A submissive wife makes it a priority to eliminate distractions in the bedroom, especially digital ones. The time you spend connecting with your husband is sacred, and it shouldn't be interrupted by text alerts or social media scrolls. Turn your phone on silent, set it aside, and focus on being fully present with him. Your attention is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Protect that space from outside noise, and let it be a place of intimacy, warmth, and undivided affection. Honor the bond by being intentional, physically and emotionally.

In this insightful episode of Shark Theory, host Baylor Barbee delves into the fine line between convenience and distraction, using his personal triathlon training experiences as a foundation for broader life lessons. Baylor discusses how years of training have shifted his outlook from seeking diversions to embracing focus and efficiency, even in monotonous activities like swimming. His narrative explores how eliminating distractions, whether they involve gadgets or mindsets, can propel us towards our goals. As he reflects on the significance of intent and discipline, Baylor emphasizes that true progress doesn't stem from working harder, but rather from working smarter and more efficiently. He urges listeners to examine their own lives and question whether their routines, relationships, and habits are contributing to or distracting from their ultimate objectives. The episode is punctuated with anecdotes, strategic insights, and motivational calls to action, making it a must-listen for anyone striving for excellence in any aspect of life. Key Takeaways: Distinguish between workout and training: Transition from engaging in activities for mere distraction to focusing on efficiency and effectiveness. Question convenience vs. distraction: Evaluate if personal conveniences are aiding in goal achievement or simply serving as distractions. Accountability: Recognize personal responsibility in eliminating distractions and maintaining focus. Efficiency over effort: Success does not always require increased effort, but improved efficiency and effectiveness. Essentialism in preparation: Like Navy SEALs, learn to differentiate between necessary tools for success and excess that weighs you down. Notable Quotes: "There's a difference in working out and training." "You have to then ask yourself, the things that I buy, the people I associate with, what it is I'm doing, is it a distraction or is it going to aid me in the process of getting where I want to go?" "When you think about what it is, the point of what you're trying to do, you can now start to eliminate distractions." "Good swimmers look like they're gliding. And the same thing's true in life." "Simplify the process...what's necessary for me to use to get there."

This week on The Unbeatable Mind, Catherine Divine returns to discuss the second of the five mountains—-the ‘mental mountain!' This mountain serves as a pathway towards developing important skills like creativity, compassion, intuition, and insight.    Together, Mark and Catherine explore the many intricacies of the mind, and delve into concepts like critical thinking and cognitive bias. They muse on the development of uniquely human skills—skills that are without a doubt essential for thriving in the age of artificial intelligence. Practical techniques—-such as box breathing and mindfulness are discussed as practices to assist in taming one's ‘monkey mind', and developing a focussed and resilient mental state.    Key Takeaways: Cognitive Bias & Critical Thinking: Understand the filters placed upon our mind by social conditioning and the limits of our own perception—-and how this relates to thinking critically. Developing Mental Discipline: Learn various practical techniques to apply in the development of mental discipline, and recognize the necessity of calmness.  Free Will & Ego Death: Ponder the idea that free will is something that must be earned through mental training and the ‘fortification' of the ego.    Catherine Divine is a leadership coach, author, and yoga instructor with over 20 years of experience helping leaders unlock their full potential. Coauthor of Kokoro Yoga with her stepfather, Mark Divine, and author of Sacred Silence, Catherine holds a Master's in Transformative Leadership from CIIS and is pursuing a PhD in East-West Psychology. Think of them as the Burgess Meredith to your Rocky, the Misters Miyagi to your Daniel San … or Hillary Swank San in that third one, the John Candy to your Jamaican bobsled team, the Morris Buttermaker to the Bad News Bear of your choosing or the Gordon Bombay to your Mightiest of Ducks. Quack. Quack. Quack. Quack. Quack. Just like Powdermilk Biscuits in the big blue box, they'll give you the strength to go out and do what needs to be done, though neither Sid nor Keith are as tasty or expeditious. Today we are talking about principle #10 of the 10 principles for Eliminating Distractions, which is to work when no one else is around.  This can sometimes be the greatest distraction elimination available.  No clients, no co-workers, no phone calls.  You can sometimes accomplish more in 2 hours with no one else around than you can in 8 hours and a full office.  Take advantage of alone time whenever you can. We allow things, in our normal day, to distract us way too much.   Generally speaking, it's easier to become distracted when you're self-employed because it removes the accountability factor.  When you don't have a manager looking over your shoulder, it's tempting to mess around with distractions.  Remind yourself that those little distractions offer little return, if any at all, for the time you've invested.  Instead, stick to the productive tasks that build your success.   Over the past 10 days we have explored 10 principles to help you reduce or eliminate distractions. Which one or ones will you apply to help you be even more time efficient with your valuable time? For help with creating your ideal business and ideal life, reach out to me today and schedule your complimentary consultation. Subscribe to my high-value proven business success tips and resources Blog (https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/blog/)  Take advantage of all the complimentary business tips and tools by joining the Free Silver Membership on https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/inner-circle-store/. Want more from The Accountability Coach™, subscribe to more high-value content by looking for me on https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/my-podcast/ and on most podcast platforms and in most English-speaking countries, or by going to https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/accountabilitycoach.com/id290547573. Go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com to check out for yourself how I, as your Accountability Coach™, can help you get and stay focused on you highest payoff activities that put you in the highest probability position to achieve your professional and personal goals, so you can enjoy the kind of business and life you truly want and deserve.  As an experienced accountability coach and author of 5 books, I help business professionals make more money, work less, and enjoy even better work life balance. Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/.  Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™ If you get value from these Accountability Minutes, please take a minute to leave me a short rating and review. Today we are talking about principle #9 to Eliminating Distractions which is to learn how to cut off excessive conversation.  Just as I mentioned in the previous principle, everyone appreciates productive conversation.  If you find yourself in a conversation with someone and it's not progressing to a point or conclusion, work so you can get to a solution.  Again, this should be done politely and professionally - but it's perfectly acceptable if you do.  Superficial chit-chat is just that – superficial. If you would like to talk to someone, at least have it be meaningful so it doesn't waste your time or theirs.Tune in tomorrow for Principle #10 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. Today we are talking about Principle #5 to Eliminating Distractions which is to remove desktop clutter.  You know what I'm talking about. Magazines you say you're going to read on your lunch break and the picture of your sweetheart taped right to your computer monitor; these items need to be moved out of your immediate and frequent field of vision.  It's OK to have personal items near you; they just shouldn't be right in front of where you look most of the time. Only keep those items on your desk that you are currently working on.  Anything else can cause a distraction and slow you down from getting your work done.  Place only current files needed on your desk or desktop, while the others are filed away until you need them.  If you are a paperless organization, open only one computer file at a time.  Tune in tomorrow for Principle #6 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. If this applies to you, how will you apply the concept from today? As an experienced accountability coach and author of 5 books, I help business professionals make more money, work less, and enjoy even better work life balance.Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/.  Aim for what you want each and every day!  Anne BachrachThe Accountability Coach™ If you get value from these Accountability Minutes, please take a minute to leave me a short rating and review. Today we are talking about Principle #4 to Eliminating Distractions which is to stop spending so much time on social media to see what other people are posting, especially if you don't need it to do it to directly generate revenue.  Just don't get on it - because once you do, you're more likely to get sucked into it.  If you have to get your fix, do it at the end of the work day or a set time during the day.  Set a time that you honor - say, any time after 4pm and don't get on it before then, unless you absolutely have to. I strongly recommend to most people I coach to not check email first thing in the morning because it can derail them from what they should be doing. You can choose to let people know when you will check email, so they don't expect an immediate response, if you want to. Here's an example of an email I received from someone: “I appreciate your email.   In order to stay focused and maintain my personal effectiveness, I generally check email only once per day (Monday through Friday). If you are a client and need immediate service or attention, please call my office at (555) 778-5623.  Thank you, NAME” Tune in tomorrow for Principle #5 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. If this concept applies to you, how will you apply it to help you be more time efficient? As an experienced accountability coach and author of 5 books, I help business professionals make more money, work less, and enjoy even better work life balance.Check out my proven business accelerator resources by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/coaching-store/.  Aim for what you want each and every day!

Today we are talking about Principle #3 to Eliminating Distractions which is to screen your calls.  It's ideal if you have someone answer every call since real-person response is a vital part of a successful business.  If this is a resource available to you, establish a schedule of when you are available to accept calls.  Outside of those times, you'll need to arrange a screening process to allow only the most important calls to make their way to you.  I suggest reserving at least a few hours per day when you do accept any calls.  Again, scheduling phone appointments is ideal and leads to working as efficiently as possible. Nobody I have ever met said they like Phone Tag and want to do more of it. Tune in tomorrow for Principle #4 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. Today we are talking about Principle #2 to Eliminating Distractions which is to discourage walk-in traffic.  Granted, if you're a manager it may be more difficult to do this; but when you set specific times when you're available to talk and accept walk-ins, and times that you don't - it will help you to focus and complete tasks more efficiently.  Ideally, scheduling appointments is the most effective way to go, if at all possible.  For those who work at home, this rule applies to your family.  Establish clear boundaries when you are not to be distracted, unless it's an emergency like the building is burning down and you need to get out. Tune in tomorrow for Principle #3 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. Over the next 10 days we are going to talk about applying 10 principles to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life. Today we are talking about Principle 1 which is to honor your calendar and task list.  Honoring your calendar, doing what it has in it, will help you stay laser focus on the ‘right' activities (assuming you have the “right” activities on your calendar) and eliminate distractions.  Remember; concentrate on doing the activities that have the highest probability of you achieving your goals and that build your success.  Distractions offer no return and no profit.  Tune in tomorrow for Principle #2 to help you reduce and eliminate distractions from your life.
