For more than two decades, Giovanni Franzese has been working for the telecoms giant Ericsson where he served most recently as Head of Blockchain Business Development. As an engineer, Giovanni liked to experiment with different types of technologies, but it wasn't until six years ago that he decided to use blockchain technology to develop a product solution. The product, Ericsson Customer Acceptance is a big win for Ericsson. As he explains, “it's a big product, it's very successful, and we have we have a very vast adoption.” As he tells Charles Miller on this episode of CoinGeek Conversations, innovation from within a corporation is extremely complex. “Innovation comes through acquisition, it's much easier: you buy a company which has a brilliant idea,” he says. In Giovanni's case, his idea to use blockchain didn't happen overnight. He admits that transforming his idea into a viable product was a struggle at first, but he worked ‘under the radar' and step by step: “it's like Lego bricks buildings, the first one and then the second, and then it was a good building at the end,” he says. It also helped that he found an internal stakeholder to sponsor his idea.Ericsson Customer Acceptance is backed by Hyperledger Fabric, a private blockchain technology. While building the product, Giovanni wasn't aware of any public blockchain with secured scalability and high transaction rates per second. On top of that, he was wary of proposing the use of public blockchain which he colleagues might fear would potentially expose corporate data. As Giovanni explains, the challenge continued as there was resistance to a product that had the word blockchain associated to it. As he points out, “at the very beginning nobody wanted it because it's not a secret that blockchain is still a little bit controversial, especially when we have such scandals like FDX.” Despite the roadblocks, Giovanni's blockchain-based solution was deployed to several Ericsson customers. At the end, he says “the benefits were so evident.”Giovanni left his position at Ericsson to join nChain where he plans to expand the BSV-supporting global tech company into a consultant service company. Only a few weeks after taking on the role of nChain executive partner, Giovanni had the opportunity to speak at the recent London Blockchain Conference. He highlighted his experience in developing, implementing, and eventually providing blockchain solutions to big corporates. In his talk, he shared a significant career-lesson to his audience: “I don't regret what I did and the decisions I took six years ago when I decided to embrace blockchain and use private, but my message to the audience today was, if you have to start now, then don't do it in the way I did with the use of public, use Bitcoin SV, because that is the right choice today.”Giovanni is impressed with BSV's capability to do 50,000 transactions per second and compares it to Ethereum which can only do an average of seven transactions per second, he says. He then compares the two blockchains to modes of transport saying BSV is like a Ferrari while Ethereum is like a little bike. As for discussions on using private vs public blockchain, Giovanni says, “now is the time to go public.” He supports public blockchain by saying that private blockchains are for the most part centralized, costly and it don't exploit the full capabilities of blockchain technology.

On episode 342 of the BlockHash Podcast, CEO Ziv Keinan joins Brandon Zemp to chat about Simetria and how they are solving existing problems with private equity. Simetria's mission is to partner with Private Companies to help them win the increasingly intense competition for talent through compelling, cost-effective equity compensation. Equity compensation has the potential to be a valuable, life changing benefit for many employees. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case in the startup environment, as any opportunities to convert equity into capital are usually only offered to executives. Unless private companies organize a secondary liquidity event, it's almost impossible for employees to sell their equity. Simetria is making things better for both private companies and employees, by allowing companies to manage equity more effectively and helping them to provide employees with sale opportunities that increase the value of their equity holding. It also assists in winning the competition for talent by offering a more valuable compensation package. ⏳ Timestamps: 0:00 | Introduction and Pre-roll 2:30 | Who is Ziv Keinan? 13:25 | How does Simetria work? 22:15 | How to make private equity more liquid? 27:05 | Regulatory hurdles 30:40 | Simetria roadmap 34:55 | Conclusion

Dismantling racism doesn't happen by simply one self-diagnosing as being "not racist," it requires actively engaging in dismantling systems and processes that are inherently biased according to race, socio-economic status, zip-code etc. As an example, it's not enough to say "I do not promote the keeping of trash in the full, kitchen trash can," we have to move onto the action steps starting with taking out the trash. Then we can start to implement systems that prevent the filling of the trash can and signaling to draw attention when needed. I take you around that allegory to explain the premise behind the work Dr. Damon Bryant is advocating. In order to join the NFL, the NBA, get into graduate school, or compete for a job, testing is required. Rightfully so, correct? If you or your organization needed to fill its ranks with the appropriate type of talent you would need ways to evaluate applicants, I get it. What Dr. Bryant has shown is that the test that many organizations employ are flawed, biased, lack transparency, and in many cases don't actually test for their intended variables. Simply put, old systems that we have failed to tear down are impacting the trajectory of our families, generation after generation. The good news is that Dr. Brant and his team are confident that employing blockchain technology they can change the game. We see a significant Market Potential that addresses the most notable challenges companies face in deploying Blockchain Solutions - the cost and time of implementation and adoption. Vagabond sets to build its community for individuals and supports users to experiment, learn or run their dApps (e.g. NFT Marketplace) based on the Vagabond platform. Vagabonds' primary strengths are predefined processes and modules that the user can use and adapt without writing a single line of Source Code. Experts may use GitHub to deploy their own code on Vagabond or choose from our library. We asked ourselves what it would take to make Blockchain technology more accessible to a broader market. It led to the creation of Vagabond, a platform that helps individuals and organizations to implement, migrate and maintain their new and existing Projects to the vagabond Platform, with just a few clicks. -------------- OTC MERCH https://onthechain.shop BUY US A COFFEE https://otc.one/buy-us-a-coffee -------------- SUBSCRIBE TO THE OTC PODCAST: https://otc.one/podcast -------------- VAGABOND Follow Vagabond on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Vagabondappio Visit Vagabond on the web: https://vagabondapp.io Follow Dr. Thomas Riegler on Twitter: https://twitter.com/drthomasriegler Follow Navid Kiani Larijani on Twitter: https://twitter.com/NavidKianiL -------------- FOLLOW ON THE CHAIN: Subscribe to our other Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/OnTheChain On The Web: https:/onthechain.io Follow OTC on Twitter: https://twitter.com/on_the_chain Join our FREE Telegram Roundtable channel: https://t.me/onthechain_roundtable -------------- JEFF Follow Jeff on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Jeff_OnTheChain -------------- CHIP Follow Chip on Twitter: https://twitter.com/stephenchip Listen to Chip's music http://nojoyyet.com -------------- DISCLAIMER: All opinions expressed by content contributors that appear on OTC are solely expressing their opinions and do not reflect the opinions of OTC, its affiliates, or sponsors. Adrienne Valencia Garcia is currently IBM's Senior Counsel for Cognitive Systems and most recently served as IBM's Senior Counsel for Blockchain Solutions, a first-of-a-kind role created in April 2017 while she was completing a three-year assignment in Latin America. As the Senior Counsel for Blockchain, Adrienne was the worldwide legal executive focal for all blockchain engagements and oversaw the global members of the law department who supported blockchain transactions. She is a trusted adviser the senior leadership relies upon to navigate complex legal, policy and regulatory issues. Consequently, Adrienne has become a recognized thought leader in establishing IBM's positions in these areas and is a sought-after speaker in the space. Adrienne joined IBM in June 2006 after practicing as a litigator in NYC for 10 years. After various client-facing roles focused on closing key strategic deals around IBM's varied portfolio, in August 2014, she relocated to Mexico City to be the Lead Counsel for IBM's Latin America Global Consulting Services business and co-leader for IBM's internal Latin America law department education efforts. Adrienne holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in NYC and received her B.A from the State University of NY at Stony Brook. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion; and is an active alumni Fellow of the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) which works to identify high-potential attorneys from diverse backgrounds and set them on the path to leadership in their organizations. Adrienne is also a proud co-founder of the NYC Chapter of Diversity in Blockchain (https://diversityinblockchain.com/), a non-profit organization focused on empowering everyone from all walks of life to engage with blockchain technology to ensure equal participation and distribution. In 2020, Adrienne became an advisory council member of the Glamour Gals Foundation, a non-profit that organizes teenage volunteers to spend time with the elderly in senior homes and provide complimentary makeovers, which facilitate multi-generational conversations that empower women across generations. A first-generation American, Adrienne speaks Spanish fluently. In this episode, we discuss enterprise blockchain. We've all seen the hype around blockchain in the context of cryptocurrency and now NFTs - and if you haven't, you are a unicorn! Yet, we don't always hear about how blockchain technology can be used by companies to tackle some of their industry's most prolific challenges. Supply chain bottlenecks or lack of transparency? Blockchain might be a great option. Inefficient processes and too many intermediaries? Blockchain could be right for you. Let's learn about some actual use cases to expand our view of what blockchain can mean for your business or your clients' business.

There's a great quote that says, “The future is here. It's just not evenly distributed.” That was a large part of how Diginex started. Diginex is a digital financial services and blockchain solutions company. Tristan Thoma, the Director of Strategy for Diginex Americas, joins us to talk about the technology behind their company and how they acquire clients, make money, and function as a business. Too often, in the blockchain space, people get so enamored with the technology that they just want to go ahead and apply it. Tristan points out the value of asking yourself what your business is going to gain out of it and how it can make you money faster, and then evaluating if blockchain is the right application for that. Today, learn more about the technical element of blockchain and the new technology of tokenization and smart contracts, how those work, and how they can be integrated with legacy technologies. Welcome to the second episode of IBM Blockchain Pulse — the podcast that explores different blockchain use cases with leaders in the space! In this week’s episode, your host, Matt Hooper, is joined by two leaders — Jesse Lund and Jed McCaleb — to discuss cross-border payments. Their conversation today is all about financial transactions — making them frictionless, seamless, and available for everyone. Jed McCaleb is the co-founder and CTO of Stellar.org — a platform that connects banks, payment systems, and people. Their goal is to make money move around the world the way information does, post-internet. Jesse Lund is the Head of Blockchain Solutions for Financial Services at IBM. Currently, he and his team are trying to commercialize all the good that Jed is doing with Stellar by helping bring commercial and cross-border payments to the world using the Stellar protocol. Today’s interview is incredibly illuminating. They discuss the origin of the collaboration between Stellar and IBM, what they’re currently working on together, their goals and plans for 2019 and beyond, their thoughts on public vs. private blockchain networks, and much, much more. Key Takeaways: [:01] About today’s episode! [2:52] Jed and Jesse introduce themselves and explain what each of them does in the space. [4:08] Jed’s background and motivation to creating Stellar. [5:58] The commercialization that Jesse and his team are working on. [8:08] How Stellar is defining their protocol. [9:44] When will decentralized application layers (DApps) take off? [12:00] As someone who started a .org, did Jed think that one day he’d be facing this sort of customer base that is so commercially-focused on the opportunities for blockchain? [14:45] How did this collaboration between IBM and Stellar come about? [18:52] What was the white space that Jesse and Jed saw with regard to cross-border transactions that allowed it to be the first use case to test? [22:02] Jed’s experience working with IBM and how he has found the collaboration between the two. [24:13] Jesse’s theoretical pitch to entrepreneurs (like Stellar) to work with IBM. [26:50] Stellar’s role in economic advantages and incentivization for those who might otherwise be left out of the system as it stands made possible by the power of blockchain. [28:06] Check out IBM Blockchain World Wire to learn more about World Wire and what Jesse and Jed are talking about on today’s episode! [29:15] The web and its many applications have allowed for a handful of companies to become some of the most powerful ones out there when it comes to controlling people’s digital identities and the way information works. Some would argue that this means that the internet has not lived up to its original promise of being inclusive for everyone. As Jesse and Jed are building new platforms, tools, and applications, is the current situation of the web and the world something they think about and design for? [33:23] Jed explains what happened in Q4 2018 with the creation of Interstellar. [34:33] What excites Jed and Jesse in this collaboration, some of the great results they’ve seen this past year, and the latest news about JPMorgan Chase. [37:00] Is there a need for banks in the next few years? What will a bank look like in 10 years? [39:33] What does 2019 look like for the collaboration between Stellar and IBM — both technically and philosophically? [41:15] Jed gives his take on the public/private network shift with blockchain in the corporate space. [42:55] The exciting news IBM has planned for 2019: the launch of the World Wire network! [44:05] Matt thanks Jed and Jesse for joining him this podcast! Blockchain World Wire utilizzerà anche XRP ? In this episode of Profiles in Risk, I spoke with Thomas Jennings, Director of Business Development at AAIS, on his workshop presentation at the Silicon Valley Insurance Accelerator conference on January 29th in Palo Alto. We discussed blockchain (of course) but how this technology may facilitate the sharing of data between parties who may have trust concerns. We discussed how AAIS used design thinking in contemplating their solution for allowing AAIS member companies and the NAIC to share data. We also got starry-eyed about how this technology may transform how we subtly communicate and share information with one another. The title of Thomas' workshop is: Design Thinking for Blockchain Enabled Products & Business ModelsHands-on exec workshop that guides participants through definition, development & validation of a Blockchain enabled application using design thinking and what is required to launch a first POC.Register here to get 30% off: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/digital-insurance-leadership-blockchain-smart-insurance-tickets-46683944936?discount=InsNerds30 CONNECT WITH THOMAS JENNINGS: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomas-jennings-47b92533/ AAIS Homepage: https://aaisonline.com/ MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:Silicon Valley Insurance Accelerator: https://sviaccelerator.com/ SVIA Blockchain Conference on January 29th (Palo Alto): https://sviaccelerator.com/digital-insurance-leadership-blockchain-smart-insurance-2019-01/ SUBSCRIBE AT:Buzzsprout RSS: https://goo.gl/5K4X3QGoogle Play: https://goo.gl/WMAvW4iTunes: https://goo.gl/7SqwvP Overcast: https://goo.gl/8b4cbD Spotify: https://goo.gl/niAbGN Stitcher: https://goo.gl/DmE7MiYouTube: https://goo.gl/1Turar

DMG Blockchain Solutions (OTCQB: DMGGF) is a diversified cryptocurrency and blockchain technology company. CEO of DMG, Dan Reitzik, joins the podcast to explain the company's three primary focuses: mining public blockchains, deploying proprietary AML and KYC technologies, and applying permissioned blockchain technology to address fraud.
Ryan Fyfe, co-founder and CEO of WorkChain.io, expresses his thoughts on the changing digital world, blockchain and cryptocurrency. WorkChain.io is a groundbreaking cloud and blockchain rooted software company that seeks to embolden individuals, institutions, companies, and businesses by providing solutions that deliver secure work records that they can depend on. Specifically, WorkChain.io has a heavy focus on cryptocurrency and one of the areas they champion is in helping workers have more control over their money. By automating the steps from ‘work completed' to ‘paycheck delivered' their technology improves processing time and creates efficiency. Fyfe is a self-described entrepreneur, investor, and blockchain enthusiast who is passionate about changing the way the world works. He has over a decade of experience in web development and internet marketing with a keen interest in building cloud-based products for business. Fyfe was the founder and former CEO at Humanity.com as well as Shiftplanning.com, and his work has served the interests of more than half a million users across 87 countries. And he is a seasoned professional who has worked in all stages of web system development, e-marketing and application development. Fyfe discusses the archaic system of payroll processing that he feels needs a complete revolution. He recounts many of the excuses that people give for not immediately converting to a real-time payroll system, such as responsibility issues of employees, to the idea that businesses need more time to manage their invoicing, expenses, and accounting. Fyfe provides his insights into other crypto projects and the unified goal of decentralization as blockchain becomes more dominant in the marketplace. Fyfe's mission is to further the validation process such that workers can be approved for the work they have done right away, which will allow employers to advance funds immediately. From a socially-conscious perspective, Fyfe hopes his methods will eventually phase out predatory lending companies such as check cashing stores that take an enormous percentage of workers' paychecks. The blockchain expert discusses various forms of cryptocurrency, from bitcoin to stablecoin, and the ways they can be implemented into systems. He explains how stablecoin is perhaps more appealing to some due to its dollar-backed system and low volatility. Fyfe delves into the trending issue of crypto-responsibility, in other words, is the workforce responsible enough to manage their funds within a new delivery system. He highlights the pros and cons that various minds have put forth in the ongoing debate, but Fyfe's opinion is decidedly in favor of the workers' right to have their payments when work is done so they can save it, invest it, or spend it—whatever they want, for after all, they've earned it. Fyfe provides an overview of the general acceptance of these new methods of payment and delivery, and he outlines how businesses and governments of other countries and territories are embracing the system somewhat faster than those in the United States, which have demonstrated a level of reluctance. The cryptocurrency enthusiast breaks down the steps that WorkChain.io's solutions offer to employer and employee, and how smart contracts allow a sort of escrow type of relationship to flourish that delivers payment for services rendered, without delays. He muses about the many types of employer-employee contract work that can benefit from the system, from Uber drivers and other gig-based work, to shift work and beyond. As the technology is expanding and acceptance is growing, WorkChain.io is launching more preview products to continue opening the minds of skeptics, for as our digital world progresses, digital solutions to problems will become the norm.
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, you're probably familiar with bitcoin and it's rollercoaster ride for cryptocurrency speculators. I've resisted covering crypto on this podcast for a number of reasons. Most of the so-called expert guests put forward to speak on the subject are anything but. The last thing I want is to give a platform on this podcast to someone who might convince a listener to part with their hard-earned cash and speculate on something as worthless as bitcoin, or another digital coin. My views on bitcoin are pretty well known, but I have got time for its underlying platform, the blockchain. That's why, when I came across today's guest Robert Koenig, I was excited to have an informed conversation about the really useful applications of this new technology. Robert has lived in several European countries, speaks multiple languages and is a passionate believer in modern management technologies. His experience and knowledge of leadership has led to appearances on several television programmes. Since 2015 Robert has been involved in Cryptocurrencies, investing in ICOs and shaping the industry from the application point of view. His business XENTAVO emerged in 2015, and the company was founded in 2017. They've come a long way in a short time since then, designing a unique blockchain-powered platform offering civil service innovation to Small Countries around the world. The XENTAVO team is supported by advisors comprised of the crypto industry’s best, brightest and most passionate. They've got decades of collective experience in building and implementing digital projects on a governmental level. The XENTAVO team share a vision to make blockchain applications accessible and beneficial to Small Country governments across the world. Here’s my conversation with Robert Koenig, blockchain solutions for small countries, in episode 347 of Informed Choice Radio.

Blockchain start-up, DECENT, has developed an open-source, P2P content distribution platform, that is changing the way individuals and organizations access and publish information for free. The highly secure platform is transparent and offers a clear audit trail with time-stamped transactions. Founder and CEO at DECENT, Matej Michalko, explains the mission behind the innovative start-up, was to remove the middle man from publishing. Compared to traditional methods, DECENT, connects people around the globe who want to share digital content including audio, video, text, software or video games, through an open-source platform at no cost. Content owners set their own price and generally consumers gain access to the content at a lower price, without the 3rd party costs added in and creators receive 100% revenue. Additionally, DECENT released its own token, DCT, which allows the protocol to run. The tokens can be used for publishing, buying, selling and sharing content on the platform. With a background in technology and an entire career spent in the blockchain space, Michael Gord founded MLG Blockchain in order to help provide turnkey services for ICOs and enterprise blockchain consulting, education, and development. Based in Toronto, MLG helps clients create white papers, design and launch token sales, and helps enterprise corporations successfully integrate blockchain solutions with their existing infrastructure. Education about the blockchain and cryptocurrency spaces is very important to Michael and MLG, which is why they fund a three-part competition designed to turn blockchain company ideas into successful businesses, and award their teams money and prizes. MLG Blockchain also recently launched AirDropX, a social platform designed to facilitate educational air drops. Michael and MLG Blockchain will be at the Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Blockchain Superconference in Dallas, Texas February 16-18, where he will give a talk on creating global network effects, how blockchain can continue to be disruptive, and recent trends in the space. We just got back from the Bitcoin Superconference in Dallas, and we are live podcasting from our AirBnB. Did we think the conference had value? Was it at least fun? Cello met Michael Bisping! We also worked though, don't worry. We give our thoughts and invite MIMIR Blockchain Solutions to swing by and chat with us and southern hip-hop legend Boosie Badazz is dipping his toe in the crypto game. He stops by to tell us what he's up to this year.
“Normally, you would host your own node to interact with the blockchain and sync the blockchain, but what we're doing is using a superior messaging protocol and proof of stake collateral system, so you can connect your mobile device to these Ethereum nodes that already exist,” explains Nick Fierro, CEO of Mimir Blockchain Solutions. So, what does this accomplish? By allowing users and developers to bypass the process of setting up their own nodes and syncing them to the blockchain, it reduces the time necessary to scale projects. But that's not all: the more people that join the network, the more nodes, and as the number of nodes increase, so too does the level of security in the system. It's the first of its kind, and it's already generating a good deal of interest. Tune in to learn more. Jessica VerSteeg, CEO of Paragon and ParagonCoin, discusses how blockchain and crypto-currency can positively impact the legal cannabis industry. It is said that necessity is the mother of invention. For Jessica VerSteeg, necessity first came in relation to AuBox, her monthly cannabis subscription box available in San Francisco. She needed a way to provide efficiency, transparency, and trust in the cannabis industry for her customers, while also maintaining compliance with government regulations. Already a believer in blockchain and crypto-currency, she created her own offline ecosystem that can verify patient's medical marijuana cards, and provide verification of ingredients in edibles and other products she sells, and much more. Though government regulations currently only allow medical marijuana to be purchased with cash, the ecosystem also has the functionality to use crypto-currency as a payment method. While the cannabis industry waits for these regulations to change, she has created an online community for the cannabis industry and cannabis users to work towards their goals.
