who back them. From inclusive fashion to beauty rooted in Ayurveda, the featured businesses challenge norms and stereotypes, and their journey highlights a core reality: women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding globally. This documentary is a rallying cry to change that. The movie also features rock-star female investors who invest in diverse women entrepreneurs with innovations that will change the world including - Wendy Ryan, a powerhouse investor using her generational wealth to empower women and BIPOC entrepreneurs. "Show Her The Money" reminds us that money is power, and women need it to achieve true equality. Watch the trailer here About the Panel: Women Investing in Women Wendy Ryan, CEO of Kadabra and bestselling author of Learn Lead Lift, uses her generational wealth to empower women entrepreneurs. She explains the rationale for investing in women, "If I write a woman a $10,000 cheque she is going to go much further with it than a similarly situated male would - returns are actually better when you invest in women." She is an executive producer in Show Her The Money along with Sharon Gless from Cagney and Lacey fame. Joining her in Dublin is VC and Angel investor Lata Setty who has a diverse background in patent litigation and tech entrepreneurship. Setty is the inaugural Investor and on Advisory Board of Silicon Valley Women's Founder Fund. While the current growth rate of around 6% is a concern, Setty argued that it may be a temporary slowdown and not a reason for alarm. In an interview with The Indian Express, Setty explained that the country's long-term growth story remains intact, highlighting the importance of consumption and private capital expenditure to fuel future economic growth, even amid recent challenges.Sunita Williams' Return to Earth Delayed by SpaceX Launch ScrubNASA astronaut Sunita Williams' long-awaited return to Earth has been delayed after SpaceX scrubbed the launch of a replacement crew to the International Space Station (ISS). Welcome to Top of the Morning by Mint, your weekday newscast that brings you five major stories from the world of business. It's Friday, February 7, 2025. This is Nelson John, let's get started. State Bank of India (SBI) posted a net profit of ₹16,891 crore for Q3 FY25, an 84.3% year-on-year surge. Chairman C.S. Setty highlighted a pickup in private capital expenditure, though sectors like steel remain sluggish, report Anshika Kayastha and Gopika Gopakumar. Despite these headwinds, SBI's corporate loan pipeline remains solid, with ₹4.8 trillion in sanctioned or under-process loans as of December-end. Setty is confident about meeting the bank's 14-16% credit growth target for FY25, supported by budget measures aimed at boosting disposable income and consumption, which are expected to fuel credit demand. Global private equity giant Blackstone is exploring a potential sale of its majority stake in Bengaluru-based digital learning platform Simplilearn, report Mansi Verma and Sneha Shah. This comes more than three years after its initial $250 million investment. A Simplilearn spokesperson, however, has denied any plans for an exit or the appointment of investment bankers.Since acquiring over 60% of Simplilearn in 2021, Blackstone has seen the company recalibrate its strategy amid a broader slowdown in the edtech sector. Once focused on rapid expansion, Simplilearn has pivoted toward profitability, cutting its FY24 Ebitda losses by 75% by discontinuing select programs and doubling down on core offerings. This shift reflects the broader challenges in edtech, where reduced funding and the return of physical classes post-COVID have pushed many firms to prioritize sustainability over aggressive growth. Employees expecting bigger pay hikes this year may be in for a disappointment, as salary increments are set to be lower than last year's, which were already the smallest in nearly a decade. Consultants and firms Devina Sengupta and Samiksha Goel spoke to cited slower corporate earnings and economic growth as key reasons for tighter budgets and more conservative raises. According to Aon's Annual Salary Increase and Turnover Survey 2023-24, the average salary hike stood at 9.3% in 2024, down from 9.7% in 2023. The outlook for 2025 is even softer, with Mercer forecasting an average increase of 9.4%, a sharp decline from the peak of 10.6% in 2022. With companies shifting focus from aggressive hiring to retaining top talent, some are offering unique perks—such as exclusive credit cards—to keep key employees engaged. However, only a select group of high performers is likely to see significant pay bumps. In a high-profile insider trading case, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has barred two former IT executives, Keyur Maniar and Ramit Chaudhri, from the securities market for a year. Maniar, a former senior vice president at Wipro, and Chaudhri, previously with Infosys, were found guilty of trading on confidential information about Infosys' $1.89 billion deal with Vanguard before its public announcement on July 14, 2020. Sebi's investigation revealed that Chaudhri shared details of the deal with Maniar, who then made ₹2.6 crore in profits from trading Infosys shares. The regulator's surveillance system flagged unusual trading activity around the announcement, leading to a probe that confirmed the misuse of unpublished price-sensitive information. Jas Bardia and Varun Sood take a deep dive into the Sebi probe and how the case unfolded.Recent hits like Singham Again, Animal, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 reveal a trend where most box office earnings are concentrated in the first week of release. Over 60% of a film's total revenue often comes within its opening days, signalling a shift towards shorter theatre runs. Lata Jha speaks with Rahul Puri of Mukta Arts, who notes that films now face immense pressure to perform immediately, especially with the quick transition to streaming platforms. For movies relying on word-of-mouth to gain traction, this presents a unique challenge. Devang Sampat from Cinepolis India emphasizes that while the opening weekend is key, sustaining positive reviews is crucial for a film's long-term success.

Let's get started:Indian stock market benchmarks—the Nifty and Sensex—resumed their downward march on Thursday, falling by 0.73 per cent. The Reserve Bank of India kept the repo rate steady at 6.5 per cent for the ninth time in a row, pointing to a slower-than-expected drop in inflation. The decision aligns with the ongoing scrutiny of rising food prices, which greatly influence the consumer price index. Though some members advocated for a rate cut, the majority voted to maintain the current monetary stance. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said while India's economic growth appears robust and forex reserves have soared to $675 billion, achieving the 4% inflation target remains challenging. Persistently high food prices, especially in June when vegetable prices rose sharply, are a key concern. Shayan Ghosh reports on the central bank's decision amid slow disinflation.Foreign airlines are increasingly tapping India's rich pool of aviation talent amid rising travel demand. Airlines such as Riyadh Air, Turkish Airlines and Saudia are conducting recruitment drives in India to hire cabin crew, particularly for flights with many Indian travellers. In this episode of Market Minutes, Nandita Khemka talks about the key factors to watch out for today. The Indian markets failed to hold on to the morning gains and ended lower for the third straight session on Tuesday amid volatility led by mixed sectoral performance. At close, the Sensex was down 125 points at 78,633, and the Nifty was down 63 points to end below the psychological 24,000 mark. This morning global cues are mixed to positive with Wall Street snapping a three-day losing streak and Asian markets trading largely in the positive zone. The GIFT Nifty, too, is hinting at a strong start. Among stocks to watch, SBI will be in focus as the government appoints CS Setty as the next chairman of the state-owned lender. Also, watch out for PB Fintech, Suzlon, and Godrej Consumer among others. Catch Anand K Rathi, Co-Founder, MIRA Money in the Voice of the Day segment. Today's episode explores the novel concept of Managed Farmland! Since Covid, we have seen a rise in plotted development launches across the outskirts of metros along with tier 2 & 3 cities, as people crave open space, clean environments and a connection to nature. As urban Indians start to put more thought into their health, wellness, and living a sustainable lifestyle, we're seeing a new trend emerge in India in the form of managed farmland.A lot of us may dream of retiring to a farm outside the city, but the process of actually setting up something like this in India can be complicated, not to mention all the work that goes into running a farm successfully. To solve for this, today's guests have worked on managed farm plots that utilize technology along with permaculture and regenerative farming principles, to help new age urban farmers realize their visions. Mr. Chitlur and Mr. Setty have been working on this concept through Hosachiguru Farms for more than a decade, and joined Hosachiguru after their own entrepreneurial ventures. Today, they have over 1000 customers, and have delivered 1200+ greened acres, creating ecosystems through timber and food forests for their growing community of co-farmers.In today's episode, we discuss how managed farmland works, how farmland should be viewed from an investment lens, creating farmhouses and unique experiences, the principles of regenerative agriculture, and much more!So get ready for some Concrete Conversations!Have questions about Real Estate? Are you biased? Do you have prejudices? How do you know what you know? Why do you believe what you believe? Welcome to a deep, thought provoking episode with my guest Dr. Madhava Setty. Dr. Madhava is an only child of parents that immigrated to the United States from South India in 1965. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. and worked in the Aerospace and Defense Industries for six years. In the spring of 1992 he participated in a research expedition to the polar ice cap funded by the Office of Naval Research. That experience at the “top of the world” completely changed his life... He was no longer willing to participate in any effort that wasn't directed to the alleviation of suffering on this planet. He received his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine and training in Anesthesiology at The University of Pennsylvania. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2003 and has been in clinical practice since 2002. Closely observing thousands of patients under Anesthesia led Dr. Madhava to ask fundamental questions around ideas that have gone unchallenged for a very long time: What does it mean to be awake? Does awareness require a functioning body or does it arise of its own? He was astounded to realize that “our understanding of who we are as conscious beings is based on assumptions that can easily be overturned” if we are willing to examine them openly. It turns out that unchallenged assumptions underpin our understanding of much of the world outside of the Operating Room as well. It is a matter of how closely we are willing to look… You can find Dr. Madhava's substack here: "An Insult to Intuition". He also has a website and a page featuring his work for Children's Health Defense, which contains articles that critique the CDC, the pandemic response, and the safety and efficacy of the mRNA products. He has also been featured on an independent media platform called ThePulse. If you loved this talk, you'll also enjoy... 184. Be the Author of Your Life! Dr. Emily also discusses the challenges of consent and the importance of understanding the complexities of sexual interactions. She emphasizes the need for role models who can model healthy relationships and provide guidance to young boys. Dr. Setty also highlights the importance of open and honest conversations, as well as the impact of social media and education on young people's understanding of consent. In episode 210 of The Just Checking In Podcast we checked in with academic Dr Emily Setty. Emily is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey and focuses on research around young people and their relationships, harmful sexual behaviour and online harms. In this episode we tackle the issue of consent education and wider sex education for young people today, especially young men. We discuss why so many young men are scared of having false allegations of sexual abuse made against them, how this has happened and the implications of it on their ability to develop meaningful relationships as men as adults. We break down the myth of 'oppressor vs oppressed' label that some parts of society are seeking to paint boys and girls with and how we educate both sexes properly about this issue without alienating one over the other. We also discuss how we educate boys how to spot the signs of coercive control and domestic abuse in their relationships and the importance of building trust in boys in order for them to discuss their mental health issues or others openly in group settings without resorting to comedy, self-deprecation or bravado. We finish this topic by discussing the biological differences between men and women when it comes to mental health and the importance of avoiding a once-size-fits-all approach to young men's mental health. For Emily's mental health, Emily's father died suddenly when she was 21 years old after suffering with mental health difficulties for most of her life and addiction. We discuss how the grief affected her and why she took on a support role for the rest of her family, unfortunately to the detriment of her own mental health. After starting her job as a university lecturer, a combination of factors led to her developing an Eating Disorder, specifically Anorexia. We discuss how and why it developed, how the medical system treated it and how she overcame it. We finish by discussing how that grief for her father manifested in people-pleasing in her adult life, how she put positive mechanisms in place to manage it and the reaction people-pleasers in recovery receive from other people when they finally set positive boundaries. As always, #itsokaytovent You can follow Emily on social media below: Twitter: https://twitter.com/emilysetty Support Us: Patreon: www.patreon.com/venthelpuk GoFundMe: www.gofundme.com/f/help-vent-supp…ir-mental-health Merchandise: www.redbubble.com/people/VentUK/shop Music: @patawawa - Strange: www.youtube.com/watch?v=d70wfeJSEvk
Saish Setty is the General Counsel at Parallaxes Capital, an emerging alternative asset manager focused on TRAs (Tax Receivable Agreements) and esoteric assets. As a senior member of the company's deal team, he spearheads the development of TRA strategies, a complex alternative asset class. Parallaxes has deployed more than $250 million across its various funds. After graduating with a BA in economics from Princeton, Saish earned his JD from Harvard Law School. Before joining Parallaxes, Saish was an Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and began his legal career in the restructuring and finance department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. As an authority in the legal industry, he has been featured in Fitch Solutions' LevFin Insights, the Reorg Radio podcast, and Forbes. Saish has spoken at events and conferences, including ones sponsored by the Practicing Law Institute and the CFA Society's High Yield Bond Master Class. Having transitioned from corporate law to a growing startup, he can instruct junior associates on making the shift. In this episode… Some lawyers are content in their roles at private practices, whereas others want to make a more significant impact. These driven professionals are often attracted to startups, where they can contribute to long-term growth. However, transitioning from BigLaw to business is not a hasty decision, as substantial career changes can be a difficult adjustment. Before trading your law firm duties for a fast-growing startup, what should you consider? With more impact comes additional responsibility, which Saish Setty experienced firsthand after moving from BigLaw to an emerging alternative asset startup. You may be required to lead pivotal decisions for growth and innovation, undertaking projects in new disciplines without prior experience. Before making the shift, Saish says to uncover the origin of your interest in the legal business. This helps you identify potential doubts and adjust your mindset to prepare appropriately. If your drive is authentic, acquire skills, experience, and knowledge in sales by joining client pitches and attending networking events. Tune in to this episode of The Lawyer's Edge Podcast as Elise Holtzman sits down with Saish Setty, Parallaxes Capital's General Counsel, to talk about transitioning from BigLaw to the startup space. Saish addresses the functional and cultural differences between business and BigLaw, how a background as a private practice lawyer translates to a general counsel role, and investors' interest in TRAs.
Listen Now to Jill and Madhava While on our cross continent road trip we visited a very dynamic couple Jill Goldman and Madhava Setty at their beautiful home near Concord, Massachusetts. Some of you may have met them in Santa Cruz over the last few years, as they were in our local community during the pandemic. Their home is a hub of activity, with Jill leading workshops in goddess embodiment, yoga, being your higher self, while Madhava writes about his science-oriented work with RFK Jr., threats to our 1st and 2nd amendment freedoms, vaccine safety analyses, defending physicians that stand up to authoritarian attempts to control their profession, all while maintaining his practice as an anesthesiologist. This is a deep, fascinating, and fun interview with them both, enjoy! L-R All, Sun, Madhava, Jill

My next guest is Rajesh Setty. He is often referred to as Silicon Valley's secret "spark plug" for startups, scale-ups (and shake-ups)Being a Polymath, Rajesh is constantly in the middle of running experiments across a variety of seemingly unrelated areas of interest, but with the common goal of how to create a better world through the projects, he incubates as one of the founders or participates in some meaningful capacity to help the founders.Together, the startups that Rajesh has co-founded are valued at $150+ million, and the ones where he serves as a mentor are valued at $700+ million. Finally, he has also taught 2000+ entrepreneurs as part of Founder Institute & beyond. His latest startups are Audvisor and MentorCloud. His latest books are "Six Foot World" and "Smart, but Stuck."His latest courses are "The Right Hustle" and "Flourish by Design."We talked about(01:22) Rajesh's fearlessness of publishing(11:53) Attach yourself to effort and detach yourself from results(18:45) Relationship building and social media(26:38) How Seinfeld provided him with infinite motivation to create(30:26) Mental health is about stories we tell ourselves about ourselves(33:18) Value creation is about giving meaningful gifts at scale with low incremental costs(38:11) 3 kinds of value creation: Delta T, Delta B, and Delta E(61:26) How a bicycle metaphor illustrates value creation for organizations(65:16) How to stay calm even amidst triggering events(69:22) How to manufacture goodness from misfortunes(78:04) The art of making good asks(78:11) The 3 time scale of relationships: long term, very long term, and lifetime(101:04) Choose 3 things carefully: projects, conversations, and people(102:56) How to ignore the critics on the internet(104:27) Rajesh's hack for gaining capacities at scale
The opioid epidemic is something tangible that is affecting many populations and taking away a significant number of lives. On today's episode of Straight Outta Health IT, we are honored to have two industry experts, Amar Setty and Bryan Marascalchi, talking about the opioid epidemic and what we can do to improve these drugs when used in pain management treatments. The opioid epidemic has had several waves, starting in the late nineties and all through today. Many of these drugs are prescribed to patients and used during pain management, but more and more can be found developed illegally in the black market such as fentanyl. Dr. Amar Setty starts the conversation by laying the ground about why the prescribed opioid epidemic happened and stating that the opioid crisis is linked to chronic pain management, but is not the same. As Dr. Setty explains, proper pain management of an injury may prevent chronic pain, making it manageable, with solutions like his company Patient Premier. Addiction is usually a cause of improper pain management treatments. When patients get their medications off the street instead of under the guidance of a physician, they will tend to develop an addiction. This is what usually happens to vulnerable, poor, or racially-biased populations. Then, Dr. Bryan Marascalchi shares a little bit of his journey in anesthesia and pain medicine and then dives deep into how communities and organizations can address the social determinants of health around the opioid epidemic. Together, Dr. Marascalchi and Dr. Setty talk about the mental health factor around the abuse of opioids, restating that if patients stick to the regime their physician has provided, they will be safe. Patient Premier started as the link between technology and the several ways to improve the opioid addiction epidemic. Even though we believe pain is ultimately subjective, there are several ways to have metrics and analyze it. Through data analysis, Patient Premier is helping insurance companies and payers find the best ways to pay for the treatments and medications patients require. Both co-founders share their thoughts on the future of data and technology leveraging in the pain management space, stating their improvements, challenges, and expectations. Tune in to this incredible episode about a well-misunderstood topic that everyone in the space needs to be aware of. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/christopher-kunney/support

If you're feeling the fatigue of navigating the news during COVID you're not alone. I personally know a lot of peple who feel this way. But given what has happened over the last few years through the decision making of government, is how a good time to stop paying attention? This is a tough question, because in many ways it's healthy to know when to say enough, but when the stakes are as high as they are now, surely we have to stay in the game no? My Guests today are Dr Madhava Setty and David Helfrich. Madhava is a physician who has been actively engeged in examining and reporting on COVID related literature since the onset of the pandemic, and David is a lawyer who has been curiously reflecting on the nature of COVID restrictions and their affect on rights, as well as much of COVID literature in general. We'll talk about COVID news fatigue, the value of information, some key takeaways we must consider when looking at the COVID era, and as always we'll get into a deeper set of philosophical and metaphysical questions asking whether COVID has applied an evolutionary pressure for the consciousness of humanity.
