In this episode you will learn about: The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered between 1947 in the caves of Qumran near the Dead Sea, are considered the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century. They contain over 900 manuscripts, offering profound insights into Jewish life and scriptural interpretation during the Second Temple period. The scrolls are attributed to a Jewish sect most likely the Essenes who withdrew from Jerusalem in protest against what they saw as a corrupt priesthood. They settled at Qumran, living in purity and waiting for the apocalyptic end of days. The discovery included stone vessels, ritual baths (mikvaot), and a scriptorium, all indicating a monastic, religious lifestyle deeply rooted in Scripture. There are three important historians that wrote about them: Philo of Alexandria, Josephus flavious and Pliny the Elder. Philo of Alexandria mentions that the essenes live in villages, not cities, to avoid moral corruption. They renounce wealth and personal property, living communally, they devote themselves to peace, agriculture, and virtue, rejecting war and slavery. Josephus flavius had the most information about the essenes, they reject pleasures, value virtue, and live communally without private property, they avoid marriage, live simply, and emphasize purity and ritual cleanliness, they follow strict discipline, practice daily prayers, and eat in sacred silence and their souls are believed to be immortal, and they view the body as a temporary prison. While Pliny the elder wrote only about the geographical location in his Natural history book and he says that the Essenes live near the Dead Sea, avoiding cities and women, they have no money, only palm trees and simplicity. Not much in details. Three Categories of Scrolls Biblical Canonical Texts: These are the oldest known Hebrew Bible manuscripts, predating the Masoretic Text our primary Hebrew Bible source by over 1,000 years. Every book of the Hebrew Bible was found—except Esther. Apocryphal and Pseudepigraphal Texts: These include works like 1 Enoch and the Book of Jubilees—books that were influential in early Judaism and Christianity, even if not canonized. Sectarian Texts: Unique to Qumran, these writings detail community life, beliefs, and regulations, including the Community Rule, War Scroll, and Thanksgiving Hymns. They reveal a society organized around purity, hierarchy, and eschatological expectation. For the complete Video online course check our website: www.twinsbiblicalacademy.com/paid-courses
In the Quran chapter 2 verse 1 to 20, three categories of people are mentioned. The first are the righteous, who believe in the unseen, perform prayers, and give from what God has provided for them. They believe in the Quran and the revelations that came before it, and are certain about the Hereafter. They are guided by their Lord and will be successful. The second category are the disbelievers, who will not believe even if they are warned. God has sealed their hearts and hearing, and they will face a great punishment. They are deceived by their own lies and refuse to believe in the truth. The third category are those who pretend to believe, but their hearts are sick with deception. They try to corrupt the earth and deceive God and believers, but they only deceive themselves. They have chosen misguidance over guidance, and are like those who walk in darkness, unable to see or hear. They fear death and try to avoid it, but God surrounds them with His power.

Welcome to part two of this two part episode with Metic.Today's guest is Metic, a producer who fuses soulful guitar grooves with laid-back hip-hop beats. His playing is rooted in blues and finger-style guitar and his productions are informed by 90s boom-bap, G-funk, and trip-hop. A frequent collaborator, the Brooklyn-based, Hong Kong native continues to draw inspiration from both cities. This is showcased in his album release: Thoughts on Home and Symmetry, which documents his life and travels across his home and hometown. In Part Two of this two-part conversation, we discuss:- Quality versus quantity as it pertains to relationships.- Metic's experience releasing vinyl using crowdfunding through Qrates as well owning the process independently.- The three major categories of work as an artist and how to approach allocating your energy across each one.- Managing expectations in a way that allows you to maintain forward motion.- And, a reminder that you don't have to be good at everything in order to succeed.By the way…If you haven't already, I invite you to listen to Part 1 of this conversation for additional context as some topics re-emerge and develop.Top 3 Gems From This Convo:1. The Craft Is At The Core.Today's artist is expected to take on many responsibilities beyond the making of the art. However, it is important to find a way to be sure you are prioritizing what is at the heart of what you do: make art.2. Learning To Say No.This we know: It isn't possible to do everything. So, when an opportunity arises that is not aligned with your goals, outside of your capacity, or simply uninteresting, it's OK to say no.3. You Don't Have To Be The Best At Everything. As mentioned in Podium #5, “Success Occurs In The Privacy Of The Soul.”Assess your talents and abilities as objectively as possible. Do what you can with what you have. You're lack of knowledge or skill in one area does not necessarily prohibit success.Remember: A skill is not a static quality, but a learned and dynamic ability that changes based on the attention we invest.Listen on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube.Tap in with toru:Substack: Instagram: @torubeattiktok: @torubeatTap in with Metic:Instagram: @meticmusicTo jump to a specific moment in the conversation:0:00 Intro 2:22 All Terms Are Negotiable 4:30 Quality v. Transformative Leadership Conversations with Winnie da Silva
“Every once in a while we discover a question that turns out to be particularly powerful in terms of the benefits that come from a team grappling with it. And so the question is this: ‘In order for this team to deliver on our business objectives this year, what is the high value, highly interdependent work that we must do together? ” - Peter AxelsonIn this podcast episode, Winnie and Peter discuss the concept of "Joint Work" as a critical building block for developing effective teams. They emphasize the importance of identifying the shared work that a team must do together, which is distinct from individual or subgroup work. Episode Highlights:Pizza StoryPeter shares the origin story of this concept of Joint Work. When working with a group of managers to help them understand the importance of understanding their shared work as a team, he uses a pizza analogy. He distinguishes between the "crust work" (individual work) and the "points work" (work requiring collaboration across the whole team).Three Categories of WorkWinnie and Peter introduce the three categories of work that effective teams must define: individual work, subgroup work, and joint work. These categories help teams understand the different levels of interdependence in their work and then build the appropriate collaboration mechanisms. Joint Work ContinuumJoint work varies greatly in quantity across teams, forming a continuum. Some teams may have a small portion of joint work (like small points on a pizza), while others have a significant portion (like large points). In general, as the size of a team increases, and as the functional diversity of a team increases, the amount of joint work in the team decreases. Some teams will end up having a small amount of joint work and some teams will end up having a large amount of joint work. Having more joint work is not “better” than having less - what's important is that the team has clearly defined that work which entails a high level of interdependence.Powerful QuestionPeter highlights a powerful question for teams: "In order for this team to deliver on our business objectives, what is the high-value, highly-interdependent work that we must do TOGETHER?" This question encourages teams to reevaluate and redefine their work. Peter notes that across the hundreds of teams with which he has worked, every team has, to some degree, changed how they define the work of their team. Joint Work Discovery ProcessWinnie and Peter describe how they help teams discover their joint work. This process includes a workshop setting where the team reviews their business objectives and defines their joint work. They use seven categories of joint work to help the team think broadly about what their joint work should be. Work Process AlignmentWinnie and Peter stress the importance of aligning work processes with the team's joint work. They explain that team meetings and other processes should be reflective of the type and amount of joint work.Benefits of Defining Joint WorkPeter highlights two key benefits. First, teams that invest in defining their joint work often realize they have been doing the wrong work together. Second, these teams become more focused, experience less tension, have more productive meetings, use time efficiently, and collaborate more effectively. Winnie and Peter acknowledge that defining joint work is, at first, a challenging and messy process, but one that produces huge benefits for teams. They offer their assistance to teams interested in delving deeper into this concept.ResourcesWinnie da Silva on LinkedIn Get the whole season and the companion guide at Winniedasilva.comMining Group Gold by Thomas A. Hello So Deep Peeps! Welcome to That's So Deep. This is the podcast where we try to root out loneliness one conversation at a time. Today's episode is titled Feedback: It's Everywhere…So Why Do We Get it Wrong? Some deep things we cover:Feedback is Life: Understanding feedback helps us grow and connect to each other.First Understand Feedback: Don't take feedback at face value. Before reacting to feedback, ask questions. Three Categories of Feedback: Appreciation, Coaching and Evaluation.Cross Transactions: When we are asking for one type of feedback and we get another type it creates conflict and disconnection.Human Intelligence is Organized Around Stories: Computers manage and access data but human intelligence is organized around stories. Beware: we often think our interpretation of data is the data itself.Feedback is a Two-Way Street: Even if you package it well, it can be received poorly.Phyllis' Jekyll and Hyde Way of Giving Feedback: Phyllis unpacks how she tried to use appreciation to compensate for her hypercritical feedback.Pushing vs. Pulling: Pushing happens from the feedback giver and may not create the change desired in the feedback receiver. Pulling happens from within the feedback receiver and that is where the real change happens.Honest Mirrors and Supportive Mirrors: We need both types of friends who reflect the truth but also provide us with the support we need to change.Take-aways:Take a Mirror Inventory: List the supportive mirrors and the honest mirrors in your life. We need both types of people to help us grow.Ask For What You Need: Use the 3 categories of appreciation, coaching and evaluation to ask for what we need when we are wanting feedback. Delay Judgment and Get Curious: Ask clarifying questions about the feedback you're receiving so you can properly understand the story that the feedback giver is giving you. Hello So Deep Peeps! Welcome to That's So Deep. This is the podcast where we try to root out loneliness one conversation at a time. Today we are talking about Unsolicited Advice: The Thing We Love to Give And Hate to Receive. Some deep things we cover:How do you feel when people give you unsolicited advice?Relationship Triggers: Sometimes you can't take advice simply because of the relationship you have with the person who is giving the advice even if the advice is sound.Three Categories of Feedback: Appreciation, Coaching and Evaluation.Love and Belonging VS. Growth: Sometimes these can be opposing forces inside our hearts and minds. All Advice is Autobiographical: We inevitably give advice to others through the lens of our own lives. It is unavoidable. We see you New Moms! People are talking at you all day everyday but we want you to know that you're killing it!Being a Friend to Our Friend's Who are Stuck in a Bad Relationship: We talk about how tricky it is to speak truth, hold space and keep boundaries so we can help catch our friends when they are ready. Take-aways:To the Advice Giver:Remember that all advice is autobiographical. You are approaching your friends from your lens and your life experiences and attempting to speak into their lives. Try a more curious approach and try to understand their lens before jumping in. To the Advice Receiver: Before sharing, think about what you need: When you share with a friend, you can sometimes open yourself up for advice even if what you need is just to process your feelings. Try to figure out what you need before sharing so that you can ask for what you need and your friend can be a better friend to you.Surround yourself with loving and encouraging people: Good friends encourage, support and speak truth. Find those people and spend as much time as you can with them so that you can become the best you that you can be.***We want to have a conversation with you!The whole point of this podcast is to facilitate and encourage deeper conversations and we want to hear from you! And why two of them are a waste of time. Three years ago I recorded a video where I talked about the gaming token projects built on blockchain that I've looked at over the last few weeks. In the end, there was even enough material there for an article (to be found here: https://lnkd.in/eScHejs ), but if you prefer a guy talking in the freezing cold about it instead of reading, then all the key stuff can be heard here. Summary: these days a blockchain token needs to offer more than just decentralized transferable unforgeable digital assets because they're just too easy to spin up. You either need a new innovative associated business model or a worthwhile technological advance. That's token 2.0 in a nutshell. Amazing that the need for it has arrived so quickly.

Standout Quotes: · "If your content and the experience you've delivered are strong enough, they will beat a path to your door. The way you get somebody excited to come back is to make an amazing experience for them. Make the experience so amazing, fulfilling, and useful that they can't wait to come back." · "You have to step into their shoes, live life through their skin, and identify their pain. As a meetup presenter, you don't want to talk to everybody. You want to speak only to the people who most need and want your product or service. If you try to talk to everyone, you'll talk to no one." · "You've got to know what content you want to deliver. And before you can do content, know who you want to talk to. Know who your audience is and identify the problems they have." Key Takeaways: · There is a system connected by universal laws. And principles create the laws, so the higher we become identified in rapport, the more our vessel can flow energy through us, and we become more like the energies we channel. This is the process of spiritual growth and empowerment. So get rapport with the thing you want to be most like. · In meetups, people are looking for free stuff and expecting a sales pitch. So you have to give them useful consumable information in an enjoyable, entertaining format they can take right out into the field and use right away. And you have to demonstrate that it works in front of them. · If you are giving your audience a great experience, they will come back. You don't have to suggest that they come back because if your content and the experience you've delivered are strong enough, they will come back. · The way you get somebody excited to come back to your meetup is you make the experience amazing. You have to step into their shoes and live life through their skin. Figure out what kind of language you can use to get their attention. Speak only to the people who most need and want your message, product, or service. · When you care more about making sure your audience has an amazing experience, you won't care or think about how afraid you are in speaking, whether they like you or not, because you'll be focused on something other than yourself. Why have you been so successful in reaching some of your goals, but not others? It turns out that even brilliant, highly accomplished people are pretty lousy when it comes to understanding why they succeed or fail. It's not as simple as you are predisposed to success because you were born with certain talents or lacking in others. That's just one small piece of the puzzle, so today we're going to discuss nine surprising things that successful people do differently from the average person in this month's Build a Business Not a Job podcast with Mark Creedon. Three Categories of Thought The question of how the wealthy think was discussed in our private Facebook Group for Business Accelerator Mastermind. This opened up some great discussions amongst our tribe that we want to share in today's podcast. There are nine thoughts we're going to discuss, and they fall into three categories. What is their internal process – how are they thinking? What is their focus? What are they doing? How successful people think They see themselves as the creator of their wealth – the creator of the circumstances. They take responsibility for their lives They are committed to the process of wealth creation – Not just interested, but continuously thinking about how their actions might produce or erode wealth. They're constantly doing the work. They think big – They think what if it were possible, how could we do it, instead of assuming things aren't possible. What Successful people focus on They manage themselves first – Their mindset, their behaviours, their attitude, their actions, their growth. They are value-driven – The wealthy understand we are living in a value exchange economy – they don't focus on price or cost; they focus on adding value to others They are net worth focused. They are focused on building a portfolio of assets – Real Estate, shares, a business that will deliver multiple income streams – a money machine that allows them to live their life without putting a lot of effort in. What Successful people are doing? They play to win - While the average Australian plays not to lose, the wealthy are playing to win They are in a constant state of self-growth - they are constantly trying to grow, improve, have a bigger impact. They run in successful circles – You should surround yourself with people that will hold you to a higher standard and help you get to the next level. It is written in Mawdu at-ul-Ulum: “Teachings in the Quran alKarim are of three categories. The first category comprises facts which Allahu Taala has not imparted to anybody. Nobody besides Allahu Taala Himself knows Him, His Names and Attributes. The second type of knowledge He has intimated only to Prophet Muhammad (alaihi-salam). No one besides this exalted Prophet and the superior scholars, who are his inheritors, can explain this type of knowledge. Examples of this are the ayats called ‘mutas'habihat'.” The third category embodies teachings which He has communicated to His Prophet and has commanded him to teach them to his Umma (Muslims). This knowledge also is of two parts. The first part contains Qisas (histories), which describe the states of past people, and the Akhbar (news), which explains the things that He has created and will create in this world and in the next. These can be understood only after being explained by Rasulullah (sall Allahu alaihi wa sallam). They cannot be understood through mind or experience. The second type can be understood through mind, experience and by learning Arabic. Such is the case with deriving rules from the Quran al-Karim and understanding scientific knowledge. Imam Nasafi (rahmatullahi taala alaih) writes in Aqaid: “Meanings are to be given in accordance with the Arabic teachings.

What is considered Jewish observance? Most people will answer prayer, Torah study, Keeping Shabbos, etc. How about exercise or going to work? These mundane activities are generally not considered to be part of the service of G-d. However, the Mishkan (Tabernacle) in the desert taught us an important lesson. Divine service does not only include 'holy' activities, but it also includes the physical and mundane activities that we engage in.

Dr. Malick is the CEO of Malick Media film and broadcast studios and President of the Plumbline Network, a global leadership network. The network consists of several arms or extensions; a credentialing arm, an educational arm through the Plumbline Institute, a media arm through Plumbline.TV, as well as the missions arm of Faisal’s vision “to bring life to your story” and reach the world. Faisal is also the lead pastor of a thriving Church, Covenant of Life in Vancouver, BC. TOPICS: - God is a visionary - We are kingly priests - The constitution of the Kingdom - Functioning in the principles of God’s economy - The war between the two economies - God is the owner, we are the asset managers - Money must be valued and esteemed - Take wealth and align it to God’s vision - Mammon is wealth personified - Every person has the responsibility to handle money - God wants you to participate in both economies - Use money to make friends (Luke 16) - Reverse money laundering - God’s 10% cleanses the other 90% - Buy & Sell vs. Sow & Reap principles - Going into the world’s economy with ideas, wisdom, strategy, anointing, supernatural assistance, favor that we’re going to make money. - James 5: Money has an audience in the courts of heaven - Tithing is about honoring the covenant - Applying spiritual principles in the business world - Sow a seed of forgiveness (grace) - Entitlement vs. Inheritance/Investment mentality - When money is used for Satan’s purposes - The Lord of heaven’s armies is over money - Money is ALWAYS spiritual - Your seed has a voice that gives you spiritual rights - Root of the religious spirit is the love of money, Luke 16 - St. Francis married the spirit of poverty, and the reformation never broke that covenant. - 3rd religious hybrid economy - Why making money has warfare attached to it - God favors and loves entrepreneurs - the embodiment of faith - How to get cats to trust you - Getting set up in 2020 for the whole rest of the decade - The current chaos is all about Mammon because it’s prophetically shifting to the hands of the reapers. - Critical to build Kingdom business right now! - Bring your business into heaven - As an asset manager, the burden is off your shoulders - God wants you positioned in your business so he can transfer the wealth to you. - The Truth About Economy book - Alignment precedes assignment. - FREE VIRTUAL: The Convergence conference Sept. 18-20 Ishmael & Isaac Reunion. - God is calling them back to the table - Faisal’s conversion story at a business convention - Gos’d heart & plan for the Muslim and Jewish people GOLD NUGGETS: 1. There are 2 economies that overlap, and we have to operate in both of them. Jesus is the CFO of God’s economy, and Mammon (Satan) is the CFO of the world’s economy. God’s economy functions in the world’s economy, and we cannot separate the two. 2. God’s single purpose and vision for wealth: to establish and confirm the covenant he made with Abraham to bless all families of the earth in the person of Jesus Christ through the gospel of the kingdom. In Deuteronomy 18 it says that God gives us the power to create wealth, so we can fulfill his vision for mankind. 3. We all have a sense of purpose in our hearts. We all have an anointing. There's something unique about us. There's a passion God has placed in our spirits, something we desire and long for. When something inside you goes off when you hear words that connect to your anointing, that is revelation connected with something that was already in your spirit and it caused you to awaken to a realization of it. That's how God works. Oftentimes, he awakens things he's already placed in the spirit of people. 4. We need to be faithful with unrighteous mammon. God says all the money in the world economy is unclean from his standards, but he didn't say run away from that money. In fact, he said your definition of stewardship is based on how you handle that money, not how you spend money or save money. (Luke 16:11) 5. Three Categories of Revenue: Tithe, Seed & Bread: Never eat your seed, and never sow your bread. God’s 10% cleanses the other 90%. Be led by Holy Spirit to know which part of the 90% is seed vs. bread. You don't use seed in your business to grow your business. You use seed to sow in the Kingdom. When you tithe in your business: machinery lasts longer, get better deals on products you buy, employees are better, last longer, more loyal, won’t steal from you, better development of team dynamics, God’s favor, and you’ll be more successful. 6. Reverse money laundering: In God's economy we sow and reap. In the world's economy, we buy and sell. So we need to be out there buying and selling. Once we take money out of the world's economy and sow it into God's economy, something happens. Another spirit attaches to that money, and the spirit of Mammon is removed from that money. Now God's Spirit is attached to that money and literally angels or luminous beings now accompany that money because it’s now become heaven’s money. And when you take that money and invest it back in the world's economy, it attracts more wealth to it. So we can redeem more money out of the world's economy and repeat the cycle. I call this cycle reverse money laundering. 7. There’s a spirit of multiplication on money. It is designed to grow. It’s multiplied in the world’s economy and testifies against mistreatment. It is requesting to be reassigned back to the proper reapers to be used correctly, to establish the Abrahamic covenant. 8. Bringing the presence of God with you in business. The presence will give you their trust. This is an opportunity to thrive in business, and apply these spiritual principles. When a challenge comes up, give it back to God. It’s his business. QUOTES: - Entrepreneurship in this era is one of the most important things in God’s Kingdom. - If entrepreneurs had been established with these principles prior to the CV thing, the economy would not have shut down. The money would have already changed hands and been in the hands of God’s people. - Build according to God’s blueprint. - We need to be unashamed to carry out our assignment to create wealth. - Money always represents a spirit trying to express itself. - If you make room for my vision in your life. I'll make room for you in my vision. - Whenever money moves, it's moving in the spirit realm. Whatever spirits connected to it begins to move. - It is actually unspiritual NOT to participate in the world’s economy. - God says, “I will trust you with heaven’s wealth if you can prove you can handle the world’s money.” - Money is never lost, it just changes hands. - Money says, “Would you please reassign me to your original vision.” - Every time money is used in this world to sow, it always opens spiritual doors. Now God's Spirit is attached to that money and literally angels or luminous beings now accompany that money because it’s now become heaven’s money. And when you take that money and invest it back in the world's economy, it attracts more wealth to it. So we can redeem more money out of the world's economy and repeat the cycle. I call this cycle reverse money laundering.7. There’s a spirit of multiplication on money. It is designed to grow. It’s multiplied in the world’s economy and testifies against mistreatment. It is requesting to be reassigned back to the proper reapers to be used correctly, to establish the Abrahamic covenant.8. Bringing the presence of God with you in business. The presence will give you their trust. This is an opportunity to thrive in business, and apply these spiritual principles. When a challenge comes up, give it back to God. It’s his business.QUOTES:- Entrepreneurship in this era is one of the most important things in God’s Kingdom.- If entrepreneurs had been established with these principles prior to the CV thing, the economy would not have shut down. The money would have already changed hands and been in the hands of God’s people.- Build according to God’s blueprint.- We need to be unashamed to carry out our assignment to create wealth.- Money always represents a spirit trying to express itself.- If you make room for my vision in your life. I'll make room for you in my vision.- Whenever money moves, it's moving in the spirit realm. Whatever spirits connected to it begins to move.- It is actually unspiritual NOT to participate in the world’s economy.- God says, “I will trust you with heaven’s wealth if you can prove you can handle the world’s money.”- Money is never lost, it just changes hands.- Money says, “Would you please reassign me to your original vision.”- Every time money is used in this world to sow, it always opens spiritual doors.ACADEMY TRAINING: The 2nd Most Important Principle You’ll Learn in Your Life. Alright y'all. Let's face it: Distractions are a fact of life. You're going to face them in every area of your life and your business, and the honest truth is that if we don't face them, they're going to keep us from getting things done. I want you to reach your goals and achieve everything you want in the coming year. So let's talk about how to stay focused and eliminate distractions. All human beings are wired to be curious. We naturally gravitate toward the new, even if that keeps us from doing the things we need to do. But not all distractions are created equal. Three Categories of Distractions Let's think of distractions in the form of a stop light. STOP.Red Distractions: The distractions that you should ignore. STOP. Proceed with caution.Yellow Distractions: The distractions that cause you to slow down and think about. GO!Green Distractions: The distractions that demand your attention. Red Distractions Squirrels These types of distractions, like a squirrel zooming in front of you on a walk, divert you from your main task at hand. They might be new ideas, shiny objects, something more fun, or simply something that is going to help you procrastinate. For me, this is a normal occurrence. They steal my attention away from what I'm really supposed to be doing. I am working on one idea or objective, something new pops up, and I focus on that instead. It's easy to get derailed by these types of distractions. But honestly, they are just squirrels. These go in the Red Distractions category because they are the types of distractions that you need to stop letting steal your focus. Technology You knew I was going to go here. I can't talk about distractions without calling out the main culprit and source of distraction for so many of us. Technology notifications distract us all day long. It's a text when you're in the middle of a project or a quick browse on Facebook when you really should be writing marketing copy. Most types of technology distractions are examples of those that you can and should ignore. Those notifications come in 24/7, and they're still going to be there when you get done with your task at hand. How Do You Handle Red Distractions? Red Distractions are the easiest distractions to avoid. You shut it out, put on blinders, and force yourself to focus. This is a matter of will and discipline. If you want to get anything done, set yourself up for success. You need to eliminate any possible chance for these distractions to come at you. Put on noise-canceling headphones, go to a room or coffee shop by yourself, close all the tabs on your computer, hide your phone, and get to work. Force yourself to focus, and you'll finally start finishing. Yellow Distractions There are no hard and fast rules for ignoring these distractions. Proceed with caution, like you would at a stoplight. Stop and think before you let them steal your focus. People Around You You're going to encounter all kinds of people who have the potential to distract you-customers, team members, vendors, friends or family. When you have people in your life distracting you, you must stop and think before allowing them to steal your focus. Do their needs demand your attention, or can you set up a boundary until you have the space and time to address them? Related: How to Say No And Stand Your Ground Kids in Your Home Yes, kids are people, but we all know they present a different level of distraction than the other people in your life. Nothing can derail your plans like your kids. (Can I get an "Amen!"?) Let's be honest. When your kids need you, it's because they need one of two things: They want to play or they need help. Again, think about what is most important in that moment. Are you up against a deadline and you need to tell your kid you'll play with them later? Or are you in a place where you can be present and seize a moment with them? Related: Look For Distractions...

Related: Look For Distractions Disappointing Your Children Let’s go ahead and call something else out too: Your child will be disappointed. How can I stay focused on my work at home and not disappoint my child? You can’t. I disappoint my boys in some way every day. They want cake for breakfast, and I say no. Disappointment. They want to drill their brother in the head with a plastic power drill, and I stop them. Disappointment. They want to play outside barefoot in 20-degree weather, and I make them wear shoes. Disappointment. As mothers, we are not strangers to disappointing our kids. This just feels harder because it feels optional. I get it. You’re often choosing between two things you love. If your work is important to you, it’s okay to focus on that sometimes. In fact, it’s healthy for your kids to see you excited about and focused on something other than them once in a while. You’re doing a good job with them, and sometimes, it’s okay to get back to work. Green Distractions This one is easy. Green means go. These types of distractions are the ones that require you to stop what you’re doing and deal with it. These trump whatever task you’re working on. These may start as a distraction but become a priority. These are urgent and important things, like a crisis, emergencies, anything that is the absolute most important thing. These categories are going to give you some guidelines and direction. They’ll help you determine whether you need to stay focused or pay attention to the distractions. I’ll be honest: It’s my favorite time of year, but it can also be the most stressful time of year. It’s busy. It’s crazy. It’s fun. It’s all the things. Instead of getting to December 26 and wondering where your time went, I have a simple challenge to help you focus on what is most important every day this season! Here’s my challenge: Choose to do one thing every day that would make you really proud. Sounds simple enough, but let’s talk about what that means. One day, it might look like getting caught up on emails. The next, you might get a manicure. And the next, maybe it’s snuggling with your kids and watching a Christmas movie. This gives you permission to change your mind and priorities every single day. You can balance productivity and rest. You can get things done in your business and enjoy yourself in the process. It’s your season, and you don’t want to miss these moments with the ones you love most. Influence Psychology and Persuasion - Mike Sweet - 10 Minute Coach - Develop and Discover
This is session number 017 of the Influence Psychology and Persuasion podcast. This show is all about understanding the impostor syndrome and how it affects us. If you don't know already, the impostor syndrome is a feeling that we get whenever we feel not worthy. These impostor feelings can be subdivided into three separate categories. Three Categories of Impostor Syndrome The first is basically feeling like a fake. You know you have a little niggling inside that you're about to be found out by someone. Perhaps you're surrounded by others who you feel are more knowledgeable or skilled in certain areas, and you feel your time will come up very soon. Statements from people who feel like this would be things like "I just give the impression that I'm way more competent than I am" or even "I know that one day I'll be found out that I lacked the knowledge that those around me have". The second part is the inability to own success and to wrap it up as just being lucky. This is something that I'm sure all of us have done at one time or another. Someone may be praising a success or something that we've achieved, only for us to announce it as a fluke or that the competition at that time wasn't up to par either. The last category is fairly similar to the second and this is also discounting success. This is where a person really downplays the successes that they have had. "I don't know why you're making a fuss" or " anybody could have done it". Different variations of impostor syndrome will show for most people during their lifetime in many different areas or situations. It's extremely common though with highly achieving, highly successful people this is what separates impostor syndrome from simply low self-esteem. Impostor syndrome comes from the discrepancy of big achievements and the person not taking ownership or playing down the result. Let's have a look at some ways that you can overcome the impostor syndrome: Let go! if you're feeling like a fake it's normally because you've related it to what normal would feel like! Therefore, you need to simply detach from that perfection that you have assigned and let go of the importance that you have added to it. Grab it back! The complete polar opposite from the above, but also beneficial. If you feel like a fraud because you're lucky, then gain back some control them realise that you had so much input to the successes. Be all you can be. you have to absolutely give it your all to avoid the impostor syndrome. Let's face it, sometimes we are just lucky. So as long as you know you have added value and put in effort as much as possible, then you've done all you can. Continue driving forward. The impostor syndrome thrives and grows in stagnation. Therefore, continue driving forward and taking action, this tenacity will prove that you are no impostor and that you are worthy. the feelings may show once in awhile, but just continue producing, adding value and taking action. Accept the impostor to get rid of the impostor. You've heard me say this on the show before, " fake it until you make it" now I know that sounds like a real "impostorish", but bear with me. In order to feel like you're worthy and more successful, you need to chalk up your achievements. What that means is you need to step outside your comfort zone and try things that are new to you to realise the are in fact worthy and you are growing. And the very best way to do this, fake it until you make it!
