The Golden Age of Fraternalism lasted from 1870 to 1920 and was a time when fraternal organizations in the US had the largest surge of popularity. These organizations included the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, the Freemasons, the Shriners and the Odd Fellows. The Odd Fellows is one of the oldest orders and while they don't have a large membership today, they were very influential at one time. So influential, that the Catholic Church declared that anyone belonging to the organization was condemned. This meant that Odd Fellow members and their families couldn't be buried in Catholic cemeteries. They established their own cemeteries to fill the need and they are located across the country. Many of these cemeteries are black cemeteries and very significant for just that reason. On this Stones and Bones, we are going to explore a few of these cemeteries. Summer at City A Consuming Fire & An Unshakeable Kingdom Hebrews 12:25-29 25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” Deut. 4:24 ESV "For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." Consuming: completely filling one's mind and attention; absorbing. "It's not that we don't want God; it's that we've found a thousand things we want more than God." - Ravenhill God's fire produces missional clarity “yet there is a spiritual force which may well be described as a shaking. It is only when the tree of the nation has a thorough shaking, that at last the prime, ripe fruit will drop down into the great Master's lap. He shakes by Providence, by the movement of the human conscience. He shakes by the impulses of his Holy Spirit; he shakes the human spirit, and as a result persons out of all the nations are brought to himself. Stones that he would have, come at last out of the quarry, and he builds them up into a temple.” -Spurgeon Haggai 2:6-7 NIV “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the Lord Almighty" Chemdah: the desire/desired of all nations 2:7b Revelation 5:9 NIV "And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation." Titus 2:13-14 KJV "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous for good works" God's fire emphasizes eternal stability v28a. Questions: Are you building your life on the unshakable Kingdom? Does the way I'm living my life in this moment make sense in light of eternity with Jesus? God's fire propels us towards intimacy v28b

Cop mode, black tar CBD, and the USA Tour Help 2015 Facebook group. Patton Magee (The Nude Party, Patton Magee) "For The Nude Party, nearly a decade has flown by in the blink of an eye. In that time, the New York-based band has released a pair of well-received albums, an EP, and played countless shows. Prior to the pandemic, the band was really starting to hit its stride. They had a system in place and were spreading their brand of melodic rock to the masses. In fact, they could count Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, and Orville Peck as vocal supporters, which led to support slots for each. Soon, incredible live appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and Shaky Knees became the norm. In late 2020, The Nude Party released its sophomore album, Midnight Manor, which debuted at #1 on the Alternative New Artists Album Chart. The sextet was unable to tour behind it and compared its release to skipping a stone over a raging river. A byproduct was that it showed the band that on their third album, they couldn't lean on their tried-and-true method of testing out new material live and then hunker down to record. Instead of sitting around, the band got busy. Setting up shop in their Upstate New York headquarters, the group used the funds they'd saved and spent a year building a studio space out of a barn. Tired of paying for studio time and being rushed, The Nude Party methodically worked at their own pace. Out were the sessions lasting a strict handful of days. In were impromptu writing moments and picking every sound as they went along. When the band met the Tampa based engineer Matthew Horner, they discovered that they had the opposite problems: Matthew had a collection of incredible gear with no studio and The Nude Party had a great new studio with no gear. So they invited him to move his equipment up to the Catskills to record an album together. Such was the origin of the band's third album, Rides On. Unlike their first two albums, The Nude Party decided to produce Rides On themselves. With their new space and the help of Horner, The Nude Party had as much fun creating as they ever had at any other point in their career. The lack of pressure allowed them to record over 20 songs, including some that dabbled in electro-pop and stripped-down country before settling on the final 14 songs. Rides On, the band confidently says, is their best record. It's also the most homegrown and the most organic record The Nude Party has created to date. Working on the album themselves allowed for a democratic process where each band member could take a fuller role in producing the songs they wrote. There was some initial trepidation about there being too many cooks in the kitchen. But as is the benefit of owning your own studio space, time was not a factor. In turn, it allowed for the band's ideas to blossom, everyone's voice be taken into account and create an exciting, collaborative vibe. The relaxed atmosphere of the sessions, and arriving with only loosely structured material, allowed the band to thrive in the studio. It also unleashed a diverse sonic texture compared to their previous releases, as best demonstrated by the title track, “Ride On.” Sonically, the song is reminiscent of Sticky Fingers-era Stones, but its lyrics are mini-vignettes where Magee sings about persevering through adversity. The twangy, blues-drenched licks of the title track, the breezy desert dust encapsulated by the ‘70s infused “Hard Times,” the Shaun Couture-led “Sold Out of Love,” the swinging ‘60s garage vibes of “Cherry Red Boots,” which captures the spirit of what The Nude Party are going for — and showcases their growth as a band. As does expanding the band's sonic palate with a cover of Dr. John's “Somebody Tryin' To Hoodoo Me.” It would have been easy to stick to the New Orleans musician's format, but the band showed off their prowess with their own darker, electric version of the deep cut. The Nude Party coalesced and embraced the spirit of collaboration. They're excited to begin the next chapter of their career. At a time when it would have been easy to pack it in, the band continues to persevere." After a long unexpected hiatus, SnapSessions! presents Episode 60, featuring an interview with Grammy-nominated guitarist Alex de Grassi and a SnapSessions! tribute to San Francisco Giants star centerfielder, Willie Mays—"the Say Hey Kid”, just maybe the greatest baseball player of all time. Alex de Grassi has been a guitarist since his early teens, growing up in a musical family in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1950s and 60s. Dropping the trumpet for the guitar after being exposed to the Beatles, the Stones and Mississippi John Hurt, de Grassi attended UC Berkeley in the early/middle 70s and took a lot of music theory along with his Economic Geography major. This led to classical guitar as well as ongoing labors as a street musician from Berkeley and SF to London, and then finally a connection with Windham Hill records and to his first album, Slow Circle, which came out in 1979. Since then, Alex has released a total of 16 albums dabbling in a variety of styles from Southern soul to Bolivian folk music to classical lullabies to the Woody the Woodpecker theme. In 1998 he was nominated for a Grammy for his album Water Garden. In addition, we talk to Alex about working with neuroscientist Daniel Levitin on his “Your Brain on Music” series, musing on the possible existence of a music gene. There's also an appreciative nod to some recent work he's done with the Real Sarahs. And we find out just how many guitars Alex de Grassi actually owns. SnapSessions! also pays tribute to the NY & SF Giants' great center fielder Willie Mays who died at the end of last summer. We cover Mays' great career, his extraordinary feats as an outfielder and hitter, and offer Doug's personal experiences of seeing Willie play both in Seals Stadium and at Candlestick Park. In addition, we've uncovered some outstanding recorded highlights as well as a musical gem saluting Willie Mays from the 1950s. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Faithbucks.com And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying, 4:16 Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan. 4:17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan. 4:18 And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before. 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho. 4:20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. 4:21 And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? 4:22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. 4:23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over: 4:24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
Version Excursion are a five piece band, who've just played at Bramstock, with great skill, infectious energy and humour - focusing on the best of British Music. They describe themselves as having the beat of the Spencer Davis Group, the swagger of the Stones, the quirkiness of Bowie, the swing of Dexys, the energy of The Jam and the hedonism of the Faces. Helen Whybrow is a nonfiction author, journalist, professor, and farmer. In 2001 she and her partner set out to restore Knoll Farm, an old two-hundred-acre farm in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont. On this episode of Nature Revisited, our friend Scott Chaskey invites Helen to discuss her 25 years on Knoll Farm raising Icelandic sheep and how she approached reflecting on those experiences in her intimate and profoundly moving memoir The Salt Stones - Seasons of a Shepherd's Life. As she intertwined her life with the land, Helen realized that the art of shepherding extends far beyond the flock and fences of a farm, revealing a way of life that is at once ancient and entirely contemporary, inspiring us all to seek greater intimacy and a sense of belonging wherever our home place may be. John 7:53-8:11 | 7/6/2025 | Pastor Matt Jones. Pastor Matt dives into a raw and powerful encounter from the life of Jesus in the Gospel of John, where a woman caught in adultery is dragged before a crowd — shamed, accused, and nearly stoned. In a world quick to cancel, criticize, and condemn, we'll see how Jesus steps into the mess — not to throw stones, but to give grace.
"Sticks & Stones" is about words that damage. Critical words are among the most destructive to our relationships and even our own spirituality.

Imagine seeking guidance from a trusted clergy or spiritual counselor who taught and instructed you to work hard at keeping a code of stone-tablet commandments in order to succeed at securing favor and blessings from God. Chances are good you won't have to imagine because you've experienced it firsthand. You were exposed to the two-headed monster known as law and grace. What they didn't understand was that they were pouring gasoline on the fire. The law written and engraved on stones is a ministry that no longer has glory. It was a source of death and condemnation. It was the strength of sin and it resulted in sin increasing ... not being reduced. The very thing Jesus came to redeem Jewish people from (the law) is the same thing that religion often burdens people with today ... albeit their own condensed version of it. It leads to bearing fruit for death, not life. The better way: Knowing your identity as one who has had their heart purified by faith, is declared righteous, holy, and perfected ... and is *already* like Jesus through an inheritance. Understanding that you are not identified any longer as a sinner will allow the Spirit of God to guide you into bearing His fruit for life. --Available on Amazon - "Clash of The Covenants: Escaping Religious Bondage Through the Grace Guarantee" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713ZSKY7
God's justice is not about punishment. It's about restoration, mercy, and healing. Drawing from Micah 6 and Joseph's story in Genesis, we see that unaddressed sin hardens our hearts, but God's invitation to repentance always carries the hope of redemption. In this message, Cleere Reaves shares how justice, mercy, and humility invite us to surrender our stones and choose restoration over retaliation.

"In July of 1962, the Rolling Stones play their first gig in the Marquee Club. The Marquee Club was one of the main venues for 1960s British rock. This week we will discuss the rather interesting history of the Marquee Club."
In this soul stirring episode, I share the powerful spiritual messages I received while walking among the ancient stones and whispering trees of Hocking Hills. These aren't just scenic trails, they're sacred teachers. The stones reminded me of time, resilience, and what truly lasts. Whether you're feeling disconnected, craving a spiritual reset, or just curious about how nature can speak directly to your soul, this one's for you.
Recorded July 29th, 2012. Billy Joel has sold more records than The Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and Madonna—though the “rock star thing” is something he can “take off.” Joel started playing piano when he was about four or five years old. He admits that he doesn’t remember how to read sheet music anymore saying it’d be like reading Chinese. That doesn’t stop the third best-selling solo artist of all time in the U.S. from plunking out a few tunes with Alec.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia became a part of the rural cemetery movement shortly after it started, becoming the third garden cemetery in America to be founded. This was not long after Mount Hope Cemetery in Maine was dedicated and revealed that the movement was spreading along the East Coast. The cemetery was much needed as the growing city had already filled up most of its churchyards. Laurel Hill would become an example for future cemeteries and today is still beloved by the residents of Philly who flock to it to enjoy the beautiful headstones, monuments and mausoleums. Laurel Hill has an important place in the history of cemeteries in America. Intro and Outro music "Stones and Bones" was written and produced by History Goes Bump and any use is strictly prohibited.
